2020 surely didn’t go as we planned it to. For most of us, our travel and fitness goals (for sure) have been delayed. Work from home jobs was a far fetched reality which became functional once we were quarantined in our houses. Who knew that working from home could be this fun?

Are you amongst the people who are not bored in the house due to the stalked up work on your virtual desk? If yes, this article will give you a good reality check. And don’t worry, we are all in this together. All the scenarios given below are applicable to the majority of us.

Waking up – was that the alarm?

So you also thought you’re going to wake up an hour before work to make your breakfast and exercise? We all did that during the initial days. But now, what is time even? And why would you wake up early when you can enjoy your breakfast in bed while checking on the emails. Snooze that alarm!

WFH snacks – Salad or KFC?

We were all so determined to work on our eating habits when the lockdown was initiated that we either turned into master chefs or ate our 2 minute Maggi within 5 minutes. Students and freshers who’ve recently joined work from home internships, leverage the opportunity of gaining professional work experience while munching down that pack of chips during that conference call. Don’t worry, we’ve all gone a size up.

Dressing up – Shirts & Pyjamas

Dressing up in formal attire and grooming yourself to work from home is said to increase your productivity as it instils a sense of discipline within you. But who cares, our pyjamas are our best friends now. Messy hair and loungewear is the definition of comfort, and what’s better than working in breathable clothes? Also, we all know why we don’t stand up during those Zoom call meetings of startups & companies (wink-wink).

Lunch break- Minutes to Hours

Lunch breaks call for a feast. Que that series on Netflix with a plate of Rajma-Chawal on the side. You don’t realise how infective watching that one episode of Friends can be during the lunch break. After feasting on that Rajma-Chawal and running a marathon of Friends on Netflix, you realise that you’re way past your lunchtime. So how long was your lunch break for today? 

These were some of the work from home expectation vs reality scenarios we all are facing currently. A special mention goes to pet interruptions, unstable wifis, worsening sleep cycles, drowning fitness, and constant anxiety of the shocking events of the year of disaster enrolling every now and then that have been adding up to building this unique experience of working from home. It had its pros and cons but is now a dream lifestyle for couch potatoes like me.

Rohit Roy is one of the most famous actors of the Indian television industry who have also worked in few Bollywood movies. The actor was quite active during the lockdown as he was giving fitness goals to everyone and soon he will be shooting for Sanjay Gupta directed “Mumbai Saga”, an upcoming gangster drama. The film also stars John Abraham, Jackie Shroff, Emran Hashmi and others and Rohit is all praises for John Abraham nowadays.

In the movie, John is playing the character of Ganpat Rao Bhonsle while Rohit is portraying the character of Jaykar Shinde aka Baba, a close associate of Bhonsle. During an interview with a leading daily, the actor stated that John Abraham may have played most of the roles of a serious person but in reality, he is quite fun-loving and jolly.

Rohit also compared his “Kaabil” co-star Hrithik Roshan with John Abraham and said that he thought he would never meet someone as secure as Hrithik but John is also like him and it seems that they both have been cut-out from the same piece of cloth.

This is not the first time that Rohit Roy is playing the character of an underworld gangster; earlier in “Shootout At Lokhandwala” also, he portrayed a gangster on the screen. However as per Rohit, both the characters are different from each other as in this flick, he is playing an 80 kg tough guy and for this role, he has gained weight.

It is being said that the shooting of “Mumbai Saga” will soon resume in the Ramoji Rao Film City, Hyderabad because the situation in Mumbai and Maharashtra is quite serious on account of the coronavirus pandemic.

The year 2020 is becoming a nightmare as if coronavirus was not enough to shatter us, we lost Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor and now Sushant Singh Rajput is also gone. The “Kedarnath” actor who used to perform as a background dancer at one point of time, impressed everyone with his acting on television and then he just left everyone awestruck with his powerful performances in movies.

Sushant took his life on 14^th June at his Bandra apartment and people are still not able to understand why he took such a drastic step. Recently, Sushant’s best friend Rohini Iyer took to Instagram and penned a tribute to her buddy and now Sushant’s BFF Mahesh Shetty also penned down an emotional tribute to his friend.

Mahesh Shetty is also an actor and he knew Sushant for the last 13 years, from the days when they both were trying to become actors. He posted an old photo of himself with Sushant Singh Rajput with the caption, “So much has been left unanswered and there’s so much more left to talk. I’ll tell you all about it, when I see you again!!!”

In his tribute, Mahesh talked about the period when they both used to spend a good amount of time together in Film City, Mumbai. He wrote that sometimes it happens that you meet someone and feel that you knew this person for a long time. He called Sushant his brother from another mother.

Mahesh also said that Sushant was filled with enthusiasm and not just for movies but for everything that came in his life. Mahesh called the “Kai Po Che!” star a child in an energy shop who was filled with energy. However, he is not happy with the fact that he doesn’t have many photos with Sushant but he is thankful for the fact that he has 13 years of good old memories with him.

R Ashwin talked about the 2015 Galle Test in which he took 10 wickets, although the Sri Lankan team won the test by 63 runs. Ashwin said that Virat asked him to bowl without covers to a left-hander Jehan Mubarak.

