When Tendulkar was asked about which sport he prefers to play – golf or racquetball, he said that he would prefer to play golf. In the rapid fire round when Sachin was asked to choose between a-hole-in-one or a double ton in cricket, the legendary cricketer responded with how about getting a double century and then a hole-in-one. When Sachin Tendulkar was asked to pick more of his type between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, he chose Messi.

The Indian music industry has suffered a huge setback recently as it lost two of its gems- Lata Mangeshkar (92 yrs old) and Bappi Lahiri (69 yrs old) within a span of less than two weeks. It won’t be wrong to say that it is difficult for many music lovers to even believe that they have lost the Nightingale of India and Disco King.

Other than his music, Bappi Da was famous for his love for gold as he was seen wearing a lot of gold jewelry and he was never seen without them and though many times people made fun of him also because of his jewelry, it did not affect him even a bit.

In an interview, Bappi Lahiri revealed the reason behind his obsession for gold, he stated that he was a huge fan and follower of Hollywood singer Elvis Presley and as he used to wear gold chains, Bappi Da said that he used to think he would also make a completely different image of himself if he became successful some day. He thanked the God for giving him a chance of doing it with gold.

The singer-music composer also stated that gold was lucky for him as when his mother made him wear a gold chain which had a locket with “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” engraved on it, she said that it would bring good luck for him and he got his first superhit movie “Zakhmi”. He added that with more hit movies came more gold chains as his family always gifted him gold. Bappi Lahiri said that after his mother, his wife Chitrani also gifted him gold chain with a locket of Lord Ganesha on his birthday in 1977 after he gave superhit songs “Aap Ki Khatir” and “Bambai se aaya mera dost”.

Once Bappi Lahiri appeared in the comedy talk show The Kapil Sharma Show in which he revealed that even Michael Jackson liked his Lord Ganesha locket when the King of Pop visited Mumbai. As per Bappi Da, MJ came to him, called his locket fantastic and also asked Bappi Da’s name. When the Indian composer told MJ his name, he asked whether he was a musician. In response, Bappi Da gave a positive reply and said that he had done Disco Dancer and then Michael Jackson said that he liked the Jimmy Jimmy song.

The Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was associated with the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore for a long time but this association finally came to an end in the mega-auction for the IPL 2022 as neither Yuzi was retained by RCB nor the Bangalore franchise tried to buy him back in the mega-auction. Well, RCB fans were quite hopeful that the team will buy back Yuzvendra Chahal in the auction but it didn’t happen and the Indian spinner was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a price of Rs. 6.50 crore. Three other franchises Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad also bid for Yuzvendra Chahal but it was RR which ultimately got the spinner.

However, RCB not bidding for him was not a big deal for Chahal as he stated during a conversation with Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin on the latter’s YouTube channel that he (Chahal) would be fine playing for any other team as well. After Chahal made this statement, many cricketing experts and fans felt that something is not good between Yuzi and the RCB management.

Recently, one more incident has taken place which has strengthened the doubt that things are not good between the RCB management and Chahal. A meme is going viral on the Internet in which RCB fans are seen punching the RCB management for paying a heavy amount of Rs. 10.75 crore on Wanindu Hasaranga, the Sri Lankan cricketer.

The mega-auction for the IPL 2022 has indeed got over but many cricket lovers are still discussing about it, especially about Suresh Raina aka Mr. IPL who went unsold in the auction. What has baffled many cricket fans is the fact that CSK didn’t even bid for the cricketer who had been associated with it for the last 12 years and had played an instrumental role in 3 out of 4 title wins of the team. The CSK fans call Suresh Raina ‘Chinna Thala’ and the bonding of Raina with CSK skipper MS Dhoni, both on-field and off-field, was also loved by them.

Many fans were disappointed and disheartened after CSK snubbed Suresh Raina and some are even slamming the skipper MS Dhoni for not bidding for the left-handed batsman. A number of former cricketers have also expressed surprise over the fact that Suresh Raina was not bought by any franchise and former cricketer Vinod Kambli is also one of them.

Recently Kambli took to the Indian micro-blogging site Koo and shared his opinion. He stated that not only Suresh Raina will be missed in the IPL but the camaraderie between him and Dhoni will also be missed. Kambli laid emphasis on the fact that great friendships should remain intact.

This is what Vinod Kambli wrote, “Suresh Raina #chinnathala who played for Chennai and has been a prolific scorer goes unsold at IPL. We will miss him at the league and he deserves to get a good farewell. IPL will surely miss the camaraderie between Dhoni and Raina. However, the CEO of CSK Kasi Viswanath tried to justify their stand of not bidding for Suresh Raina. He stated that it was difficult for them to leave out Suresh Raina who was an integral part of the squad for last 12 years but one should understand that form is one of the basic considerations for team composition and because of this, they felt that Suresh Raina would not fit in the team.

There are many who are of the opinion that CSK not bidding for Suresh Raina was an obvious move because he was out of form in the IPL 2021 and he is also not playing in any other form of cricket since his retirement.

While Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar was a great singer of all the times, Bappi Lahiri was a very famous singer-composer whose song “Disco Dancer” is still loved by people. During an old interview, Bappi Lahiri expressed his gratitude towards Lata Mangeshkar and said that she always supported him which helped him in establishing himself in the industry.

Bappi Lahiri talked about his childhood and said that when he was just four yrs old, Lata Manageshkar once visited his father’s house in the Eden Garden locality of Kolkata and blessed him when he was a kid. In fact, there is also a photo in which he (Bappi) can been seen sitting in her lap. Bappi Lahiri’s father Aparesh Lahiri was one of the most popular composers of the Bengali industry and Lata Mangeshkar had sung many Bangla songs for his father. Bappi Da continued by saying that Lata sang his first composition which was for the Bengali movie “Daadu” and he humbly accepted that if she had not sung for him, he wouldn’t have been able to survive the competition.

Bappi Lahiri further stated that his first Bollywood hit song was from “Zakhmee” (1975) which was directed by Raja Thakur and produced by Tahir Hussain. In this movie, Lata Mangeshkar sang “Abhi abhi thi dushmani” and “Aao tujhe chand pe le jaaon” and both of them were big hits of that time.

Bappi Lahiri had many health issues, he breathed his last in a hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, on Tuesday night and his last rites were performed today.

Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural edition of the 2008 IPL under the leadership of former Aussie cricketer Shane Warne but after that, it has not been able to repeat its success story. Though in the IPL 2021, RR started well yet midway, it lost the track and was not even able to enter the playoffs.

The Indian skipper was speaking about the ground conditions when suddenly out of nowhere a voice came shouting, “Third World War Ka Countdown On” (The countdown for the third World War is on). Rohit Sharma got confused for a moment but then he continued after smiling a little and he also asked the journalists to try to decrease the noise from outside.
