Akshay Kumar Speaks On Canadian Citizenship, Says He Gets Hurt When People Question His Patriotism

Akshay Kumar is undoubtedly one of the biggest superstars of Bollywood and it won’t be wrong to say that over the years, he has become the success mantra for any producer or director as his flicks perform superbly at the box-office.

Apart from being an excellent actor who has given flawless performance in many superhit movies, he is also indulged in charity works and does a lot for the country.

Akshay has a huge fan following and is very much praised on social media for his good work; nevertheless, his patriotism is always questioned and the reason is his Canadian citizenship. Yes, the “Gold” star is always targeted for the same on social media but he chose to remain silent on the matter so far.

However recently when he was questioned about it at an event, he finally spoke up and narrated the story behind his citizenship of Canada.

As per Khiladi Kumar, he gave 14 flops back to back at one point of time and thought that it was the end of his Bollywood career and that he would not be given work in India subsequent to such a bad record.

Even his friend asked him to make way to Canada for working with him and it was then that he applied for the citizenship. But luck worked in his favour and his 15th movie was hit and the actor didn’t think of changing his passport.

Akshay Kumar says that he has now applied for the Indian passport as he is not willing to give people an opportunity of questioning his patriotism. According to the “Rustom” actor, he is an Indian and gets hurt when he is asked to prove his love for India all the time. His wife and kids are Indians, he pays taxes in India and lives his life in this country.

Akshay is currently busy in the promotional activities of his next flick “Good Newwz” in which he will share the screen with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh. The trailer of the flick received good response from audiences and the movie will hit the theatres on 27th December this year.

Panipat & Pati Patni Aur Woh Day 1 Collections Out. Kartik Aaryan Starrer Rocked The Box-Office

This Friday was exciting for movie buffs as two much awaited movies hit the theatres and it must have been a tough choice for viewers to select which one they should watch first. We are talking about “Panipat” which starred Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Sanjay Dutt and “Pati, Patni Aur Woh” featuring Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday, Bhumi Pednekar and Aparshakti Khurana in important roles.

Viewers had great expectations from “Panipat” but unfortunately, it could not earn a good amount and minted only Rs 4.12 crore on its opening day.

Here’s what trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted:

Talking about the first day collections of “Pati, Patni Aur Woh”, the flick collected Rs 9.10 crore and became the highest opener of Kartik Aaryan.

Taran Adarsh wrote:

Ashutosh Gowarikar’s “Panipat” is based on the third battle of Panipat fought on 14th January, 1761, between fierce Afghani invaders led by Ahmad Shah Abdali and the fearless Marathas under the leadership of Sadashiv Rao Bhau. Arjun Kapoor’s portrayal of Sadashiv Rao Bhau didn’t impress people and this became a major reason why the film failed to live up to the anticipations of audiences and critics alike. Nevertheless, people have praised Sanjay Dutt as ferocious Ahmad Shah Abdali who did full justice to his character with his flawless dialogue delivery.

Mudassar Aziz’s “Pati, Patni Aur Woh” is a remake of 1978 release of the same name in which Sanjeev Kumar, Ranjeeta Kaur and Vidya Sinha played lead roles. It is the story of a married couple (Kartik and Bhumi) whose lives change completely with the entry of a young girl (Ananya) as the husband makes attempts to impress her. Although the story was known to all, the flick garnered attention and interest due to its music and the performances of actors have also been praised by viewers.

“Pati, Patni Aur Woh” is expected to grow bigger in the days to come while it will be interesting to see how “Panipat” will perform on the box-office in its first weekend.

Which of these movies have you watched or are planning to watch?

Yuzvendra Chahal Got Trolled By Danielle Wyatt For Posting A Pic Of Himself Batting In The Nets

The Indian cricket team will be playing a three T20 match series against West Indies starting December 6 and fans are quite sure that Indian leg break bowler Yuzvendra Chahal will play an important role in the series.

Chahal may be one of the best spinners in the cricketing world at this moment but he certainly needs to improve his performance with the bat. It becomes more important for a bowler to learn some batting skills as nowadays the game has become so tough that all-rounders are preferred in the shortest format of the game.

Recently, Chahal posted a photo of himself on his Instagram account on which he is quite active. In this pic, he was seen batting in the nets and this gave a chance to many people from cricket fraternity to troll him including the England Woman cricketer Danielle Wyatt.

The caption that was written by Chahal read, “Enjoying my day out in the nets 😎.

Danielle Wyatt couldn’t stop herself from commenting after seeing Chahal’s pic and she wrote “Bowled” with a grinning emoji.

Along with Danielle Wyatt, the fielding coach of the Indian team, R Sridhar also didn’t miss the chance to have some fun on Chahal’s expense. He posted, “What a worried look” with a wink eye emoji.