Ashwin said that the spell at Galle was like a dream as every time ball landed where he wanted it to land, the drift was in control and each time the ball touched the bat’s edge, it went to the fielder.

While talking to Harsha Bhogle in a show, Ashwin said that when Jehan Mubarak came to bat, fielders were placed at the cover, mid-on, mid-off, point, square leg and extra cover along with silly point and slip gully. Virat removed the fielder from covers and send him to leg slip and asked Ashwin to bowl a carom ball with no fielder at the covers.

Ashwin said that he was a little surprised and he told Virat that there were no covers for a left-hander. In response, the skipper said that he needed not worry about the boundary and just bowl. Ashwin did as Virat asked and Jehan Mubarak hit a catch at short leg which was taken by KL Rahul.

Undoubtedly, Virat is one of the best captains of the present time.

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput took his own life on 14^th June, 2020, leaving his family, relatives, friends and fans in a state of distress and disbelief. He was found hanging at his Bandra apartment and such a drastic step from a jovial person as Sushant was had shocked many. It is being said that he was suffering from depression and was undergoing the treatment for the same as well. Nevertheless, several reports suggest that he stopped taking his medicine for some time now and his house help also revealed that the actor was upset for past few days.

Many celebrities including politicians and people from film, television and sports industry took to social media to mourn Sushant’s departure while few celebs like Shraddha Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rhea Chakraborty attended his funeral instead of just expressing feelings on Twitter and Instagram and this gesture was appreciated by people.

It won’t be wrong to say that people who were close to Sushant could not come on terms with his departure for some time and didn’t understand what to say. They are now taking to social media and expressing their feelings.

Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor also recently shared few stories and post on Instagram while remembering her “Chhichhore” co-star and friend Sushant Singh Rajput.

One of her stories read, “There is the rare kind you meet; the one who makes you feel special, who makes you feel good about yourself, who showers you with kindness and love and HE was one of them”.

There is no denying the fact that Sushant was a versatile and multi-talented person and the vacuum created by his departure can never be filled. People have been very angry with Bollywood’s prominent personalities and blaming nepotism prevailed in the showbiz industry. An FIR has also been filed against some filmmakers and production houses for allegedly banning Sushant Singh Rajput.

Yuzvendra Chahal has become an important part of the Indian team due to his wicket-taking ability at crucial junctures. Recently, the Indian leggie talked about an Australian cricketer whom he has sent to pavilion six times in his career.

We are talking about Glenn Maxwell, the cricketer who has represented Australia in all the formats. Maxwell is a hard-hitting batsman who has a strike rate of 123.37 in ODIs and 160 in the T20I.

While talking on Mayank Agarwal’s chat show, Yuzvendra Chahal says that Maxwell doesn’t have patience and he always tries to play aggressive cricket whenever the Indian leggie has been asked to bowl by the skipper. Talking about a test match which was played in September 2017 at Holkar stadium, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Yuzi said that he confused the batsman by varying the pace and then MS Dhoni stumped him on wide-delivery. Maxwell was able to score only 5 (13) runs in that innings.

Yuzi further stated that the Holkar stadium has short boundaries so he and MS Dhoni planned to keep it wide off-stump. He added that the majority of the deliveries that he bowled to Glenn Maxwell were wide off-stump and he also made it a point to bowl some at the stumps as well. Yuzi said that Glenn didn’t have patience in that series and he was always looking for hitting ball hard so Mahi asked Chahal to keep on mixing his deliveries and bowl the wider one only when the chances of Glenn coming down the pitch were high.

Last time, Yuzvendra Chahal and Glenn Maxwell faced each other was in 2019 ICC World Cup. The Australian batsman was able to score only 28 runs in the match which was played at Kennington Oval in London.

The news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden departure left everyone in a shocked state and there are few who also have some regrets, such as national level cricketer Digvijay Deshmukh.

Digvijay Deshmukh has been selected by Mumbai Indians for participating in the IPL 2020 and he is regretting a decision which he made in the year 2013 when he was 15 years old. Digvijay played a small role in Abhishek Kapoor’s “Kai Po Che!” which was the debut flick of Sushant Singh Rajput. In that movie, Sushant played the character of Digvijay’s coach and they both shot together for nearly 6 months.

During an interview with a leading daily, Digvijay said that on the last day of the shoot, he promised Sushant that he would not meet him until he becomes a decent level cricketer. He didn’t even meet the actor when Sushant came to his city for promotions of “Kai Po Che!” However, now he is upset for making that decision.

He was looking forward to meet Sushant after he got selected by Mumbai Indians but then he was not able to meet him due to the lockdown and now Sushant is not in this world. Recalling the times when he shot with SSR, Digvijay said that the actor used to call him in the room in order to teach him about the scenes and angles of camera while shooting.

The cricketer who has represented Maharashtra in one First Class and seven List A clashes said that the “Kedarnath” actor was a very jolly person and devoted towards his work. Digvijay recalled that despite being a famous personality himself, Sushant used to ask him about cricket as Digvijay was a professional cricketer by that time.

Digvijay Deshmukh, the 22 years old cricketer, made his debut recently when he played for Maharashtra in 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament.

We are sure that there will be many others who would have been missing Sushant Singh Rajput. RIP!
