Not Just Jasprit Bumrah But These Famous Fast Bowlers Also Led Teams At International Level

The fifth rescheduled test match between India and England has started from July 1 and this test match will decided whether India will win the series or the series will end in a tie as India is leading by 2-1 as of now. As Rohit Sharma has tested COVID-19 positive, team India is being led by pacer Jasprit Bumrah and this is certainly the first time that a pacer is leading the Indian squad. Though many people will say that Kapil Dev who has been an inspiration for many Indian pacers has already led India yet we can’t completely deny the fact that Kapil Dev was an all-rounder who was also known for his explosive batting style.

However, today we will let you know about some popular pacers of the world cricket who have also led their teams (we are talking about only those pacers who captained their side after 2010):

1. Stuart Broad (England):

The English cricketer Stuart Broad is definitely one of the best pacers of the present times and he is also playing in the ongoing fifth rescheduled test match against India which is being played at Edgbaston. He is the seventh bowler to reach the mark of 500 wickets and fourth pacer and the second bowler for his country after James Anderson to achieve this milestone. Stuart Broad has captained the team of his nation in the shorter formats including the T20I World Cup 2014.

2. Pat Cummins (Australia):

Pat Cummins was appointed as Australia’s skipper last year after Tim Paine resigned from the post. Pat Cummins is the first Aussie pacer to lead the team full time and he was also a part of the Australian squad which won the T20 World Cup 2021.

3. Mashrafe Mortaza (Bangladesh):

The former cricketer turned politician Mashrafe Mortaza captained his team in all the three formats but he is considered as the best skipper of Bangladesh as far as shorter formats are considered. The pacer used to open the bowling and he was the first Bangladeshi pacer to cross the 148km/hr mark.

4. Suranga Lakmal (Sri Lanka):

The former Sri Lankan pacer played in all three formats for his country and also led his team in the purest format of the game. He faced the toughest time of his life and career when he got injured because of the anti-social elements who attacked the Sri Lankan team when it was in Pakistan. He featured regularly in test team but in short formats, he didn’t appear on a regular basis.

5. Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka):

The former Sri Lankan cricketer is one of the most popular cricketers of all times. Moreover, he is famous among fans not just for his superb bowling skills but also for his hairstyle as well as his bowling action. Malinga was also called “Slinga Malinga” and he was the skipper of the team which won the 2014 T20 World Cup after defeating India in the finals by 6 wickets which was played at Mirpur.

6. Tim Southee (New Zealand):

Tim Southee, the Kiwi pacer, has also captained his side whenever the regular skipper Kane Williamson is rested or is injured. He has led the team in 1 ODI and 20 T20Is.

7. Kyle Mills (New Zealand):

The former Kiwi cricketer who made his international debut in 2004 and played till 2015 has also led his team in the limited overs format.

Who is your favorite among all these?

“All The Skills You See, It’s All Me,” Bumrah’s Wife Sanjana Hilariously Reacts To His Batting

The Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah has been performing pretty well in the fifth rescheduled test match against England not just with bat and ball but also in regard to his captaincy. The Indian team is currently dominating the test match which is being played at Edgbaston as it has taken a considerable lead on the fourth day of the match.

Jasprit Bumrah is leading India for the very first time and he was selected for the task because Rohit Sharma got tested COVID-19 positive and KL Rahul was already injured. Though Jasprit Bumrah has no experience of leading the side, we should admit that he is doing pretty well in this test match and his batting was certainly a revelation as he not only scored 31 of 16 balls but also played an important role in making his team cross the 400 mark. If this was not enough, he got his name registered for scoring the most runs in an over in a test match by hitting 35 runs in an over of Stuart Broad. In the first innings of England, it was Jasprit Bumrah who started sending the England batters back to pavilion as he dismissed the three top order batters (Alex Lees, Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope).

Jasprit Bumrah’s family was also quite excited after he was appointed as the skipper of the team and recently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) posted an interview video clip of Sanjana Ganesan (wife of Jasprit Bumrah) in which she revealed the reactions of Bumrah’s family members.

