Kriti Sanon Reacts To Being Called “Female Aamir Khan” & It Proves She Has A Long Way To Go

Kriti Sanon is one of the most successful Bollywood actresses of the present times as she has given some back to back hits of late. Her last release was “Mimi” and people not just liked the movie but Kriti’s acting was also praised a lot by audiences as well as critics. For the flick, Kriti gained 15 kg weight as she needed to look like a pregnant woman and later on, she underwent weight loss regime to get back in shape for other roles.

Recently during an interview with a leading daily, Kriti Sanon was asked whether she can be called female Aamir Khan because he also did something similar for his movie “Dangal”. If you remember, Aamir Khan also increased his weight from 68 kg to 95 kg for the film and later on, he also shed kilos for playing other roles.

In response, Kriti asks the interviewer not to put so much pressure on her as it is almost impossible to even touch the standards which have been set by Aamir Khan.

She further says that when an actor works so passionately on a character and viewers not only appreciate the efforts but also like the work, it really gives immense satisfaction to the actor.

Few months ago, Kriti Sanon posted a workout video on her official Instagram handle in which she wrote that while gaining 15 kgs was a huge challenge for her, losing it is also not easy either for Chubby Sanon. She also revealed that she decided to shoot for “Param Sundari” track later in order to get motivated to lose weight quickly.

The “Luka Chuppi” actress also added that it was the first time that she gained so much weight and abstained from workout, even yoga, for almost 3 months. Kriti Sanon adds that her stamina, flexibility and strength have gone down to zero in the last 3 months and her joints are clicking constantly as she is trying to get some mobility.

Kriti is one of the most sought actresses of the Hindi film industry and she has some big projects lined up such as “Adipurush”, “Bachchan Pandey”, “Hum Do Hamare Do”, “Bhediya”, etc.

Well, Kriti deserves all the applauds for all the hard work and dedication that she has put in her work and we wish her luck for all her future endeavours!

Getting Married? Here’s The Top 5 Indian Weddines Ever (For Some Inspiration)

There are many things that we in India do well, fabulous even. We have great food (so great that a version of Indian food is Britains national dish), we have outstanding movies, extraordinarily talented scientists and business people and we have not even started talking about cricket…yet.

But, if there is one area that we remain head and shoulders above our global counterparts it is this: the Indian wedding.

Indian weddings have evolved from a place that was already big, brash and over the top – to Bollywood quality productions featuring flash mobs, choreographed dance routines and gorgeous locations in some of the countries most spectacular places. (Or abroad for that matter).

Now, remember, you so don’t have to spend millions to have the wedding of your dreams so don’t fret if you’re not in that league, or more importantly – if you have more sense than money.

We compiled this list to help you get inspired, not to emulate because every smart person knows that the best weddings are the weddings where the most important guest at the table – is love.

BEFORE WE START

From hiring palaces to chartering private planes to exotic foreign destinations, no one does superstar weddings, quite as we Indians do. This has led to a stratospheric rise in party and wedding planners vying for those lucrative contracts. Don’t be put off by snooty function coordinators that seem to want to belittle or “snob off” your plans or your budget, rather find a top wedding planner that works for you. We want you to have a day that you’ll always remember, as opposed to one that you’ll never forget – for all the wrong reasons.

After all, unless you are in that bracket where money flows like water, imagine what you could have done with all of the money spent on a day that is as fleeting as time itself.
But, with all of that being said – let’s get started. Here now, we present the top 5 weddings in India, as of December 2021.

LALIT TANWAR AND YOGITA JAUNAPURIA

The year was 2011 and while the United Kingdom was abuzz with a pending Royal wedding, India presented a wedding that was, at the time, the most expensive ever seen.

15 000 guests were waited on by 1000 staff, serving delicacies from across India and the globe. Bollywood star Neha Dupia performed live at the wedding and the groom was gifted a silver model of a private jet as a gift (because the real one had to be left at Delhi airport). Oh, and that was to complement that Bell helicopter he received as a gift as well.
The wedding was not without controversy, as it took place at a time where Indian businessmen were urged to show austerity during a very difficult period for the country. But hey, when money is no object, the sky is the limit.

Read more, here. The final bill? Around $19 Million.

VANISHA MITTAL AND AMIT BHATIA

It was in June of 2004 that Vanisha Mittal (daughter of the Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal) would marry Amit Bhatia in a week-long celebration. Over 1000 guests started the event with silver-casted invitations and the costs of their travels were covered as well. Jet rides whisked guests to a 5-star hotel that covered multiple parties, lavish dinners and star-studded events at the Palace of Versailles and Jardin des Tuileries.
Kylie Minogue was paid around $ 330 000 to perform for 30 minutes and guests were also treated to fireworks in the Eiffel tower gardens.

You too can start your life of wedded bliss in this manner, whip out that cheque book and write one for around $ 60 Million.

BRAHMANI AND RAJEEV REDDY

Cut to 2011 and the wedding of the year that made it into the record books, was the wedding of Brahmani and Rajeev Reddy. Brahmani the only daughter of Gali Janardhan Reddy a politician and mining Baron, married Rajiv Reddy, the son of the Hyderabad-based businessman, Vikram Deva Reddy.

