Nagpur Police Used Shah Rukh & Deepika’s Chennai Express Meme To Spread Awareness About COVID-19

The Indian government and various departments are using each and every medium to spread awareness about the coronavirus outbreak and telling people about the precautions that they should take in order to keep themselves safe. While remaining indoors is the best way to break the chain of coronavirus transmission, social distancing comes into play when people have to go out for very important purposes.

Coronavirus is contagious in nature and it is advised that people should maintain a distance of 1 meter from each other whenever they are in public places. The Nagpur police has also used its official Twitter handle for imparting knowledge about the importance of social distancing but in Bollywood style.

The Nagpur Police has used a scene from the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer “Chennai Express” in which both the actors are seen sitting on the opposite sides of a bench. A two way arrow is drawn between them with social distancing written on it and the caption is also inspired from a dialogue of the movie, “Don’t underestimate the power of a common man”.

Nagpur Police changes the dialogue to, “Don’t underestimate the power of Social Distancing! #NagpurPolice”

Check out the tweet:

Twitter got impressed with this creativity and this is how people praised Nagpur Police for the tweet:

Amitabh Bachchan Shared A Fake #9Pm9Minutes photo, Twitter Asked Him To Uninstall WhatsApp

Social media has indeed given people a vital platform to share their opinion, enhance knowledge, interact with friends and relatives who are far away and exchange information on various topics; however, just like the two sides of a coin, social media has also its positive and negative effects and it completely depends upon the user how he/she utilizes the network. There is no denying the fact that fake messages and false reports spread more easily and faster as they attract people quickly. Netizens often fall a prey to fake forwards and send them to many other people or groups even without verifying whether the news is true or not.

For celebrities, it becomes more important to validate the authenticity of anything they share with their fans in view of the fact that they are followed by a large mass and whatever they post on social media affects a number of people in a very short time. Hence, the spreading of fake pics or news can lead to unfavourable results and something of the similar sort happened with megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Big B is very much active on the virtual world, especially on the micro-blogging site Twitter where he interacts with fans, shares updates and expresses his views over different matters on a regular basis.

We know that the whole world is fighting coronavirus which has been declared as pandemic and taken lives of more than 69,000 while over 12.5 lakhs people are affected with the lethal virus worldwide. If we talk about India only, 109 people have succumbed to COVID-19 which has infected around 4,000 people in the country. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, often interacts with the citizens in this regard and recently, he asked Indians to switch off all the lights of their houses on April 5 at 9 pm, come in balcony and light diya or candles to omit the darkness or corona.

Big B took to Twitter and shared a pic of glowing India on the world map at that time but unfortunately for him, it turned out to be fake and made the actor an object of mockery on social media.

First of all, take a look at Amitabh’s tweet:

This tweet from such a legendary and respected actor didn’t go well with Twitterati and people asked Senior Bachchan to uninstall WhatsApp from his phone. This is how netizens reacted to Big B’s tweet:

Hitman took to Twitter and wrote, “Stay indoors India, don’t go out on the streets celebrating. World Cup is still some time away”.

The T20 World Cup 2020 is scheduled to take place in October in Australia; however, it will take place or not will depend on the situation prevailing in the world at that time as coronavirus has left the whole world in a state of shock. Dhoni’s Daughter Ziva Turns Makeup Artist For Dhoni, Sapna Bhavnani Has A Beautiful Reaction

MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper, is out of cricketing circuits for almost a year now but there is no decrease in his popularity and fan following. In fact, his fans were waiting eagerly for Indian Premier League as Mahi was supposed to lead Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the thirteenth season of IPL. But IPL 2020 has been postponed till April 15 due to the coronavirus outbreak and now the chances of it getting cancelled or delayed further are pretty good.

If IPL doesn’t take place before the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 which is going to be held in Australia in October, the probability of Dhoni joining the Indian squad is almost nil as Ravi Shastri, the head coach of team India, said that Dhoni’s return in the squad will depend a lot on his performance in IPL 2020. However, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman has always maintained a silence on the issues of his return in the team or his retirement from the international cricket.

He has been spotted enjoying vacations with his family members and nowadays a video is going viral in which Dhoni is seen with his daughter Ziva and the 5 years old cutie has turned into a makeup artist for her father.

This video was shot earlier this year when Dhoni went to Mumbai for an ad shoot and it was shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter by celebrity hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani. In the video, Sapna can be heard teaching Ziva on how to do makeup of her father, she wrote the caption, “I think I have lost my job to this cutie pie #zivasingh #dhoni #MSDhoni #COVID2019 hai na?”

Here’s the video:

Dhoni last played for India in the semi-final of ICC World Cup 2019 which India lost to New Zealand. Since then, he has made himself unavailable for the selection and many former cricketers have raised doubt over Dhoni’s return in the Indian squad as he has not played cricket for a long time now.

