The Indian cricket has been marred with controversies in the recent past and it all started with Rohit Sharma being appointed as the skipper of the Indian ODI team and the vice-captain of the Indian test squad. Though there were talks of rifts between Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli earlier as well, it got stronger after there were reports that Virat Kohli asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to let him take a break after the test series against South African because of which he would not be available for the 3-match ODI series which India will play on the South African tour. Rohit Sharma was already ruled out of the 3-match test series on this tour as he has suffered hamstring injury but reports about Virat’s break gave enough fodder to mediapersons and people from the cricket fraternity to talk about the tension in the Indian dressing room.

Things got so complicated that Virat Kohli had to come forward in order to clear the air and on 15th December just before the departure of team India to South Africa, he attended a virtual press conference. On being about the rift between him and Rohit Sharma, Virat says that he has been tired of saying it for more than 2.5 years that there is no problem between him and Hitman. He also makes it clear that whatever he does, he will never do anything which will be disadvantageous for the team.
Talking about the rumours as per which he will not play in the ODIs as he is taking break, Virat Kohli says that he has never asked the BCCI to give him break, adding that he was and he is always available for the selection as he is very much interested in playing in the ODIs. He tells the mediapersons to ask questions regarding this to those people or sources who have been writing about it and are not credible at all.
Virat Kohli also added that he was called by the selectors around one and a half hour prior to the selection of the test team for South Africa. He said that after they discussed about the test squad, just before ending the call, he was informed that the five selectors have taken the decision that he won’t be leading the team in the ODIs anymore. Virat Kohli cleared it that it was the first time he was informed about the decision of the ODI captaincy and there was no communication earlier in this regard.

Talking about his desire to lead the team in the ODIs even after leaving the T20Is captaincy, Virat Kohli stated that the decision of quitting the T20I captaincy was taken in a good manner by the BCCI and it was called a progressive step. As per him, he informed the board that he would like to lead the team in the remaining two formats – ODIs and tests but he also made it clear to the board that he is fine if they feel like appointing another person as the skipper in his place.
India will play its first test match against South Africa from 26th December and the 3-match ODI series will start from January 19. Earlier India and South Africa were also slated to play 4 T20Is but now they have been rescheduled for next year.
Hopefully, all the rumours and controversies will get quashed now.

The social media platforms have become quite an important part of our lives and it has also enabled the celebs in having an interaction with their fans and followers. However, some negative points are also associated in regard to social media and there have been times when the celebrities have to bear a lot despite having no fault of theirs.

Recently, the former South African cricketer Dale Steyn became the target of trollers when he made a little delay in wishing Nathan Lyon on his achievement of taking 400 wickets in the test cricket. The Aussie spinner Nathan Lyon has become the fourth Australian bowler to achieve this feat and he has reached the 400 mark after taking the wicket of England cricketer Dawid Malan on the fourth day of the first test match of the Ashes series 2021-22.
While the whole cricket fraternity and cricket lovers made no delay in congratulating the Aussie spinner, Dale Steyn got a little late in congratulating him. Dale Steyn took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “Take a bow Nathan Lyon 400 strong! Keep going bud! Congratulations”.
Soon, many Twitter users started commenting about the delay that he made in wishing Nathan Lyon and in response, Dale Steyn revealed that he was late because his grandfather departed from the world and he was with his family in these tough times. His tweet read, “Yes I apologize as my grandfather passed away and I was with him and my family during that time.”
While majority of online users expressed their condolences, there were still few who commented that he should have wished Nathan Lyon earlier and in response, Dale Steyn made a sarcastic tweet and took a dig at such online users. The former South African pacer apologizes for being late and says that from the next time, he will ensure that cricket comes first and his family after it.

This is what Dale Steyn tweeted, “Some silly banter going around as I’m a little late in congratulating Nathan for his 400th poll. My apologies, I’ll be sure to put my family tragedies aside next time as cricket is clearly more important.”
We feel that at least in such tough times, netizens should leave the celebs alone.

This movie has managed to create a buzz which led to our Indian artists featuring in US charts and in the post-covid world, defined a hit far bigger than the one seen in a pre-covid world. Do we need any more description for you to guess the movie?

Shershaah, starring Bollywood’s sizzling chemistry between Sidharth Malhotra & Kiara Advani released on 12th August 2021 and got showered with love from Bollywood fans and praise from movie critiques. The movie paid an ode to India’s hero, Captain Vikram Batra who fought in the Kargil war and laid his life for the country. Needless to say, Sidharth Malhotra’s acting, the direction and the cinematography did justice & left no stone unturned in delivering a movie that could match the heroism shown by the Captain.
The songs Ranjha & Raataan Lambiyan from the movie also featured on the Billboard Global Excl US Charts of which Raataan Lambiyan stayed on for a longer duration on the list.
The music has been reigning over hearts and continues to be a hit in everyone’s recently-played playlist. The songs also opened up the world as a stage for the singers which has definitely proved to be momentous.

There are no short-cuts to be successful and if you want to make your dreams come true, determination and hard work are the two most important factors to be taken into consideration. It’s rightly said that where there’s a will, there’s a way and Rohit Negi is the perfect example of the same.

Rohit Negi is basically from Kotdwar, a small town in Uttarakhand, and he hails from a poor family of farmers. It was not easy for him to pursue his education but he overcame all the odds and presently he is a student of M.Tech second year in IIT-Guwahati.
He is all over the news presently because he has been offered a huge package of Rs. 2.05 crore (CTC) by the multinational firm Uber. Rohit Negi will be joining Uber as a software engineer after completing his studies and his basic salary is said to be Rs. 96 lakhs.