What do you have to say about Chahal’s photo?

Irfan Pathan Trolls Abdul Razzaq For His Remarks About Bumrah & Kohli In A Perfect Way

A Pakistani former player Abdul Razzaq has invited the wrath of Indian cricket fans by making weird and derogatory statements against two Indian cricketers of the present generation – Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.

Talking about Virat, Abdul Razzaq says that he is scoring well and has been a consistent player for India but he can’t place him with Sachin Tendulkar as he was of completely different class. While speaking about Bumrah, Razzaq says that he has faced bowling greats such as Glenn McGrath and Wasim Akran so he would have easily played Jasprit Bumrah. This was not all as he went on to call Bumrah a baby bowler, adding that he would have dominated the Indian player.

This didn’t go well with the Indian cricket fans and they started trolling Abdul Razzaq; however, the best reply was given by Irfan Pathan who has requested the fans not to give much attention to such statements, just read them and laugh.

Irfan Pathan took to Twitter and wrote, “‘Irfan jese bowlers hamari gali gali mein paae jate hay’ par jab jab ye galli bowler inke samne khela har baar inki gilliyan nikal ke rakh di. Request to all fans not to pay any heat to those unnecessary over the top statements. Just read and 😃…. #bumrah #ViratKohli”

Irfan made this tweet with reference to his tour to Pakistan. Needless to say, he is one of the most popular cricketers of India and he has time and again proved his worth whenever he got the chance. There was a time when he was India’s main weapons for sending the opposition batsmen to pavilion.

In 2006 when India visited Pakistan, Irfan was just 22 years old but expectations were quite high from him as he performed in an exemplary manner in Zimbabwe just before the tour to Pakistan. In Zimbabwe, Irfan picked 21 wickets in two test matches that he played and this made him a bowler to look forward to on the Pakistani tour.

However, just before the start of the series, Pakistani former captain Javed Miandad made fun of Irfan by saying that such players can be found in the streets of Pakistan and they don’t even take the trouble of looking at them.

Such statement from senior players didn’t sound good to any youngster but Irfan gave a wonderful reply with his bowling as he not only created problems for Pak batsmen but also took wickets. However, the best moment of the series for India and Irfan came in the third and final test match in which Irfan took hat-trick by getting Salman Butt, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf out of three consecutive deliveries and that too, in the very first over of the match.

We must say that Irfan Pathan knows how to give it back to haters in a perfect way. Agree?

Ananya Panday Opens Up On Being Compared With Janhvi Kapoor & Sara Ali Khan

Ananya Panday is on cloud nine as her second flick “Pati, Patni Aur Woh” has hit the theatres today and has received good reviews from audiences and critics alike. She stepped in the Hindi film industry with “Student Of The Year 2” in which she shared the screen with Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria. People liked her work in the flick and after her debut movie itself, she got a huge fan following on social media.

Comparison is quite normal in the industry and every newcomer making debut in the showbiz should be ready for such queries. Recently during an interview with a leading daily, Ananya Panday also opened up on her comparison with Sara Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.

Talking about the same, Ananya says that she is really inspired by the excellent and amazing work done by Janhvi, Tara and Sara. Healthy competition is what she believes in and loves to indulge in because it motivates her to work harder.

She also adds that all of them have their own journey, each one is working hard and performing well in their ventures. Just to inform, Janhvi and Sara both stepped in Bollywood in 2018 while Ananya came in 2019. All the actresses were praised not just for their beauty but also work and in such cases, comparisons are not surprising at all.

On the question of relationships, Ananya tells a publication house that she is romantic and believes in the ideology of love. However, she will never wish to have a partner like Chintu Tyagi (name of Kartik Aaryan in “Pati, Patni Aur Woh”) as she is loyal and wants the same from her boyfriend or husband.

Have you watched “Pati, Patni Aur Woh”? What do you have to say about Ananya’s views? Share with us.

Panipat & Pati, Patni Aur Woh Honest Review. Which Movie Should You Watch First?

The Indian movie lovers have two movies to watch and get entertained this weekend – “Panipat” and “Pati, Patni Aur Woh”. The star cast of “Panipat” includes Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Sanjay Dutt, Mohnish Bahl, Zeenat Aman, Padmini Kolhapure, etc. while “Pati, Patni Aur Woh” features Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, Ananya Panday and Aparshakti Khurana in lead roles.

Here is an honest review of both the movies:

Panipat

Plot:

Directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, the movie is about the third battle of Panipat which was fought on 14th January, 1761, between the brave and courageous Marathas led by Sadashiv Rao Bhau and ferocious Afghani invaders under the leadership of Ahmad Shah Abdali.