Sanjana who is a sports journalist by profession stated that Jasprit’s mother was the most excited as she always wanted her son to perform well and she gave many tips and tricks to him despite the fact that she doesn’t play cricket herself. When Sanjana was asked about the tips that she gave to her husband, she hilariously said that she focused only on his batting and it was because of her that Jasprit Bumrah batted so brilliantly. In her words, “All the skills you see, it’s all me”.

As far as the match is concerned, India has lost its 4th wicket in the form of Cheteshwar Pujara who played a patient knock of 66 runs for which he played 168 balls and his innings included 8 fours. By the time this article was written, India’s score was 161/4 with Rishabh Pant batting at 43 and Shreyas Iyer batting at 4.

Hopefully, we will again see Jasprit Bumrah hitting some good shots in the Indian team’s second innings.

“Chamiya Naach Rahi Hai,” Sehwag Reacts To Virat Kohli’s On-Field Dance As Sam Billings Gets Out

The former Indian skipper Virat Kohli has a reputation of being expressive on the field and he is one of those few Indian cricketers who don’t mind sledging the opposition players. In the ongoing test match against England which is being played at Edgbaston, he made headlines for sledging the in-form England batter Jonny Bairstow who played an important role in England’s 3-0 series win against New Zealand recently. However, the move of sledging Jonny Bairstow backfired as the England batter started hitting the Indian bowlers to all the corners of the field and scored 106 runs before getting caught by Virat Kohli on the bowling of Mohammed Shami.

Virat once again came into limelight but this time because of the former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag who made a cheesy comment on Kohli’s celebration style on the dismissal of Sam Billings. The England batter Sam Billings was looking in good touch as he was playing on 36 runs on 56 deliveries and his innings included 4 fours. As Mohammed Siraj dismissed Sam Billings, Virat Kohli started dancing with joy and Virender Sehwag who was doing commentary in Hindi at that time said, “Chamiya naach rahi hai” (Chamiya is dancing).

Here is the video:

While Virat Kohli is seen fully involved in the match, his fans are quite disappointed with him as once again, he has failed to make an impact with the bat and his century drought doesn’t come to an end even in this match.

As far as the match is concerned, England has scored 284 runs in its first innings in response to India’s 416 runs and currently, the visitors have a little upper hand as they are leading by 257 runs. India has scored 125/3 in its second innings with Chesteshwar Pujara (50*) and Rishabh Pant (30*) at the crease. 2 days are still remaining in this test match and there are good chances that the result will certainly come in this game.

What do you think of Viru Paaji’s comment? Do let us know.

Stump Mic Catches Virat Kohli Sledging Jonny Bairstow, Sehwag Reacts Hilariously

The ongoing fifth rescheduled test match between India and England is in a very interesting phase as the visitors have taken lead of 257 runs at the end of day 3 as the hosts could manage only 284 runs in response to India’s 416 in the first innings. Before the start of the test match, the England cricket experts were of the opinion that India stands no chance in this test match because of the manner in which England whitewashed the Kiwis in the recently concluded 3-match test series. One of the biggest reasons of England’s success in that series was English cricketer Jonny Bairstow who scored 377 runs in four innings and his innings included two centuries and one fifty (71*).

There is no denying the fact that a new era has started under the leadership of new skipper Ben Stokes and guidance of coach Brendon McCullum but in this test match, Jonny Bairstow was finding it difficult to score runs freely especially against Mohammed Shami. The former Indian skipper Virat Kohli who is known for being a livewire on the field took this as an opportunity to sledge Jonny Bairstow, in fact at the end of the 14th over, Virat sledged Jonny by giving the reference of Tim Southee and all this was heard because it was picked by the stump mic.

Virat Kohli was heard saying, “Little bit faster than Southee, eh?”

There were few more occasions when Virat Kohli sledged Jonny Bairstow in an attempt to break his concentration but it had a wrong effect on Bairstow as he started hitting the Indian bowlers and scored runs quickly.

