Aakash Chopra Again Takes A Jibe At Arjuna Ranatunga For Second String Comment After India’s Win

The India-Sri Lanka series was set to commence on 13th July but it was rescheduled to start from 18th July after some Sri Lankan players and staff members tested COVID-19 positive. The first ODI of the 3-match series was played yesterday at the R. Premdasa International Cricket Stadium and the young Indian team registered a comfortable win over the hosts.

The toss was won by the Sri Lankans and they decided to bat first. The hosts managed to put up a decent total of 262 runs on the score board and the highest scorer for the Sri Lanka team was Chamika Karunaratne who scored 43 runs not out.

The Indians had a great start as the opener Prithvi Shaw smashed the Sri Lankan bowlers in all corners of the field. He scored 43 runs for which he played only 24 balls and his innings included 9 fours. While Ishan Kishan played a blistering innings of 59 runs in 42 balls (8 fours & 2 sixes) in his debut match, the skipper Shikhar Dhawan led from the front and remained not out at 86 runs for which he played 95 balls and his innings included 6 fours and 1 six. Suryakumar Yadav also played a quick innings of 31 runs in 20 deliveries (5 fours) and India won the match by 7 wickets with 80 balls remaining in their innings.

With this win, the Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan has completely silenced their critics who were calling them a second string team. The senior players of the Indian cricket team such as Rohit Sharma, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, etc. are in England at the moment as they will be facing the English team in the five-match test series under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. Hence, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) sent this relatively less experienced team for the tour to Sri Lanka under the leadership of Shikhar Dhawan while the former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid was appointed as the head coach of the team.

Earlier the former Sri Lankan skipper Arjuna Ranatunga called this Indian squad the second-string squad and slammed the Sri Lankan Cricket Board for getting agreed to play with this Indian team just for earning revenues from the broadcasting. Arjuna Ranatunga also termed it as an insult to the Sri Lankan team and at that time, the former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra responded in a strong manner, informing Arjuna Ranatunga that this team played in 471 matches in total and asked him to wait and see how strong or experienced the Sri Lankan team will be which will face the Indian squad.

After team India defeated the Sri Lankan side, Aakash Chopra took it as an opportunity to take a jibe at Arjuna Ranatunga and stated in his YouTube channel that it feels as if the Indian team has taken the second-string comment on their heart. Chopra said that the 262 was not so less as the Indian team made it look and achieved the target in style, showing that they know how to silence the opposition.

The second ODI will be played on July 20 and it will be interesting to see which team will win the match.

This UP Village Has 75 Households & It Has Given More Than 50 IAS Officers

A huge number of aspirants, approximately one million, appear every year in the Civil Services examinations which are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) but only less than a thousand are able to clear them and serve the country. Uttar Pradesh has contributed in a great manner in terms of giving IAS officers to the nation but today we will tell you about a UP village where there are only 75 households yet quite amazingly, there is at least one member of each household who is serving as IAS or PCS.

The name of this village is Madhopatti which is in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh and till now, this village has given more than 50 IAS officers to the country. What is really heartening is that it is not just about the sons and daughters of the village but the daughter-in-laws are also IAS officers.

Madhopatti also has a unique record to its name which is of four siblings getting selected for the IAS, the eldest was Vinay Kumar Singh of the 1955 batch who retired as the chief secretary of the Bihar state. Khan Bahadur Syed Mohammad Mustafa was the first person from Madhopatti who cleared the Civil Services examinations in the year 1914.

Many other people from the village have been working with other highly esteemed organizations such as Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

However what is a little heartbreaking is that despite giving so many IAS officers to the nation, the infrastructure condition of the village has not improved much. Moreover, there is no coaching institute for helping students prepare for IAS examinations even today.

Well, people should work towards improving the condition of infrastructure in Madhopatti and develop the village apart from arranging for coaching classes so that it produces more talents and students get proper guidance.

Advertising is all about creativity and out of the box thinking but sometimes the advertisers come up with commercials which leave people confused and perplexed.

Brands tend to promote their products on all the available mediums such as print media, electronic media, billboards, social media networks, etc. and they also provide discounts and offers to attract customers. However, a billboard advertisement related to real estate in the city of Pune became the talk of the social media networks after an online user shared the photo of the billboard ad on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

The ad was about introducing +0.25 BHK homes and it also asked the consumers to be a NeoCosmopolitan. People were also quite confused after seeing this new word; while neo means new, cosmopolitan stands for those who are influenced by cultures of other countries.

In his tweet, the online user asked about the 0.25 BHK and NeoCosmopolitan as he wrote, “What size is a 0.25 BHK home? And who is a NeoCosmopolitan?”

Soon Twitterati started reacting and while some tried to have fun at the expense of this ad, few others tried to interpret what this ad might mean.

Kapil Dev Compares Fighting COVID With Test Match, “Helmet Protects From Injury, Mask From Corona”

There is no denying the fact that the whole world is going through a tough phase because of the coronavirus pandemic and it is the time when we need to show courage, resilience and sensibility in order to save ourselves from getting infected with the lethal virus.

If we talk about the situation of COVID-19 in India, the second wave has subsided in majority of the states and the state governments have also unlocked the state with some restrictions. However, it has been observed that people are going on trips to tourist places in huge numbers and they are not following the COVID-19 protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, etc.

This behaviour of the citizens is a matter of serious concern for everyone and not just the government because it will increase chances of the third wave and we should have no doubt that the third wave is going to be stronger and more harmful than the first and the second waves.

The former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev who has a huge fan following has now joined the campaign of Nissan India for educating people by comparing the present situation with the game of cricket and his career. In the video, Kapil Dev is seen with a cricket ball which has been modified into the shape of the COVID-19 virus.

He says that in his career, he has played many do-or-die matches; while in some he tasted victory, in few others he got defeated but the match against corona is the toughest match that India has ever faced. Kapil Dev under whose leadership the Indian cricket team won the first cricket World Cup in the year 1983 referred to test matches while speaking in the video as he said that when we thought that we defeated COVID-19 in the first innings, the virus made a strong comeback in the second innings. He further stated that no matter how hard it may be to defeat the opponent but we need to be well-prepared for this match and defeat coronavirus.

Nissan India shared the video with the caption, “The pandemic is the toughest match India has ever faced. To help us prepare better and be match-ready for this challenge, Nissan India has brought in our legendary Indian captain, @therealkapildev. Here’s what our champion has to say about getting ready. #IndiaVsCorona”

In simple words, the manner in which helmets save the batsmen from injuries, masks save us from corona in the same manner so we should ensure that we wear masks and maintain social distancing whenever we are out of the house.

Follow the COVID-19 protocols and stay safe.

It is very sunny

Greece is a summer vacation destination, and this means that it has sunshine all summer long. For those looking to catch a tan while on holiday, or even just spend their time outside enjoying the sunshine, Greece is the place to be.

With temperatures ranging from 31 to 35 degrees Celsius, or 88 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit, there is no shortage of heat here.
