The former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has a history of getting trolled by Indians and former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer because he is mostly very critical of the Indian cricket team as well as the Indian cricketers. He got trolled once again but this time he was not critical and instead, his choice of words was not completely correct which irked the Indian fans who not only slammed him for being biased but also schooled him for what he should have stated in reality.
The fifth rescheduled test match between India and England started yesterday at Edgbaston; the hosts won the toss and put the visitors to bat first. India didn’t have a good start as the openers (Shubman Gill & Cheteshwar Pujara) got out early, Hanuma Vihari got dismissed early too and Virat Kohli once again failed in making a big score. While Shreyas Iyer got out at a low score leaving India fighting at the score of 98/5, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja took the responsibility of taking India out of problem.
As the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman started tearing apart the English bowling lineup, the former English cricketer Michael Vaughan took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and praised Rishabh Pant by comparing him to Jonny Bairstow who performed superbly for his team in the recently concluded 3-match test series against New Zealand which England whitewashed by 3-0.
Michael Vaughan tweeted, “This is great viewing.. @RishabhPant17 doing a Jonny B … #ENGvIND”
The Indian cricket fans quickly point out that Rishabh Pant has been batting in this manner for nearly 3-4 years now while Jonny Bairstow has started playing like this from the last series only.
Here are some selected reactions:

@MichaelVaughan doing @MichaelVaughan things. The old English approach of just being unable to bear anyone's success against his own countrymen. …Just get a life Mr. Vaughan.#ENGvsIND Cricket wise…i believe game still evenly poised with the way Eng played NZ. Weather
Rishabh Pant played a superb innings of 146 runs for which he played only 111 deliveries. He along with Ravindra Jadeja added 222 runs in the Indian score and this partnership is the highest against England for the sixth wicket. Jadeja got out for 104 runs but Jasprit Bumrah who is leading the team in this test match also made headlines because of his smashing innings of 31 runs which included 4 fours and 2 sixes. Bumrah broke Brian Lara’s record of scoring maximum runs in one over in a test match as he scored 35 of Stuart Broad’s over.
The Indian cricket team made a strong comeback after getting reduced to 98/5 at one point in the fifth rescheduled test match which is being played at Edgbaston as it ended the first day on 338/7 with the help of beautiful innings of Rishabh Pant (146 runs, 111 balls, 19 fours & 4 sixes) and a brilliant knock of 83 runs* (165 balls, 10 fours) by Ravindra Jadeja.
The toss was won by the hosts and they decided to bowl first, decision of the English skipper Ben Stokes was proved correct by the England bowlers as James Anderson sent the Indian openers Shubman Gill (17) and Cheteshwar Pujara (13) back to pavilion quite early. If this was not enough, Matthew Potts didn’t let Hanuma Vihari settle on the crease and got him lbw out at the score of 20. Rishabh Pant came to bat after Hanuma Vihari departed and when everybody thought that he and Virat Kohli would bring the team out of the tough situation, the former Indian skipper was sent back by Matthew Potts at the score of 11 and left India reeling at the score of 71/4. Things turned uglier further when Shreyas Iyer also departed soon at the score of 15 and India was 98/5.
It was then Ravindra Jadeja arrived at the crease and he along with Pant not only brought India out of the problematic situation but also made it possible for the team to cross the 300 mark. Rishabh Pant took some time in settling down but after that, he counterattacked England by scoring runs at a quick pace. He started hitting as soon as Jack Leach was introduced by Ben Stokes, the spinner had a good time against New Zealand as he took a 10-wicket haul but Rishabh Pant hit him for a six and a four in the same over.
Rishabh Pant smashed a century in 89 balls and his ton certainly came at a time when India needed it the most. Pant got out at the score of 146 for which he faced only 111 deliveries and soon the micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with reactions praising him for his knock.
Rishabh Pant is India’s best ever wicket-keeper batter in ‘Tests’ …and he’s not even 25 yet. The number of Test match defining innings he’s played in just 30 matches is simply sensational. #ENGvIND
What a fierce knock by rockstar Rishabh Pant against a quality english bowling unit under such circumstances. Best way to fight a fire is to fight it with the fire. #EngVsIndpic.twitter.com/q2mPeqTWyi
What a masterclass from @RishabhPant17. Simply outstanding! Good hand from Jadeja as well. This partnership is working wonders for India after being in a precarious situation earlier! #INDvsENG
Rishab pant – Test cricket maverick !! Strongly feel to emulate his test performance, he MUST open in white ball cricket . Exactly what the great Adam gilchrist did for Australia . Could be a game changing options for #INDvsENG
Box office stuff from Rishabh Pant. One of the best counter-attacking innings that one will ever see. One special player. #INDvsENG