In fact, the former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag made a tweet in this regard as he tweeted that before sledging, Bairstow’s strike rate was 21 but after sledging, it increased to 150. Viru paaji further wrote that Bairstow was playing like Pujara but Kohli made him play like Rishabh Pant by sledging unnecessarily.

Check out Sehwag’s tweet:

Jonny Bairstow scored 106 runs (140 balls, 14 fours & 2 sixes) and helped his team reach the total of 284.

The Indian team has scored 125/3 in its second innings with Cheteshwar Pujara (50*) and Rishabh Pant (30*) on the crease. The wickets that have fallen are Shubman Gill (4), Hanuma Vihari (11) and Virat Kohli (20).

Whatever the result may be but Virat Kohli failed in ending his century drought in this match as well.

5 Reasons Why Timberland Boots Are So Popular

What Made Timberland Boots So Popular?

Every time the rains end in winter and the snow starts to fall, people take their Timberland boots out and stick with them for the rest of the season. Be it men’s Timberland boots or women’s, both have been equally popular ever since they came out a few years back. And there is a good reason behind that. But did you know that the name Timberland and the original design of these boots were given back in 1973? Yes, that was when the production line started. But a million pieces were already sold by the time they reached 1985. In this article, we are going to explore the various reasons behind the popularity of these boots, so, without any further ado, let’s dive right in!

The innovative design of the boots was one of the primary factors that helped them rise to fame in their initial days. Timberland also believes that as a brand, they not only have to think about how they can make their boots stand out in terms of design but also what type of impact they are leaving behind on nature. A very crucial part of the company culture is creating products that help people adapt to the outdoors.

Over the years that Timberland has been in the market, they have not been stagnant and have constantly been innovative about its design. If you want to survive the winters, these are definitely one of the best winter boots you can find on the market. From 1973, Timberland also started manufacturing waterproof boots that became an integral part of their marketing campaign.

Helping Communities

People support Timberland by buying its products because of the work it does for the communities. The company believes that if they want to make global change happen, then it can be done only through the power of a strong community. In fact, did you know that full-time employees of the brand receive 40 hours of paid work toward volunteering in their own communities? Yes, that’s amazing, isn’t it? Back in 2019, Timberland had also signed the Generation T Pledge, an act shown to support students and graduates with some skillset.

Sustainability

Everyone is looking for sustainable fashion brands, and Timberland fulfills all the checkboxes. In fact, one of the biggest strengths of the brand is its pledge toward sustainability. They focus on planting trees more than anything because they understand their importance in the overall well-being of humans. In fact, this is so important to them that they have planted over ten million trees starting in 2001, and their aim is to plant 50 million more trees by 2025.

Endorsed by Famous Rappers

Another reason behind the popularity of the Timberland boots is that they are very commonly seen in the rapping and hip-hop community. Several famous rappers around the world have genuinely endorsed them. This has increased the reputation of the brand and also enhanced people’s faith in them. In fact, if you visit New York, you can see Timberland almost everywhere – such has become the popularity of this brand.

Long-Lasting

There is no denying the fact that Timberland boots come with a hefty price tag, and it’s only justified that they last you for a long time. If online reviews from real customers are to be believed, then most people say that these boots easily last for four to five years. That being said, if you take good care of them, you can add a couple more years to their life span.

Conclusion

The best thing about Timberland boots is that they can be used for a wide range of activities. If you think of the original design, then they were mainly meant for people who did a lot of outdoor activities so that the boots could keep them warm in winter. But if you are planning a trip to a location where there’s going to be snow, Timberland is definitely a brand you can go for, as their footwear will give you a good grip on slippery surfaces.

“Get Your Facts Right,” Indians Roast Michael Vaughan For Comparing Rishabh Pant To Bairstow

The former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has a history of getting trolled by Indians and former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer because he is mostly very critical of the Indian cricket team as well as the Indian cricketers. He got trolled once again but this time he was not critical and instead, his choice of words was not completely correct which irked the Indian fans who not only slammed him for being biased but also schooled him for what he should have stated in reality.

