Gully Boy First Weekend Collections Out. Figures Are Awesome & The Movie Is Close To 100 Crore
Zoya Akhtar’s latest directorial “Gully Boy” is enjoying a great run on the box-office and it has a good chance of crossing Rs. 200 crore mark in the second week. The movie stars Ranveer Singh as a rapper from Dharavi, a slum in Mumbai, while Alia Bhatt plays the character of a medical student who is also Ranveer’s girlfriend in the movie.
The movie was released on the Valentine’s Day and had a great opening with whopping Rs 19.40 crore; however, the collections dipped on Friday after the unfortunate Pulwama incident in which more than 40 CRPF soldiers lost their lives. While the movie earned Rs 13.10 crore on its second day, the figures went up again on Saturday and Ranveer-Alia starrer minted Rs 18.65 crore on the third day.
A massive growth was seen on the fourth day as “Gully Boy” earned Rs 21.30 crore on Sunday, making its first extended weekend collections Rs. 72.45 crore.
Day 1 – Rs 19.40 crore
Day 2 – Rs 13.10 crore
Day 3 – Rs 18.65 crore
Day 4 – Rs 21.30 crore
Total – Rs 72.45 crore

This movie is going to be the best movie of Zoya Akhtar as far as the box-office earnings are concerned in view of the fact that it will cross the lifetime collections of her movie “Dil Dhadakne Do” (Rs 76.88 crore) on Day 5 and lifetime earnings of “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” (Rs 90.27 crore) in the first week itself.

“Gully Boy” is based loosely on the life story of Mumbai rappers Divine and Naezy and Ranveer’s character Murad also faces a lot of problems before he gets the chance to fulfill his dreams.
Ranveer is getting praised for his acting performance in the flick and recently, Hollywood actor Will Smith also took to Instagram to appreciate Ranveer for his work.
