Durham Will ‘Speak Privately’ To Its Head Coach James Franklin After Chahal’s Revelations

The Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal brought a storm in the cricket world by making a startling revelation about a horrific incident which happened with him in the year 2013 when he was with the Mumbai Indians squad. Yuzi told that in a get-together which took place after a match in Bengaluru, there was a drunk player (whose name Chahal didn’t disclose) who was constantly looking at him.

The leg-spinner further said that the drunk player called him, took him outside in the balcony and hung him from the fifteen floor. Chahal said that he was holding that player’s neck strongly because of which he didn’t fall; luckily after some time, other people came and handled the situation.

Yuzi narrated this incident in a video which was posted on the official Twitter handle of Rajasthan Royals and as people started talking about it, an old podcast interview of Chahal also began doing rounds. In that interview, he narrated another incident which happened in 2011 when he was in a hotel in Chennai with the MI team. He said that after winning a match, there was a get-together in which Andrew Symonds and James Franklin drank a lot of fruit juice after which they lost control over themselves.

They both tied his hands and legs and asked him to open himself. After some time, they taped his mouth and forgot completely about him. Yuzi remained in this condition till the morning until a cleaner came and freed him. When Chahal was asked whether Symonds and Franklin apologized to him in the morning, he said that they didn’t apologize but said that they don’t remember anything after drinking a lot of fruit juice.

James Franklin who is currently the coach of Durham Country Cricket Club may be in trouble as the management has decided to talk to him in private with regard to this incident. In a statement sent to a sports news website, the Durham management states that they are aware of the recent reports of an incident which took place in 2011 and one of their employees is also named in that. The club further states that as the matter is related to their employees, the club will be speaking privately to all the parties involved in order to seek the truth.

James Franklin was a member of MI from 2011 till 2013 and during this period, he played around 25 matches in the IPL and Champions League.

On the other hand, many former Indian cricketers have asked Yuzvendra Chahal to reveal the name of the drunk player and the former head coach of Indian team Ravi Shastri has even demanded a life ban on that drunk player.

“Reading Through MCC Laws Of Cricket, Here’s What We Found,” RCB’s Bold Tweet On Virat’s Dismissal

The two most successful teams of IPL – Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are going through a very bad phase in the IPL 2022 as both the teams have lost all the four matches that they played. While the four times champion CSK is at the 10th spot, the five times champion MI is on the 9th position in the points table.

Mumbai Indians lost its last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore which was played on April 9 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. RCB decided to bowl first after winning the toss; the Mumbai batters had problem in facing the RCB bowlers excluding Surya Kumar Yadav who scored 68 not out (37 balls, 5 fours & 6 sixes) and helped his team in posting a decent total of 151/6 on the score board.

RCB had a steady start as its openers Faf du Plessis (16) and Anuj Rawat (66) put up a partnership of 50 runs for the first wicket but what became a topic of discussion was the controversial dismissal of Virat Kohli who missed his fifty by just 2 runs.

Virat Kohli was given lbw on the bowling of Dewald Brevis, a review was taken by Kohli and the decision was upheld by the third umpire as well which obviously irked the former RCB skipper and his frustration was clearly visible as he walked out of the ground. Kohli’s dismissal was certainly very close as the ball touched bat and pad simultaneously but as per the rule in this situation, the touch with the bat should be given priority which means that Virat Kohli should have been given not out.

The Bangalore franchise chose to make a bold statement in this regard by talking about this law in a tweet with the caption, “We were just reading through the MCC Laws of Cricket for LBW decisions, and here’s what we found. Unfortunate that Virat Kohli had to walk back disappointed after a brilliant knock.”

RR Skipper Sanju Samson Speaks On Ashwin’s Decision To Be Tactically Retired Out In RRvsLSG

The IPL team Rajasthan Royals is having a good run in the IPL 2022 as it is on the top of the points table with 3 wins in the 4 matches that it has played. RR’s fourth match was against the new IPL team Lucknow Super Giants which was played yesterday at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, and RR was put to bat first after LSG won the toss.

RR openers Jos Buttler (13) and Devdutt Padikkal (29) gave a decent start to the team but things turned a little difficult for the team as it lost its skipper Sanju Samson (13) and Rassie van der Dussen (4) quite early. It was then Ravichandran Ashwin (28) was promoted up the order to stabilize the innings with Shimron Hetmyer who played a blistering knock of 59 runs not out (36 balls, 1 four & 6 sixes) to help his team in putting up a fighting total of 165/6.

