Elon Musk, the famous business tycoon, keeps making headlines for some reasons every now and then. Some time back, he took social media by storm when he announced that he wanted to buy the micro-blogging site Twitter in order to make it better than ever. Elon Musk expressed his wishes to add new features in Twitter, authenticate all the users, get rid of spambots and increase trust by making the algorithm open source.
There was some confusion related to the deal as many thought that job of the Twitter CEO Parag Agarwal was uncertain and the idea of Elon Musk’s free speech is quite different from that of high officials of the Twitter management but the deal got finalized for $44 billion. However in the month of May, Elon Musk put the deal on hold as he alleged that the Twitter management has failed to provide him with concrete data about fake accounts and bots despite his repeated requests.
Twitter has always maintained that the number of fake bots is less than 5 percent of its total users but now Elon Musk has backed out of the deal citing that the Twitter management hasn’t paid heed to his requests of providing genuine data in regard to spambots.
The Twitter management has got really upset with this decision of Elon Musk and now they are getting ready to take the Tesla owner to court in order to get this deal done.
Meanwhile Twitterati was also not happy with Elon Musk for backing out in this manner and this is how people reacted:

While Elon Musk and his team jave claimed that Twitter has breached the purchase agreement on multiple points, the Twitter management has hired Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz LLP for suing Musk in Delaware.

The 3-match ODI series between India and England will start from today as the first ODI will be played at The Oval and both the teams will certainly like to start the series with a win. The Indian cricket team may have won the 3-match T20I series by 2-1 but this is a new series and the English team will be desperate to attain victory in it, especially after losing the T20I series.
After the England tour, team India will be travelling to West Indies where it will be playing 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is, however that team will be led by Shikhar Dhawan as the skipper Rohit Sharma, pacer Jasprit Bumrah, wicket-keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya have been rested by the selectors. The former skipper Virat Kohli will also be missing from the team as he has asked the selectors not to consider him for the West Indies tour. Some former Indian cricketers including Sunil Gavaskar are not happy with the Indian cricketers, especially the senior players getting rested a lot.
While speaking on a show, Sunil Gavaskar states that he is totally against this concept of resting, when cricketers don’t take rest during the IPL, why they need to take rest while playing for the country. He agrees that in test cricket, body and mind get tired but in T20I, there are only 20 overs in an innings and it doesn’t affect their body much so it is not a big problem when it comes to T20I.
Sunil Gavaskar says that he really feels the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) should look into this matter as these players have Grade A contracts and they are paid a huge amount for playing a match. He questions whether there is any company whose CEO or MD gets so many days off from his work. He is of the opinion that if the Indian cricket has to become more professional, the BCCI definitely needs to pay heed on this issue. As per him, one way is to give the players liberty to choose the series in which they want to play and in which they want to be rested and their contracts should be changed accordingly.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were also rested for the South African series which was played after the IPL 2022 and now they are getting rested for the West Indies tour as well.
Do you agree with Sunil Gavaskar on this? Let us know your views in this regard.

The former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been in news for all the wrong reasons in the recent past. While his lean patch is not coming to an end, his aggressive behaviour in the fifth rescheduled test match has also given a chance to his critics to raise fingers on him. Virat hasn’t scored a century since 2019 in more than 100 matches across all the formats and now the voices of ousting him from the team are increasing in number and getting strengthened as well.
Recently, the former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev under whose leadership India won the first ODI World Cup in 1983 said that Virat Kohli should be dropped from the team in order to make way for the youngsters who are performing. In order to support his statement, Kapil Dev said that if a number 2 bowler in test matches, Ravichandran Ashwin can be made to sit out, why a batsman who was number one at one point of time cannot be benched especially when there are many youngsters who are performing well.
While the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has strongly reacted on this matter and expressed his dissent with Kapil Dev, now Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma has also reacted on the matter in an interview to a leading daily. Sharma says that he doesn’t support the statements made by Kapil Dev in relation to the former skipper of India as nothing big has happened with Virat Kohli. He asks as to why there is so much noise and hurry in regard to Virat especially when he has performed so well for the nation. Reminding about Kohli scoring 70 centuries which is definitely not an easy task, Rajkumar Sharma says that he is sure the BCCI won’t be taking the decision of benching Virat Kohli.
Even though Rajkumar Sharma has made it clear he disagrees with Kapil Dev yet after Virat Kohli’s failure in the two T20Is against England, some other former Indian cricketers such as Virender Sehwag, Venkatesh Prasad, etc. have also tweeted about his ouster from the team. What has irked many is the fact that in order to include Virat Kohli in the squad, the team management has to bench Deepak Hooda who is in great form as of now.

