The debate on nepotism in Bollywood doesn’t seem to end any sooner and now actress Shruti Haasan has also opened up on this matter. Shruti mainly works in Telugu and Tamil movies but she has also worked in some Hindi flicks.

Shruti’s father Kamal Haasan is one of the most famous actors of the Indian film industry and he has worked not just in southern films but in Bollywood as well.

Recently, Shruti gave an interview in which she was asked to comment on nepotism and during the interaction, she openly accepted that she is in this industry because of her father’s name. Shruti Haasan says that it will be like a criminal offence if she doesn’t accept it that she has got work in movies because of her surname but at the same time, she also says that over time, she has found out that things work differently in the south movie industry and Bollywood.

Shruti further said that she made her debut with actor Suriya who also got work in movies because of his father Sivakumar sir but after the debut film, the family background of the actor doesn’t matter in Telugu and Tamil movie industries. As per her, it is the talent and hard work of an actor that makes his/her future after the launch in the south movie industry but it is not the same in Bollywood.

Shruti Haasan will be seen next in “Krack” in which she is working with Ravi Teja and if the reports are to be believed, she will also be seen in “Vakeel Saab” that will star Pawan Kalyan. “Vakeel Saab” is said to be the Telugu remake of Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer Hindi movie “Pink”.

Do you agree with Shruti Haasan’s opinion that things work differently in Bollywood? Do let us know your views.
