Car Gets Stuck On Huge Speed-Breaker In MP, Owner Satirically Lauds Engineer, Pic Goes Viral

Every year many people lose their lives in road accidents and what is even sadder is that the number of road accidents can reduce considerably if people start being more careful and sensible while driving. The road traffic authorities and the governments come up with different measures to make drivers drive in a proper manner and construction of speed-breakers is also one of these measures.

Representational Image

However what will you say when a speed-breaker becomes a huge problem for commuters because it not just reduces the speed of a vehicle but sometimes vehicles also get stuck on it?

A bizarre incident took place recently in the city of Bhopal where a speed-breaker is so high and wide that a car (KIA Seltos) got stuck on it. As per the reports, the name of the car’s owner is Abhishek Sharma and while posting the photo of the car which got stuck on the speed-breaker, he took a dig at the engineer and the administration.

He wrote, “A big salute to the excellent engineer who made this speed breaker. Cars often get stuck on this but the administration is mum”.

It is being said that the car was stuck in this manner for quite few hours and it was towed later on. While this model had a good ground clearance of 190mm, the situation would have been worse for the low-hanging vehicles as there must be chances of their engines getting damaged.

The photo went viral on social media and many people demanded that the person responsible for it should be punished and those who have suffered because of this speed-breaker should be paid compensation.

One Twitter user shared the photo with the caption, “How to build speed-breakers? This photo is not just for laughing but the representative of people and authorities should take notice of it and ensure that whoever contractor-engineer is responsible for it should pay for the damages”.

“Shoaib Akhtar, Umran Malik Who?,” Bhuvneshwar’s Fastest Delivery Of 208Kmph Sets Twitter On Fire

The relatively less experienced Indian cricket team headed by Hardik Pandya is on the tour to Ireland where it is scheduled to play 2-match T20I series. The senior Indian cricketers such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, etc. are in England as of now as they will be playing the fifth rescheduled test match.

Though the Indian team playing in Ireland is younger and less experienced yet it has experienced players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar who is also the vice-captain of the team along with wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik who made a comeback in the Indian team after 3 years.

The first T20I which was played at The Village was rain affected and the 20-20 overs match was reduced to 12-12 overs match in which the visitors won the toss and decided to bowl first. Ireland put up a score of 108/4 runs on the board with the help of Harry Tector’s brilliant knock of 64 runs not out (33 balls, 6 fours & 3 sixes). The Indian bowling was much disciplined and the Indian bowlers didn’t give enough chance to the Ireland batters to open up and score freely. While the sensational pacer Umran Malik made his debut in this match, the whole attention was shifted to Bhuvneshwar Kumar not because he bowled well but because he bowled the fastest deliveries in the history of cricket and that too two times.

Well, there was nothing serious as whatever happened was the error of speed gun which showed that Bhuvneshwar Kumar breached the 200 km/h mark two times. As it was noted by some cricket fans, soon the micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with reactions.

Here are some of the selected ones:

The Indian team achieved the target with 7 wickets in hands and with 16 balls remaining in its innings. The openers Deepak Hooda scored 47 runs not out (29 balls, 6 fours & 2 sixes) while Ishan Kishan made 26 runs (11 balls, 3 fours & 2 sixes). The skipper Hardik Pandya also played a quick knock of 24 runs for which he played 12 deliveries and his innings included 1 four and 3 sixes. Yuzvendra Chahal, the Indian spinner, was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his superb bowling 1/11 in 3 overs.

The second T20I will be played today at the same venue and we really hope that it doesn’t get affected because of rain.

Friends Sue Groom For Rs 50 Lakh As He Ditched Them & Left With Baarat Even Before Time

The Indians are known for their love of big fat weddings but one pretty common thing which happens in almost each marriage is that baarat (marriage procession) is always late. Baarat gets late mostly because of friends of the groom who take their own time for dancing but what will you say about that person who insulted his friends rather than taking them with him in his marriage?

Representational Image

A weird incident took place in Haridwar’s Bahadurabad area where a groom cheated and insulted his friends by leaving for marriage before the scheduled time.

As per the reports, Ravi was getting married and he asked one of his friends Chandrashekhar to help him a little by distributing wedding invitation cards on his behalf. Chandrashekhar agreed and he distributed cards on Ravi’s behalf and on the wedding day, he along with other friends of Ravi reached his house but they found that Ravi had already gone for wedding with his baarat. The time of departure of baarat as per the wedding card was 5 pm and Chandrashekhar along with others reached before time but after not finding Ravi at his house, they all felt perplexed.