The fifth rescheduled test match between India and England started yesterday at Edgbaston; the hosts won the toss and put the visitors to bat first. India didn’t have a good start as the openers (Shubman Gill & Cheteshwar Pujara) got out early, Hanuma Vihari got dismissed early too and Virat Kohli once again failed in making a big score. While Shreyas Iyer got out at a low score leaving India fighting at the score of 98/5, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja took the responsibility of taking India out of problem.

As the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman started tearing apart the English bowling lineup, the former English cricketer Michael Vaughan took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and praised Rishabh Pant by comparing him to Jonny Bairstow who performed superbly for his team in the recently concluded 3-match test series against New Zealand which England whitewashed by 3-0.

Michael Vaughan tweeted, “This is great viewing.. @RishabhPant17 doing a Jonny B … #ENGvIND”

The Indian cricket fans quickly point out that Rishabh Pant has been batting in this manner for nearly 3-4 years now while Jonny Bairstow has started playing like this from the last series only.

Rishabh Pant played a superb innings of 146 runs for which he played only 111 deliveries. He along with Ravindra Jadeja added 222 runs in the Indian score and this partnership is the highest against England for the sixth wicket. Jadeja got out for 104 runs but Jasprit Bumrah who is leading the team in this test match also made headlines because of his smashing innings of 31 runs which included 4 fours and 2 sixes. Bumrah broke Brian Lara’s record of scoring maximum runs in one over in a test match as he scored 35 of Stuart Broad’s over.

“Pant Is In A League Of His Own,” Rishabh Pant’s Fiery Ton In 5th Test Leaves Twitter In Awe

The Indian cricket team made a strong comeback after getting reduced to 98/5 at one point in the fifth rescheduled test match which is being played at Edgbaston as it ended the first day on 338/7 with the help of beautiful innings of Rishabh Pant (146 runs, 111 balls, 19 fours & 4 sixes) and a brilliant knock of 83 runs* (165 balls, 10 fours) by Ravindra Jadeja.

The toss was won by the hosts and they decided to bowl first, decision of the English skipper Ben Stokes was proved correct by the England bowlers as James Anderson sent the Indian openers Shubman Gill (17) and Cheteshwar Pujara (13) back to pavilion quite early. If this was not enough, Matthew Potts didn’t let Hanuma Vihari settle on the crease and got him lbw out at the score of 20. Rishabh Pant came to bat after Hanuma Vihari departed and when everybody thought that he and Virat Kohli would bring the team out of the tough situation, the former Indian skipper was sent back by Matthew Potts at the score of 11 and left India reeling at the score of 71/4. Things turned uglier further when Shreyas Iyer also departed soon at the score of 15 and India was 98/5.

It was then Ravindra Jadeja arrived at the crease and he along with Pant not only brought India out of the problematic situation but also made it possible for the team to cross the 300 mark. Rishabh Pant took some time in settling down but after that, he counterattacked England by scoring runs at a quick pace. He started hitting as soon as Jack Leach was introduced by Ben Stokes, the spinner had a good time against New Zealand as he took a 10-wicket haul but Rishabh Pant hit him for a six and a four in the same over.

Rishabh Pant smashed a century in 89 balls and his ton certainly came at a time when India needed it the most. Pant got out at the score of 146 for which he faced only 111 deliveries and soon the micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with reactions praising him for his knock.

Other than Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja also played a superb innings as he completed his third century (104) before getting out on the bowling of James Anderson on the second day of the game. As far as the match is concerned, by the time this article was written, the Indian team had got all out for 416 and the skipper Jasprit Bumrah left everyone surprised with his smashing innings of 31 runs for which he played only 16 balls and his innings included 4 fours and 2 sixes. Bumrah brought back the memories of 2007 T20 World Cup alive as in that tournament, Yuvraj Singh scored 36 (6 sixes) of Stuart Broad’s one over and the current test skipper scored 35 runs in one over of Stuart Broad.

Currently, India is leading by 2-1 in the series; which team do you think will win this test match?
