On 14th February, Indians encountered their worst nightmare when the militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed rammed a car full of explosives into a convoy carrying CRPF jawans in the Pulwama district of Pakistan.

Over 40 soldiers were martyred in the act. They left behind a gaping wound, and India vowed to avenge the incident.

In the early hours of Monday, the Indian Armed Forces retaliated by ambushing the Jaish-e-Mohammed, and it is believed that at least 2 members of the group were taken down in the encounter.

It is also being reported that Ghazi Abdul Rasheed, the man suspected to be the mastermind behind the Pulwama incident, was one of them.

The area of the encounter, near Pulwama, has been cordoned off, while the scuffle continues. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 55 Rashtriya Rifles and local police are part of the joint operation.

This is the first major breakthrough after the Pulwama incident, and the encounter lasted for over 12 hours. However, the mission was successful.

It had earlier been reported that Ghazi was still in the Valley, although he was absconding. He is an IED specialist and an Afghan war veteran and it is believed that he conceived the strategic hit on the CRPF jawans.

It is also believed that he trained Adil Amhad Dar, the man who was driving the vehicle full of explosives that rammed into the convoy. Adil was a newbie militant and had joined the group only a year back.

We salute the Indian Armed Forces. This is, without a doubt, another feather in their hat. Four of our own men were martyred in the encounter; while this in no way compensates for the tremendous loss, it certainly proves that the Indian army will not take it lying down.

Zoya Akhtar’s latest directorial “Gully Boy” is enjoying a great run on the box-office and it has a good chance of crossing Rs. 200 crore mark in the second week. The movie stars Ranveer Singh as a rapper from Dharavi, a slum in Mumbai, while Alia Bhatt plays the character of a medical student who is also Ranveer’s girlfriend in the movie.

The movie was released on the Valentine’s Day and had a great opening with whopping Rs 19.40 crore; however, the collections dipped on Friday after the unfortunate Pulwama incident in which more than 40 CRPF soldiers lost their lives. While the movie earned Rs 13.10 crore on its second day, the figures went up again on Saturday and Ranveer-Alia starrer minted Rs 18.65 crore on the third day.

A massive growth was seen on the fourth day as “Gully Boy” earned Rs 21.30 crore on Sunday, making its first extended weekend collections Rs. 72.45 crore.

Day 3 – Rs 18.65 crore

This movie is going to be the best movie of Zoya Akhtar as far as the box-office earnings are concerned in view of the fact that it will cross the lifetime collections of her movie “Dil Dhadakne Do” (Rs 76.88 crore) on Day 5 and lifetime earnings of “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” (Rs 90.27 crore) in the first week itself.

Bollywood celebs too expressed their agony and pain over this incident and while everyone was demanding a strict action against Pakistan, there was one person who was still supporting talks with Pak.

Yes, we are talking about cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu who was also a part of the popular comedy show The Kapil Sharma Show. Sidhu condemned the act of cruelty but at one fell swoop, he also protected Pakistan by saying that neither the entire nation nor an individual can be blamed for the act of few individuals, adding that a solution can be found by only talks.

It didn’t take much time for people to understand what Sidhu wanted to convey as the Congress politician was already under the radar of many for attending the swearing-in ceremony of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Indian public got so angry with Sidhu that they started demanding his ouster from the comedy show and also said that they would boycott the show and even unsubscribe Sony channel if Sidhu is not shown the exit door. The huge protest resulted in sacking of Sidhu from The Kapil Sharma Show as the channel did not want to get involved in any controversy, especially when the matter is so sensitive.
