Chetan Sharma Breaks Silence On Virat-Dada Saga, Says Kohli Was Asked To Remain T20I Skipper

The controversy related to Virat Kohli’s sacking from the post of the ODI captain will certainly continue as the chief selector of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Chetan Sharma has also spoken his side of the story and there are pretty good chances that reactions will come from the other side as well.

Earlier in an interview, the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly stated that he personally requested Virat Kohli to continue as the T20 captain but he didn’t listen to him. However later on in a virtual press conference, Virat Kohli denied all this and said that he was never asked to continue as the T20 skipper. In fact on the contrary, his decision of quitting captaincy from the T20 team was called a progressive step and it was taken in a quite good manner, as said by Virat.

Sourav Ganguly refused to make a comment on this and stated that the BCCI would look into the matter as he was in no mood to add more fuel to the fire. However, now Chetan Sharma has supported Ganguly and said that all the selectors asked Virat Kohli to rethink about it and asked him to talk about it after the T20 World Cup. Chetan Sharma chose to speak on this matter in the press conference which was called to announce the ODI squad for the South Africa series.

He said that in the meeting when Virat Kohli announced his decision, everybody was in a state of shock because the T20 World Cup was just nearby and such an announcement at that crucial moment would not do anything good for the Indian cricket. Chetan Sharma said that everyone present in the meeting requested Virat Kohli to continue as the skipper as it would have a negative effect on team India’s chances of winning the T20 World Cup and asked him to talk on this issue after the tournament but he chose to remain firm on his decision.

Chetan Sharma also says that there is no communication gap between the board and the captain or the players, whether of international level or domestic level. Talking about informing Virat Kohli that he would not lead India in ODIs 90 minutes before the official announcement, Chetan Sharma said that it was done in order to ensure that they both (Virat and Rohit Sharma) got enough time for preparing themselves and gel well too. The former Indian cricketer adds that we just can’t tell anyone in the middle of the series that he is not the skipper now and some other player will lead the team as it will take away focus from cricket.

After Chetan Sharma has opened on this matter and sided with the BCCI President, many former cricketers are of the opinion that Virat Kohli will soon react and some more mud-sling will take place now.

Virat Kohli is presently in South Africa where he is leading the Indian team in the 3-match test series against South Africa and team India has already scripted history by winning the first test of the series which was played at Centurion.

Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra Reveals He Went To USA For Training Coz Of Shaadi Invites In India

A number of weddings and social events are taking place in the present times as the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic has improved in the country and once again we are able to attend such functions, meet our kith and kin, have some fun and savor taste buds with delicious food from our favourite eatery. The young Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra who made the country proud by winning the Gold medal in the Javelin throw event in the Tokyo Olympics 2020 is presently in USA for training as he felt that the good number of wedding invites that he got would hamper his training and would also reduce the chances of him performing well in the Diamond League.

During an interview while talking about the reason behind going to USA for training, the 23 years old athlete states that the wedding season is on full swing in the country and he has received many invites from the family and friends and above that, the weather in Patiala is quite cold as well.

Neeraj Chopra is presently at Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Centre in San Diego where he will get trained for 90 days. Talking about his daily routine over there, Neeraj says that his life is pretty simple as he takes his breakfast at 7:30am after which he goes to the training center and gets trained for more than 2 hours. After having lunch at the center, he returns to his apartment for taking rest and then at 4pm, he again goes for training and returns after having dinner. After coming back at the apartment, he calls his friends and family and takes rest. He accepts that he has to work quite hard over there but he is very happy that he has started training once again.

Neeraj Chopra also adds that over there, he is living the normal life of an athlete, his total focus is on his game and the weather over there is also perfect for training purposes.

Earlier in an interview to a leading daily, he said that there were no restrictions on his diet after he returned from the Olympics because of which he gained around 12-13 kg weight. However, now he is working on his fitness and endurance and lost 5-6 kg weight.

Despite the fact that earlier it seemed that things were getting normal, now cases of COVID-19 are once again on a rise and the situation is worsening because of Omicron, new variant of COVID-19. It is the need of the hour that we follow the COVID-19 safety protocols and guidelines in a proper manner to save ourselves and our family members.

Woman Found Out She Had COVID-19 Mid-Flight, What She Did Next Will Make You Praise Her

Such people should learn a lesson from Marisa Fotieo, a school teacher from the USA who was on a flight to Iceland for vacations when she came to know that she is COVID-19 positive. So instead of sitting on her seat, she chose to lock herself in the plane’s bathroom for five hours so that the lives of others were not at risk.

Marisa Fotieo was travelling from Chicago to Reykjavik, Iceland, before Christmas when she started feeling uneasy and sick so she tested herself using rapid test. In an interview, she stated that she took the rapid test and took it to bathroom with her, in just two seconds she saw two lines which indicated that she was tested positive. On the video sharing platform TikTok, she wrote in a funny manner, “Shout out to @Icelandair for my VIP quarantine quarters.”

She informed her followers by writing in the comments section that she tested negative PCR two times so she took the flight for Christmas but brought at home-tests for travel. She added that she felt sore throat so she tested and came out positive.

One person told her that she might have been tested false positive and in response, she said that she also thought about this possibility but on her layover, she was tested and her PCR came positive. She added that she didn’t reach her destination and presently she is quarantined in Iceland.

While talking to a news channel, Marisa Fotieo praised Icelandair attendant Ragnhildur “Rocky” Eiríksdóttir for taking good care of her for five hours and providing with foods and drinks to her. Not just this, the flight attendant also brought a Christmas tree along with flowers for Marisa as she was quarantined.
