“Foreigners Have Played Till 40, Raina Is 35,” Irfan Pathan Puzzled On Suresh Raina Being Unsold

The mega-auction for the IPL 2022 has got over a couple of days ago but it is still one of the most discussed topics among cricket lovers, while some are talking about the huge amount spent on buying the young cricketers, there are many who are not able to believe that big names like Suresh Raina, Shakib-al-Hasan, Steve Smith, etc. went unsold.

The former Indian cricketers such as Sunil Gavaskar and Irfan Pathan were also left confused as to why Suresh Raina was not bought by any franchise. Raina who was also known as Mr. IPL is one of the most prolific cricketers of the IPL as he was the fourth highest run-getter after Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. Suresh Raina was associated with Chennai Super Kings for the last 12 years and he played an important role in 3 IPL wins of CSK, so many cricket fans were expecting that the Chennai franchise will definitely buy him back, especially when they bought back some of their former players such as Robin Uthappa, Dwayne Bravo, Ambati Rayudu, etc.

Though Suresh Raina didn’t have a fruitful IPL season in 2021, we just can’t deny the fact that Raina could have been an asset for the team considering the fact that he is a useful spinner and a good fielder along with being a destructive batsman.

The former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan took to the micro-blogging site Twitter for expressing his bewilderment as he tweeted, “Still think Raina could have been pushed. We have seen some foreign players who have played IPL till 40.Raina is 35! One bad season. #MrIPL”

Many cricket fans and CSK fans are slamming the Chennai franchise and the skipper MS Dhoni for not buying back Suresh Raina who was their highest run getter and played an important role in making the franchise the second most successful IPL team with four title wins. However through its official Twitter handle, CSK paid a tribute to Suresh Raina who is famous as Chinna Thala among CSK fans and thanked him for the beautiful yellove memories.

Twitterati is also divided in regard to CSK not buying back Suresh Raina as some online users state that in the last season, Raina was completely out of form and he has not played any other form of cricket for a long time now. In response to this, fans of Suresh Raina say that even Dhoni has not played any other form of cricket after his retirement.

What is your take in this regard? Do let us know.

Bipasha Basu Reveals How She Convinced Her Parents For Karan After His Failed Marriages

Bipasha Basu, the Bong beauty, may have been away from movies for a long time now but her fans still hope to see more of her and want her to make a comeback. However, she is quite active on the social media platforms and tries to be in touch with her fans and followers.

The last film in which Bipasha Basu was seen was 2015 released “Alone” in which she worked with actor Karan Singh Grover. Bipasha and Karan started dating each other and in 2016, they got married and since then, they are enjoying their lives together.

However, it was not easy for Bipasha Basu to convince her family members for her marriage with Karan Singh Grover and she made this revelation recently in an interview. The reason behind it obviously were broken marriages of Karan and if you are not aware, let us tell you that Karan’s marriage with Bipasha is his third marriage. Karan Singh Grover tied the knot with actress Shraddha Nigam in 2008 but they got divorced just after 10 months of their wedding and then he got hitched with actress Jennifer Winget but this marriage also didn’t last long as the couple parted ways in 2014.

Bipasha Basu stated that her family members were against her marriage with Karan Singh Grover and she had to make a lot of efforts in order to convince them. As per her, she told her parents that just because his marriages got failed, it doesn’t mean that he is a bad guy. She said that she also talked about her own failed relationship which was pretty longer and bigger than Karan’s marriages and it was just that she hadn’t signed a piece of paper so what the difference between her and Karan was.

Bipasha Basu further says that though it is unfortunate that relationships do not work out and heart breaks whenever they end on a sour note but in the long run if you look back, you will always be happy that those things happened in your life. Bipasha Basu further adds that it is completely true there is a reason behind everything which happens in your life.

From Raina To Steve Smith, Here Are All The Big Players Who Went Unsold In IPL2022 Auction

The mega-auction for the IPL 2022 has got over and it won’t be wrong to say that those two days were full of excitement not just for the cricketers but also for cricket lovers as they wanted to know which franchise would buy their favourite players. There were 590 players who were available for auction out of which 204 (including 67 foreign players) were bought by the 10 franchises which spent a total of Rs. 551 crore approximately.

