The coronavirus outbreak has forced each one of us to stay at home if we want to save ourselves from the lethal virus which is contagious in nature. The Indian cricketers and Bollywood celebs are making a good use of social media networks by spreading awareness about the disease and requesting their fans and followers to listen to the government and the medical authorities.

Recently, Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and made a tweet in which he also referred to the mankading episode which took place in the IPL match played between Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Rajasthan Royals (RR).
At that time, Ashwin was the skipper of KXIP and he mankaded RR batsman Jos Butler when the latter was out of the crease even before Ashwin threw the ball. Ashwin was criticised a lot by many fans and former cricketers as well for going against the spirit of the game but it didn’t affect him as he said that he did the right thing and he will do it again if he gets a chance as it is with the laws of the game.

Ashwin posted that tweet on the first day of lockdown, asking everyone to stay inside and stay safe. He posted a photo in which he is seen mankading Jos Buttler and his tweet read,
“Hahaha, somebody sent me this and told me it’s exactly been 1 year since this run out happened. As the nation goes into a lockdown, this is a good reminder to my citizens. Don’t wander out. Stay inside, stay safe! #21DayLockdown”.
While Ashwin posted this tweet in a good spirit, the official Twitter handle of Rajasthan Royals responded in a sassy manner, “How to keep distance from memories during a #21daylockdown?”
Ashwin also responded soon and tweeted, “Oh God.. not again..no offence”.
The coronavirus outbreak has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization and this virus which originated from China has taken lives of more than 24,000 people worldwide while over 5.5 lakh persons have been found infected with it.
We sincerely request our readers to stay at home and stay safe!

If we talk about India, the number of infected cases is more than 700 while over 15 people have lost their lives. The whole nation is under lockdown till April 15 and it has also affected the sports sector in a pretty bad manner. IPL 2020 which was supposed to start from March 29 has been postponed till April 15 but after the lockdown, the chances of IPL taking place seem very low; however BCCI has not made any official announcement in this regard.
We will also request our readers to stay at home and practice social distancing to be safe from the lethal virus!

There is no denying the fact that the coronavirus outbreak has brought the whole world to a standstill and the sporting sector is no exception to it as well. Many sporting events including one of the biggest cricketing events of the world, i.e., Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) which was supposed to start from March 29, 2020 has also been postponed till April 15.
Recently, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day lockdown which will get over by April 15 and this has reduced the chances of IPL taking place this year. All the citizens including the cricketers are compelled to sit at home and some players are using this time to spread awareness about coronavirus and also to interact with fans through their social media accounts.

Rohit Sharma, the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team, is pretty active on social media and recently, he had an online chat with his friend and teammate Yuzvendra Chahal. During this chat on Instagram Live, the leg-spinner asked Rohit Sharma about the fate of Indian Premier League 2020 and in reply, Rohit Sharma said that IPL can wait as the country comes first. Rohit said that the situation needs to improve and when things get normal, IPL can be talked about.
This is what Rohit Sharma said, “We should first think about the country. The situation needs to get better first then we can talk about the IPL. Let life get back to normal first.”
Rohit was also happy with the fact that due to coronavirus, the cricketers are able to spend time with their family, which usually doesn’t happen as they are mostly on tours and playing cricket. The skipper of the IPL team Mumbai Indians also said that he has never seen Mumbai like this while pointing towards the empty roads.

Rohit Sharma last played for India in the T20 series against New Zealand but he was not able to play in the ODIs and test match series as he got injured during the T20 series. He was not picked for the India-South Africa series also as he hadn’t recovered completely from his hamstring injury. However, the India-South Africa series was cancelled as the number of patients of coronavirus was increasing at good rate.
Do you think that IPL will take place this year? Let us know your opinion.

The number of coronavirus patients is increasing at a very fast pace and the situation in some countries, especially Italy, is no less than the worst nightmare where around 700 people are losing their lives in a day. The Indian government was in no mood to let the situation deteriorate further so it decided to impose a lockdown of 21 days all over India. The main motive of this lockdown is to keep people inside their houses so that the chain of coronavirus is broken and the transmission of the virus can be brought to halt. PM Modi has requested the people to remain indoors till April 15 as this is the best way to combat this lethal virus.