Taking place in the Bengaluru Palace Grounds on November 16th, the venue was totally transformed to resemble the ruins of Hampi – the once great capital of the Vijaynagar Empire.
LCD screens played choreographed songs starring the family as guests entered the lavish venue, which also held a silver Ganesha idol. Around 50,000 guests that included politicians, celebrities and movies stars enjoyed fine dining on exquisite china, outlandish gifts and a bride adorned in over a million dollars worth of diamond jewellery.

Yours, for just $60 Million.

SUSHANTO ROY AND SEEMANTO ROY

In 2004, Subrato Roy the chairman of Sahara India Pariwar conducted the marriage of his sons Suhanto Roy and Seemanto Roy at the Sahar Auditorium based in Lucknow. The wedding welcomed 11 000 guests dining on 110 different kinds of cuisine. Guests were flown to the wedding in private planes and the guest list included Ashwariya Ria and several Bollywood big hitters.
What earns our respect though, is that 150 000 beggars were also served at this wedding.
Yours for a mere, $75 Million.

TIME FOR A QUICK BREAK
Just before we get the #1 wedding in Indian of all time, we want to take the opportunity to check in with you, intrepid reader, and remind you that while it may sound exciting to indulge in big wedding spending, come on – we all know that that kind of ostentatious display isn’t what the day is meant to be about.

Take a look at this wedding by a lawyer couple from Guwahati that took their wedding in an innovative direction, by “constitutionally theming” the wedding. Twitter went mad and within moments their wedding was trending on all feeds in India (and beyond).

Contracting a wedding planner can help you keep costs down and get you the best value for your money, while not skimping on style! Try to remember that your guests are there to celebrate you and your day – not be the celebration itself.
Silver-casted invitations are not necessary or required, check out these foil wedding invitations, and put the saved money towards a fabulous honeymoon or downpayment on a home instead. So, here it is. The #1 top and most expensive wedding in India:

ISHA AMBANI AND ANAND PIRAMAL

As the only daughter of India’s richest industrialist, Mukesh Ambani, Isha’s wedding was never going to be a quiet, demure affair.  She married Piramal Scion after a pre-wedding party in the city of lakes.

The engagement took place on the banks of Italy’s Lake Como and turns out that the party in Udaipur was just a teaser because the actual wedding happened at the Ambani’s 27-story home, affectionately known as Antilia. The reception was held at the Jio Gardens in Mumbai.

They spent a staggering $4000 on the wedding invitations (that’s each), and the wedding was attended by US First Lady Hillary Clinton and businessman Henry Travis.

Performances by Beyonce, Nick Jonas, and Priyanka Chopra helped add to the final account, and as a token of appreciation, the Ambanis also donated a staggering amount of food to the city of Udaipur, enough to feed 5,100 people for four days.
More than 100 flights were chartered specifically to get guests from various events to ornately designed pop-up musical invitations that paid tribute to the bride and groom’s grandparents.

Oh, and just for kicks – guests had to download a specially designed “app” to guide them to all the events and advise on seating etc.

Yours for just $100 Million.
So there you have it. The top five most expensive weddings in India. Now, here’s the trick to enjoying a superstar wedding at a fraction of the price:
Find the elements of these weddings that you like the most, then match those events with locally inspired flavour, venues, cuisine and fashion and you’re in it to win it. You’ll be amazed at how far your money can take you with some proper planning and saving.

You can also use your wedding to make a difference in your local community, as inspired by some of the illustrious entries above. Is there a better legacy to your nuptials than having changed the fate of your community, if only for a day – you have no idea what repercussions that might inspire in the future?
More and more young Indians are becoming increasingly conscious of the importance of playing a fierce role in their local communities and your wedding day could be the catalyst for that. It all starts with a plan.

Draw some inspiration from your friends and family who’ve had awesome weddings, keep the best parts and evolve the designs to suit your theme and image. Infuse your personality into everything from the invitations to the fashion, and don’t worry if you can’t afford Hrithik Roshan – your brother is every good a dancer as Hritik.

However you chose to celebrate your special day, we hope it’s going to be a day to remember and the start of your best-lived lives. Your greatest adventure starts here.

Man Goes To Welcome Mother With Flowers & ‘Miss You’ Placard, Gets Beaten With Slippers

The South Asian mothers have a different way of treating their kids in comparison to the mothers of Western countries. While the Western mothers avoid hitting their children, the south Asian mothers leave no chance of beating their kids, of course with affection, whether it is needed or not.

A video is going viral on the Internet in which a South Asian mother is expressing her love for her son by beating him with slippers. This video has been posted by Anwar Jibawi, a Palestinian-Pakistani Internet celebrity, on his Instagram account in which he is seen at the airport to receive his mother with flowers and a placard which reads, “We missed you”.

As the video starts, Anwar is seen walking towards the arrival gate of the airport with flowers and placard, the moment his mother exits from the airport, she takes out her slippers and starts beating Anwar badly and as he tries to save himself, the flowers and the placard get dropped on the floor.