Other than Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja also played a superb innings as he completed his third century (104) before getting out on the bowling of James Anderson on the second day of the game. As far as the match is concerned, by the time this article was written, the Indian team had got all out for 416 and the skipper Jasprit Bumrah left everyone surprised with his smashing innings of 31 runs for which he played only 16 balls and his innings included 4 fours and 2 sixes. Bumrah brought back the memories of 2007 T20 World Cup alive as in that tournament, Yuvraj Singh scored 36 (6 sixes) of Stuart Broad’s one over and the current test skipper scored 35 runs in one over of Stuart Broad.
Currently, India is leading by 2-1 in the series; which team do you think will win this test match?
The Indian batter Rishabh Pant answered his critics in a very solid manner by scoring a century in the fifth rescheduled test match against England which is being played at Edgbaston and what makes this innings of Pant more special is the fact that it came at a time when team India needed it the most.
Presently, India is leading by 2-1 in the 5-match series and England was going pretty strong from the start as it sent five Indian top order batters back to the pavilion at the score of 98. However, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja not only stopped the England bowlers from taking wickets but also kept the score board ticking. Pant was faster between the two as far as the speed of scoring runs is concerned because he completed his century in 89 balls.
How important Rishabh Pant’s century was can be understood by the reaction that the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid gave. The former Indian cricketer who is also referred to as The Wall by his fans is known to be a reserved person who doesn’t express his emotions much but as Rishabh Pant completed the second run to reach his century, Rahul Dravid jumped up from his seat and gave an animated reaction.
Here in this video in which you can watch the ultimate reaction of Dravid:
Rishabh Pant, you beauty!
Is there a more exciting Test cricketer in the modern game?!
Rishabh Pant was caught by Zak Crawley on the bowling of Joe Root at the score of 146 for which he played 111 balls and his innings included 19 fours and 4 sixes. By the time Rishabh Pant departed, the Indian team was on the score of 320 and both the batters Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja produced a partnership of 222 runs which is the highest ever against England for the sixth wicket.
At the end of the day 1, India was at the score of 338/7 with Ravindra Jadeja at the score of 83 and marching towards his third test century strongly and Mohammed Shami at 0.
We have seen Rahul Dravid rarely showing his emotions but on this occasion, even he was not able to control his excitement.

