Do You Know Zee TV Rejected Sanjeev Kapoor To Host Khana Khazana? Here’s Why

Hansal Mehta, the producer-director-writer is quite a famous name among movie buffs because he has come up with some really good flicks such as “CityLights”, “Shahid”, “Aligarh”, etc. and has entertained us a lot but do you know he started his career on television?

Recently during an interview, Hansal Mehta revisited his past as he talked about his first job on Zee television. He stated that Zee TV just started at that time, he went to meet there and submitted a proposal which was more like a flowchart as to how the cooking show would be like. He further said that the start was phenomenal as he was given the cheque within three weeks with the nod to start the show.

Hansal added that he used to visit hotels to find chefs who are presentable; he visited Centaur which is now Tulip Star Banquet Hall where the FnB manager called 4 chefs and told Hansal Mehta to choose any one of them. However while they were having coffee, one chef who wasn’t invited by the FnB manager came to Hansal and told him that if he needed anything, he could tell him, the chef also told his name as Sanjeev Kapoor.

After returning to his home that evening, Hansal Mehta called Sanjeev Kapoor and asked him to meet. The shooting started but Zee TV rejected Sanjeev Kapoor as they wanted a woman chef because women audiences may feel more relatable and connected with a woman chef.

However, the show with a woman chef didn’t work and after 12 weeks, the channel told Hansal Mehta that they were closing the show. For the few remaining weeks, Hansal Mehta was allowed to do experiments if he wished to and when the chef who was invited refused to come, Hansal once again gave a call to Sanjeev and asked him to come.

Hansal further said that when Sanjeev came, he asked what he should cook and Hansal showed him spinach, paneer, chicken, tomatoes, onions and some other items. After seeing all the things, Sanjeev said that he would think about something and he came up with a dish called Shaam Savera. If we talk about the dish in the words of Hansal Mehta, it was spinach and paneer dumpling in butter gravy.

Hansal said that one dish changed his as well as Sanjeev’s life as it was loved by audiences and they received nearly 1 lakh letters in which people praised the dish and Sanjeev bhaiya too. The show went on for 22 years with Sanjeev Kapoor as the chef and after that Hansal made movies and web series while Sanjeev set up his chain of restaurants.

Were you also a fan of Khana Khazana and Sanjeev Kapoor?

Recently in an interview with a movie portal, Kajol talks about the stardom and how it is getting diluted in present times. According to her, earlier only those people were famous who used to work on big screen but now people can get famous for n number of reasons thanks to social media, for instance, because of their style of combing hair, nails, etc. and many other ways.

She takes a subtle dig at those who are very active on social media by saying that most people have put their complete lives on social media platforms and are doing only one thing in 24 hours. She further says that while such people spend half of their time on the screen, the other half is spent on social media. “Dada Took His Shirt Off But There’s Another Story No One Knows,” Sachin On 2002 Natwest Final

The Indian cricket has given us many memorable moments including the World Cup wins of 1983, 2007, 2011, etc. but one victory stands apart from other victories and that is of Natwest Trophy 2002. What makes this win more important is the fact that it showcased fighting spirit of the Indian cricketers who didn’t lose hope even in the most critical times.

We all remember that after winning the final of Natwest Trophy 2002 against England which was played at Lord’s, the then skipper Sourav Ganguly took off his shirt and waved it but recently the former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar revealed an interesting story which nobody knows about.

Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of that Natwest Trophy 2002 final in which India defeated England in a nail-biting match by 2 wickets. The toss was won by the hosts and they decided to bat first, the decision was proved correct as England posted a huge total of 325/5 on the score board with the help of centuries by Marcus Trescothick (109) and skipper Nasser Hussain (115).

The Indian innings started pretty well as the openers Virender Sehwag (45) and Sourav Ganguly (60) produced a partnership of 106 runs for the first wicket but then three batters (Dinesh Mongia, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid) got out quickly and India was reeling at 146/5 in 24 overs. When everybody thought that India had no chance of winning the match, two youngsters Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif were quite determined to give the English team a tough fight.

They both played superbly and without giving a chance to the English bowlers, they kept on scoring runs at a brisk pace. When Yuvi got out at the personal score of 69 runs, India was 267/6. Mohammad Kaif kept on playing brilliantly and stayed till the end, ensuring victory of the Indian team as India successfully achieved the target with 3 balls remaining in its innings. Mohammad Kaif who scored 87* runs was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his great performance.

The final was played on 13th July 2002 and on its 20th anniversary, Sachin Tendulkar posted a video on his YouTube channel. He talked about the match, the environment of the dressing room during the chase and also told a story which is not known to many.

Sachin Tendulkar stated that by the end of 25 overs, it had lost its 5 top order batsmen and the batters on the crease were youngsters as Yuvi was merely 2-2.5 yrs old in the team while Kaif had just joined the team. He added that energy of both the youngsters was great, they were not only smashing boundaries but were converting ones into twos. Sachin Tendulkar said that they were communicating with both the batters regularly using sign language, when Yuvi was playing attacking game, Kaif supported him well but when Yuvi got out, Kaif took the complete charge and ensured that he stayed till the end.

Sachin Tendulkar who scored 14 runs in the match also said that it was decided no one would change their place in the dressing room and he was instrumental in reminding this to everyone.