Though this match was a thrilling encounter and had a nail-biting finish as RR won the match just by 3 runs, it will also be remembered for the tactics used by R Ashwin and the RR management as Ashwin becomes the first batsman to get retired out in the history of the IPL.

Usually a batsman leaves the field retired hurt if he suffers an injury or feels sick and he may come back to bat once he feels alright; however, there is also a provision for a batsman to leave the field as retired out without getting out and he may return to bat only if the skipper of the opposition team allows him for it.

R Ashwin batted in a responsible manner and supported Hetmyer in the best possible manner but at that time, RR needed a more attacking batsman on the crease because of which R Ashwin got retired out with 10 balls remaining in the RR innings and Riyan Parag (8) was sent to bat in order to score runs in a fast manner.

After the match, Sanju Samson made a revelation that what R Ashwin did was a team decision. He added that at RR, they always try to do new things and it was already decided before the IPL started that they would use this tactic if such a situation arises.

On the other hand, Kumar Sangakkara stated that though the team had already talked about this tactic, the decision of giving up his wicket was Ashwin’s own decision. Sangakkara added that Ashwin was asking from the field and it was the correct time to do that as he had already made a wrong move by sending Rassie van der Dussen ahead of Riyan Parag.

Yuzvendra Chahal was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his superb bowling performance as he took 4 wickets and gave 41 runs.

“Put Ajinkya Rahane On The Bench,” Angry Fans React After His Dismal Performance Against DC

Kolkata Knight Riders would have secured the top position in the IPL points tally if it had won its fifth match in the IPL 2022 which was against Delhi Capitals. The match was played yesterday at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai and KKR chose to bowl first after winning the toss. DC got a great start as its star batsman David Warner (61) and Prithvi Shaw (51) produced the partnership of 93 runs for the first wicket and gave a pretty good platform to their team for making a big score. However, the DC middle order crumbled a little as skipper Rishabh Pant was got out for 27 and then it lost quick wickets in the form of Lalit Yadav (1) and Rovma Powell (08). Axar Patel (22) and Shardul Thakur (29) managed the situation in a good manner and in the end, DC posted a huge total of 215/5 on the score board.

In response, KKR had a bad start as its openers Ajinkya Rahane (8) and Venkatesh Iyer (18) got out early. Though the skipper Shreyas Iyer (54) tried to take things on the right track with the help of Nitish Rana (30) and Andre Russell (24), KKR lost the match by a big margin of 44 runs and this left KKR fans bitterly disappointed.

Soon the micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with tweets in which fans expressed their annoyance and anger and majority of them suggested that out of form Ajinkya Rahane should be replaced with any other player such as Sunil Narine, Rinku Singh, Aman Khan, Sheldon Jackson, Abhijeet Tomar, etc. while Rahane should be benched.

As far as the IPL 2022 is concerned, Ajinkya Rahane has scored 44, 9, 12, 7 and 8 in the five matches that he has played and in the match against DC, his strike rate was around 57 which is unacceptable for an opener, especially when the team is chasing a decent target of 216 runs.

Ashneer Grover’s Sister & BharatPe CEO’s Fight Sets Twitter On Fire With Hilarious Memes

Ashneer Grover, the co-founder of BharatPe became a household name after the business reality show Shark Tank India got aired on the television. Shark Tank India gave many business owners a chance to get funding for their businesses by making a presentation about their product or business in front of the investors who were known as sharks. The show was an adaptation of an American show of the same name and Ashneer Grover was certainly the bluntest shark in the panel of the Indian sharks who gave rude remarks to those business owners whom he felt have useless products or they are wasting their time.

However, now the situation is a little different as Ashneer Grover has been accused of misappropriation of funds by BharatPe management and while Ashneer’s wife has been sacked, he was also made to put his papers and all the titles in the company have been snatched from him.

Recently, Ashneer Grover got an opportunity to take a dig at the BharatPe management as an employee of the company Karan Sarki made a post on LinkedIn in which he requested the co-founder Shashvat Nakrani and CEO Suhail Sameer to pay their salaries of March. Karan also says that the old staff has been removed by the management without giving any reason whatsoever and their reimbursement bills also haven’t been paid since December. He also states that he and others who had been with the company since its beginning are now nowhere because of the internal politics of the top brass. He goes on to allege that the staff of BharatPe is enjoying a paid trip to Goa but engraved employees like him are not even getting their salary.