It won’t be wrong to say that Rohit and his parents sacrificed a lot to see this big day. After getting the offer, Rohit states that he comes from a lower middle-class family and the monthly expenses of his family are even less than 10K. He tells that his father is a farmer, mother is a homemaker and his sister works as a nurse and his family is very happy with the offer that he has got from Uber.
Though, Rohit Negi didn’t get good grades in his graduation which he did from a private engineering college in Uttarakhand, he worked hard and managed to get good rank in GATE because of which he got admission in IIT-Guwahati.

This is the first time that anyone in Kotdwar has received such a high package and the entire village of Ramdayalpur, Kotdwar, is celebrating the achievement of Rohit Negi.
Congratulations Rohit! We wish you a lot more success!

Andrew Flintoff, the former England cricketer who now works as an English Television and Radio presenter is certainly one of the best all-rounders that we have seen on the cricket field. The 44 years old former cricketer who is considered as a legend in the English cricketing circuits made his international debut in 1998. He represented his country till the year 2010 and during this period, he gave many match-winning performances.

Andrew Flintoff played 79 test matches, 141 ODIs and & 7 T20Is in which he scored 3845, 3394 and 76 runs, respectively. In his international career, Andrew Flintoff scored 8 centuries (5 in test matches and 3 in ODIs) and 44 half-centuries (26 in test matches and 18 in ODIs). As far as his bowling stats are concerned, he took 226 wickets in test matches, 169 wickets in ODIs and 5 in T20Is.
However, Andrew Flintoff’s association with the Indian Premier League has been pretty short as he played only three matches for Chennai Super Kings in his IPL career in which he scored a total of 62 runs and took 2 wickets.
Recently, Andrew Flintoff faced an embarrassing situation when he met a young cricket fan from UK who wasn’t even aware of the fact that Andrew Flintoff is a former international cricketer. The cricket fan asks Flintoff whether he follows cricket and which team he supports in the IPL.

In response, Andrew Flintoff states that he supports CSK and also discloses it to the youngster that he has even played for the Chennai franchise in the year 2008. After this, the young fan gave a surprised look and said that in 2008, he didn’t follow cricket as he was a kid at that time.

Rajinikanth is primarily known for his work in the Tamil cinema but he has also worked in some Hindi movies and enjoys a huge fan following all across the globe.

Young Indian cricketer Venkatesh Iyer is also a big fan of the superstar Rajinikanth; in fact earlier in an interview, the cricketer has stated that he is a devotee of Thalaivar and he never misses his movies. His love for Rajini sir can be understood by the statement when he said that he can watch the films of the legend “n” number of times.

Venkatesh Iyer who plays for Madhya Pradesh in the domestic cricket and for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL paid tribute to Rajinikanth on his 71st birthday by copying the signature salute of the superstar after completing his century in match which was played between Madhya Pradesh and Chandigarh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy yesterday. Venkatesh Iyer also imitated the manner in which Rajinikanth wears his glasses in the movies.

Here is the video of the incident which was shared by the official Twitter handle of KKR:

As far as the match is concerned, Madhya Pradesh won it by 5 runs. Batting first, MP posted a good total of 331/9 on the score board in its 50 overs with the help of Iyer’s sensational innings of 151 for which he played only 113 balls. In response, Chandigarh managed to score 326/8 in its stipulated 50 overs and lost the match despite the fact that its two batsmen – Manan Vohra and Ankit Kaushik scored centuries.
In the IPL 2021, Venkatesh Iyer scored 370 runs at an average of around 40 and played an important role in taking his team to the finals which it lost to MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings. Venkatesh Iyer has made his debut for the national team as well and there is no denying the fact that he will be an important part of the Indian squad in limited overs cricket.
Rajinikanth’s last release was “Annathee” which got released on 4th Nov 2021, though the movie received negative reviews, it still went on to become a hit on the box-office.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has implemented the concept of split captaincy in the Indian cricket as it has decided to hand over the responsibility of captaincy of limited overs cricket to Rohit Sharma. Earlier Virat Kohli gave up the captaincy of India’s T20I team citing the workload pressure but he made it clear that he would like to lead the ODI and test teams.

However, the BCCI and Virat Kohli were not on the same platform as the board wanted to appoint one skipper for the limited overs cricket because of which Kohli was asked to voluntarily quit the ODI captaincy which he refused. As per reports, there was a fall-out between Virat Kohli and the BCCI and the board had to sack the former ODI skipper who will still lead India in the test cricket. It is being said that Virat Kohli was also not happy with the decision of the board to appoint Rohit Sharma as the new vice-captain of the Indian test team in place of Ajinkya Rahane.

Recently, Rohit Sharma gave an interview which you can watch on the website of the BCCI in which Hitman called all the rumours regarding fall-out and tension as baseless. In the video that has been shared by the board on the micro-blogging site Twitter, Rohit Sharma is seen saying that when a player plays for India, the pressure will always be there and it will be high as well. He adds that many people will talk about it, while some will say positive things, several others will choose to spread negativity.
Hitman further says that as a cricketer, focusing on his job is far more important rather than to focus on what people are saying because it is not something which is in his control. He also states that he has spoken a million times earlier and he will keep on repeating it so that the team understands it clearly that whenever they will play a big tournament, there will be many things which will be said about them.

The skipper of the IPL team Mumbai Indians also adds that he will try his best to provide a good environment to the players in the dressing room and it is important to lay all the focus on going out and win matches in the manner which is known best to them and no importance should be given to the outside talks. Rohit Sharma also states that he wants the players to share good bond with each other as it will help them in performing well on the field too.
In his first assignment as the full-time skipper, Rohit Sharma performed brilliantly as the team won the three-match T20I series against New Zealand by 3-0.
Hopefully, Rohit Sharma and the Indian team will also repeat their performance on the South African tour which will start on December 26.