Recently, Romeo Beckham made headlines for the wonderful free-kick from a long range which he converted into a goal while playing for Miami CF II in a match against Orlando City B. Romeo shot a curler near the goal post which goalkeeper was not able to stop, this was the first ever goal of Romeo Beckham in MLS NEXT Pro and the match was won by Miami CF II by 3-1.
The video clip of this goal was posted by the official Twitter handle of MLS NEXT PRO with the caption, “Romeo Beckham scored his first-ever MLS NEXT Pro goal!”
Twitterati started comparing Romeo Beckham to his father David Beckham and soon the latter also reacted on this as he told his son that he is proud of him because he scored the first goal in Miami shirt. In response, Romeo wrote, “Love you dad that was for you”.

The Indian cricketers are trying their best to perform well in whatever opportunity they are getting as they want to cement their place in the Indian squad which will go to play in the T20 World Cup which will take place in Australia later this year.
There is one young Indian cricketer who has certainly secured his place in the squad for the T20 World Cup and he is none other than Suryakumar Yadav. SKY as his fans call him produced a terrific performance in the third and the final T20I against England as he scored 117 runs in just 55 balls and his innings included 14 fours and 6 sixes. He went to bat when India was reeling at the score of 13/2 after losing Rishabh Pant (1) and Virat Kohli (11) while chasing a huge target of 216.
SKY was bang on target as he tore apart the English bowlers but unfortunately, he didn’t get support from the other side as India kept on losing wickets on a regular basis and no other batsman could even touch the 30 runs mark. When Suryakumar Yadav got out, India’s score was 196/8 and 7 balls were remaining in the innings. The Indian batters could manage only 2 runs after SKY’s dismissal as Chris Jordan dismissed Harshal Patel and Ravi Bishnoi in the last over.
The Indian cricket fans along with former cricketers were all praises for SKY despite the fact that India lost the match and amidst this, a decade old tweet of Rohit Sharma got resurfaced in which he talked about Suryakumar Yadav and tweeted that he is someone to look for.
Rohit Sharma made this tweet in December 2011 in which he wrote, “Just got done with BCCI awards here in chennai..some exciting cricketers coming up..Suryakumar yadav from Mumbai to watch out for in future!”
Suryakumar Yadav and the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma play for the same team Mumbai Indians in the IPL as well. Hitman is the most successful IPL skipper as Mumbai Indians has won the league 5 times under his leadership and SKY has also played an important role in these wins.
Hopefully, Suryakumar Yadav will repeat this performance in the T20 World Cup as well.

The young Indian fast bowler Umran Malik who made headlines during the IPL 2022 because of his pace is all over social media at present but for all the wrong reasons. In the league, he played for Sunrisers Hyderabad and bowled at the speed of around 150km/hr or above and in all the matches, he won the prize for the fastest delivery of the match.
Soon, the Indian cricket fans started demanding that the young pacer from Jammu & Kashmir should be a part of the Indian team and the selectors also thought of giving a chance to the youngster by including him in the team for the Ireland tour where India played 2 T20Is.
However in his debut match against Ireland, Umran Malik went for 14 runs in his first over after which the stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya didn’t give him another over. In the second T20I, Umran Malik once again failed to make an impact as he went for 42 runs in his 4 overs and took just one wicket.
The Indian team management once again gave a chance to the young pacer as they included him in the team which played and lost the third and final T20I of the 3-match series against England. As India was leading in the series by 2-0, some big changes were made in the squad as all-rounder Hardik Pandya, pacers Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and spinner Yuzvendra Chahal were replaced by Ravi Bishnoi, Shreyas Iyer, Avesh Khan and Umran Malik.
Umran Malik performed poorly against England in the 3rd T20I as he gave away 56 runs (economy rate – 14) in his 4 overs and took only one wicket. The pace sensation who was making waves during the IPL 2022 for his team SRH was declared unfit for the international cricket by many online users who trolled Umran Malik mercilessly.