Yami Gautam Gave A Mouth-Shutting Reply To Anupama Chopra’s Platform For Its Review Of “Dasvi”

The Indian cinema is recovering in a great manner after facing wrath of the COVID-19 pandemic for almost two years and now the moviemakers have also shed their inhibitions of releasing films on digital platforms instead of cinema halls. Recently Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam starrer “Dasvi” got released on OTT channel and it got mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike.

However, Yami Gautam got angry with the manner in which Anupama Chopra’s Film Companion reviewed the movie and the performances of the actors, especially of Yami. The “Kaabil” actress took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and slammed the entertainment portal in a series of tweet.

She writes that though she takes criticism in a constructive manner, it becomes necessary to speak when a portal tries to pull you down consistently. She also posts a screenshot from the review that is about her performance and which she finds really disrespectful especially when her recent movies include “A Thursday”, “Uri: The Surgical Strike” and “Bala”. Yami also speaks about how it hurts when it takes many years of hard work and determination especially for a self-made actor to prove his/her caliber and some big portals try to demean the actor.

Yami also states that there was a time when she looked up to Film Companion but she doesn’t feel the need to do it anymore and she also requests the portal not to review her performances in the future.

Soon netizens also started reacting and majority was in support of the actress, however Film Companion also responded to Yami Gautam by tweeting, “Dear Yami. We are sorry you feel that way. Please be assured, that there was no disrespect meant. Thank you.”

While some online users feel that Film Companion is always against the self-made actors as they support the products of nepotism, there are many who strongly believe that this all has happened because Yami has not only praised Vivek Agnihotri’s “The Kashmir Files” but also asked people to watch it.

“Symonds & Franklin Tied My Hands & Legs, Taped My Mouth & Forgot About Me,” Reveals Chahal

The Indian cricket world and cricket fans are literally in a state of shock after Yuzvendra Chahal and Robin Uthappa made some shocking revelations in the past couple of days. What has left people more annoyed is the fact that both the incidents have taken place in the IPL franchise Mumbai Indians which has won 5 IPL titles till date and has been represented by the legendary former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in the past.

While Robin Uthappa was bullied by someone whose name he didn’t disclose, what was experienced by Yuzi was traumatic. In a chat with Ravichandran Ashwin, Robin Uthappa who is playing for Chennai Super Kings in this season revealed that this incident happened just one month before IPL 2009. As per Uthappa, he was one of the first players along with Manish Pandey and Zaheer Khan to get transferred to other teams but as he didn’t want to leave MI, he was bullied by someone who told him that if he didn’t sign the transfer papers, he would not be in the playing XI of MI. Eventually, Uthappa signed the transfer papers and as he was going through something in personal life at that time, it transformed into depression when he was in Royal Challengers Bangalore.

On the other hand, in a video posted by Rajasthan Royals recently, Yuzi talked about an incident which happened in 2013. Though he did not disclose the name of that player, he told that the player was very drunk and he hung him from the 15th floor balcony and Chahal might have lost his life if he had not held that player’s neck strongly. He further stated that luckily other people came, handled the situation in a proper manner and saved him.

However, this was not the first time that Yuzi faced such a situation, earlier in a podcast interview he revealed one more horrifying incident which happened with him. He stated in 2011, they were in a hotel in Chennai after winning the Champions League and he was with Andrew Symonds and James Franklin. Yuzi said that Symonds and Franklin had drunk a lot of fruit juice after which they both tied his hands and legs and told him to untie himself. He further said that they were under so much influence of that fruit juice that they also taped his mouth. The party got over but they didn’t untie Yuzi as they forgot about the Indian spinner. Eventually he got free when a cleaner came in the morning and freed him.

The podcast interviewer asked Chahal whether Symonds and Franklin apologized to him in the morning, in response Chahal told that they didn’t apologize but they said that when they drink too much of juice, they are not able to handle it and they don’t even remember anything.

Many former Indian cricketers including Virender Sehwag and Ravi Shastri have reacted strongly to the revelations made by Yuzi and stated that the name of that drunken player should be revealed and an action should be taken against him because what happened with Chahal is not at all funny.

Though Andrew Symonds was involved in such a bad incident with Yuzi, the Indian spinner has stated many times that he and Symonds are very good friends now, they both go fishing when Chahal visits Australia and Symonds’ wife has also learnt how to cook Butter Chicken for him.