Performances:

Since the launch of the trailer, the comparisons were drawn among “Panipat”, “Bajirao Mastani” and “Padmavat”. Obviously, the actors were also getting compared and sadly for “Panipat”, Arjun Kapoor lacked the skills and intensity to portray the character of Sadashiv Rao Bhau in an impeccable manner. Arjun Kapoor has failed to create an emotional connect despite the fact that he tried a lot to fit into the character but his preparation was still not up to the mark.

On the other hand, Kriti Sanon was just fine in the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau’s wife Parvati Bai but the show has been stolen by Sanjay Dutt. He did full justice to his character and not just by the dialogues, he also did a lot of talking with his fierce eyes.

The supporting cast of “Panipat” performed well but the movie did not fulfill the expectations as the makers failed to create a larger than life picture. Talking about music, music directors Ajay-Atul have not been able to attract the audiences with their compositions.

Verdict:

“Panipat” is certainly one-time watch but don’t expect the flick to have the same effect as “Bajirao Mastani” or “Padmavat”. We give a rating of 2.5 out of 5 to the movie.

Pati, Patni Aur Woh

Plot

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, “Pati, Patni Aur Woh” is a remake of 1978 release of the same name which starred legendary actor Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur. The story is about a couple who is enjoying their married life but things change completely when a young girl comes in the life of the husband and he starts spinning a web to impress the girl.

While Kartik Aaryan plays the two characters of husband and lover in a good manner, Bhumi also impresses in the role of a strong woman and wife who has no problem in speaking about s@x. Ananya is just one movie old but there is an improvement in her acting; however, a lot still needs to be learnt as of now.

There is no doubt that Ananya’s glamour adds flavour to the film but Aparshakti Khurana is the one who brings a smile on the faces of audiences whenever he comes on the screen. The “Stree” actor plays the character of Kartik’s friend who not only helps Kartik but also warns him of the consequences. What’s more, his dialogue delivery is certainly awesome. The music of the movie is mostly about the remixes and has been liked by viewers.

Verdict:

There is nothing new as far as the story is concerned but “Pati, Patni Aur Woh” should be watched for the performances of the actors. We give 3 out of 5 to the movie.

So which movie are you going to watch first?

5 Instances Of Selflessness In Cricket

Cricket is a team sport, a gentleman’s game in which 11 players take the field and do their best to win a match.

In our game, it does not matter whether your team boasts of the best batsman or the best bowler, only if it boasts of the best 11 players, playing collectively.

Being a formidable team requires sacrifices and commitment. It tests your ability to put your team above yourself in any condition. Here let us have a look at some of the players who did exactly that:

1) Robin Uthappa’s role in Rohit’s 264.

We all remember that iconic innings of Rohit Sharma against Sri Lanka in which he broke so many world records and scored 264, the highest score in ODI history.

Well, this score could not have been possible if Robin Uthappa was not batting at the other end. Each time he got the strike he turned it back to Rohit Sharma who was in supreme hitting form.

Uthappa’s inning made sure that team India maximized their score to full potential.

2) MS Dhoni pushing himself down the order throughout his career.

MS Dhoni, the explosive batsmen who announced himself in world cricket by playing a thunderous knock of 183 runs against Pakistan.

At the point of MS Dhoni’s arrival in the team, India lacked a match finisher. Owing to his pressure taking abilities and hard hitting capabilities Dhoni decided to bat down the order.

Batting at no.6 and 7, he has accumulated 10,000 runs in ODI internationals, imagine what he could have achieved had he batted at no.3.

But he played for the greater good and helped India win many matches.

3) Gautam Gambhir giving away his man of the match award.

It was a chase against Sri Lanka, in which both Virat and Gambhir scored a century. Owing to better strike rate, Gambhir received the man of the match award.

But what Gambhir did after that was inspiring, he gave away his award to Kohli, who was in his early days and it was the youngster’s first century.

This must have definitely motivated Virat and gave him huge confidence about his batting abilities.

4) Mark Taylor declaring on 334*.

This has to be one of the most beautiful incidents of our game. Mark Taylor, the Australian batsman was batting on 334* and was set to score more but to everyone’s surprise he declared the innings.

The reason? He said he can’t go past Sir Bradman’s score of 334, he wants to be placed across him, not above him.
Team sport at its best.

5) Suresh Raina celebrating Virat’s century before him.

There are not many players who are better team players than Suresh Raina. He would be the first one to congratulate or motivate a bowler.

In 2015 world cup, when Virat completed his century, Raina who was batting at the other end started celebrating even before Kohli.

This shows how happy he really feels in his team mate’s success. Raina is a player with whom everyone would like to share a dressing room.
