Viru Says India Will Rule Test Cricket With These Two Players & Even Target Of 400 Won’t Be Enough

The Indian cricket team is certainly one of the strongest teams of the world despite the fact that it hasn’t won a single ICC tournament since 2013 whether it is in white ball cricket or red ball cricket. The Indian squad under Virat Kohli’s leadership played the finals of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship 2019-21 which it lost to the New Zealand cricket team that was led by Kane Williamson.

There is no denying the fact that future of the Indian cricket is very bright as there is a huge pool of talent. Recently, the former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag talked about the same and he was all praises for two young Indian cricketers.

He was talking about none other than Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant; both of them have a reputation of being explosive batters and Sehwag feels that with these two in the team, India will not only win the World Test Championship but also rule the world of cricket.

Sehwag further adds that with these two batters playing for the Indian squad, the opposition will think that even a target of 400 would not be enough.

Both Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant had a great start to their careers but as of now one of them has established himself in the team for all the three formats of the game and the other one has lost his place in the national team after dismal performances.

Rishabh Pant who is presently leading the IPL team Delhi Capitals has emerged as one of the most explosive batsmen of all times and he plays in all the three formats for the country. On the other hand, Prithvi Shaw scored a century on his debut but then after some disappointing performances, he was dropped from the team, the last test match Shaw played for India was in Adelaide 2020. Some former cricketers also pointed out a flaw in Shaw’s technique but the young cricketer has worked hard since then and has scored a lot of runs not just at domestic level but in the IPL as well.

Talking about Prithvi Shaw, Viru paaji states that he can bring excitement back in the test cricket. The former Indian cricketer also talks about Rishabh Pant who has already scored centuries in Australia and England. Viru says that a cricketer doesn’t play in limited overs to score a fifty or a century but to score at a good pace and if Rishabh Pant bats at number 4 or 5, he will have to bear more responsibility but he may be more successful, if he plays as an opener.

Well, there is absolutely no doubt that these two cricketers are very talented! Do you agree with Virender Sehwag’s perception about them? Let us know your views.

4 Players Who Will Be In India’s T20 World Cup Team But Are Going Through A Lean Patch In IPL

The Indian Premier League 2022 is nearing towards its end; Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans has become the first team to enter the play-offs and soon we will also come to know about the three other teams which will be entering the play-offs. The IPL is known for giving a platform to the youngsters to showcase their talent and while many Indian youngsters such as Ayush Badoni, Umran Malik, Tilak Varma, etc. have impressed everyone with their performances, some big names of the Indian cricket have disappointed everyone in the ongoing IPL 2022.

In this article, we are going to tell you about few Indian cricketers who have performed pretty badly in the IPL 2022 but there are good chances that they will be a part of the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup which will take place in Australia later this year.

1. Ravindra Jadeja:

A lot was expected from the Indian cricketer who is considered as one of the finest all-rounders of all times but he disappointed his fans big time. Ravindra Jadeja was appointed as the new skipper of Chennai Super Kings just before the start of the IPL 2022 but he failed miserably as a skipper and his personal performance with bat and ball was also below the par.

MS Dhoni was once again made the skipper of the team as Jadeja expressed his wish of focusing on the game but now the latter has been ruled out the league because of an injury. However, there are rumours that Ravindra Jadeja and the CSK management are not on good terms and he may not be a part of the squad next year. In 10 matches that Jadeja played in the IPL 2022, he scored just 116 run and was able to take 5 wickets only.

2. Virat Kohli:

The former Indian cricket team skipper has been going through a lean patch for a long time now and even though he showed some signs of getting back in form, they were not much convincing. Virat Kohli got out for three golden ducks in the IPL this year and his form has been a matter of serious concern not just for RCB but also for the Indian selectors.

Virat hasn’t been able to score a big score in the IPL 2022 and though he scored 58 runs in one of the matches yet for that, he played 53 balls and ended up increasing pressure on other batters of his team. In the ongoing tournament, the former skipper of RCB has scored only 236 runs at an average of 18.15 and majority of the former cricketers and experts are of the opinion that he should take a break from cricket for some time now.

In the last match of RCB which was against GT, Virat played a smashing innings of 73 runs for which he played 54 balls but because of this one knock, we can’t overlook his performance in the entire IPL 2022 so far which has been below the average.

3. Rohit Sharma:

The skipper of the Indian national team is dealing with one of the worst phases of his career as he is able to neither score runs nor make his team win. Mumbai Indians has won the IPL trophy five times under his leadership but in this season, it is at the bottom of the points table with just 3 wins in the 13 matches that it played. Rohit Sharma has scored merely 266 runs in the 13 matches played by him at an average of 20.5 which is far below than what is expected from Hitman especially when he is one of the openers of MI.

4. Rishabh Pant:

He was touted as a special talent when he made his international debut and he also proved his leadership ability when he led Delhi Capitals in the absence of Shreyas Iyer because of which the DC management thought of sticking to Pant as the skipper even when Shreyas Iyer made a return in the team.

However in the IPL 2022, not just Rishabh Pant’s batting but his captaincy is also under question because neither he has been able to play big innings nor his captaincy has been flawless. In fact, he was heavily slammed for his behavior in an IPL match which DC played and lost against Rajasthan Royals. Despite this all, he will certainly be considered for the national team as he is one of the finest all-rounders of the present times.

Though these players may have been struggling in the ongoing league, no one can deny the fact that they are good cricketers and once they are back in form, they can wreak havoc on the opposition.

“Virat On Fire,” Twitter Outbursts With Reactions After Kohli’s Smashing 73 Against GT

The Indian cricketer Virat Kohli was going through a rough phase for a long time but yesterday in an IPL match which Royal Challengers Bangalore played against Gujarat Titans, King Kohli got his form back as he played a beautiful and smashing innings of 73 runs for which he played 54 balls.

