Ishant Sharma & Hanuma Vihari Wish Priya Malik For Gold But Made A Goof-Up, Delete Tweets Later

The whole world’s attention is on Tokyo at the moment as the biggest sports competition of the world, Olympics is taking place over there. As far as India’s performance is concerned, the account was opened by the Indian female weightlifter Mirabai Chanu who won the silver medal in 49 kg category. She was showered with love and affection by the citizens of India for making the country proud in Olympics and the next morning also brought good news that the Indian wrestler Priya Malik won a gold medal in the World Wrestling Championship taking place in Hungary.

However, many people were not aware of the fact that the World Wrestling Championship is also taking place at the same time as Olympics and they thought that Priya Malik won the first gold medal for India in Tokyo Olympics.

The same mistake has been committed by the Indian cricketers Hanuma Vihari and Ishant Sharma who are in England at the moment where the Indian team will be playing 5-match test series against England starting August 4.

Both the Indian cricketers took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and congratulated Priya Malik for winning the first gold medal for the country in Tokyo Olympics; nevertheless, they soon realised their goof-up and deleted their tweets.

Here is what Ishant Sharma tweeted:

Check out the tweet made by Hanuma Vihari:

Ishant Sharma has been an integral part of the Indian pace battery and most probably he will be included in the Indian squad which will be playing the first test match against England at Trent Bridge. However the inclusion of Hanuma Vihari will depend a lot on the combination with which the Indian team will like to play.

Hanuma Vihari last played for India in the Sydney test match which was played against Australia and India managed to draw it because of some patient innings by Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin.

We also congratulate Priya Malik for winning a gold medal at the World Wrestling Championship.

Ishan Kishan’s Brilliant Stumping In INDvsSL First T20 Reminded Fans Of MS Dhoni

The young Indian cricket team led by Shikhar Dhawan which is in Sri Lanka at the moment has started the 3-match T20I series with a bang by winning the first T20I after achieving victory in the 3-match ODI series by 2-1. The young players of this team have impressed everyone with their performances and in yesterday’s match, the wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan did something on the field which made people remember the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni.

During the Sri Lankan batting, the debutante Varun Chakravarthy was bowling the 18th over of the innings. On one of his deliveries, the Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka got beaten and the ball went straight into the hands of Ishan Kishan. Dasun Shanaka also lost his balance, Ishan Kishan took the advantage of it and removed the bails in a swift manner because of which the Sri Lankan skipper got dismissed.

Sri Lanka needed 42 runs to win the match when Dasun Shanaka got out but after that, the hosts lost wickets quickly and India won the match by 38 runs.

MS Dhoni is certainly one of the fastest behind the wickets all over the world and the manner in which Ishan Kishan stumped Dasun Shanaka, it made people remember Dhoni as he has done this many times in his career.

Here is the video of Ishan Kishan’s stumping:

As far as the match is concerned, the toss was won by Sri Lanka and they decided to bowl first. India scored 164/5 in their stipulated 20 overs with the help of Suryakumar Yadav’s fifty and a useful innings of 46 runs by the skipper Shikhar Dhawan. The Sri Lankan team was all out for 126 runs in 18.3 overs and India won the match by 38 runs. The Indian vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar was adjudged as the player of the match as he took 4 wickets for just 22 runs.

The second T20I will be played tomorrow and while the hosts will leave no stone unturned in winning tomorrow’s match to level the series, the Indians will like to win it in order to take an invincible lead.

Were you also reminded of MS Dhoni after seeing Ishan Kishan’s stumping?

Shashi Tharoor’s Tweet Describing Bhel Puri In His Style Makes Twitter Go WTF

The Indian politician Shashi Tharoor is one of the most popular politicians of India and it won’t be hyperbole to say that his impeccable English skills have played an important role in making him famous. Shashi Tharoor, the Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, is also pretty active on social media networks and he has a pretty loyal fanbase; in fact you may be surprised to know that some online users follow him for the purpose of improving their vocabulary skills.

Recently, the Congress MP took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and made a post in which he gave the recipe of making the popular Indian roadside snack bhel puri. However, what made the difference is the style of writing as some really difficult words were used to explain the process of making bhel puri.

Representational Image

This is the recipe of bhel puri as tweeted by Shashi Tharoor:

“Exotic crispy puffed wild rice from the Western Ghats rainforest, drizzled with an aromatic salsa-verde of Rajasthani desert cilantro & the chef’s secret micro-greens sourced from our exclusive greenhouses in the Nilgiris, bathed in a luscious salsa-rosso of Ras Al-Khaimah dates & exceedingly rare Assamese Bhoot Jolokia chillies known for fruiting once in twelve years, seasoned with a sauce of sweet Kerala beach-sand soil-grown tamarind & Malabar organic raw sugar; tossed in a bronze vessel with macedoines of Gujarati winter shallots & Vidarbha heritage potatoes and riotously festooned with a cacophony of Hyderabadi chickpea-flavoured crunchies ‘bugea’ & ‘papdy’ cooked ‘a la Marwaraise.”

