Ricky Ponting Shares Pic Of Bat He Used In 2003 World Cup Final, Twitter Asks, “Spring Kahan Hai?”

Ricky Ponting, the former Australian cricketer, is one of the greatest batsmen as well as one of the most successful skippers of the world. The right-handed batsman made his debut for Australia in the year 1995 against Sri Lanka and what makes him special is the fact that he was a part of the world cup winning teams three times – 1999, 2003 & 2007. In the year 2003 and 2007, he was the skipper of the team and led his team from the front.

The win in 2003 was quite special for Ricky Ponting as just two days after the start of the World Cup campaign, Shane Warne was sent back because he was found positive for a substance which is banned. Problems for Ponting increased further when Jason Gillespie got injured but he showed his leadership skills because of which the Australian team remained unbeaten in the tournament and won the cup after defeating Sourav Ganguly led Indian team in the final.

In the 2003 final, Australia batted first and gave a target of 360 runs to the Indian team with the help of powerful hitting of Adam Gilchrist and brilliant knocks of Ricky Ponting and Damien Martyn. Ponting scored 140 runs which included 8 sixes and 4 fours. In response, the whole Indian team got out for 234, making it completely a one-sided match.

On March 23, Cricket Australia shared a video of the innings of Ricky Ponting as that final was also played on March 23 that year. The caption that Cricket Australia wrote with the video was, “On this day 17 years ago, @RickyPonting produced one of the all-time great innings as Australia claimed the 2003 World Cup title!”.

Soon the former Australian skipper also took to Twitter and shared the photo of the bat with which he played in 2003 final.

Ricky Ponting tweeted, “Given we’ve all got a bit of time on our hands as we stay at home, thought I’d go through what I’ve kept from my career and share some of it with everyone on a regular basis – this is the bat I used in the 2003 World Cup final”.

After the 2003 final, a rumour was doing rounds as per which Ricky Ponting had a spring in his bat’s handle as he scored 8 sixes pretty easily. The Indians started to troll Ricky and asked him to show the spring as well. Here are some of the selected tweets:

Shahid Kapoor Responds To A Fan Who Asks, “Do You Like Salman Khan?”

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has a pretty huge fan following, especially among the youth, and he is loved not only for his acting but for his dancing skills as well.

Presently, the “Ishq Vishk” actor is spending time with his family at home because of the lockdown which has been imposed by the government due to the coronavirus outbreak. This COVID-19 virus has already taken lives of more than 16,000 people while over 3,80,000 people have been found infected with it.

Shahid recently started an “Ask Me” session on Instagram during which he talked about many interesting things and responded to a number of questions, but one answer that he gave was loved by many. One fan of Shahid asked him whether he loves Bollwyood actor Salman Khan or not. The question read, “Do you like Salman Khan?”

Salman Khan and Shahid Kapoor have never worked together in a movie, however in Shahid’s “Phata Poster Nikla Hero”, Salman did a cameo in which he acted as himself.

Talking about the question, Shahid responded with, “Everyone loves bhai!” and also posted a heart emoticon with his answer.

Salman Khan was busy with the shooting of “Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai” with Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff but at present, he is also staying at home as the shooting of films has been stalled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Shahid Kapoor’s last movie “Kabir Singh” was a blockbuster that broke many records and created history on the box-office. “Kabir Singh” was directed by Sandeep Vanga and starred Kiara Advani in the female lead. The flick was a remake of a southern film “Arjun Reddy” and although the character of Kabir Singh was criticised for being rude, aggressive and violent, the movie managed to earn accolades from the critics and fans alike. The “Jab We Met” star is now all set for his next release “Jersey” which is also a remake of a southern flick of the same name and in the Hindi version, Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor will play important roles too.

Stay at home, stay safe!

When Kareena Kapoor Made Fun Of Priyanka’s Accent & PeeCee Gave A Kickass Response

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are two talented actresses of Bollywood and they have worked together in few movies, such as “Aitraaz”, “Don”, etc. Both the divas may be having cordial relations now but there was a time when they never missed a chance to disrespect each other. It all began when Bebo referred to Rani Mukerji as her competition in Bollywood but refused to even consider Priyanka an actor.

The enmity further increased when Kareena called herself the best actress of the industry in Karan Johar’s talk show Koffee With Karan and when she was asked that who is the next best actress after her, Kareena said that if there is a slight bit of act in actress, then it would be PeeCee.

In response, Priyanka said that Kareena was correct because if there is any actress who knows how to act, it has to be her. She also said that often people take her lightly but she should also get the credit.

Later in the talk show, Kareena again made fun of Priyanka’s accent and jokingly asked from where she got that. When Desi Girl was asked to react on this, she said that she got her accent from the same place from where Kareena’s boyfriend got that.

Priyanka is now an international star and she has been a part of many Hollywood projects as well while Kareena was last seen in “Good Newwz” which was a blockbuster.

Ashwin Slams People Who Find Faults In System Instead Of Following Govt’s Instructions

The world is going through a tough phase as coronavirus has taken more than 14K lives while over 3,40,000 people are suffering from it. But what is more worrisome is the fact that the number of cases is increasing at an alarming rate and despite the fact that the governments are advising people to stay at home and maintain social distancing, there are some individuals who are not in the mood to listen to anyone.

Representational Image

There is no denying the fact that everyone has the right to express their views and disagree with others but in such a scenario, people should only focus on one thing and that is to follow the instructions given by the government and the medical authorities.

In India also, schools, colleges, cinema halls, gyms, swimming pools and other places where mass gathering can take place have already been closed and Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) has also been postponed till April 15. Situation in India is under control at the moment but things may get worse if the measures are not implemented properly in the future as well. The number of infected cases in India are 415 at the moment and 7 people have lost their lives. While the majority of the country is in stage 2, some cities or areas have shown the sign of entering the third stage which is quite worrying and has resulted in complete lockdown of some cities or states.

Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin who is a part of IPL team Delhi Capitals is not very happy with the manner in which some people are behaving and trying to find fault in the system rather than doing their bit and practice social distancing.

He tweeted, “People finding faults with actions of others or pointing out what’s wrong with our system, just take a break and look inwards while you strictly practice ‘social media distancing’. That will be your biggest contribution towards the harmony of the society. 👍🏻 Jai hind”

Staying at home, travelling only if very necessary and maintaining social distance is the need of the hour as the disease is contagious in nature and can take a dangerous form if not controlled on time.

Do you agree with what Ravichandran Ashwin tweeted?

Rohit Sharma Tweeted A Beautiful Message Amid Coronavirus Scare

The coronavirus outbreak has scared everyone a lot as the number of infected cases is rising by each passing day and many people have lost their lives as well. If we talk about the world, more than 3,50,000 people have been infected with coronavirus while more than 15,000 have lost their lives. If we talk about only India, the number of infected cases has risen drastically in 48 hours taking the count tally to 415 while 7 people have succumbed to this disease.

The condition in China, Iran and Italy is quite disturbing and the situation in India may also get worse if some Indian citizens keep on disobeying the Indian government. While the government is asking everyone to stay at home and maintain social distancing, there are some who are roaming outside as if nothing has happened and they give a damn to what the government and medical authorities say.

Amidst all this, Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has given a beautiful message to his fans. He told them that though the present scenario is tough, Mother Earth has found a way to heal itself. He said that we always wanted to restore the climate of our planet and thought that it is too late for it but in such a short time, even small changes are bringing great results. He talked about the drop in noise and air pollution levels in India and also described how swans have returned in Italy while dolphins are seen near the shore in Venice.

Here is what Rohit Sharma posted,

“Through these extremely difficult and dangerous times, Mother Earth has found a way to heal. Our planet has shown us what a difference a lifestyle change can make even in a short amount of time. We always wondered if it was too late to combat climate change but Mother Earth has shown us that we can reverse it and help her heal if we all do it together.

Through these testing times India has seen a major drop in its air and noise pollution levels, Venice has dolphins playing in their harbours, boars running around their streets, Rome has swans in their fountains and the pollution levels have dropped all over the world! This is the world we need to protect.”

Rohit Sharma is the captain of the IPL team Mumbai Indians. There is no surety whether IPL 2020 will take place this year or not; however for the time being, it has been postponed till April 25.

Very well said, Rohit Sharma!

ICC Shares An Interesting Isolation Game Amid COVID-19 Outbreak, David Warner’s Response Is Funny

The coronavirus outbreak has compelled us to stay at home in order to save ourselves from the disease which has already taken lives of more than 14,000 people and presently over 3,40,000 people have been found infected with it. Many people are working from home so that the effect on their profession can be reduced but it is almost impossible for cricketers to work from home. In order to help the players in spending their time at home or in isolation, the International Council of Cricket (ICC) took to Twitter and posted a number game for the cricketers and the fans as well.

In this game, ICC used names of 12 cricketers, one cricketer for each month and 0-9 digits and in front of each digit a task was written, such as shadow batting, making TikTok videos, gardening, taking perfect selfie, playing book cricket, cooking favourite dish, and so on.

The caption of the post tells how to select the quarantine partner as it read, “Your birth month is the cricketer you get to spend time with and the last digit of your phone number is what you are doing.”

Here is the post by ICC:

The quarantine partner of the player will be the cricketer whose name is written in front of the birth month of the player and the task that they both will do will be decided by the last digit of the cricketer’s mobile number.

While many cricket fans started sharing their quarantine partner and what task they will be doing with him, Australian cricketer David Warner also took to Twitter and played this Isolation game. Warner tweeted that his quarantine partner is Kane Williamson and they both will be doing TikTok videos.

Here’s the tweet made by David Warner:

It clearly implicates that Warner’s birth month is October and the last digit of his mobile number is 1.

Co-Incidentally, David Warner and Kane Williamson both play for the same IPL franchise – Sunrisers Hyderabad. IPL 2020 was slated to start from March 29 but now it has been postponed till April 15 due to coronavirus scare.

Sehwag Urges People To Take Precaution Amid Coronavirus Scare In The Most Hilarious Way

The COVID-19 virus has left the world in a state of fear as the situation is already quite serious and controlling it and bringing it back to normal will be an uphill task, especially in countries like Italy, Spain, Iran, etc. Till the time this article was written, the number of the infected persons all over the world is more than 3,40,000 while the number of people who have lost their lives due to this disease has crossed the 14,000 mark.

As of now, India is at the stage 2 but if we enter the 3rd stage, it will be a nightmare for a country which has a population of around 1.3 billion and things may get worse than Italy. Many celebrities are using their popularity for spreading awareness about the disease and one of them is the former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag.

Viru recently took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and posted a photo of a truck’s backside on which it was written, “Keep Distance”.

The caption written by the explosive batsman was,

“Truck ka paalan kijiye.

Please follow this. #Covid_19”

At this moment, social distancing is the need of the hour as the disease is contagious in nature and it can spread if people come near to each other. The government and medical authorities have also asked people to stay at home, travel only if necessary and practice social distancing.

Earlier also, Virender Sehwag made a tweet for spreading awareness about social distancing which showed a girl doing “Corona Mukt Aasan” by not letting anyone sit near her using her flexibility. Here is the tweet:

We also request our readers to practice social distancing, stay at home and remain safe!