We as humans have definitely failed in making this world a better place to live as crimes against women are taking place almost in every country. Though the governments all around the world are trying their level best to stop these crimes, a lot still remains to be done. However because of all these criminals who are men by gender, many other men have to suffer because a notion has been created in our minds that a man can never be a victim, he can only be a culprit.
The same is the reason why whenever we get to hear that a man or boy is s*xually abused or exploited, we tend to take it as a joke rather than listening to him seriously despite the fact that some males also have to face such horrific incidents in their lives. What make things worse is the fact that there is no law in India which identifies rape of a man as a criminal offence, in fact a man can only be a perpetrator of rape and not a victim. Even more sadly, it’s a common perception that men can’t be weak, they can’t cry or show their tears otherwise they will be mocked or ridiculed, they have to be strong physically as well as mentally, they are supposed to offer their seat to a female in a bus and so on but why? Though the society that we live in is called a male dominated one but many men are undergoing trauma and suffering in this world and they can’t even talk about it to anyone because nobody will believe them.
Here we present a heart-breaking short movie which very categorically explains what a man goes through when he becomes a victim of any such incident and how people around him react when he tries to talk to them about it.
The story revolves around a man who is about to get married but just one week before his wedding, he gets raped. How he handles the entire trauma and what happens when he gathers courage to somehow share it with his friend is something that will make you emotional too.
Going through such a distressing incident is really painful and people should at least listen to the man when he shares anything like that and if they can’t help, the minimum they can do is not to increase his agony further by mocking him.
The Indian cricket team is presently playing the rescheduled fifth test match against England at Edgbaston, Birmingham, and as of now, the visitors seem to be in a problematic situation as they have lost their top five order batsmen even before touching the three figure mark. The skipper Rohit Sharma is not playing as he has been tested COVID-19 positive and in his absence, it is the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah who is fulfilling the responsibility of a skipper.
Though Jasprit Bumrah lost his first toss today yet this toss was quite a happening event as Bumrah was spontaneous and witty while talking to former English cricketer Mark Butcher who was the presenter of the event. Mark Butcher congratulates Jasprit Bumrah for donning the skipper’s cap for the first time and also says that this is the first time an Indian pacer is leading team India.
In response, Bumrah says that Kapil Dev has led the Indian team earlier but Butcher interrupts by saying that he was an all-rounder and then in response, Bumrah says, “Alright, all-rounder if you say so”.
Here is the video of the toss and the conversation which took place between Jasprit Bumrah and Mark Butcher:
The experts were already not giving much chance to the Indian team in this test match because of the manner in which the English cricket team has whitewashed the 3-match test series against New Zealand and after seeing the present condition, it seems that they were correct.
As far as the match is concerned, by the time this article was written, India was 150/5 with Rishabh Pant (40 runs*) and Ravindra Jadeja (26 runs*) on the crease. While Indian openers Shubman Gill (17) and Cheteshwar Pujara (13) failed in giving a good start to the team, Hanuma Vihari (20) also failed in stabilizing the situation but the biggest disappointment was Virat Kohli who departed at the score of 11 runs.
The Indian team is leading in the series by 2-1 but do you think they will be able to win the series?
The environment is going through a very tough time as pollution is increasing at the very high rate and majority of humans are still not in the mood to change their ways despite the fact that global warming and its effects are quite visible on all of us. Plastic is also playing an important role in increasing pollution and though many of us have reduced the use of plastic in our daily lives, still it is present in our lives in good amount. The government has also taken quite a few steps, the latest being imposing a ban on plastic from July 1 (today).

However, there are few people in this world who are trying their level best to deal with this menace and the Junagadh authorities certainly need to be praised for coming up with a great idea in this regard. Junagadh is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat and a café has been inaugurated over there on June 30 where people can eat delicious dishes without paying money. Yes, customers won’t need to pay money and they may get these dishes in exchange of plastic waste, the more the plastic waste, the bigger the platter.
Representational Image
People can come with their household plastic waste in the café and they will be provided with food depending on weight of the plastic. The good thing is that food provided in the café will be made from organic items which will be procured from local farmers and most of the dishes will be made using bel leaf, rose, figs and betel leaf and customers will be served dishes in utensils made of clay.
Rachit Raj, the collector of Junagadh, states that they want to promote clean and green Junagadh. He adds in the beginning, a glass of lemon juice or fennel juice will be given to customers in exchange of 500 gm plastic and a plate of poha or dhokla in exchange of 1 kg plastic waste. An agency has also been hired in order to buy the waste collected at the café.

This is not the first time that a café has taken such a step as a café in Odisha and two dhabas in Hisar, Haryana, also practicing this concept. Let us also pledge that we reduce use of plastic in our lives as much as possible and do our bit in relation to saving the environment.