Chandrashekhar made a call to Ravi in order to clear the situation, Ravi told him that they all should return to their respective homes as they all were late. This treatment from Ravi didn’t go well with Chandrashekhar and he decided to take the legal route.

Representational Image

Chandrashekhar has filed a defamation suit against Ravi worth Rs. 50 lakhs as he alleges that he has got mentally tortured by those whom he has given wedding cards and he also wants Ravi to apologise within three days.

Well, this is a weird incident but it will be interesting to see how Ravi will react to the legal suit.

What is your take with regard to the bizarre happening? Share with us.

Why Are Debt Mutual Funds Better Than Fixed Deposits

To outline why debt funds are more tax-efficient than your fixed deposits, you first need to understand their definition. Let’s learn further about them in a nutshell through the given narration.

Put simply; deft funds are the mutual funds that invest in debt securities. A majority of debt funds have greater exposure to government securities. However, they may even take exposure to the institutional or private debt in order to achieve higher returns.

In India, retail investors think that bank fixed deposits are a stable investment over the last few decades. And banks are referred to as the blue-chip institutions, and with bank FDs, there’s a minimum risk factor.

Why are the debt funds more appreciated among Indian retail investors?

There are two things altering drastically and that point out the importance of debt mutual funds over FDs:

  • Firstly, the interest rate has been falling ever since 2015 (inflation at 1 to 2% has caused the rates to only go down further)
  • Next, investors are unable to make any profit with interest rates shifting downward in this market

That’s where the debt funds come into being.

On average, the debt funds offer an annualized return of around 10 to 12% based on the invested fund. As a debt fund investor, one needs to earn that interest on the bonds and earn capital gain as soon as the bond price goes up.

One quick note: The bond price will only rise with the reduction in the interest rate.

In addition, the debt funds are liquid & may get monetized at short notice. However, the most terrific advantage that favours debt funds is the tax treatments. Here’s pointing down the details why online mutual funds investment in India is a better solution.

Treatment of the interest achieved via FDs & dividends on the debt mutual funds

Besides the lower rate of interest, fixed deposits have an additional downfall considering the tax. The interest on the banks for FDs gets treated as the regular wage in investors’ hands. Thus, it gets taxed at the tax’s peak rate.

Suppose you’re in 30% of the tax bracket & the bank pays around 8% of interest. In such a case, the post-tax yield on FDs will become 5.6% upon adjusting the tax. That’s enough to cover the risks of inflation, especially in India.

On the contrary, the dividends paid out by debt funds are tax-exempt in the investor’s hands. Indeed, one may argue that the debt funds must withhold the tax on dividend payouts. However, even upon considering the impact, the effective returns for the debt fund holders are much higher.

Understanding what exactly is accrual strategy in the debt funds

You focus on earning an interest income from the debt funds & hold papers until it gets matured under the debt funds’ accrual strategy. The fund managers always follow the accrual strategy in the fixed income instruments of medium or short-term maturity. It’s primarily a buy & hold tactic where the instruments in a portfolio get held until maturity.

The accrual funds are the debt mutual funds that aim to earn the interest income from coupons offered by the securities in a portfolio. Nonetheless, the accrual funds might obtain a return from the capital gains as a small portion of the return.

The TDS deduction on the interest payments

If the bank FD offers the interest, the TDS or tax deduction at the source gets applied automatically. Note that in such a scenario, the interest offered to the individual must be more than Rs. 10,000 every year. Indeed, the TDS is the accounting adjustment, but it creates logistical and procedural hassles for any investor.

Let’s take an example here. When the individual is not coming under any taxable bracket, they may require submitting the form 15G/15H to their bank. In case the TDS gets deducted, the individual requires filing the returns. And then, he needs to claim his refunds from the income tax section.

In each way, the procedure becomes a bit complex, given that a solid chunk of demand for the bank FDs appears from the retired pensioners and persons. The debt funds, on the contrary, are never subjected to the tax deduction at the source. In addition, the TDS question on the debt fund dividend is just applicable only in the case of the NRIs.

Treatment of the capital gain

It’s another area where the investor requires understanding in accordance with the debt funds and FDs. There’s absolutely no question of the capital gains in the case of FDs because they get redeemed at face value. Nonetheless, the capital gain might be a question in the case of debt funds. The debt funds get treated as the non-equity financial asset for calculating the capital gains.

