The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is all over social media, print media and electronic media as of now because of his superb performance in the first ODI of the 3-match series against England. The match was played at The Oval and after winning the toss, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma chose to bow first. His decision was justified by his pacers, especially Jasprit Bumrah who dismissed 6 English batsmen and gave away just 19 runs. It was the best performance of any Indian bowler against England as the previous record was in the name of Ashish Nehra whose figures read 6/24 in a 2003 World Cup match. Mohammed Shami gave full support to Jasprit Bumrah as he took 3 wickets and gave away only 31 runs.

The English team could manage only 110 runs on the score board which was chased successfully by the Indian openers Rohit Sharma (76*) and Shikhar Dhawan (31*) as India won the match by 10 wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah who was adjudged as the Player of the Match also appeared in the post-match press conference and answered many questions related to the match, his performance and the team’s victory. However, what caught people’s attention the most was the answer which Jasprit Bumrah gave in response to the question asked by a journalist.

The journalist says that he interviewed Bumrah six years ago and his confidence was the same as it is today. The Indian pacer gives a funny response as he says that he doesn’t remember what he said six years ago. He further adds that he likes to live in the present and focuses most on his own preparation and evaluations because there is a lot of noise and it can create confusion in one’s mind. Jasprit Bumrah goes on to say that he does everything that is in his control such as working hard and keeping a check on his fitness and diet because of which he can accept his results easily. He adds that he has tried to maintain consistency which also helps him in maintaining stability.