As of now, the whole world is compelled to stay inside their houses due to the coronavirus outbreak as it has already taken more than 69K lives while over 12.5 lakh people have been found infected with it.

Stay at home and stay safe!

Indians Celebrated Mini Diwali In April By Lighting Diyas & Burning Crackers At 9PM

The coronavirus outbreak has put the entire world to a standstill as a number of nations have been under complete lockdown to break the chain of the COVID-19 virus. In India also, lockdown of 21 days has been imposed by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi during which people are requested to stay indoors, maintain social distancing and go out only if it’s very necessary.

Representational Image

Earlier on March 22, Sunday, PM Modi imposed Janta Curfew and urged people to stay at home from 7am to 9pm. He also asked people to come out on their gates or balcony at 5pm and make sounds by ringing bells, beating utensils, clapping, blowing conch, etc. to show gratitude towards corona warriors who have been working day and night to protect the country.

Once again, the Indian Prime Minister made a request to the Indian citizens and asked them to switch off all the lights of the home at 9pm for 9 minutes on April 5 and light diyas or candles or illuminate the surroundings with torch or flashlight of mobile phones. It’s indeed a matter of great pride that a majority of the citizens obeyed what their leader asked them to do and the scenes which went viral online give an idea of India celebrating Mini Diwali in the month of April. Some people were so enthusiastic that they also burnt firecrackers apart from lighting diyas and candles.

Indisputably, it shows how Indians stand in solidarity in tough times and have the will to fight the lethal virus by following the advices of the Indian government and the medical experts. Be it poor or rich industrialists like Mukesh Ambani and Ratan Tata or celebrities from the film industry and sports world, everyone lit diyas to answer PM Modi’s call.

It’s pretty obvious for such special events to trend on social media and netizens shared how they celebrated it. From lighting candles to burning firecrackers, Twitter was lit with posts that speak highly of India’s harmony. Check out some of the selected reactions:

However, some people behaved as stupid and gathered outdoor, making a joke of social distancing. Raja Singh, BJP MP from Telangana, was one such example who took out a procession with his supporters and shouted, “Go back, go back, Chinese virus go back”. You can see in the tweet made by him that he and many of his supporters have not even covered their faces with mask.

The condition all over the world is grim as more than 12.50 lakh people have been found infected with novel COVID-19 and over 69K have lost their lives. As far as India is concerned, things were under control until Tablighi Jamaat episode didn’t happen. The cases in India have doubled in almost 4 days and as of now, there are more than 4000 people who are infected while 118 have lost their lives.

Stay at home, stay safe!

Shreyas Iyer Reacts On The Question Of Becoming Future Captain Of The Indian Team

The Indian cricket team was searching for a suitable candidate for the number 4 position for a long time but that search came to an end during the New Zealand tour. The NZ tour was quite miserable for team India as they lost the 3-match ODI series and the 2-match test series as well despite whitewashing the hosts by 5-0 in the T20I series.

Shreyas Iyer, the young Indian cricketer, utilized the opportunity that he got in the ODI series against New Zealand as he scored a 100 in the first match and then he scored 50 plus score in the remaining two matches. Shreyas is also the captain of IPL team Delhi Capitals and in IPL 2019, DC finished third which is its best performance since 2012. During an interview, the Mumbai cricketer talked about the different phases of his cricketing career.

When Shreyas Iyer was asked about how he felt after getting India cap, he said that he didn’t get much emotional as he always felt that he should have got it earlier, so he was just normal.

Shreyas is also referred to as the next captain of the Indian team by his fans but when he was asked about it, he said that he is not thinking about it as he just wants to enjoy the present.

He also talked about the reaction of former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid when the latter saw the former batting for the first time. Shreyas recalled that it was a four-day match and the last over of the first day. He was batting at the score of 30 something when everyone was thinking that he would play it safe as it was the last over; however as the bowler tossed the ball in the air, Shreyas hit it for a six. After he returned to the dressing room, Rahul Dravid came to him and asked what type of stroke he played in the last over. Shreyas said that now he understands what Rahul Dravid wanted to convey him in view of the fact that he is fully aware of the value of his wicket.

The 25 years old player first got the chance to play for India in 2017 in Delhi against New Zealand but he didn’t get the chance to bat in that match and later, he got the chance to play against Sri Lanka in Dharamsala.

Shreyas got famous in 2014 after he played for the U-19 team at the World Cup. He played great knocks in the domestic cricket but didn’t get the chance to debut at international level until 2017 and even after that, he didn’t get good chances.

Fortunately for the DC skipper, he started getting chances after the WC 2019 and he used all the opportunities to the maximum. Shreyas Iyer has played 18 ODIs till now and has scored total 748 runs while in 22 T20Is, he has scored 417 runs.

We wish him all the best for his future endeavours!