With this performance, Umran Malik has secured the third spot in the list of bowlers who have given the most runs in T20 cricket, the first being Yuzvendra Chahal (0/64), second is Joginder Sharma (0/57) while Deepak Chahar and Umran Malik have tied for 1/56.
Many fans now feel that Umran Malik should be sent to play domestic cricket while the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has stated that Umran Malik is in their scheme of things for the T20 World Cup.
What is your opinion in this matter? Do let us know.

The Indian cricket team lost the third and the final T20I against England which was played at Trent Bridge yesterday despite the heroic efforts of Suryakumar Yadav who scored 117 runs in just 55 balls and his innings included 14 fours and 6 sixes. No other Indian batsman could even touch the 30 runs mark as the team fell short by 17 runs while chasing the target of 216.
The biggest disappointment of the match was the dismissal of Virat Kohli who was looking in good touch as he hit David Willey for a four and then for a straight six but then he gave a catch to Jason Roy while trying to play one more big shot. Virat Kohli has been going through a tough phase and he has failed miserably in the past few matches in making an impact with his bat plus he didn’t score big in the fifth rescheduled test match against England and in the two T20Is as well.
Many former cricketers and experts have now started talking about Virat Kohli’s exclusion from the team, recently the legendary former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev stated that if the world’s number 2 bowler in test cricket, Ravichandran Ashwin can be made to sit out, why a player who used to be the world’s number one player can’t be dropped from the team. Kapil Dev was pretty clear when he said that a player can’t carry on just on the basis of his reputation, especially when there are many youngsters who are performing well.
During the press conference which took place after the third match, Rohit Sharma was asked to comment on the opinions of the experts who want Kohli to be dropped. The Indian skipper states that there is a thought process which is followed in the team and the players are supported depending on that. Rohit Sharma doesn’t agree with the comments made by Kapil Dev and says that he is seeing things from the outside and has no knowledge of what is happening inside. Hitman adds that a lot of thinking goes in making a team and outside people can’t get to know about this. He goes on to say that whatever happening outside is not important for him and instead he gives significance to what is happening inside.
Talking further in this regard, Rohit Sharma states that such things can happen to everyone, it has happened to him as well but what needs to be kept in mind is that quality of a player doesn’t get affected whether his form is up or down. He further says that a player who has performed well for so many years doesn’t become a bad player if he doesn’t perform in 1-2 series and the past performances of the player can’t be overlooked as well. Rohit Sharma adds that those who are in the team know the value of the player and those who are outside can say whatever they want but he doesn’t give importance to that.
While Kapil Dev and Ajay Jadeja have earlier talked about Virat Kohli’s exclusion from the team in their own style, recently former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Venkatesh Prasad also expressed their unhappiness over Virat’s inclusion in the team on the basis of reputation. Though both of them didn’t take any name, it was easy to understand about whom they are talking about.
Viru Paaji wrote, “India has so many batsman who can get going from the start , some of them are unfortunately sitting out. Need to find a way to play the best available players in current form in T-20 cricket. #IndvEng”
Venkatesh Prasad talked about the times when the big players also used to get dropped and they would have to go back to domestic cricket to earn their place in the national squad. He also expressed his unhappiness over the manner in which yardsticks changed and gave example of legendary Anil Kumble who also had to sit out on some occasions.
