The condition of the Indian rivers is not quite good as various chemicals along with sewage water are being released in many of them and though everyone understands that water pollution is very much detrimental for all of us, still very fewer measures have been taken in order to cleanse the rivers.
The condition of the Yamuna river in Delhi is pathetic as the water not only contains harmful chemicals but foam has also developed on the surface which is toxic in nature.
The festival of Chhath has once again exposed the reality of Yamuna in Delhi as in this four-day festival, the devotees worship Sun God and Chhathi Maiyya and they also visit the banks of the rivers in order to offer their prayers.
Many devotees visited the banks of Yamuna where the water got contaminated to such an extent that the medical experts had to issue warnings that if the devotees take a dip in Yamuna, they may suffer from skin problems. The rising levels of ammonia have also posed problems in the water supply of the city and soon photos from the Yamuna banks started going viral on the Internet.
In order to show that the government and authorities are not inactive in this regard, employees of Delhi water board were sent to set up barricading in the river so that the foam can be kept away from the ghats and 15 boats were also deployed to dissipate toxic foam.
However, what really amused the online users was Delhi water board’s employee who was assigned the duty of sprinkling water for dissipating the toxic foam.
Soon netizens began reacting on it as they were quite upset with the seriousness shown by the government for cleaning the rivers. This is how people mocked the Delhi government:

Meanwhile, the Delhi police also tried to send back some devotees citing that offering prayers at the banks of the river is not allowed.

The England cricket team was one of the favorites to win the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 but its journey in the tournament ended yesterday with the defeat in the first semi-finals which it played against New Zealand. The Kiwis won the match by 5 wickets as they achieved the target of 167 runs with 6 balls remaining in their innings.
The former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer who is known for his funny and witty tweets took this as an opportunity to troll the former English cricketer Kevin Pietersen as he was of the opinion that England could be defeated only by Pakistan or Afghanistan in this tournament and that too only if the pitch on which the match is played is a used one otherwise the trophy should be handed over to England in the same manner as Chelsea should be handed over the EPL trophy.
KP’s tweet read, “Only Pakistan or Afghanistan can beat England in this T20 World Cup. BUT and it’s a BIG BUT, the game would have to be played on a used wicket in Sharjah. Anywhere else, just hand England the trophy like Chelsea should be handed the EPL trophy RIGHT NOW!”
Wasim Jaffer used an image of the Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson and the text on it read, “Haa, hum to yaha bass Burj Khalifa dekhne aaye hai” (Yes why not, we have come here just to see Burj Khalifa).
New Zealand will now face the winner of the second semi-final in the finals of the tournament. The second semi-final will be played between Pakistan and Australia on Thursday.
After the match, Kane Williamson praised his team for playing well especially the opener Daryl Mitchell who stayed till the end and ensured that his team won the match. Mitchell scored 72 runs not out for which he played 47 deliveries and his innings included 4 fours and 4 sixes. Kane Williamson also talked about James Neesham and said that he came out and changed the momentum of the innings with his hard hitting.

The New Zealand cricket team has entered the finals of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup by defeating England by 5 wickets in the tournament’s first semi-final which was played yesterday at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. In the finals, the Kiwis will face the winner of the second semi-final which will be on Thursday between Australia and Pakistan.
As far as the match is concerned, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first. England had a steady start as its openers scored 37 runs in partnership before Jonny Bairstow (13) got out in the sixth over and useful knocks of Dawid Malan (41) and Moeen Ali (51) helped their team in posting a decent score of 166/4 on the scoreboard.
In response, the Kiwis lost Martin Guptill (4) and skipper Kane Williamson (5) quite early but Daryl Mitchell stayed on the crease till end and produced a sparkling knock of 72 runs in 47 balls (4 fours & 4 sixes). Devon Conway also contributed well in his team’s win by scoring 46 runs of 38 deliveries and his innings included 5 fours and 1 six. The all-rounder James Neesham also played an important role in his team’s victory by scoring quick 27 runs for which he faced 11 balls (1 four & 3 sixes). The Black Caps achieved the target with 6 balls remaining and also took the revenge of the 2019 World Cup final in which they lost to England.
As the winning run was scored by the New Zealand batter, all the Kiwi players present in the dug-out stood up and started celebrating but Jimmy Neesham behaved indifferently as he kept on sitting and gave no reaction. Soon the image of James Neesham sitting with no expression on his face after victory went viral and people started giving their opinion as some felt that James Neesham is still hurt with the loss of 2019 WC final.

