Sometimes we face such unpleasant situations or circumstances that we just want to forget them forever and year 2020 has been so devastating that many of us would not like to even remember it in the future. While the coronavirus pandemic made this year a nightmare for us, it was well supported by the forest fires, locust attack, earthquakes, etc.
The economies of even the developed nations crumbled as all the businesses were shut down, all sporting events were either cancelled or postponed, the film industry got affected severely and schools, colleges, cinema halls, gyms and all such places where there was a possibility of crowd gathering were closed. In 2020, not only many people lost their lives but a number of individuals lost their jobs and their financial condition went for a toss.
More than 1.73 million people have lost their lives worldwide because of the COVID-19 outbreak and it won’t be wrong to say that the situation is still not in complete control. The whole world is unlocked now, people are still getting infected and some people are still losing their lives, however the good thing is that the recovery rate is far better than earlier.
Some nations have started vaccination for COVID-19 and people are quite hopeful that 2021 will be better than 2020. With only 7 days remaining in the year 2020 to end, the micro-blogging site Twitter asked Twitterati to roast 2020 and soon people started roasting in their own style.

While the whole world is happy that vaccination has started for COVID-19, a new variant of coronavirus has appeared in UK, South Africa and Nigeria. What is more saddening and frightening is that this new variant is more harmful than the original coronavirus.
We hope that the world gets freed from this lethal virus soon and 2021 gives us all the happiness which we missed in 2020. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed!

The coronavirus pandemic has made it difficult for all of us to travel from one place to another because of which many people who are working in different cities are not able to visit their native place and are feeling homesick. In order to help such people, a company from UK named My Baggage has started the facility of sending the air of some locations in UK. Currently, the company is selling bottles of air from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for the UK citizens who are living somewhere else in the world and are missing their hometown badly.
The bottles have been priced at £25 which comes to Rs. 2,500 approximately. The bottles contain 500 ml of air and it comes with a cork stopper. The consumer can smell the air and close it quickly so that the air is preserved for a long time. Other than the four locations in UK, the company may take special requests like they did for a person who wanted the air from the mountain areas of Snowdonia, northwestern Wales.
As of now, some limited edition of bottles which have air from London Underground and chip shop in Norfolk are also available.
It is going to be more difficult for the UK people to return to their country as many nations have put restrictions on travelling to Britain in view of the fact that a new strain of COVID-19 has been found over there. In such a scenario, it is a good option for the UK people to order air from their home so that they can control their emotions a little and feel at home by smelling the air of their home area.

Sanjay Jagdale, the former Indian selector, revealed some interesting details in an interview with a sports portal. He said that in 2007, he was a selector and chairman was Dilip Vengsarkar, they were in England with the Indian team for the ODI series and they had to select the team for the 2007 T20 World Cup.
Sanjay added that as Sourav, Sachin and Rahul were not interested to play in the tournament, a young team was selected and MS Dhoni was given the responsibility of leading the team for the first time.
Sanjay Jagdale stated that he was surprised at the confidence which was shown by MSD when he was made the captain as he said that the team would return only after the winning the T20 World Cup from South Africa. The Indian squad performed in a superb manner under Dhoni’s leadership and won the T20 World Cup by defeating Pakistan in the finals.
MS Dhoni is the only skipper to win all the three ICC trophies – 2007 ICC T20 World Cup, 2011 ICC World Cup and 2013 ICC Champions trophy and he will always be counted among the legendary cricketers, even if he has taken retirement from the international cricket now.

