Zimbabwe’s Cricketer Posted Heartbreaking Tweet After ICC’s Decision

International Cricket Council (ICC) the global governing body of cricket on Thursday during the annual conference of ICC in London took the decision to suspend the entire cricket team of Zimbabwe with immediate effects. The decision was taken.

The apex cricketing body released a statement stating that every member has failed to prevent government intervention in the administration of sport in the country.

ICC Board unanimously decided that the Full Member had failed to fulfil their obligation to provide a process for free and democratic elections and to ensure that there is no government interference in its administration for cricket.

Zimbabwe cricket team will no longer receive the funding from ICC and they won’t be even allowed to participate in the events hosted by ICC. Following the suspension of the cricket board participation of Zimbabwe in the T20 Men’s World Cup starting from October 2019 is in doubt.

The former captain of Zimbabwe Brendan Taylor and player Sikandar Raza took to their twitter handle to point out ICC’s ‘one decision’ which destroyed so many lives.

Dejected Sikandar Raza wrote, How one decision has made a team, strangers. How one decision has made so many people unemployed. How one decision affects so many families. How one decision has ended so many careers. Certainly not how I wanted to say goodbye to international cricket.

Former Skipper of Zimbabwe Brendan Taylor also retweeted Raza’s post and made a separate post stating ICC it’s heartbreaking to hear your verdict and suspend cricket in Zimbabwe. The ZimbabweSrc has no government back round yet our Chairman is an MP? Hundreds of honest people, players, support staff, ground staff totally devoted to ZC out of a job, just like that.

Solomon Mire announced his retirement from international cricket but the cricketer is extremely disheartened to announce his retirement at this troublesome period of Zimbabwe cricket.

The ban can be uplifted by ICC only after October when the apex board will meet again to reconsider Zimbabwe’s status.

Here’s Why Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid Made It To ICC Hall Of Fame Before Master Blaster

The God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar retired from the International cricket 5 years ago. The Indian legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been inducted into International Cricket Council’s (ICC) hall of fame alongside South African pace legend Allan Donald and two-time World Cup-winning Australian woman cricketer Cathryn Fitzpatrick on Thursday in London.

Sachin Tendulkar became the 6th Indian cricketer to be inducted in the ICC Hall of Fame. The Indian batting icon joined the likes of Bishen Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev on the Hall of Fame.

Sachin was honoured by the apex body for his exceptional service to the game. He is the highest run-scorer in the history of Test cricket and the highest run-scorer in the history of ODI cricket also scored 100 international centuries throughout his career. Legend for a reason!

However, many people are questioning ICC why it took them so long to induct him in the ICC Hall of Fame. As he is one of the best cricketers to have ever donned the Indian jersey.

Whereas Anil Kumble and Rahul Dravid who played in the same era as Sachin they were honoured by the ICC Hall of Fame for their services before the god of cricket.

The Rule of ICC for the Hall of Fame Inductees:

The soulful reason WHY Sachin is honoured by ICC Hall of Fame this late. As per the rules of the ICC, it states that a player can only be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame after he/she has completed 5 years in retirement.

Anil Kumble retired from International cricket on 29 October 2008 and Rahul Dravid last donned the Indian team Jersey on 24th January 2012 against Australia. Whereas our master blaster played his last International game against West Indies on 14 November 2013.