It is not just India which is under lockdown; many countries of the world have imposed lockdown in order to save their citizens from this life-taking virus for which no vaccine is available in the market. While some people are using this lockdown as an opportunity to spend time with family members, several others are utilising it to read those books which they wanted to read for a long time but could not due to their busy schedules while few others are just busy in watching web series.
However, the extroverts are pretty unhappy with this lockdown as they are the ones for whom remaining at home for a day is cumbersome since they love going out and meeting new people but now they have to stay at home for 21 days. On the other hand, the introverts are loving this period as now they don’t need to go out and meet people which is an actually tough task for them.
Twitterati got creative and described the emotions of extroverts and introverts in the form of memes and here are some of the selected ones:

The capital of India, New Delhi is famous for many things including the high level of pollution but things seem to improve considerably in this lockdown period. If you remember, the pollution level of Delhi was so high that the apex court of the country called the city a gas chamber.

It was also reported that many people were falling ill due to the bad quality of air and it also included the youngsters and kids. The Delhi government came up with the odd-even rule as well but nothing satisfactory happened and the citizens of Delhi kept on suffering owing to the bad quality of air.
However, there is good news for Delhites since no vehicles are running on the road, the air quality index (AQI) of Delhi which has earlier crossed the mark of 300 is now in 60s or even less than that. As per the recent reports, the air quality index has come below the yellow zone and all credit goes to the lockdown imposed by the Indian government.

The Indian Twitterati celebrated this new development and here are some of the selected tweets:

The lockdown is the result of the coronavirus outbreak which has already taken lives of 22,000 people worldwide and more than 4,88,000 people have been infected with it all over the globe. The Indian government took this drastic step of lockdown because the number of cases in India was also increasing and it became necessary to keep people at home in order to break the chain of COVID-19 so that the transmission of this virus can be brought to an end. If we talk about India, the total number of infected cases here is around 650 while 14 people have lost their lives.
In such a scenario, the best way to combat the coronavirus is to stay at home as it keeps us safe from catching the virus considering the fact that it is contagious in nature.
But the citizens of Delhi definitely have something to rejoice as they can breathe good quality of air, even though for limited period only.

Rahul Dravid, the former legendary Indian cricketer, is one of the most respected players all over the world and his contribution towards the Indian cricket is immense. Even after getting retired, he kept on working for the development of the Indian cricket and the under-19 team of India won the World Cup under his coaching. Presently, he is serving as the director of National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru.

Recently, Dravid talked about the reasons responsible for the failure of IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and he also compared it with one of the most successful teams of the league, Chennai Super Kings (CSK). This analysis given by Rahul Dravid is published in a book titled as ‘Cricket 2.0 – Inside the T20 revolution’ which has been authored by Freddie Wilde and Tim Wigmore.
One big difference between CSK and the other teams is that its owner India Cements was already in the business of managing cricket teams so despite the fact that CSK was a high profile team, India Cements was better prepared than any other team of the tournament.

Dravid also talked about the choices made by RCB; he said that RCB had been very poor when it came to selection and auctions. He further said that RCB never had a balanced team; in fact their best year was when bowler Mitchell Starc was in their team but they always chose to focus on picking good batsman.
In regard to CSK, Dravid said that Chennai always had a good bowling unit which has contributed a lot in their success. He also said that RCB has always struggled when it comes to picking the tight combination. As per Rahul Dravid, whenever it seemed that they would be picking a gun bowler, they spent Rs. 15 crore on Yuvraj Singh which was not needed at all and then they were not left with enough money for a good bowler.
Rahul also feels that CSK has grown so much because of the fact that some players including skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo have been with the team for quite a long time now. RCB has had some big stars of the cricket world in their team, such as Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle but they have never been able to win the IPL trophy.

IPL 2020 was scheduled to start from March 29 but now it has been postponed till April 15 due to the coronavirus outbreak. Presently, the cricketers all over the globe are sitting at their homes as all the cricketing as well as other sporting events have been cancelled or postponed.
Do you agree with the views of Rahul Dravid?