While Shashi Tharoor captioned the image with, “As received on @WhatsApp. Good for weekend consumption!” with laughing emoji, at the end of the post, it can be read, “Commonly known as bhel puri, Got this recipe from Dr. Shashi Tharoor”.

Here is the tweet made by Shashi Tharoor:

Soon, Twitterati started reacting on Shashi Tharoor’s post; while some suggested that a dictionary should also be added in the ingredients, several others said that the price of bhel puri will increase multiple times after such a description.

Mickey Arthur Wants Sri Lankan Cricketers To Stay Away From Social Media For This Reason

The 3-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka ended with the visitors winning the series by 2-1 as the first two matches of the series were won by India but the hosts saved some respect by attaining victory the third and the final ODI of the series.

In the first ODI, Indians overpowered Sri Lanka in all the departments and in the second match, the Sri Lankans had an upper hand for majority of the game but the Indians emerged as the winner because of great fighting knock by lower order batsmen Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

After the defeat in the second ODI, the head coach of the Sri Lankan team Mickey Arthur seemed to be pretty annoyed and he was also seen having a heated argument with the Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanka.

Many cricket lovers and some former Sri Lankan cricketers slammed Mickey Arthur for such behaviour as this could have happened in dressing room as well behind the closed doors.

Though Sri Lanka won the final match of the series, Mickey Arthur was still pretty upset with the series loss and he asked his players to keep distance from the social media networks. As per him, there are many idiots out there who are of the opinion that they know everything but in reality they know nothing.

A Sri Lankan journalist shared this information on Twitter as he tweeted, “Mickey Arthur urges his players to stay away from social media. Pretty strong words. ‘There are some idiots out there who think they know everything. But they know nothing.’”

As far as the third ODI is concerned, India won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the Indians managed to score only 225/10 in the rain affected match. The Sri Lankans were given the target of 227 runs according to the Duckworth Lewis method which they achieved in 39 overs with 3 wickets in hand and 48 balls remaining.

Avishka Fernando (76) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (65) played important roles in the victory of Sri Lanka; however some time ago, they both were out of the team due to fitness issues and the same Sri Lankan journalist shared what Mickey Arthur said about these two players and the heated debate which he had with the Sri Lankan skipper on the field.

His tweet read, “Mickey Arthur on his fitness regime. ‘Bhanuka and Avishka are two guys who have borne the brunt of our fitness scheme and missed out on tours. Couldn’t have been happier to see them come good. The differences I had with Bhanuka was for his own good.”

India and Sri Lanka will now play 3-match T20I series starting today and this series is pretty important for the players as they may secure their berth in the world cup squad with their superb performances.

Barmy Army Takes A Dig At Virat Kohli, Wasim Jaffer Gives Mouth-Shutting Reply With GOW Meme

The Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli is presently in England as they will be playing a 5-match test series over there starting August 4 and there is no doubt that this is going to be a tough contest as both the teams are pretty strong and England will certainly use the home advantage to the maximum.

The England cricket team has a loyal fan base, in fact there is a group of the English fans which is known as Barmy Army and it travels with the English team in order to cheer them and provide support to them. Barmy Army is also known for its tactics of playing mind games by taking jibes at the opponents on the social media networks. In fact if you remember, they wished the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni on his birthday in a very unpleasant manner by reminding about the match which India lost to England in the ICC World Cup 2019.

This time Barmy Army has tried to troll the Indian skipper Virat Kohli by posting a pic of him in which he is seen practicing archery while the former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer is standing beside him.

Barmy Army captioned the photo, “BREAKING NEWS Virat is out of the upcoming Test Series as he’s in Tokyo preparing for the Archery. More to follow. #Tokyo2020”

The tweet was soon noticed by Wasim Jaffer who has a reputation of making funny and satirical tweets as well as giving it back to trolls in the most befitting manner and he gave quite a good reply to Barmy Army too.

Wasim used the photo of Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui from his movie “Gangs of Wasseypur – Part 2” with the punch line – “Iske pass jo ganja hai woh humko chahiye” (I want the weed that he has).

Wasim Jaffer trolled Barmy Army with his caption too as he wrote, “Barmy Army or Bar mein Army?” (Barmy Army or Army in Bar?) with laughing emoji.

Meanwhile, few Indian cricketers including Shubman Gill, Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar have suffered injuries in England during the warm-up matches because of which Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw who are in Sri Lanka presently will be joining the senior team in England soon. The selectors also discussed about Jayant Yadav but his name was dropped due to the change in the quarantine rules while SKY and Prithvi will be getting transferred from one bubble to another.

On the other hand, the young Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan will be playing their first T20I of the 3-match series against Sri Lanka today after winning the ODI series by 2-1.
