Michael Vaughan Has A Piece Of Advice For BCCI To Improve Performance Of Indian Cricketers

The Indian cricket team will be playing its third T20I match in the ICC T20 World Cup against Afghanistan on 3rd November at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, and it is a must win match for India as it has already lost its first two matches of the tournament. India tasted humiliating defeat at the hands of its arch-rivals Pakistan in the first match as the Men In Green won the game by 10 wickets. While the Indian cricket lovers were hoping to see their team make a strong comeback in the match against New Zealand, the Indian cricketers put up a disappointing show once again and lost the match by 8 wickets.

Now the Indian team’s chances of making into the semi-finals are very bleak and one more loss will completely rule them out of the tournament. Many former cricketers have expressed their displeasure over the manner in which team India has played in the tournament especially considering the fact that it was termed as the favorites to win the ICC T20 World Cup before the start of the tournament.

Michael Vaughan, the former England cricketer has come up with a suggestion for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) which can help the Indian cricketers get more experience. Vaughan suggested that the BCCI should learn from other countries and allow its players to play in other leagues as well which are taking place all around the world.

Michael Vaughan’s tweet read, “India should take a leaf out of all other countries… Allow their players to play in other leagues around the World to gain experience… #India #T20WorldCup”

As of now, the Indian cricketers are not allowed by the BCCI to take part in other leagues as the richest board of the world doesn’t want to get its domestic cricket affected because of the foreign leagues. An Indian cricketer can take part in foreign leagues only after he takes retirement from the international cricket and also obtains a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the BCCI.

Time will tell whether the BCCI will listen to Michael Vaughan or not but at present, the Indian team is going through a very tough phase and now it needs to win each match if it wishes to save some respect in the cricket world.

Jasprit Bumrah Reacts After India’s Humiliating Loss To NZ, Reveals The Reason Behind It

India’s ICC T20 World Cup campaign is not going as per the expectations as it has lost both the matches that it has played till now and is now at the fifth position in their group of six teams. The top most team in this group is Pakistan which has won all the three matches played by it.

The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah feels that living in bio-bubble for a long period has affected the Indian cricketers to a great extent despite the fact that they have tried their best to adjust with this new way of playing in the times of COVID-19. Bumrah adds that staying away from the family members for long certainly has a negative effect on the players but cricketers don’t think about these things once they are on the field.

These comments were made by Bumrah after India suffered a huge defeat by 8 wickets against New Zealand in the second match of the ICC T20 World Cup. The ICC T20 World Cup started just couple of days after the IPL 2021 got over because of which the Indian players didn’t get much needed break and when Bumrah was asked about it, he replied in affirmative, saying that players absolutely need a break. Bumrah also mentions that the Board of Control for Cricket in India has definitely tried its best to make the players feel comfortable but still staying away from family in a controlled environment does have a negative effect on the players.

The Indian cricketers have been living in bio-bubble since the month of June when they visited England for playing the finals of the World Test Championship against New Zealand. After the WTC final which India lost, there was a three week break before the 5 match test series which India played against England.

Which two teams will reach the finals in your opinion? Let us know your views.

Twitter Roasts Team India With Hilarious Memes After Embarrassing Defeat Against New Zealand

The batting line-up of team India which is considered as one of the strongest in the cricket world failed for the second time in the ICC T20 World Cup and this time it was against New Zealand. Though the Indian team management brought Ishan Kishan in the squad and he was made to open the innings with KL Rahul, he also failed in giving a good start to the Indian side.

The senior cricketer Rohit Sharma who was demoted to number 3 was also not able to score big and in this match, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli too got out on the score of 9 runs for which he played 17 deliveries. At one fell swoop, it also deserves to be mentioned that the useful innings played by Hardik Pandya (23) and Ravindra Jadeja (26) made India cross the three digit mark.

As the Indian batting crumbled, netizens began to troll team India by making memes and jokes on the players. Cricket lovers have also taken a jibe at the Indian cricketers, saying that they play like champions in the IPL but when it comes to the World Cup or other big tournaments, their energy goes down or it appears to be an entirely different team comprising of unskilled players. As far as the match is concerned, New Zealand achieved the target of 111 runs in just 14.3 overs with 8 wickets in hand and kept its hope of reaching the semi-finals alive. On the other hand, India is at the fifth position in its group which comprises of 6 teams, even Namibia is ahead of India in the points table.

Earlier, India lost its first match of the tournament to Pakistan and that too was a big defeat as Pakistan won that game by 10 wickets. In fact, this was the first time that Pakistan was able to win any match against India in the World Cup.

Though Virat Kohli has stated that there is lot of cricket remaining in the tournament, the chances of India making it to the semi-finals are pretty low now.

Virat Kohli’s Old Tweet From 2011 Resurfaces After India Lost To New Zealand, Twitter Pokes Fun

The Indian cricket team’s disaster runs in the ICC T20 World Cup continues as it suffered a big defeat against New Zealand in its consecutive second match which was played yesterday at Dubai International Stadium. India is at the fifth spot in the group which comprises of 6 teams and its chances of making it to the semi-finals are very less now after this loss. Earlier, the Indian squad lost its first match to Pakistan and that was a humiliating defeat as Pakistanis won that game by 10 wickets.

As far as the match against New Zealand is concerned, India started losing from the very beginning as first they lost the toss and then the Kiwis invited India to bat first. Amidst this, an old tweet of the Indian skipper Virat Kohli is going viral in which he wrote, “Sad for the loss 🙁 going home now”.