The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has become the most expensive cricketer of the IPL 2022 as Mumbai Indians spent a huge amount of Rs. 15.25 crore for buying him and with this, he has become the second most expensive player after Yuvraj Singh who got sold for Rs. 16 crore in the year 2015. Chennai Super Kings also went all guns blazing out for Deepak Chahar who was purchased for Rs.14 crore and this was the first time in the history of the IPL that both CSK and MI spent more than Rs. 10 crore on any player in the auction. Interestingly, Ishan Kishan and Deepak Chahar were part of MI and CSK, respectively before going in the auction and the franchises wanted them back even if they had to spend a whopping amount for that.

England cricketer Liam Livingstone who is known for his hard-hitting batting style became the most expensive overseas player of this auction as he was purchased for Rs. 11.50 crore by Punjab Kings. The former skipper of Delhi Capitals, Shreyas Iyer was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a price of Rs. 12.25 crore and Delhi Capitals also spent a huge amount of Rs. 10.75 crore for buying Shardul Thakur.

Avesh Khan became the most expensive uncapped player as the new IPL team Lucknow Super Giants paid Rs. 10 crore for purchasing him; the other two uncapped players who fetched big amount are Shahrukh Khan (Rs. 9 crore by Punjab Kings) and Rahul Tewatia (Rs. 9 crore by Gujarat Titans).

However some big names also went unsold; for instance, the former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina was also not able to find a buyer for himself. Raina who is also known as Mr. IPL and is the fourth highest run getter of the league has played all the IPLs till now excluding the IPL 2020 from which opted out due to personal reasons. He was a part of Chennai Super Kings for a long time and many CSK fans must be disappointed as they won’t be able to see Chinna Thala in the IPL 2022.

There were some other big players who went unsold and here is the list:

1. Steve Smith (Base price Rs. 2 crore)

2. Suresh Raina (Base price Rs. 2 crore)

3. Adam Zampa (Base price Rs. 2 crore)

4. Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Base price Rs. 2 crore)

5. Imran Tahir (Base price Rs. 2 crore)

CSK Pays A Heartfelt Tribute To ‘Chinna Thala’ Suresh Raina After He Goes Unsold In IPL Auction

The mega-auction for the IPL 2022 took place on Feb 12 and 13 in Bengaluru and the 10 IPL franchises left no stone unturned in buying the players of their choice. This year’s IPL will be bigger than ever but many cricket fans are a little sad because they are already missing their favourite cricketers who won’t be a part of the tournament. While the former South African cricketer AB de Villiers who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore decided to take retirement from all forms of cricket, the West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle who is also known as Universe Boss kept himself out of the auction. Nevertheless, there is one Indian cricketer who will be missed a lot, especially by the fans of MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings.

We are talking about Suresh Raina, the Indian cricketer who played in all the IPLs excluding the IPL 2020 in which he made himself unavailable for personal reasons. The 35 years old former cricketer who is also known as Mr. IPL went unsold in the mega-auction for the IPL 2022. He has scored 5528 runs in his IPL career and has been a part of CSK whenever the Chennai franchise won the IPL title. Till now, CSK has won the IPL four times and it is the second most successful team of the tournament after Mumbai Indians which has won the league five times.

Suresh Raina is the fourth highest run-getter in the IPL after Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawana and Rohit Sharma but for Men in Yellow, he is the highest run getter and how emphatic he has been can be understood by the fact that he has scored more than 400 runs in 9 out of 14 IPLs that he has played.

The CSK supporters call Suresh Raina as Chinna Thala and the official Twitter handle of CSK took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to pay an emotional tribute to him. CSK thanked him for the all the memories and wrote, “Super Thanks for all the Yellove memories, Chinna Thala! #SuperkingForever”

The IPL won’t be the same again without Suresh Raina. We will miss you Chinna Thala!

