While the Indian test team skipper Virat Kohli enquired from David Warner if he is okay, the former Aussie cricketer Mitchell Johnson requested Warner to please stop.

Here are the comments:

As far as the first test match between Australia and England which was played at Gabba is concerned, the visitors won the toss and batted first but managed only 147 runs in their first innings which was quite less for the Aussies as they put up a score of 425 on the board with the help of Travis Head’s century (154) and half centuries scored by David Warner (94) and Marcus Labuschagne (74). In their second innings, England disappointed once again as they scored only 297 runs giving a meager target of 20 runs to the Aussies to win the match. The Australians won the match by 9 wickets as they lost one wicket while achieving the target and the first test match ended on the 4th day of the game. The second test match of the 5-match series will start from December 16 and it will be played at Adelaide, Oval.

Barmy Army Roasts Josh Hazlewood For 2018 Sandpapergate Scandal During Ashes 2021-22

The Australian cricket team has taken a lead of 1-0 in the ongoing Ashes 2021-22 after defeating the England cricket team by 9 wickets in the first test match that was played at Gabba. However, the Barmy Army didn’t miss the chance of making fun of the Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood by bringing back the ghost of sandpapergate scandal out of the box.

Till now, the cricketers were not allowed to engage in any interaction with the spectators due to the COVID-19 pandemic but now the situation has improved considerably because of which the cricketers are allowed to give autographs to fans. On the fourth day of the test match, Josh Hazlewood was signing autographs for fans and one Barmy Army member took his autograph on a paper on which there was hidden text at the bottom which read, “I Joshua ‘Joshie’ Hazlewood do solemnly swear that I knew it was sandpaper.”

Obviously, the Aussie cricketer was unaware of it and it came into limelight when the Barmy Army posted it on their official Twitter handle with the caption, “Josh Hazlewood just signed this on the boundary, we knew it” with the laughing emoji.

The tweet referred to the infamous sandpapergate scandal which took place in 2018 when Australia was on the tour to South Africa. During a test match, the Aussie cricketers were found using sandpaper for the purpose of changing the shape of the ball in order to help their bowlers. Three Australian cricketers Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft were found guilty and while Smith and Warner were banned for 1 year, Bancroft was banned for nine months.

While the Aussie bowlers who were a part of the team at that time refused to have any information about it, Cameron Bancroft in an interview claimed that the Aussie bowlers were aware of it as it was done for their benefit.

Josh Hazlewood was also a part of the team at that time and he also refused to have any information about the use of any external material by his teammates.

Though the Australians have won the first test match, this tweet has left a bitter taste in their mouth. Do you think that the Aussie bowlers had full knowledge of what was happening in the 2018 test match or not? Let us know your views.

“Virat’s Phone Is Switched Off”, Kohli’s Childhood Coach Slams BCCI For ‘No Transparency’

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took some big decisions in the recent past as it appointed Rohit Sharma as the new skipper of the Indian ODI team after making him the skipper of the T20 squad. Rohit who is also lovingly called Hitman by his fans replaced Ajinkya Rahane as the vice-captain of the Indian test team too.

While many cricket lovers supported the decision of making Rohit Sharma the new skipper of the Indian ODI team as it is quite logical to have a distinction between white ball cricket and red ball cricket, there were a number of fans and supporters of Virat Kohli who were not happy with this decision.

There is no denying the fact that Virat Kohli is the most successful ODI Indian skipper as the winning percentage under his leadership is around 70 percent but it is also true that he has never been able to make his team win any ICC trophy. If you remember, Virat announced his decision of quitting the T20 captaincy after the ICC T20 World Cup even before the start of the tournament. In the statement which he posted on his social media handles, he stated that he wanted to leave the T20 captaincy because of the increasing workload and he wished to focus more on ODIs and test cricket.

However when the BCCI announced change in captaincy, it surprised many including Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma. While speaking in an interview, Rajkumar Sharma says that he hasn’t spoken to Virat Kohli as his phone is switched off due to some reason. He added that in his opinion, Virat Kohli specifically left the T20 team’s captaincy and made it clear that he wanted to lead the ODI and test teams. As per him, the selectors should have asked Virat Kohli either to leave the captaincy of T20I and ODI both or remain the skipper of the T20I team as well.

Sharma also expressed surprise over the statement made by Sourav Ganguly as per which the selectors asked Virat Kohli not to leave the captaincy of the T20I squad but he didn’t agree to it. Sharma says that different statements are circulating in media and he also adds that no reason has been given by the selection committee or the BCCI behind this decision because of which it appears that there is no transparency in the system.

Earlier, there were reports that the BCCI asked Virat Kohli to voluntarily give up the ODI captaincy as it wished only one skipper to lead ODI and T20 teams. However even after waiting for 48 hrs when Virat Kohli refused to give up the captaincy, the BCCI was left with no choice other than sacking him.

What is your opinion in regard to the whole episode? Let us know.

Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal have entered a new phase of life as the couple has tied the knot on December 9 and now they are officially husband and wife. The couple always chose to remain mum about their relationship status and their marriage was also quite a hush-hush affair as high level secrecy was maintained about it.

As per the reports, the guests who were invited at the wedding ceremony which took place at Six Senses Fort, Barwara, Rajasthan, were given unique codes and they were even made to sign non-disclosure agreements. Not just this, their phones were also confiscated during the ceremony so that the pics and videos didn’t get leaked. It is being said that online streaming platform Amazon Prime Video has paid a whopping amount of Rs. 80 crore for acquiring the telecast rights of the wedding of Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal.

Nowadays, many organizations and departments are using social media networks in order to create awareness among public as it increases their reach to a great extent. In wake of rising cases of online frauds, Delhi Police also advised common public to keep their passwords secure but they made their tweet a little interesting by giving a reference of Vicky and Katrina’s wedding.