It is quite certain that Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be missed big time by the Indian team in the remaining three test matches of the series as he is one of the greatest batsmen of all times. Virat has taken paternity leave as his wife Anushka Sharma will be giving birth to their first baby in January 2021 and he wants to be with her on this special moment of their lives.
There has been a lot of debate on this issue as many feel that Virat Kohli should not leave the team mid-way in the series, especially after the humiliating defeat in the first test match while some others are of the opinion that Virat’s decision should be respected and no question should be raised on him.
However, the matter has once again gained everybody’s attention after the former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar said that partiality takes place in the Indian team. The legendary cricketer says that different rules are in place for different people, while bowlers like Ravichandran Ashwin are sidelined if they are not able to perform, some batsmen stay in the team despite their repeated bad performances.
Gavaskar has talked about this matter in his sports column which he writes for Star Sports. He writes that T. Natarajan, the Indian pacer who is a wonderful player of T20 became father of a daughter during the IPL playoffs which were played in Dubai. Gavaskar adds that as T. Natarajan came directly to Australia from Dubai, he wasn’t able to see his daughter but he was asked to stay for the test series as a net bowler after the T20 series got over. He further writes that now he will be able to see his daughter in the third week of January but the Indian captain is returning to India after first test for the birth of his baby. Gavaskar also adds that if someone doesn’t believe him, he can directly ask R Ashwin and T. Natarajan.
This has once again heated up the matter as Indian cricket lovers are already pissed-off with the performance of team India in the first test match, especially in the second innings in which the squad succumbed to its lowest total of 36 and no batsman was able to touch the double digit mark.

The Australian cricket team and the team management must be pretty happy with the fact that they have won the first test match of the four match test series and it is quite certain that the Indian team which will play the second test match won’t be as strong as it was in the first test match because of the absence of Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Mohammad Shami.
The Australian team defeated India by 8 wickets in the first test match which was played at Adelaide Oval and what would have increased the confidence of the Australian bowlers to a great extent is the fact that they had sent the whole Indian team back to pavilion in the second innings at a meager score of 36. It is the lowest score of team India in the tests ever and not even a single Indian batsman was able to touch the double digit mark.
The former Australian player and current head coach of the Australian team Justin Langer is happy with the fact that it is the Indian side which is under stress over Christmas and not his side. While speaking in a virtual press conference, Justin says that he does have empathy for the Indian side as he knows how it feels like but he doesn’t want stress as he had enough of it.
Justin Langer is quite confident that team India will certainly miss Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Mohammad Shami badly because Virat is a great player and Shami is a skilled bowler who doesn’t concede many runs. Justin is of the opinion that the absence of these two players will certainly be beneficial for the Australian squad whereas India will be weaker after missing their two star players. He further says that the Australian team will try to start the first day strongly so that they are able to bring Ajinkya Rahane, the new captain, under pressure.
When Justin Langer was asked what he would have done if he was in place of Ravi Shastri, Justin refused to even think about it and said that it’s none of his business. The Australian head coach is quite happy with the fact that David Warner will return in the second half of the test series. Though David Warner is fit now, he won’t be able to play the second test match starting December 26 which will be played at Melbourne Cricket ground because of the COVID-19 protocols.
Virat Kohli is on the paternity leave as his wife Anushka Sharma is pregnant and will be giving birth to their first baby in January 2021 while on the other hand, Mohammad Shami has fractured his arm.

There have been many cricketers who are considered as great and legendary but the name of Sir Donald Bradman is taken in the highest regard in the cricket world.
The Australian legend is considered as the greatest batsman and recently his 1928 cap was put for auction so quite obviously, a huge amount was expected in bidding. While the estimation of this baggy green cap was more than $1 million, the bids were pretty low considering it.
It has been reported that the cap has been sold for record-breaking amount and the proud owner of the cap is Peter Freedman, the businessman from Sydney and founder & chairman of Sydney Electronics Company Rode. It is being said that the 1928 cap has been sold at a higher price, i.e., Aus$450,000 which is more than the selling price of 1948 cap which was sold for Aus$425,000 in the year 2003.
One reason because of which this cap attracted higher price is the fact that it is linked with Peter Dunham, the former accountant who has been convicted for fraud. Dunham was gifted this cap by Bradman himself when they both were neighbours and the victims of Dunham hoped that they would get some funds back by selling this cap.
The proud owner Peter Freedman wishes to tour the cap all over the country in 2021 and share it with fans of the game and the communities dedicated to cricket. He also desires to get a memorabilia from the legendary Don Bradman.
Every cricket lover would love to have Don Bradman’s cap in his collection and Peter Freedman is certainly a lucky man!
