Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer “Kabir Singh” has become the biggest blockbuster of the year 2019 and even after one month of its release, it is creating storm at the box-office.
The audiences have loved the movie and they are showering praises on the actors for their superb performances. “Kabir Singh” is a remake of Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini starrer Telugu movie “Arjun Reddy” and both versions have been directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy.
There were reports that after the huge success of “Kabir Singh”, Shahid Kapoor has increased his fees to whopping Rs 40 crore for signing a movie. As per the reports, Shahid has been offered the remake of Nani and Shraddha Srinath starrer Telugu movie “Jersey” and he has quoted his fees as Rs 40 crore.
When Shahid was asked about hike in fees, he said that he has to sign a movie to get paid and his bank balance is still the same as it was before “Kabir Singh”. He added that only Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani are making money while he needs to sign a project before getting any money.
While the majority has liked the flawed character of Kabir Singh, there are some who are slamming the makers for portraying such a character and accusing them of promoting toxic masculinity.

Yograj has been blaming Dhoni for destroying his son’s career for a long time and recently, he accused Dhoni of being responsible for India’s defeat against New Zealand in the semi-final of World Cup 2019. During the tournament, he claimed that he would expose someone and since then, he was constantly targeting Dhoni.
As per Yograj, it was Dhoni who brought team India under pressure in the semi-final. Not just this, he added that Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadega lost their wickets because of Dhoni as he was not ready to play big strokes. Yograj also talked about the India vs England match and said that Dhoni lacked the intent to chase the target.
However, during a showpiece event in England and Wales, Yograj completely changed his stance. In fact, you will be shocked to know that he praised Dhoni and called him a legendary player.
Yograj called himself a fan of Dhoni and appreciated his leadership skills as well as decision making capability, especially in the critical situations. He completely denied blaming Dhoni for the defeat in the World Cup and added that he has served the nation for a long time.
Recently, Dhoni made himself unavailable for the West Indian tour as he wanted to serve the Indian Army as he is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment.

Shahid Kapoor is a happy man nowadays as his movie “Kabir Singh” has become the biggest blockbuster of the year 2019 and his acting in the flick has been praised a lot by the audiences. The film was released a month ago and it is still going strong on the box-office. The movie which is directed by Sandeep Vanga also stars Kiara Advani in the female lead. “Kabir Singh” is a remake of Telugu film “Arjun Reddy” which was also directed by Sandeep Vanga.
While the viewers have showered their love on “Kabir Singh”, some critics have slammed the movie for showcasing and promoting toxic masculinity.
During an interview with a news daily, Shahid talked about the success of the flick and also about the criticism which he and the makers are facing since the release of “Kabir Singh”. Shahid stated that he is never afraid of playing troubled characters like Tommy or Kabir Singh because he is sure of that he can’t be like them. Shahid said that viewers watch movie for what they are and this is the reason they have liked “Kabir Singh”.
Shahid also talked about the film “Sanju” and said that it is not the first time that a flawed character has been portrayed in Bollywood.
As per him, nobody criticised “Sanju” despite the fact that the lead character talked about sleeping with around 300 women and he said this in front of his wife.
Shahid added that he enjoyed “Sanju” because he wanted to know about the life of the character and the same is the case with Kabir Singh as people loved him for what he is.

Cricket is one of the most popular games in the world and just recently, England became the world champion by winning the men’s World Cup 2019.
With the increasing involvement of technology in the game, it is being expected that there will be less mistakes in taking decisions by the umpires but still there are instances when umpires get slammed for their decisions.
Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary former Indian cricketer, shared a video clip of a cricket match which has started a discussion on the micro-blogging site Twitter. This video is of a second division cricket match which was played in England. It shows that the ball hit the stumps but bails didn’t fall on the ground and the batsman was adjudged not out by the umpires.
Sachin has asked his followers to imagine that they are the umpire and then tell what decision they would have given.

The government of India has decided to make some changes in the existing RTI Act which was introduced by the UPA government. The Right To Information Act was brought to increase the transparency between the people and the government.
After the RTI law came into being in 2005 anyone was able to file an RTI and ask questions from any government office, from the Prime Minister office to the smallest office in a city. And if the office denied giving out information regarding a query the complainant can go to Chief Information Commissioner who is only one in the country or Information Commissioner, who is one in every state.
Chief Information Commissioner and Information Commissioner have the right to force any office to release information. CIC and IC are equivalent to Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioner respectively and they don’t get government salary. They get paid equal to the Supreme court judges.
But after the amendment in the act, a lot of things will change including the salary of CIO and IO. Government is planning to get CIC and IC under it. If the bill becomes a law, the officers will get a salary from the government and the government is also trying to change their status. However, it is still not revealed what status they will be put to.
One more thing which will be changed after the regulation of the new law is the term of ICs. Till now they had a working term of 5 years and before that, no one had the right to remove them or fire them. Now they can be removed before their term.
All the changes will only weaken IC’s power and that’s when democracy will be in danger. There will be no or minimum transparency left between the people and the government.

One of the biggest sources of income for the cricket boards are the sponsors whose logos get feature on the jerseys of the cricketers which they wear during the matches. India is a cricket crazy nation so it is pretty much obvious that the brands have to pay quite a hefty amount to get a space on the dresses of the Indian cricket team players.
Oppo, the Chinese mobile manufacturer, was supposed to get featured on the Indian jerseys till 2022 but as per the reports, it has decided to quit and from September onwards, Byju’s will replace Oppo.
Based in Bengaluru, Byju’s is an Indian firm which deals in education technology and online tutorials.
In March 2017, Oppo won the sponsorship rights for five years (till March 2022) for a huge amount of Rs 1,079 crore as it easily surpassed the bidding amount of Vivo which was Rs 768 crore. But now Oppo has decided to leave the space as the management feels that value at which they have acquired the rights is very high and difficult to sustain.
We will be seeing Oppo on Indian jerseys in the West Indian tour only and from the South African tour, Byju’s will replace it.
Oppo’s exit will not be having any effect on the BCCI’s earnings as Byju’s will be paying the same amount till March 2022. Just to inform, Oppo paid Rs 4.61crore for every bilateral match and Rs 1.56 crore for every ICC event match.
Well considering this whopping amount, there is no doubt that BCCI is the richest cricket board of the world. What’s more, it will be great to see an Indian brand’s logo on the jersey of Indian cricketers. Agree?