Here is what Delhi Police tweeted, “Hello people, Keep your passwords as secure as #VicKat wedding.”

Recently, the former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli also became the target of an online fraud and an amount of Rs. 1.14 lakhs approx. was transferred to an unknown bank account from the former Indian cricketer’s account.

We not only need to keep our passwords secure but we should also keep changing our passwords on a regular basis. Though banks, police and other institutions are trying their level best to educate people about the online frauds, still the cases of online frauds are taking place at a very high rate.

Be alert and careful and don’t let anyone make a fool of you.

Abhay Deol Revealed Why He Never Asked For Help From Cousins Sunny & Bobby During Low Phase

Bollywood has given us many good actors, while some entertain us with their performances in the commercial masala movies, there are several others who like to go for the route less taken as they prefer unconventional roles. One such actor who has played many unconventional characters in movies is Abhay Deol, cousin of Bollywood actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

Abhay Deol made his debut with Imtiaz Ali’s “Socha Na Tha” which got released in 2005 and starred Ayesha Takia in the female lead; the movie was liked by audiences as well as critics. After doing a couple of commercial movies, Abhay shifted his inclination more towards parallel cinema and worked in movies such as “Manorama Six Feet Under”, “Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!”, “Dev D”, etc. and in the present times, he is known as an actor who knows how to play complex characters.

Well like almost every other celebrity, Abhay Deol has also faced ups and downs in his career but he never reached out to anyone, not even to his cousins Sunny and Bobby Deol because he preferred to handle things on his own and he is of the opinion that reaching out to someone is a sign of being weak.

Recently in an interview, Abhay Deol states that he doesn’t think in the same manner now but highs and lows don’t have much effect on him because he has faced such a situation in life for quite a long time. He adds that earlier he has been on his own whether he is going through a high phase or low phase but now he doesn’t want to be on his own anymore.

The “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” actor stated that he is very lucky to have met some really wonderful people during his journey and he is a part of a community in which some are from the family while some are friends who are equivalent to family members.

The 45 years old actor is actively engaged in social work and his recent release “Velle” is getting mixed reactions. Directed by Deven Munjal, “Velle” is the remake of a Telugu movie “Brochevarevarura” and also stars Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol and actress Mouni Roy.

MSK Prasad Backs Ajinkya Rahane’s Selection For SA Tour Despite Poor Form For This Reason

The Indian cricket has undergone few changes in the recent past as Rohit Sharma not only replaced Virat Kohli as the skipper of the Indian ODI team but he also replaced Ajinkya Rahane as the vice-captain of the Indian test squad. Ajinkya Rahane has been going through a rough patch for quite a long time now but still the selectors have included him in the list of 18-men squad test team for the South Africa tour which is starting on December 26 and team India will be playing 3 ODIs and the same number of test matches over there.

The former chief selector MSK Prasad has also supported Rahane’s inclusion in the Indian squad for the South African tour by saying that Ajinkya Rahane performs better in the overseas conditions. During an interview, MSK Prasad says that the experienced players can play an important role in foreign tours and Rahane especially performs well overseas as he did in 2013 but his poor form in the present times must be confusing the selectors whether to give him more chances or induct young players.

MSK Prasad also has a piece of advice for the selectors that while selecting the team, they can take into consideration the fact that which player performs well in foreign conditions and which cricketer performs well in home conditions.

MSK Prasad is absolutely correct about Ajinkya Rahane as the Indian batter has scored over 3000 runs in overseas matches and his average is around 40 while in home conditions, his average is around 35.

While talking about the team composition, MSK Prasad states that it has to be a mix of young and senior players and there is nothing wrong if the selectors have to bear with a healthy headache in selecting the players. He emphasizes on the need of having a system so that it becomes easy for the selectors to decide about the number of opportunities that should be given to the senior players if they are out of form, when they should give a chance to a young player, how many young players should be in the team, etc. While concluding, MSK Prasad says that these points should be taken care for maintaining a good balance in the team.

All the best to the Indian team for the South African tour!

Former Indian Cricketer Vinod Kambli Duped Of Rs 1.14 Lacs In Online Fraud

Online frauds have become pretty common nowadays despite the fact that the governments and the banks are trying their best in educating people about them. Many Bollywood and cricket celebs are also seen doing advertisements in which they try the simplest method to inform common public about the manner in which online frauds are carried out and how they should deal with such fraudsters.

Representational Image

However, still many people are getting cheated by online scammers and the recent victim of one such fraud is none other than the former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli. The incident came into limelight when Vinod Kambli filed a complaint with the Bandra Police Station on December 3.

Vinod Kambli stated that he got a call from a person who posed as a customer care executive of his bank and he asked Kambli to update his KYC (Know Your Customer) details otherwise his card would get deactivated. The customer care executive asked Vinod Kambli to download an app “AnyDesk” so that he can access Kambli’s phone. During the call, many banking transactions took place from Vinod Kambli’s account and he lost around Rs. 1.14 lacs. When Kambli realized that he had been cheated, he made no delay in contacting his chartered accountant and the bank authorities and registered an FIR.

The cyber unit of the Mumbai Police asked the bank officials to reverse the transactions and now they are analyzing the call details and bank account records in which the money was transferred in order to catch the fraudster.

Here is the tweet made by ANI in this regard:

It is highly surprising that even after so many campaigns have been carried out to save people from online frauds, we are witnessing cases in which educated and literate people are becoming targets of such tricksters. If you remember, earlier this year Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s daughter and Bollywood veteran actress Shabana Azmi also got duped by online scammers.

Be careful and never share your KYC, card details or OTP with anyone on phone.
