IPL Teams CSK & DC Celebrated Janta Curfew With Extreme Zeal & These Videos Are A Must Watch

The number of coronavirus patients is increasing with each passing day not just in the world but in India as well. If we talk about our country, the number of patients who have been found infected with COVID-19 has reached to 396 while 7 people have lost their lives due to this.

In order to fight coronavirus, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the whole nation to support Janta Curfew on March 22 from 7am to 9pm and he also requested everyone to blow conch, ring bell or play sound with utensils at 5 pm for 5 minutes while standing at their gates or balcony for expressing gratitude towards those who are working hard to eradicate coronavirus completely.

The Janta Curfew was a huge success and it felt as if all the Indians came out to blow conch, ring bells, plates etc. for showing appreciation to the corona warriors.

Two IPL teams – Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and posted videos to thank the corona warriors.

In CSK’s video, skipper Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Murali Vijay and Kedar Jadhav were seen in celebration mode and the caption given by CSK read, “Let’s show our appreciation to all those toiling night and day to keep us all alive, literally. Come let’s #WhistlePoduAt5! #JantaCurfew 🦁💛

However, there was a twist in this video as it has no sound. When an online user asked about the sound, the official Twitter handle asked them to make noise outside their door or balcony by tweeting, “This video has no sound, make all the noise outside your door/balcony! #WhistlePoduAt5 #COVID2019”

On the other hand, in the video of Delhi Capitals, many cricketers including Ishant Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, etc. were seen clapping and praising the efforts of those who are working day and night to make this world a safe place.

DC shared the video with caption, “Let us all come together and give a round of applause to the heroes who are working in this pandemic in keeping the world safe! It’s time to let your cheers, echo out loud 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 @narendramodi”

Mitchell McClenaghan Has Epic Replies When Fans Ask One Word About Kohli & Few Words For Dhoni

The coronavirus outbreak has left everyone in a state of isolation as the disease is contagious in nature and remaining indoors is the best way to save yourself. The cricketers have also been forced to stay indoors as all the cricketing series and Indian Premier League 2020 have either been cancelled or postponed. Many cricketers have taken to social media networks in order to ask their fans not to panic and spread awareness about coronavirus while some are using this time in interacting with their fans and followers.

Mitchell McClenaghan, the New Zealand cricketer, took to Twitter and started #AskMitch session in which many cricket fans took the opportunity to ask questions from the cricketer. However in the beginning of the session, Mitchell made one thing clear that he is not in the mood to answer useless questions, such as who your favourite Indian cricketer is because it is Rohit Sharma.

His tweet read,

“Alright will give #askmitch a crack. No shit questions like who’s your favourite Indian player – you know it’s @ImRo45”

The New Zealand bowler is a member of the IPL team Mumbai Indians (MI) which is being led by Rohit Sharma. IPL 2020 was supposed to start from March 29 but it has been postponed till April 15; however, nothing can be said with surety as to whether IPL will take place this year or not.

A fan asked Mitchell a question regarding the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni who is touted as one of the best finishers of the game. MS Dhoni may have been out of the Indian squad for a long time now but his fans are hoping to see him in the ICC T20 World Cup 2020. The fan asked Mitchell to say few words about Dhoni.

The fan tweeted, “Few Words About Dhoni?? #AskMitch”

The answer given by Mitchell shows the stature of Indian wicketkeeper batsman as he replied that it’s better not to bowl him.

Mitchell tweeted, “Rather not bowl to him”.

Another fan asked a question regarding the Indian skipper Virat Kohli who is being touted as the greatest of all times (GOAT) by his fans but the right-handed batsman had a quite disappointing tour of New Zealand recently.

The online user asked Mitchell to describe Virat Kohli in one word and tweeted, “#askmitch one word about @imVkohli”.

The reply given by Mitchell was quite classy as the word that he wrote for Virat was “class”.

The replies by Mitchell McClenaghan were quite awesome and to the point ! What do you say?

From Zombied Thepla To Manmaani Maggi, Twitter Shares Their Funny Quarantine Nicknames

In the present scenario, working from home or staying at home is the best way to save ourselves from the coronavirus outbreak and the citizens of almost every country have put themselves in isolation. The situation is quite serious as more than 3 lakh people have been found infected with coronavirus and over 13,000 have lost their lives.

Representational Image

The disease is contagious in nature so the governments and the medical authorities have been urging people to remain indoors, travel only if it is a necessity and wash your hands regularly. While the situation in some countries is still under control, countries like Italy are going through a very tough phase. We have already seen many videos from the people of Italy, Spain etc. in which they are requesting people of other countries not to make the mistakes that they have made and urge everyone to remain indoors and practice social distancing.

While sitting in their homes, people are making the most of their time and also bringing out the creative person which got lost in the hustle-bustle of their hectic life. The author and TV producer Elan Gale started a new trend #QuarantineNickname on the micro-blogging site Twitter when he posted a tweet asking Twitterati about their quarantine nickname and the last thing that they ate out of the cupboard. Here is what he tweeted,

“Your quarantine nickname is how you feel right now + the last thing you ate out of the cupboard”

You can call me ‘angry chili mango’”

The same trend was started in India by Atul Kasbekar, the Indian movie producer, and this is what he tweeted,

“What’s your #QuarantineNickname

Your *quarantine nickname* is:

How you feel right now + The last thing you ate??

