Aussie Cricketers Were Afraid Of Sledging Virat Kohli To Save IPL Contracts, Reveals Michael Clarke

Almost every cricketer of the world dreams to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as it is certainly a great platform to gain experience and it is quite lucrative in monetary terms as well. Many Australian players have also played in the league and some of them have even served as the captain of the IPL teams. However Michael Clarke, the former Australian cricketer, feels that because of IPL, the Australian cricketers have become softer or less aggressive towards the Indian players.

The former Australian skipper said that everybody is aware of the power of India in terms of finance whether it is at international level or domestic. The 39 years old cricketer feels that the cricketers of Australia and other teams as well went soft against Indians as they didn’t want to lose on their IPL contracts. As per him, the Aussies and other players are afraid of sledging Indian cricketers, especially Virat Kohli as they have to play along with them in April.

Michael Clarke further adds that many players want to play in IPL and they don’t sledge Virat as they want to get a good IPL contract. While speaking a chat show, Michael said that there was a time when Australian cricketers went very soft against Virat and other cricketers as they wanted to get selected for Bangalore so that they could earn $1 million in just six weeks. Clarke further added that this was the phase when Australian cricketers were not as aggressive as they used to be.

IPL 2020 was supposed to start from March 29 but it has been postponed till April 15 after there was considerable increase in the number of coronavirus patients in India as well as in the world. Taking a look at the present scenario, it won’t be wrong to say that there are strong chances of the tournament getting cancelled or postponed further.

Do you agree with what Michael Clarke said?

Harbhajan Talks About Playing IPL Without Crowd & Behind Closed Doors

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the biggest sporting events of the world and cricket lovers are quite disappointed now as the thirteenth season of the league has been postponed till April 15. IPL 2020 was supposed to start on March 29 but as the number of coronavirus patients started increasing, the decision of postponing IPL was taken.

However if we take a look at the present condition, the chances of IPL taking place this year are pretty low but there is news that BCCI may organize the tournament in the second half of the year on the expense of any bilateral series or international tournament. Things will get clear once BCCI will make a statement in this regard.

Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh who is a member of the IPL team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has opened up on this matter and he seems to ready to play IPL in the empty stadiums. Bhajji was speaking on a TV show of a sports channel and he said that there is no doubt spectators are necessary but he is also ready to play without them. The Indian spinner further said that he will certainly miss the environment but at least cricket fans will be able to watch IPL on their televisions.

He was also very much concerned with the safety of players as he said that the safety of players should be priority and it should be ensured that the hotels, flights, venues, etc. are properly sanitized. Nevertheless at one fell swoop, he also added that IPL should be organized only if things are completely okay as many lives will be on stake. Harbhajan said that he is missing matches, visit to stadiums, fans and so on, adding that he wanted to play all the 17 matches including the final.

The opening match of IPL 2020 was supposed to be played between MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings and Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians (MI). Last IPL was won by MI after they defeated CSK in the finals. MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper, was also supposed to make a comeback on the cricket field with IPL 2020 as he has not played since the World Cup 2019.

Let’s just wait for BCCI to make an official announcement regarding IPL, till then please stay at home and practice social distancing to stay safe.

Jaydev Compares Cutting Beans With Pujara’s Ranji Final Innings, Gets A Hilarious Reply From Him

The Indian cricketers are presently sitting inside their houses as the coronavirus outbreak has compelled each one of us to remain indoors to save ourselves from getting infected. While some players are getting active on social media networks and interacting with their fans or colleagues, several others are letting their fans know how they are spending time in the 21 days lockdown period.

Indian cricketer Jaydev Unadkat under whose captaincy the Saurashtra team won the Ranji Trophy recently took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and posted a photo in which he showed the vegetables that he chopped. He also wrote heartwarming message for his mother as she has done such things infinite times but never showed off.

Jaydev Unadkat’s tweet read, “By, Yours truly.. To, The Mother.. (who does it infinite times without any such show-off & appreciation)  #QuarantineLife”

In another tweet, he talked about cutting the beans which required a lot of patience just the like the innings played by Cheteshwar Pujara in the finals of the Ranji Trophy.

He tweeted, “Also, I must add cutting the cluster beans did require a lot of patience..😂 @cheteshwar1 Your Ranji final innings gave me a fresh shot of patience when I was about to give up! 😉

In the finals of the Ranji Trophy, Cheteshwar Pujara scored 66 runs for which he played 237 balls and his strike rate was 27.85. Pujara is known for taking time in scoring runs but there is no denying the fact that he has played many important innings at both national and international levels as well.

The Indian cricketer and Jaydev’s Saurashtra teammate Cheteshwar Pujara also responded quickly with a funny tweet, saying that he thought Jaydev would have been preparing for life after marriage.

