Twitter Enjoys A Hilarious Meme Fest As Facebook, Instagram & WhatsApp Face Global Outage

The social media networks have become an important part of our lives nowadays and they are used for not just communication but also business purposes as there are many organizations that are dependent on few social media networks for their smooth functioning.

Yesterday, the social media network Facebook, photo-sharing platform Instagram and messaging platform WhatsApp faced global outage because of which many online users were not able to use the services of these three platforms. Many users took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express their annoyance and complained on not being able to use these apps.

All the three apps issued statements on Twitter regarding their non-functioning:

Here is what Instagram tweeted, “Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now, and you may be having issues using them. Bear with us, we’re on it! #instagramdown”.

WhatsApp’s tweet read, “We’re aware that some people are experiencing issues with WhatsApp at the moment. We’re working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!”

This is what Facebook wrote on Twitter, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

The chance of cyber attack was denied by the security experts as the technologies used in all the three platforms are different so it is highly impossible to hack all three at the same time. Facebook which owns Instagram and WhatsApp stated that the outage happened due to internal technical issue and it also made it clear that there is no proof of user data being compromised.

Things turned back to normal after around 6 hours and it was one of the longest outages of the year. Miffed netizens expressed their frustration on Twitter but there were some who showed creativity and shared some funny memes in this regard that will make you go ROFL:

The Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg made an apology to all the online users and stated, “Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger are coming back online now. Sorry for the disruption today — I know how much you rely on our services to stay connected with the people you care about.”

The shares of Facebook also went down because of outage and it made Mark Zuckerberg bear a loss of around $7bn.

Well, it will not be wrong to say that such an outage brings life of netizens to halt to some extent and hopefully we don’t experience any more outage this year!

Mithali Raj Has A Hilarious Reaction On Losing Toss, Says She Needs To Learn From Dhoni

The Indian women’s cricket team performed pretty well in the historic one-off pink-ball test match against the Australian squad, however the match ended in a draw as rain spoiled the game on the first and the second days of the test match.

The toss of this one-off test match which was played at Carrara Oval was won by Australia which invited the visitors to bat first. The Indian women’s cricket team batted superbly as it scored 377/8 before declaring the innings and Smriti Mandhana played a superb innings of 127 runs for which she was also awarded with the Player of the Match award. In response, the Aussies put up a total of 241/9 on the score board, giving a lead of 136 runs to the visitors. In the second innings, team India once again put up a great performance and scored 135/3 before giving a target of 272 runs to the Australian team. However, the Indian skipper Mithali Raj’s move of declaring the Indian innings and asking the Australians to score 272 runs in just 15 overs surprised many, even Mithali felt it was a tricky one.

While speaking in the press conference after the match, Mithali said that the decision of declaring the innings was quite a tricky one as it was quite impossible to take eight wickets in 15 overs. Mithali praised her team members for the superb manner in which they performed in India’s first ever Day-Night test match. Mithali said that her team members put up a great show and this was certainly their best performance against Australia but she termed the victory in 2014 test match against England as a very special one. She added that winning a test match with a team that has eight debutants in England against England and that too, against that team which just returned after winning the Ashes was certainly great.

While Mithali Raj’s track record as a skipper is wonderful, what has become a topic of discussion is the high rate with which she is losing tosses. She also made a change in call in the toss of this test match but even that didn’t help and while speaking to the mediapersons, she said that she didn’t want to leave the legacy of losing toss. She also feels that she needs to take a cue from MS Dhoni in regard to how to win the toss.

Fans Lash Out At SRH Management As David Warner Cheers From Stands, “He Deserves Better Franchise”

The IPL 2021 has been like a nightmare for Sunrisers Hyderabad and its former skipper David Warner as the team is at the bottom of the points table with only 2 wins in the 12 matches that it has played in the tournament. David Warner was the skipper of SRH when the league started but because of his poor form and the team’s disastrous performance, he not only lost his captaincy but also lost his place in the playing eleven. In the second leg of the IPL 2021, David Warner once again featured in the playing eleven but his poor batting in a couple of matches once again made the management take the decision of dropping him.

