LPG Cylinder Price Hiked By Rs 50, Petrol-Diesel By 80 Paise, Twitter Reacts With Memes

Inflation is definitely a matter of concern for common public as it becomes difficult for them to manage their household if the prices of necessary products keep on rising. Recently, there was an increase in the prices of LPG cooking gas, petrol and diesel which has become the talk of the town on social media.

Representational Image

The prices of LPG increased by Rs. 50 per cylinder while the rate of petrol and diesel increased by 80 paise per litre. However, their prices are different in each state because of the different rates of local taxes imposed in each state. As per the reports, the price of a non-subsidized LPG cylinder (14.2 kg) will cost Rs. 949.50 in Delhi and Mumbai but in Kolkata and Chennai, the consumers will need to spend Rs. 976 and Rs. 965.50, respectively.

The Delhites will have to pay Rs. 96.21 per litre for petrol and Rs. 86.67 per litre for diesel now. This hike in the prices will certainly affect the monthly budget of common public as the increasing prices of petrol and diesel will further increase the price of transportation and it will directly affect the prices of groceries and other fmcg products.

After the price rises, the Indian Twitterati lost cool and started expressing their views by means of memes and jokes. These rib-tickling reactions will make you laugh and cry at the same time:

“Forget The Money, That’s Come & Gone,” Ravi Shastri Has A Golden Advice For IPL Cricketers

The IPL 2022 will be starting in a couple of days and what makes this season more interesting and exciting is the fact that there will be 10 teams which will contest for the trophy rather than 8 like earlier seasons. The pressure to perform will certainly be there on the players,  especially on those who have been bought for a huge amount by their franchises.

Ravi Shastri, the former Indian cricketer, is also a part of the commentary panel of the IPL 2022 and recently while addressing a press conference, the 59 years old former head coach of team India stated that it is important for the players to forget about the money factor because it comes and goes. He adds that it is easier to say than to do but the cricketers have to go to the basic and start from the scratch and if the players start thinking of how much they have made, this is going to build extra pressure on them.

Ravi Shastri is also of the opinion that the IPL 2022 will offer a great opportunity to the national selectors to find a fresh face for the post of the Indian captain as many young Indian cricketers will be leading their IPL teams. As per him, Rohit Sharma will be there for a couple of years and India will need a new solid skipper in the near future in the white ball format. He goes on to say that the national selectors will get a good chance in the league to see how the youngsters lead their respective teams which will help them in making their pick.

While we have already seen Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals), Shreyas Iyer (he led DC before Rishabh Pant) and KL Rahul (earlier Punjab Kings, now he will lead the new team Lucknow Super Giants) in the role of captains, it will be interesting to see how Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans) and Mayank Agarwal (Punjab Kings) will lead their respective teams in the tournament.

Ravi Shastri has been following the IPL very closely as he has done commentary in many seasons excluding the four years when he was the Indian squad’s head coach.

Hopefully, the youngsters will listen to his advice!

From Lagaan To Bhool Bhulaiyaa, These 8 Hit Movies Were Rejected By Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji, the veteran Bollywood actress, is known for her superb acting skills, gorgeous looks and beautiful smile. The actress hails from a filmy background and becoming an actress was the last thing on her mind because there were already so many in her family. However on her mother’s insistence, she tried her luck in the film industry in 1996 with Hindi movie “Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat” and Bengali flick, “Biyer Phool”. Both the films released on the same day.

Rani’s acting was praised by critics but the movie tanked at the box-office and she returned to studies but she decided to become an actress after seeing the success achieved by her cousin Kajol. Rani Mukerji gave many hit movies later in her career such as – “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, “Saathiya”, “Bunty Aur Babli”, “Chalte Chalte”, “Veer Zaara”, “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna”, etc.

1. Aa Gale Lag Jaa (1994)

“Aa Gale Lag Jaa” was directed by Hamid Ali Khan and the female lead was first offered to Rani Mukerji but she refused to work in it as her father was not supportive of her working in movies at such a young age. 2. Dil Se.. (1998)

Directed by Mani Ratnam, “Dil Se..” starring Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala and Preity Zinta was not a very big hit but still it has a loyal fan base. The role of chirpy and cute girl which was played by Preity Zinta was first offered to Rani Mukerji but she was not able to work in the movie.

3. Lagaan (2001)

This is one movie which made history on the box-office despite being of a long duration. “Lagaan” is set in a period before independence and the role played by Gracy Singh was first offered to Rani Mukerji which she declined.

4. Munna Bhai MBBS (2003)

Rani Mukerji’s loss was once again Gracy Singh’s profit as the former refused to play the role of female lead and it went to the latter just like in “Lagaan”. The movie was directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starred Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Boman Irani and others in important roles.

5. Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005)

The flick starred some big names of the industry such as Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Boman Irani, Rajpal Yadav, etc. and it is quite an emotional film which can make even a strong hearted person cry. The role of Priyanka in “Waqt: The Race Against Time” was first offered to Rani but she couldn’t do it.

6. Heyy Babyy (2007)

“Heyy Babyy” was loved by audiences and it starred Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Vidya Balan and Boman Irani in important roles. Rani Mukerji was first offered the role of Vidya Balan in the comedy flick but she rejected it.

