The 3-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka ended with the visitors winning the series by 2-1 as the first two matches of the series were won by India but the hosts saved some respect by attaining victory the third and the final ODI of the series.

In the first ODI, Indians overpowered Sri Lanka in all the departments and in the second match, the Sri Lankans had an upper hand for majority of the game but the Indians emerged as the winner because of great fighting knock by lower order batsmen Deepak Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

After the defeat in the second ODI, the head coach of the Sri Lankan team Mickey Arthur seemed to be pretty annoyed and he was also seen having a heated argument with the Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanka.

Many cricket lovers and some former Sri Lankan cricketers slammed Mickey Arthur for such behaviour as this could have happened in dressing room as well behind the closed doors.

Though Sri Lanka won the final match of the series, Mickey Arthur was still pretty upset with the series loss and he asked his players to keep distance from the social media networks. As per him, there are many idiots out there who are of the opinion that they know everything but in reality they know nothing.

A Sri Lankan journalist shared this information on Twitter as he tweeted, “Mickey Arthur urges his players to stay away from social media. Pretty strong words. ‘There are some idiots out there who think they know everything. But they know nothing.’”

As far as the third ODI is concerned, India won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the Indians managed to score only 225/10 in the rain affected match. The Sri Lankans were given the target of 227 runs according to the Duckworth Lewis method which they achieved in 39 overs with 3 wickets in hand and 48 balls remaining.

Avishka Fernando (76) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (65) played important roles in the victory of Sri Lanka; however some time ago, they both were out of the team due to fitness issues and the same Sri Lankan journalist shared what Mickey Arthur said about these two players and the heated debate which he had with the Sri Lankan skipper on the field.

His tweet read, “Mickey Arthur on his fitness regime. ‘Bhanuka and Avishka are two guys who have borne the brunt of our fitness scheme and missed out on tours. Couldn’t have been happier to see them come good. The differences I had with Bhanuka was for his own good.”

India and Sri Lanka will now play 3-match T20I series starting today and this series is pretty important for the players as they may secure their berth in the world cup squad with their superb performances.