Some time ago, David Warner posted a video in which he was seen watching a match of SRH on television in his hotel room which made many of his fans angry as they were annoyed with the fact that he was not taken to the ground with the team. At that time, the SRH coach clarified that as they would not be making it to the play-offs, the team management decided to give new players a chance to play the matches and David Warner was not the only senior player who had been left in the hotel.

However, fans now have one more reason to be angry as David Warner was seen cheering his team from the stands in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders. Warner posted a selfie with fellow spectators and what made fans angry was that he was not given even a place in the dug-out. Fans of David Warner slammed the SRH management and some were of the opinion that David Warner deserved a better franchise while on the other hand, few people believe that SRH and David Warner have an inseparable bond and the cricketer should be back with a bang in the next season of the IPL.

David Warner has been associated with SRH since 2014 and it was under his captaincy that SRH has won the IPL title in 2016.

As far as the match between SRH and KKR is concerned, the Kolkata franchise won it by 6 wickets. SRH batted first after winning the toss in the match which was played at Dubai International Stadium and put up a total of 115/8 in their 20 overs. KKR successfully chased the target with 6 wickets in hand and 2 balls still remaining in their innings.

Shashi Tharoor Tweets Pic Of Idlis Served On Ice-Cream Sticks, Foodies React

Idli Sambhar is one of the most loved snacks of southern India and it is also liked a lot in other parts of the country. What makes Idli so popular is the fact that it is not only delicious but healthy as well and it is pretty reasonable as far as price is concerned.

We all are accustomed to having round Idlis with Sambhar but a Twitter user shared a photo of Idlis which were stuck on ice cream sticks.

The pic was captioned, “The famous South Indian dish, Idli and Sambhar was given a creative twist by a restaurant in Bengaluru– Idli on an ice cream stick dipped in Sambhar and Chutney.”

Soon the tweet was noticed by Shashi Tharoor, the Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, who shared it with caption, “Absurd but practical”.

After Shashi Tharoor shared the tweet, it went viral and many people reacted on it. While many were annoyed over making Idlis like this, there were few who believed that it will make eating Idli easy as a person can hold it with stick, dip it in Sambhar and Chutney and bite it and so it seemed practical to them.

However, the majority was of the opinion that nothing can replace the round shaped Idlis and they don’t mind getting their hands dirty for having them.

Gautam Gambhir Allegedly Called MS Dhoni ‘So-Called Finisher’, Got Roasted Mercilessly

MS Dhoni, the former skipper of the Indian cricket team, is certainly one of the most successful Indian skippers and he has played many match winning knocks for his team. Dhoni used to bat lower down the order when he used to play for India and many times he ensured that his team ended the match as winner because of which he also earned the title of a great finisher. Well, Mahi still bats lower down the order for his IPL team Chennai Super Kings but he is going through a rough phase as far as his bat is concerned as the CSK skipper has scored only 66 runs in 11 matches in the IPL 2021.

Gautam Gambhir, the cricketer turned politician, has been quite critical of MS Dhoni and he doesn’t mind making controversial statements despite the fact that he gets trolled a lot on social media for the same. In the past, Gambhir has made some controversial statements against Dhoni and recently, he once again stirred a storm on the social media networks when he took a jibe at Mahi.

During the IPL 2021 match between Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders, Gautam Gambhir who is also a commentator talks about the role of finishers. He states that Andre Russell is also called a finisher but Virat Kohli, the skipper of the Indian cricket team and the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore, has certainly emerged as the best finisher in the last 2-3 years. Gautam Gambhir adds that just by calling someone a finisher doesn’t make them a finisher and Virat Kohli has scored more runs in comparison to the so-called finishers.

Though Gautam Gambhir didn’t take MS Dhoni’s name, almost all online users were quite sure that Gambhir tried to take a jibe at Mahi who is not able to perform well with bat in the IPL 2021.