Though this tweet was made in 2011, it fits in the present situation quite well and Twitter has been trolling him over it. Here are some of the selected reactions:

India made some changes in its squad for the match against New Zealand and Ishan Kishan was included in the team who opened the innings with KL Rahul. However, nothing worked as the Kiwi bowlers made it impossible for the Indian batters to score runs and the Indian side lost wickets regularly as a result of which it could manage to put a meager score of 110 runs on the board. The target was achieved by the Black Caps in just 14.3 overs with 8 wickets in hand.

After the match, Virat Kohli talked about the match and accepted that the Indian team was brave enough neither with the bat nor with the ball. He added that their body language was also not brave enough in comparison to the body language of the Kiwi players and the intensity of the Kiwis was also higher than that of the Indian team.

Kohli further said that every time the Indian batters tried to increase the run rate, a wicket fell and this happened because there was hesitation in the batters whether to go for a big one or not. As per the Indian skipper, one reason behind the hesitation is that there are huge expectations from a cricketer who plays for India as people come to watch them in the stadiums and every player has to cope up with this pressure.

Virat Kohli emphasizes on remaining positive and taking calculated risks. He also states that team India needs to disconnect from the pressure and play some positive cricket as there is still a lot of cricket remaining in the tournament.

Do you think India will make it to the semi-finals? Let us know your views.

UN WFP Director Says 2% Of Elon Musk’s Wealth Could Solve World Hunger, Elon Musk Responds

Elon Musk, the entrepreneur and business tycoon, is the world’s richest person and recently the Executive Director of UN World Food Programme (WFP), David Beasley has made a tweet on how Elon Musk can help in solving the world’s hunger problem.

Representational Image

During an interview, David Beasley stated that $6-billion donation from the top two richest persons Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos will be of great use in helping those 42 million people who may lose their lives if UN doesn’t reach to them.

The total net worth of Elon Musk is said to be $289 billion and $6 billion is just 2 percent of his total wealth.

Soon David Beasley’s statement attracted reactions and Dr. Eli David, the researcher and founder of Deep Instinct, took a jibe at Beasley when he tweeted,

“Fact check:  2% of @elonmusk’s wealth is $6B

In 2020 the UN World Food Program (WFP) raised $8.4B. How come it didn’t ‘solve world hunger’?”

Shortly Elon Musk also reacted on it and promised to sell the stocks of Tesla if WFP explains how it will solve the problem of world hunger. Elon Musk’s tweet read, “If WFP can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now and do it.”

Elon Musk also demanded that the accounting process should be open so that public should be able to see how money is spent. He tweeted, “But it must be open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent.”

David Beasley also notices the tweet of Elon Musk and he makes it clear that he never meant to say $6 billion will solve the problem of world hunger but it is a one-time donation which can help them save 42 million lives from a type of serious hunger crisis which the world has never faced before.

He tweeted, “@DrEliDavid, We’ve never said $6B would solve world hunger. This is a one-time donation to save 42 million lives during this unprecedented hunger crisis.”

In another tweet, he wrote, “@elonmusk! Headline not accurate. $6B will not solve world hunger, but it WILL prevent geopolitical instability, mass migration and save 42 million people on the brink of starvation. An unprecedented crisis and a perfect storm due to Covid/conflict/climate crises.”

https://twitter.com/WFPChief/status/1454883966071230472”

He also responded on the question made by Dr. Eli David regarding $8.4 billion which was raised by WFP in 2020 as he stated, “The $8.4B you refer to covers what we needed to reach 115 million people in 2020 with food assistance. We need $6B plus NOW on top of our existing funding requirements due to the perfect storm from the compounding impact of COVID, conflict and climate shocks.”

In one of his tweets, David Beasley also assured Elon Musk that accounting will be transparent and he offered Musk’s team to work with his team in order to ensure that money is spent in a proper way.

His tweet read, “I can assure you that we have the systems in place for transparency and open source accounting. Your team can review and work with us to be totally confident of such.”

Let’s see how things will proceed further and they come up with a solution to the problem.

Michael Vaughan Trolls Wasim Jaffer Over India’s Loss To NZ, Jaffer’s Reply Will ROFL You

The Indian cricket team lost its second consecutive match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 against New Zealand which was played yesterday at Dubai International Stadium.

The Kiwis won the toss and asked India to bat first. The Indian batters performed very poorly as the whole team managed only 110/7 in the stipulated 20 overs and the way they batted, cricket fans were not able to believe that this is the same team which was considered as the favorites for winning the tournament. The Black Caps achieved the target of 111 runs in just 14.3 overs and won the match comfortably by 8 wickets.

Earlier in its first match of the tournament, the Indian squad suffered a humiliating defeat against Pakistan and fans were really hoping that India would make a strong comeback but the manner in which the Indian side played against New Zealand, all the hopes of cricket lovers must have got thrashed.

The former England cricketer Michael Vaughan used India’s poor performance as an opportunity to take a dig at the former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer as they both often engage in Twitter banters.

Michael Vaughan tweeted, “How are you @WasimJaffer14?”

Wasim Jaffer who is known for his funny tweets replies with a still from the American sitcom Friends in which the character Ross doesn’t look in the good condition and replies in a squeaky voice that he is fine.

Wasim Jaffer tried to troll Michael Vaughan earlier when the latter predicted that the final of the tournament would be between England and Pakistan.

Vaughan tweeted, “England are an outstanding T20 Team.. So much clarity in everything they do.. making a decent Aussie team look very very average.. Pakistan v England final anyone?? #T20WorldCup #Pak #Eng”

Wasim Jaffer reacted with a meme of the Indian comedian Raju Shrivastav with the caption, “Team India who’ve played just one game seeing people pick semi finalists and finalists already: #T20WorldCup21”.

The Indian cricket team has disappointed fans in a big manner in the T20 World Cup and with the recent defeat against New Zealand, India’s chances of going into semi-finals have also become very bleak. What do you say?