The legendary cricketer also reveals that after the match, both Yuvraj and Kaif came to him and asked that though their performance was good, what else they should do if they have to do something better. Sachin responds by telling that they have already won a tournament, what more they want to do, just keep on playing like this and everything will be fine for the Indian cricket.

Well, that was certainly a great match!

“Virat Can Single-Handedly Win World Cups,” Ex India Selector On Kapil Dev’s ‘Drop Kohli’ Remark

The former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev created a storm when he said that Virat Kohli should be dropped from the team as there are many young in-form cricketers who are performing well. Though there were many who were demanding Kohli’s ouster earlier as well yet these voices got strengthened after Kapil Dev’s comments.

The former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is going through very tough times as far as his career is concerned since he hasn’t scored a century in the last 3 years across any format plus he has disappointed in the fifth rescheduled test match along with T20I series against England too. On the other hand, the young Indian cricketer Deepak Hooda is in a great form; he not only scored a century against Ireland but also played good cricket in the first T20I against England but he was dropped from the playing XI for making place for Virat Kohli.

Kapil Dev is of the opinion that if Ravichandran Ashwin who is world number 2 test bowler can be benched then why a batsman who used to be number one can’t be made to sit outside if he is not performing well for a long time. The legendary Indian cricketer under whose leadership India has won its first World Cup states that those players should be played who are in good form and a player just can’t play because of his reputation.

Former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Venkatesh Prasad also tweeted on the same lines and the latter was of the opinion that an out-of-form player should go back to the domestic level as it used to happen in the older times.

There are many people from the Indian cricket fraternity who are standing in support of Virat Kohli and recently the former Indian cricketer and selector Sarandeep Singh extended his support to the former RCB skipper.

While giving an interview, Sarandeep Singh says that Virat Kohli shouldn’t be dropped from the team because his potential is not hidden from anyone and he has the capability to win the World Cups single-handedly for his team. Sarandeep questions as to what efforts are being made by the selectors in order to find the problems faced by Kohli in batting and why he is given so much of rest.

Sarandeep Singh further expresses his unhappiness over the selection method as he feels it is illogical. He adds that Virat Kohli plays one series and then he is sent for rest and then he plays another series. In his opinion, Virat Kohli should play all the matches because that is the way to get his form back.

Whom do you support, Kapil Dev or Sarandeep Singh? Let us know your views in regard to the whole episode.

Jos Buttler Gets Irked When Journo Repeatedly Asks “Is Jasprit Bumrah The Best?” Video Goes Viral

The Indian cricket team will certainly look forward to win the second ODI against England and take an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the 3-match series as it is already leading by 1-0 in the series. India won the first ODI which was played at The Oval by 10 wickets and a major credit of this win goes to the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah who took 6 wickets and played an important role in wrapping up the English side for just 110 runs. Amazingly, four English batters were not able to open their accounts and out of these four, three (Jason Roy, Joe Root and Liam Livingstone) were dismissed by Bumrah.

The manner in which Jasprit Bumrah bowled, many former cricketers and the former English cricketer Nasser Hussain (while doing commentary) went on to say that Bumrah is the best bowler of the world in all the three formats in the present times. Hussain also said that there may be challengers such as Shaheen Shah Afridi, Trent Boult and Jofra Archer when he is fit but at the moment Jasprit Bumrah is the best.

Talking about Bumrah, Nasser Hussain stated that the Indian pacer’s bowling in the match was just high class and many of his deliveries were absolutely unplayable. He adds that because of Bumrah’s unusual bowling action and run-up, the ball comes at the batter as a thunderbolt and one more thing that is very good about Bumrah is that he not only swings both ways but he is quick too. The legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar also holds the same opinion about Jasprit Bumrah as Nasser Hussain.

After the first ODI, the English skipper Jos Buttler who was the highest scorer (30) for his team attended the press conference and talked about various issues including his team’s performance in the first ODI. Usually, Jos Buttler is a very calm and cool person but during the press conference he seems to have got irritated with a journalist who repeatedly asks him whether he agrees that Jasprit Bumrah is the best bowler across all the formats in the present times.

When journalist asks Jos Buttler to comment on Nasser Hussain’s statement, Jos Buttler says that there are second thoughts about Bumrah being a fantastic bowler who has been a leading bowler for many years now and it seems that he is getting better by each day. Buttler adds that this is the great challenge of playing against the Indian cricket team as we get to face such good cricketers and that is why a cricketer wants to play international cricket because one gets opportunities to challenge himself to the extreme. Talking about Bumrah, Buttler says that there are no doubts Jasprit Bumrah is one of the best and he and his team are looking forward to face him on Thursday.

However, the journalist does not appear to be satisfied with the answer and he once again asks Buttler whether Bumrah is one of the best or the best. Jos Buttler gets a little irked and responds with a two-word answer, “You Decide”.

As far as the match is concerned, India won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami shared 9 wickets between them and dismissed England for just 110 runs which is their lowest score ever in ODIs. India successfully chased the target without losing a wicket as skipper Rohit Sharma (76*) and Shikhar Dhawan (31*) made sure that they take their team home as the winner.

Jasprit Bumrah was adjudged as the Player of the Match which was quite obvious as his figures read 6/19 and hopefully, he will once again trouble the English batters in the second ODI which is going to be played today at the Lords’.