That results in the cut-off for the classification as the long-term capital gains are around three years in the case of any debt fund. When the debt funds get sold within a span of three years, it gets classified as the short-term capital gain & taxed at a high rate. When the debt fund gets held for more than three years, it is long-term. And it gets taxed at 20% upon considering indexation benefits.

Nonetheless, most debt funds pay out profits as dividends – more tax efficient. So, it explains why a majority of investors always choose the dividend plans when it’s about debt funds. There might be one thing to say in favour of the FDs in banks.

When the investor parks money in the long-term FD with the bank, they get an additional advantage of the exemption to around 1.5 lakh that might be available on the investment under Income Tax Act 80C. But considering the Income Tax Act 80C, the equity schemes offer more profitable processes of saving the tax.

5 Indian Cricketers Who Give Credit Of Their Success To MS Dhoni & His Exceptional Leadership

Being the captain of the Indian cricket team is certainly one of the toughest jobs of the world because India is a cricket crazy nation and every person holds himself in high degree when it comes to knowledge about cricket. However, fortunately we have got some really great skippers who have led team India in an impeccable manner and MS Dhoni is certainly one of them.

Touted as one of the most successful skippers of India, Dhoni is the only skipper to win the three major ICC tournaments (2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup & 2013 Champions Trophy) and he also had the reputation of mastering his resources in the best possible manner which is one of the important reasons of his success as the skipper. Mahi knew how to use a player’s talent so that it is beneficial not only for the team but for the player as well.

Here are 5 players whose career got lifted because of MS Dhoni:

1. Rohit Sharma:

The current skipper of the Indian cricket team Rohit Sharma credits MS Dhoni for success as one decision taken by the former skipper changed his career completely. Hitman as his fans love to call him made his international debut in the year 2007 but his career took a dive upwards only after he started opening the innings. Before the 2013 Champions Trophy, MS Dhoni asked Rohit Sharma to open the Indian innings along with Shikhar Dhawan and since then Rohit has never looked back. In an old interview, Hitman stated that Mahi wanted him (Rohit) to open the innings as he was pretty much sure that Rohit would do well as he can play both cut and pull shorts and he has all the qualities which are needed to be successful as an opener.

2. Kuldeep Yadav:

Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal were highly successful when MS Dhoni was behind the wickets and there is no denying the fact that Mahi is the biggest reason behind Kuldeep’s success that he achieved in the beginning years of his career. Speaking of Dhoni’s contribution in his success, Kuldeep Yadav said in an interview that no matter how big the batsman is, the man standing behind the wickets is the biggest. He added that he always felt as if his coach is standing behind the wickets and guiding him. Kuldeep further said that he and Yuzi were just like soldiers who followed Mahi’s orders without questioning.

3. Yuzvendra Chahal:

Just like Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal also owes the golden period of his career to MS Dhoni. In an interview, Yuzi stated that he and Kuldeep used to trust Mahi blindly because the former skipper used to see the complete picture from behind the wickets and he knew what was happening.

4. Hardik Pandya:

Hardik Pandya has made a great comeback in the Indian team after leading his IPL team Gujarat Titans in its debut season and making it win the IPL 2022. He stated in an interview that he learnt a lot from the former skipper and it was Dhoni who ensured that Hardik who was a raw material at that time got groomed in a proper manner. Pandya Jr. said that MS Dhoni gave him complete freedom because he wanted him to learn from the mistakes that he makes. According to the GT skipper, MS Dhoni made him capable enough to survive in tough environment of the international cricket and though he never indicated or let Hardik know yet he was always taking care of the fact that the Gujarat cricketer got groomed in a correct manner. Hardik Pandya will be leading the Indian team on the Ireland tour where India will play 2-match T20I series against Ireland.

5. Deepak Chahar:

The fortune of Deepak Chahar changed when he was picked by MS Dhoni-led IPL team Chennai Super Kings and since then the pacer hasn’t looked back. The value of Deepak Chahar can be understood by the fact that CSK spent a huge amount of Rs. 14 crore for buying him back in the IPL 2022 mega-auctions, however he was ruled out of the tournament because of injury. In an old interview, Deepak Chahar said that it was his dream to play under MS Dhoni and he learnt a lot under his captaincy. He said that Mahi took his game to another level, always supported him and also made him learn to take responsibility.

Very few have the vision & decision-making ability like MS Dhoni has and India is blessed to have had a captain and a player like him!