“U-19 Boys Become Crorepatis In Seconds, Easy Money Has Spoilt Many Talents,” Says Gavaskar

The mega-action for the IPL 2022 is over now and it won’t be wrong to say that the franchises have showed no hesitation in showering money on the cricketers whom they wanted in their teams; for example, Mumbai Indians spent whopping Rs. 15.25 crore for buying Ishan Kishan.

Youngsters earning a huge amount of money is certainly a matter of concern as it may result in them losing focus from the game and the former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar is also of the same opinion. Just 2 days before the mega-auction, Gavaskar wrote a column for a leading daily in which he wrote that the mega-auction will be taking place during the weekend and some of the Under-19 players will become crorepati with just a blink of eye. Little Master further added that good performances at the Under-19 level give no guarantee of success in the IPL or the international level because the standards are pretty high in other tournaments in comparison to Under-19.

He further writes that many have got carried away and lost their focus, adding that easy money has spoiled a number of talented young cricketers. The former Indian cricketer suggests that the Board of Control for Cricket in India should place a limit (such as Rs. 1 crore) on the price on the uncapped cricketers so that they know that for achieving more, they have to work harder. However, the Indian cricketers Umran Malik and Abdul Samad have already been retained for Rs. 4 crore by the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Out of 590 players who were a part of the auction, there were 355 who were uncapped and it’s quite obvious that only few of them would have got sold because the franchises spend their money merely on those cricketers who have performed well for a long time and not just in a couple of matches. Nowadays, the franchises also take services of former cricketers and cricketing experts in order to make decisions regarding which players to buy for making a strong team.

There is no denying the fact that the youngsters of today are really focused but what Sunil Gavaskar has said is also true and we have lost some gems just because they got many things too early in their lives. What is your opinion in this regard?

Shashi Tharoor Strangely Makes 2 Mistakes In His Tweet, Minister Corrects Him

Shashi Tharoor, the Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is undoubtedly one of the most educated politicians of the present times. Moreover, his proficiency in English Language has made him the sweet heart of the Indian Twitterati as because of him, many social media users have enhanced their English vocabulary.

It may sound very difficult to believe but Shashi Tharoor also makes mistakes while writing in English and when he made errors recently, he was schooled by a minister of the ruling party. Well, the errors that were made by Shashi Tharoor were typos but still it was something which his followers were not able to digest.

Couple of days back, Shashi Tharoor made a tweet regarding the Union Budget 2022-23 which was presented by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1, 2022. In his tweet, Shashi Tharoor posted an image and also tagged Ramdas Athawale because as per Tharoor, Athawale was giving stunned and incredulous expressions after hearing the claims made by Nirmala Sitharaman related to economy and her budget.

Shashi Tharoor’s tweet read, “Nearly two-hour rely to the Bydget debate. The stunned & incredulous expression on Minister @RamdasAthawale’s face says it all: even the Treasury benches can’t believe FinMin @nsitharaman’s claims about the economy & her Budget!”

The two mistakes that Shashi Tharoor made in his tweet were – reply (rely) and budget (Bydget).

Ramdas Athawale corrected Tharoor as he tweeted, “Dear Shashi Tharoor ji, they say one is bound to make mistakes while making unnecessary claims and statements. It’s not “Bydget” but BUDGET. Also, not rely but “reply”! Well, we understand!”

Shashi Tharoor was also quick to respond and he wrote, “I stand corrected, Ramdas ji. Careless typing is a bigger sin than bad English! But while you’re on a roll, there’s someone at JNU who could benefit from your tuition…..”

After correcting Shashi Tharoor on Twitter, Ramdas Athawale also made a funny statement during a press conference in Nagpur as he said, “Jinki English maine dekhi Twitter pe, unka naam hain Shashi. Aur unka bayaan dekh kar, mujhe aati hai hansee”. (The person whose English I saw on Twitter is Shashi and his statement makes me laugh).

What made it funnier was the serious expressions that Ramdas Athawale had on his face while speaking.