Once again Vidya Balan played the character which was rejected by Rani Mukerji and it won’t be wrong to say that Vidya did a great job. “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” also starred Akshay Kumar, Shiny Ahuja, Paresh Rawal, Ameesha Patel and others.

8. The Namesake (2007)

Suresh Raina Names 4 Cricketers Who Can Take Dhoni’s Place In CSK After His Retirement

The Indian cricket fans are very excited as the IPL 2022 will start soon on March 26 with four times champion Chennai Super Kings clashing against the two times champion Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. While MS Dhoni will be leading CSK in the same manner as he has been doing since the inaugural edition of 2008, KKR will step on the field under the leadership of their new skipper, Shreyas Iyer.

MS Dhoni has been the undisputed leader of CSK in the last 14 years except 2016-2017 when the Chennai franchise was banned from playing in the tournament. It is quite certain that MS Dhoni who has already retired from the international cricket will lead CSK in the IPL 2022 but it is also true that he will be retiring from the league in couple of years and the big question is that who will lead CSK after Dhoni bids goodbye to the IPL.

Suresh Raina, the former Indian cricketer was also an integral part of the Chennai team since last season but surprisingly CSK didn’t even bid for him in the mega-auction for the IPL 2022 and eventually, the left-handed batsman from Uttar Pradesh went unsold. Raina played for more than a decade for CSK and he is the only cricketer who has led CSK other than Dhoni, obviously in the absence of Mahi. Suresh Raina is also known as Mr. IPL because of his prolific batting, he is the fourth highest run-getter in the history of the IPL and he has certainly played an important role in CSK’s title wins excluding the IPL 2021.

Recently in an interview, Suresh Raina has named four cricketers whom he feels have the capability to lead the Chennai team after Dhoni retires from the league. In Raina’s opinion, the four cricketers who are capable of leading CSK are Ravindra Jadeja, Ambati Rayudu, Robin Uthappa and Dwayne Bravo.

In the four names stated by Suresh Raina, the Gujarat cricketer Ravindra Jadeja seems to be the strongest contender as he is the first retention of CSK and will be paid Rs. 16 crore while Dhoni is the second retention who will be paid Rs. 12 crore.

In the long term, Ruturaj Gaikwad who is the fourth retention (Rs. 6 crore) can also be a great option because he already leads Maharashtra in the domestic circuits.

Though Suresh Raina won’t be playing in the IPL 2022, he will still be a part of the tournament as he will make his debut in commentary this season.

In your opinion, which player will be the best option to lead CSK after Dhoni’s retirement from the IPL? Let us know your pick.

Shubman Gill Downplays His Low Strike Rate, “It’s About Adapting To Different Situations”

The young Indian cricketers will certainly play an important role in the IPL 2022 and Shubman Gill is one such youngster to look for in the tournament which is going to start in 4 days from today. Earlier, Shubman Gill used to play for Kolkata Knight Riders but he was acquired by the new franchise Gujarat Titans ahead of the mega-auction for the IPL 2022.

Shubman Gill has played for the country as well and there is no doubt about his talent in anyone’s mind but the matter of discussion among cricket fans is that his strike rate of 123 is quite low in comparison to the strike rate of other young cricketers of his age in the shortest format of the game.

However, Shubman Gill has chosen to practice hard rather than getting distracted because of all these talks and in a recent interaction, he states that there are many things which are dependent on the situation in which a batsman goes out to bat and there are different targets as well. He also says that a batsman can’t go out to bat with the same mindset in every innings as the wicket or the pitch can also behave in a different manner.

The Punjab cricketer adds that if a batsman plays with the same strategy, it will become very easy for the opposition to deal with him and experience plays an important role when it comes to getting adjusted to different situations. He adds that he will surely learn some new tricks from Gary Kirsten, batting coach of Gujarat Titans.

Gujarat Titans will be led by Hardik Pandya and this new team will like to make a big impact in the tournament for sure.

KL Rahul Reveals Why He Left Punjab Kings & Chose To Captain A New Franchise

The IPL 2022 is going to start from March 26 and this year there will be not 8 but 10 teams that will contest for the trophy. The two new teams are Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans which will be led by KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya, respectively.

While this will be a new experience for Hardik Pandya, Rahul is pretty experienced in leading the squad as he captained Punjab Kings in the last two seasons. Though KL Rahul was fantastic with bat, the performance of Punjab Kings was not satisfactory and many stated that the team’s poor performance was the real reason behind KL Rahul refusing to be retained by the Punjab franchise.

The 29 years old Indian cricketer was acquired by the Lucknow franchise for a huge amount of Rs. 17 crore and recently in an interview he revealed the reasons behind joining the new team. KL Rahul states that whatever little time that he has spent with the LSG unit till now has been pretty good as it was a completely new experience for him. He further said that it was the first time that he was sitting in a meeting and discussing about the auction, how to build a team, what their core unit should be, discussion about every player, etc. and he certainly enjoyed it all.

Rahul goes on to say that he is pretty happy to be a part of the new team and what made him move from the Punjab franchise was the fact that he was very excited about making a new team from the scratch. He adds that this experience will be great for him in terms of growing as a human being as well as a cricketer. While concluding, KL Rahul states that he is very happy and filled with enthusiasm for this new journey and to find out what is in store for them.

We wish all the best to the skipper of Lucknow Super Giants.