His innings included 8 fours and 2 sixes and with this, he became the first batter to score 7000 runs for a single franchise in the IPL. Kohli has scored a half-century earlier in the first match against Gujarat Titans too but in that match, he scored runs at a very slow rate which ultimately increased pressure on other RCB batters.

In yesterday’s match which was played at Wankhede Stadium, RCB defeated GT by 8 wickets as the former successfully chased the target with 8 balls remaining in its innings and Virat Kohli was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his superb innings. Though Kohli got couple of lifelines, he still deserves all the credit for his wonderful innings and for playing an important role in his team’s win.

As fans got to see the vintage Virat Kohli in action, they started celebrating and expressed their happiness on the social media platforms. Check out some of the selected reactions:

As far as the match is concerned, GT won the toss and chose to bat first but it had a poor start as the opener Shubman Gill departed for just 1 run and soon Matthew Wade also got dismissed for just 16 runs (13 balls, 2 fours and 1 six). Hardik Pandya led from the front as he scored 62 runs not out (47 balls, 4 fours and 3 sixes) and he was well supported by Wriddhiman Saha (31 runs, 22 balls, 4 fours and 1 six) and David Miller (34 runs, 25 balls, 3 sixes).

GT managed to put up a total of 168/5 on the score board and in response, RCB had a great start as the openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis (44 runs, 38 balls, 5 fours) put up a partnership of 115 runs for the first wicket. Glenn Maxwell also played a blistering knock of40 runs (18 balls, 5 fours and 2 sixes) and RCB comfortably won the match which was a must-win for them to keep the chances of entering the play-offs alive.

Virat Kohli getting back in form is certainly good news for his ardent fans and the selectors too because he is an integral part of the Indian team. Now it will be interesting to see if RCB will get to enter the play-offs. What do you think?

Matthew Hayden Revealed How Umran Malik Exposed This MI Batter Against Quality Fast Bowling

The SRH pacer Umran Malik is all over the news and not just cricket fans but many former cricketers and people from the cricket fraternity are also excited because of his raw pace and fiery bowling which has left many batters helpless as they are not able to handle the young bowler’s pace.

The former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden is very impressed with Umran Malik’s bowling and recently he talked about how the young pacer from Jammu & Kashmir scaring the top batters of Mumbai Indians. In the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, Umran Malik took 3 wickets (Ishan Kishan, Daniel Sams & Tilak Varma) and Matthew Hayden feels that Umran Malik exposed the vulnerability of MI’s star batter Ishan Kishan against good quality pace.

Talking in a cricket show on a sports show, the former Aussie cricketer says that along with unknown or uncapped players, Ishan Kishan has also got exposed against good quality fast bowling and that is a reason to worry for the Indian batter because once a batter reaches the highest level, he will constantly face fast bowling at the speed of 140-150 km/h. Matthew Hayden adds that it will be more difficult for the batter if the wicket will have bounce in it.

Ishan Kishan got out on a full-length delivery from Umran Malik which he could not connect well with the bat and ended up hitting the ball in the air and Priyam Garg took a beautiful catch.

Matthew Hayden further says that Umran Malik’s pace excites him and he loves the manner in which he has scared Ishan Kishan who was batting at 43 at that time. Hayden said that the previous ball was a bouncer and Umran Malik understood that Ishan Kishan was under pressure so he bowled a full-length delivery and the MI batter played an under pressure shot which resulted in losing his wicket. Matthew Hayden also praised Umran Malik for giving his team a breakthrough when MI was in a good position.

Currently Umran Malik is on a roll as he has taken 21 wickets in the tournament but the same can’t be said for his team SRH which has a very bleak chance of entering the play-offs. Two new IPL teams Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants have already qualified for the play-offs and now only two spots are left in the play-offs.

James Anderson Opens Up On The Rumours Of Rift Between Him & Joe Root

The England cricketers James Anderson and Joe Root are two pillars of the England cricket team who have given many moments of happiness to the English cricket fans but there were rumours that both these players had a fall-out and they are not on talking terms. It all started after James Anderson and Stuart Broad were not included in the squad for the West Indies tour. As Joe Root was the skipper at that time, there is no doubt that he played an important role in the ouster of James Anderson and Stuart Broad from the team and both the English pacers didn’t hesitate in expressing their disappointment in the statements made by them.

The English team lost the 3-match test series against West Indies by 0-1 and it was the last time Joe Root led England in test matches as he gave up the captaincy after that and Ben Stokes has been appointed as the new skipper of the England cricket squad.

Recently James Anderson, the most successful test pacer with 640 wickets, gave an interview in which he denied rumours of his fall-out with Joe Root. He says that nothing of this sort has happened and they both talk to each other and respect each other as well. Anderson refuses any feeling of animosity between him and Root and adds that he had a chat with the former skipper before he announced his decision of stepping down from the captain’s post.

Both the players James Anderson and Joe Root are playing in the County Championship for different teams and in one of the matches, Anderson dismissed Root with a beautiful inswinger. Talking about that delivery, Anderson said that he watched its video few times and what he liked the most about that delivery was that it was a good ball and though it was not supposed to reverse, it certainly drifted in a little bit. James Anderson called that delivery a wobble seam which means that the ball was bowled with seam up.

New Zealand will be touring England and both the nations will play three test match series starting June 2. Both James Anderson and Stuart Broad will be making a comeback as the new skipper Ben Stokes has openly talked about their return in the team.

This series will mark the starting of a new era as the England squad will not only have a new skipper but also a new coach in the form of former Kiwi cricketer Brendon McCullum.