Do tell…

Sincerely,

Bored Khichdi”

Netizens loved this thread and enthusiastically responded with hilarious nicknames. From manmaani Maggi to exhausted idli, you will find it all in the thread. Here are some of the selected ones:

Sonam Kapoor Supports Coronavirus Positive Kanika Kapoor, Twitter Calls Her Brainless

The situation of coronavirus outbreak in the world is getting grim by every passing day as new cases of the disease are increasing. As per the latest update, the number of people infected with the disease has gone up by 3 lakh and more than 13,000 people have lost their lives due to this disease all over the world.

Representational Image

As of now, we can say that the condition is not out of control in India as 315 people have been found infected with coronavirus but unfortunately, 4 people have lost their lives to this disease. However, things may turn ugly if the Indian citizens don’t take the advice of the Indian government seriously. The best way to keep yourself safe is to remain at home, maintain social distancing, wash hands regularly, avoid crowded places, wear masks while going outside of the house and travel only if very necessary.

These measures can help to a great extent in combating COVID-19 as it is contagious in nature and by following these simple steps, we can help in stopping our country from entering the third stage of community transmission. Considering the fact that we have a huge population, the situation after entering the third stage will be no less than a nightmare and then we may even surpass Italy in terms of casualties.

While the government is requesting everyone to practice social distancing, there are some celebrities, politicians, bureaucrats and VVIPs who are enjoying parties, get-togethers, etc.

Kanika Kapoor, the Bollywood singer, has been tested positive for COVID-19. Recently, she returned from London and after that, she should have isolated herself for 14 days but the “Baby Doll” singer was busy partying and as per her father, she had attended 3 parties after returning. These parties were attended by a huge number of guests including the BJP leader and former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje and her son, Health Minister of Uttar Pradesh and many other politicians and VVIPs. It is also being said that Kanika not only hid her travel details from the airport authorities but she also dodged the screening process.

Kanika Kapoor is now undergoing treatment and the UP government has started a legal action against her for risking the lives of others. The Indian Twitterati was already aggravated with this pathetic behaviour of a Bollywood celeb and what angered them more was the tweet made by actress Sonam Kapoor in support of Kanika Kapoor.

Sonam tweeted, “Hey guys @TheKanikakapoor came back on the 9th. India was not self isolating but playing Holi.”

The Indian Twitterati trolled Sonam Kapoor left and right after this tweet and you just can’t miss how people reacted:

Irfan Pathan Reacts To Gujarat Govt’s Move Of Banning Spitting In Public Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

The whole world is in a state of shock and panic due to the coronavirus scare as it has already taken lives of more than 13K people and more than 3 lakh people have been found infected with it all over the world. The Indian government and the state governments have taken many steps to control to the coronavirus outbreak which has been declared as a pandemic. The number of cases in India has increased to 341 while 7 people have lost their lives till now due to this disease.

Recently, the Gujarat government has banned spitting in public places as it can also result in the spread of coronavirus. This is indeed a welcoming move and might help in the prevention of spreading of COVID-19 that is worsening with every passing day.

Representational Image

Many people applauded this step by the government including the former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan and he also expressed a wish, stating that this ban should be applicable forever as it will help in keeping the environment better and cleaner.

Irfan Pathan took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote,

“Welcome move by #GujaratGovernment to ban the spitting in public during #coronavirus time. It should be ban forever for better n cleaner environment…”

Check out his tweet:

Irfan Pathan is one of the best all-rounders who have played for India and the Gujarat cricketer was recently seen in the Road Safety World Series 2020 in which he played for India Legends. However, the Road Safety World Series 2020 was cancelled due to coronavirus outbreak while the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has been postponed till April 15.

Today (March 22), the whole India is observing Janta Curfew from morning 7 am till 9 pm. The government has asked the citizens to stay at home, travel only if very necessary and while travelling, they should wear masks, maintain personal hygiene and wash hands regularly in order to save themselves from coronavirus.

We also agree with Irfan Pathan that spitting in public places should be banned forever. What do you say?

Brad Hogg Answers Whether Sachin Tendulkar Would’ve Scored More Centuries If DRS Was There In 90s

Sachin Tendulkar is one of the most popular cricketers of the world and if we talk about India, a majority of the cricket lovers call him “God of Cricket”. Little Master has many records in his name including the maximum centuries in the International cricket. He has scored 100 centuries (51 in Test Matches & 49 in ODIs) in his long career of 24 years.

However, Sachin Tendulkar also holds the record of getting out in the 90s for record maximum 27 times (10 in Test Matches and 17 in ODIs). What can be more unfortunate for a batsman than getting out on 99 and in the year 2007, Sachin got out on 99 three times in the shorter format.

Umpires can also be held partially responsible for Sachin getting out in the 90s as few times he was wrongly given out by them. His fans are of the opinion that if Umpire Decision Review System (UDRS) had been in place at that time, Sachin might have scored more centuries. Sachin Tendulkar made his debut in 1989 while DRS came in the later part of his career and once in the semi-final of 2011 ICC World Cup, his wicket got saved due to DRS against Pakistan.

A cricket fan asked the former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg whether the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar would have scored 10-15 more centuries if the DRS had been available in the 90s.

His tweet read, “@Brad_Hogg Do you think that if DRS was available during the 90s then Sachin Tendulkar would have had 10-15 more international 100s in his name?? #HoggyTime”

However, Brad Hogg feels that the availability of DRS in the 90s would not have made any difference as DRS goes both ways and Sachin might have won some but then he would have lost few as well.

Brad Hogg replied, “I reckon it would of been the same. DRS goes both ways, he would of won some and lost some with reviews.”

It seems highly difficult for any batsman to break the records of Sachin Tendulkar and in the present scenario, if there is anyone who can break the records of Little Master, it is none other than the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

What is your take on Brad Hogg’s opinion? Do you agree with him?