In an interview, Graeme Swann says that Rohit Sharma is a brilliant skipper and he has done a great job for MI but he would have chosen Rishabh Pant for the job as he will be there for more than 10 years. The Indian cricket team’s journey may have ended in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 but we are going to see good amount of competitive cricket in the near future as New Zealand will be visiting India for playing white ball cricket. India and NZ will be playing three match T20I series starting from November 17 at Jaipur and recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Indian squad for the series.
As it was being said, Rohit Sharma has been appointed as the skipper for this series and KL Rahul has been appointed as the vice-captain of team India. Virat Kohli has been rested along with Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja while the youngsters – Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel and Deepak Chahar who were kept as reserves in the T20 World Cup have been included in the main squad.
The Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal also made a comeback in the national team along with Mohammed Siraj but one player was again not included in the squad despite the fact that he performed well continuously both in domestic circuits and IPL.
We are talking about Kerala cricketer Sanju Samson who led Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2021 and though RR was not able to enter the play-offs yet Sanju Samson was quite phenomenal as a batter. He scored 484 runs in the league with an average of 40.33 and his strike rate was 136.72. Sanju scored a century (119) against KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings in this season along with a couple of half-centuries. If we take a look at the IPL career of Sanju Samson, he made his debut in 2013 for RR and since then, he has made 3068 runs including three centuries. While playing for Kerala in domestic level, Sanju Samson has scored 4725 runs in 193 T20 matches which include 3 centuries and 29 fifties.
Sanju Samson who is a wicketkeeper-batsman was not included in the Indian squad for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2021 as the BCCI selected Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan as two wicket-keeping options. After not getting selected in the Indian squad for the NZ series, he made a cryptic tweet in which he did not write any caption but posted a collage of three photos as if he wants to imply that he is a good fielder as well if he is not considered as a wicketkeeper.

The Indian cricket team will be coming back to India soon as it has failed in securing a place in the semi-finals and now the Board of Control for Cricket in India will appoint a new skipper for the Indian T20 team in view of the fact that Virat Kohli has already made an announcement regarding leaving the T20 captaincy after the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
If some reports are to be believed, the BCCI will remove Virat Kohli from the ODI captaincy as well and appoint a skipper for both ODIs and T20Is. However, the former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag feels that Virat Kohli should remain the skipper of the Indian team in other two formats. While speaking on the latest episode of Virugiri Dot Com, Nawab of Najafgarh answered a question asked by a fan who wanted that Virat Kohli should leave the captaincy of other two formats as well.
Virender Sehwag says that it will be Virat’s personal decision whether he wants to leave captaincy of other two formats or not but he feels that team India has been performing well under him and has won many bilateral series. Sehwag further adds that he wants Virat Kohli to keep leading the Indian team in other two formats because his records as the skipper are pretty great, he is a good player and a good captain as well.
However, the former Indian cricketer who was known for his destructive batting during his playing days also spoke about the need of introspection in the Indian squad as it has not won any ICC trophy for a long time now despite being one of the strongest teams of the cricket world.
He adds that we should lend our support to our team in the bad times too but it is also true that we haven’t won any ICC tournament in past many years and winning bilateral series is good but a skipper is remembered only if the team wins the ICC tournaments on a regular basis under his captaincy.

The journey of the Indian cricket team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 ended yesterday with a win against Namibia in its last league match of the tournament. Though India registered three successive wins in the last three matches, its overall campaign was quite disappointing and it was not even able to secure a place in the semi-finals. Fans are pretty upset as they never expected such poor performance from the Indian team which was considered as the favorites to win the trophy in the beginning of the tournament. India’s start in the ICC T20 World Cup was disastrous as it lost its first league match to Pakistan and then the second one to New Zealand.
Team India will be making a new beginning now as Virat Kohli has already announced that he will quit the T20 captaincy after the T20 World Cup whereas the tenure of head coach Ravi Shastri has also come to an end with the tournament. While Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian team, there has been no official announcement regarding the new T20 skipper but as per reports, Rohit Sharma may be the one who will lead the Indian team from now onwards.
While speaking in a press conference, Ravi Shastri expressed his opinion on various issues. Talking about Rohit Sharma being the new skipper, he says that he feels Rohit Sharma is quite capable of leading the team considering the fact that he has won IPL multiple times and also because he has the experience of playing as vice-captain for the national side.
Rohit Sharma is the most successful skipper of the IPL as under his leadership, Mumbai Indians has won 5 titles while the tournament’s second most successful captain is MS Dhoni as CSK has won the title 4 times. On the other hand, Virat Kohli has been playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2008 and has been leading it since 2013 but RCB hasn’t been able to win even a single title. Virat Kohli has also given up the captaincy of RCB as mega auction is scheduled to take place next year.
Talking about split captaincy, Ravi Shastri states that it is not a bad idea especially in the present times when players have to live in the bio-bubble due to COVID-19. He adds that players have to be rotated as they should be able to meet and spend some time with their family members. Shastri is of the opinion that if a cricketer is living in the bio-bubble for a long time, he may have his family with him on the tour but still he is not able to meet his parents and other family members.
Though India failed to win the World Cup, Ravi Shastri feels that India will always have a strong T20 team as the IPL showcases the talent of many players and increases their chances of playing for the country.
Team India has performed well under Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri as it won many bilateral series but they both failed in making the team win an ICC trophy.
