Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer “Kabir Singh” has become the biggest blockbuster of the year 2019 and even after one month of its release, it is creating storm at the box-office.
The audiences have loved the movie and they are showering praises on the actors for their superb performances. “Kabir Singh” is a remake of Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini starrer Telugu movie “Arjun Reddy” and both versions have been directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy.
There were reports that after the huge success of “Kabir Singh”, Shahid Kapoor has increased his fees to whopping Rs 40 crore for signing a movie. As per the reports, Shahid has been offered the remake of Nani and Shraddha Srinath starrer Telugu movie “Jersey” and he has quoted his fees as Rs 40 crore.
When Shahid was asked about hike in fees, he said that he has to sign a movie to get paid and his bank balance is still the same as it was before “Kabir Singh”. He added that only Bhushan Kumar and Murad Khetani are making money while he needs to sign a project before getting any money.
While the majority has liked the flawed character of Kabir Singh, there are some who are slamming the makers for portraying such a character and accusing them of promoting toxic masculinity.