Cheteshwar Pujara tweeted, “Ohhh I thought you were prepping for life after marriage”.

Jaydev Unadkat got married last month only so this tweet by Cheteshwar Pujara was quite bang on.

How are you spending your quarantine?

Nagpur Police Used Shah Rukh & Deepika’s Chennai Express Meme To Spread Awareness About COVID-19

The Indian government and various departments are using each and every medium to spread awareness about the coronavirus outbreak and telling people about the precautions that they should take in order to keep themselves safe. While remaining indoors is the best way to break the chain of coronavirus transmission, social distancing comes into play when people have to go out for very important purposes.

Coronavirus is contagious in nature and it is advised that people should maintain a distance of 1 meter from each other whenever they are in public places. The Nagpur police has also used its official Twitter handle for imparting knowledge about the importance of social distancing but in Bollywood style.

The Nagpur Police has used a scene from the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer “Chennai Express” in which both the actors are seen sitting on the opposite sides of a bench. A two way arrow is drawn between them with social distancing written on it and the caption is also inspired from a dialogue of the movie, “Don’t underestimate the power of a common man”.

Nagpur Police changes the dialogue to, “Don’t underestimate the power of Social Distancing! #NagpurPolice”

Check out the tweet:

Twitter got impressed with this creativity and this is how people praised Nagpur Police for the tweet:

Amitabh Bachchan Shared A Fake #9Pm9Minutes photo, Twitter Asked Him To Uninstall WhatsApp

Social media has indeed given people a vital platform to share their opinion, enhance knowledge, interact with friends and relatives who are far away and exchange information on various topics; however, just like the two sides of a coin, social media has also its positive and negative effects and it completely depends upon the user how he/she utilizes the network. There is no denying the fact that fake messages and false reports spread more easily and faster as they attract people quickly. Netizens often fall a prey to fake forwards and send them to many other people or groups even without verifying whether the news is true or not.

For celebrities, it becomes more important to validate the authenticity of anything they share with their fans in view of the fact that they are followed by a large mass and whatever they post on social media affects a number of people in a very short time. Hence, the spreading of fake pics or news can lead to unfavourable results and something of the similar sort happened with megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Big B is very much active on the virtual world, especially on the micro-blogging site Twitter where he interacts with fans, shares updates and expresses his views over different matters on a regular basis.

We know that the whole world is fighting coronavirus which has been declared as pandemic and taken lives of more than 69,000 while over 12.5 lakhs people are affected with the lethal virus worldwide. If we talk about India only, 109 people have succumbed to COVID-19 which has infected around 4,000 people in the country. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, often interacts with the citizens in this regard and recently, he asked Indians to switch off all the lights of their houses on April 5 at 9 pm, come in balcony and light diya or candles to omit the darkness or corona.

Big B took to Twitter and shared a pic of glowing India on the world map at that time but unfortunately for him, it turned out to be fake and made the actor an object of mockery on social media.

First of all, take a look at Amitabh’s tweet:

This tweet from such a legendary and respected actor didn’t go well with Twitterati and people asked Senior Bachchan to uninstall WhatsApp from his phone. This is how netizens reacted to Big B’s tweet:

Rohit Sharma Trolls People Who Burnt Firecrackers On April 5 With A Satirical Tweet

The Indian government has imposed a lockdown of 21 days in the country because of the coronavirus outbreak which has already infected more than 4000 people and taken lives of over 100 individuals in the nation.

The Indian Prime Minister has been addressing the Indian citizens time and again; last time when he addressed the nation, he asked everyone to switch off the lights of their houses on 5th April at 9 pm for 9 minutes and come out of their houses or in balconies and light diyas, candles or illuminate the area by torch or mobile flashlight. He carried out this initiative in order to make everyone feel that we are together in this battle and we will definitely overcome the darkness of corona.

He also clarified that no one should come out of the house and this exercise should be carried out in the houses among the family members only. However, there were some enthusiastic people who went on to celebrate mini Diwali by burning crackers.

Social media users slammed such people who burned crackers and Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma also took a jibe at them by saying that there is no need to celebrate as World Cup is still some time away.

Hitman took to Twitter and wrote, “Stay indoors India, don’t go out on the streets celebrating. World Cup is still some time away”.

The T20 World Cup 2020 is scheduled to take place in October in Australia; however, it will take place or not will depend on the situation prevailing in the world at that time as coronavirus has left the whole world in a state of shock. The IPL 2020 which was supposed to start on March 29 has been postponed till April 15 and there are very good chances of it getting cancelled or delayed further.

We also request our readers to listen to PM Modi carefully and don’t get over enthusiastic because one small mistake can bring a very big disaster in your life and it will also affect your loved ones in an adverse manner.