Anwar posted the video with the caption, “My mom is back”.

The video has received more than 6.3 million likes and many Asians easily related with it as it is pretty common in this part of the world. Online users also laughed a lot and said that his mother would have got doubtful of him doing anything wrong because he went with flowers and ‘miss you’ placard.

Aanand L Rai Speaks Up On Casting Dhanush In His Movies, Asks A Logical Question

Director Aanand L Rai is all set for his next movie “Atrangi Re” which is going to release on December 24 on Disney + Hotstar and stars Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush and Akshay Kumar in important roles. Many south Indian actresses have tried their luck in Bollywood and have tasted success but when it comes to actors, not many have succeeded.

However, Dhanush is one of those few actors who have not done much work in Bollywood and still he is very popular among the north Indian audiences.

Dhanush made his Bollywood debut in 2013 with “Raanjhanaa” which was directed by Aanand L Rai and also starred Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol among others. Talking about roping in a south Indian actor in his movie, Aanand L Rai stated he did it because of the story and not because of any strategy.

During an interview, he said that at the time of “Raanjhanaa”, he told himself not to hesitate while approaching the talented actors from south because this is his country and these are his own people.

Aanand L Rai also puts forth a question that when Bollywood moviemakers can take the scripts from south and remake movies, why they can’t take the actors in their movies. He concluded by saying that if Pritam is his, so is A R Rahman and the same stands for Dhanush and Akshay Kumar.

Nowadays, many filmmakers are trying to bridge the gap between north and south by signing south Indian actors in their movies and web series. Some time back, the famous south Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu was seen in The Family Man 2 which starred Manoj Bajpayee and another south Indian actress Priyamani in important roles.

Pure Vegetarian Husband Asks Wife To Choose Between Him & Mutton, Twitter Reacts Hilariously

Everyone has their own choices when it comes to food and it won’t be wrong to say that a majority of people doesn’t like to change their eating habits for a person, though they may change it for medical or religious reasons.

Representational Image

Recently, a very strange case came into light when a person wrote to a newspaper columnist and narrated his plight in which mutton played an important role. The man states that he is a pure vegetarian and is married to a woman who is also vegetarian by caste but she has accepted that she loves to eat mutton whenever she gets a chance. The man further says that as the girl is very beautiful, he agreed to marry her by putting one condition that she would stop eating mutton which she accepted.

Representational Image

However, now the man has found out that his wife is cheating on him with mutton as she is eating it secretly. In fact, she has openly stated that she loves mutton and she can’t live without it. The man further says that he is ready to forgive his wife once again and he has also given her an ultimatum as per which she has to choose between him and mutton. What is making the husband sadder is that it will be very embarrassing for him if his wife chooses mutton over him and in the end, he asks columnist who she will choose in his opinion.

The columnist was also shocked a little after reading the question and congratulated the man for making a new record as this is the first time that a woman has to choose between a man and a goat. The columnist also hinted that a person can live without love but not without food so it is quite clear who she will choose.

Here is the newspaper cutting which was shared by a Twitter user on the micro-blogging site Twitter:

Paresh Rawal, Cricket Fraternity & Fans Fume At Virat Kohli’s Controversial LBW Out Decision

The Indian cricket team is in a pretty strong position in the second test match against New Zealand as the Indian bowlers have wrecked havoc on the Kiwi batsmen and wrapped up New Zealand’s first innings at the meager score of just 62 runs. Team India put up a good total of 325 runs in the first innings with the help of Mayank Agarwal’s beautiful knock of 150 (311 balls, 17 fours & 4 sixes) and useful knocks of 44 (71 balls, 7 fours & 1 six) and 52 runs (128 balls, 5 fours & 1 six) by Shubman Gill and Axar Patel, respectively.

However, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli must be pretty disappointed and his wait for a century got elongated as he got out for a duck after playing four balls. What makes it more frustrating is the fact that Virat’s dismissal was a controversial one and not just the cricketing experts but the cricket fans were left fuming after Kohli was given out by the third umpire. In the 30th over of the innings which was bowled by Ajaz Patel, the Indian skipper was given leg before wicket (LBW) out by the on-field umpire but Virat went for a review as he was confident that the ball had hit the bat first and then it hit the pad.

The replay also suggested that the ball hit the bat first as it changed its direction while moving towards the pad but the third umpire Virender Sharma gave the decision as out because he didn’t get the conclusive evidence which could prove that the ball hit the bat first. Virat Kohli left the field visibly annoyed after having a little chat with another on-field umpire Nitin Menon.

Simon Doull, the former Kiwi cricketer who is doing commentary in the test match which is being played at Mumbai also talked about the lack of conclusive evidence in this case and as per him, the decision given by the third umpire was absolutely correct.

However, the Indian cricket lovers and the cricket fraternity were not pleased with the decision. Even Bollywood actor turned politician Paresh Rawal didn’t mince his words in calling it an example of third class umpiring.

This is what Paresh Rawal tweeted, “Is it third umpire or third class umpiring?”

The micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with reactions in which the cricket fraternity and Indian cricket lovers lambasted the third umpiring for his decision. Check out some of the selected ones:
