The fifth and the final test match of the 5-match test series between India and England is going to be pretty important as the result of the series will depend on the result of this test match. Presently, the Indian team has taken a lead by 2-1 as it won the fourth test match by 157 runs. The fourth test match was played at Oval and other than the superb game played by the Indian team, people from the cricket fraternity are also talking about the trumpet gesture which was made by the Indian skipper at the crowd during the test match.
It all happened when the England batsman Ollie Pope got out, Virat Kohli knew that the Indian team had a good chance to win the match then and he made this gesture towards the Barmy Army crowd as well as pointed fingers at them. While some cricketing experts like former Aussie spinner Shane Warne and former England cricketer Michael Vaughan have stated that there is nothing wrong in being a little sportive and also called Virat Kohli an entertainer.
However, few people from the cricket fraternity called this act classless including the former England cricketer Nick Compton who slammed Kohli for making such gesture when his team was already in a good position and now England’s Barmy Army has also responded on this matter.
Barmy Army tweeted,
“We can give it so we can take it so fair play Virat
See you in Manchester @imVkohli”
The final test match of the series is going to be played at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester, starting tomorrow (Sept 10), however one more member of the Indian support staff has turned out to be COVID-19 positive because of which tomorrow’s match is in doubt.
Let’s hope that things do not get problematic further and none of the Indian cricketers gets positive otherwise there may be no fifth test match.

MS Dhoni, the former skipper of the Indian cricket team, will once again sport the blue jersey but this time he won’t be taking the field as he will be playing the new role of mentor to team India for the ICC T20 World Cup which is going to take place after the IPL 2021. He last played for the country in the 2019 World Cup semi-final which India lost to New Zealand and last year he took retirement from the international cricket.
Mahi will be leading his IPL team Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2021 and as both the events – IPL2021 and ICC T20 World Cup are going to take place at the same venue, i.e., UAE, Dhoni will be able to help the Indian team in a pretty good manner.
After this news got public, fans of Dhoni started celebrating the comeback of their favourite cricketer but some of them also used this moment as an opportunity to troll the former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir who has now entered politics. Gambhir was also a part of both World Cup winning teams (2007 and 2011) which India won under the leadership of MS Dhoni and Gambhir also played an important role in India’s victory. However, both the cricketers are not on good terms and it is being said that the rift between Gambhir and Dhoni led to the exclusion of the former from the Indian team.
While MS Dhoni has always remained silent on the matter of his equation with Gambhir, the latter has spoken about it on various occasions and he has certainly angered many fans of Mahi in the process.
The Indian Twitterati called Gautam Gambhir the saddest person on the Earth and roasted him by means of hilarious memes after the BCCI appointed Dhoni as the mentor of team India for the ICC T20 World Cup. Here are some of the selected tweets that will make you go ROFL:

The 15-member Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup has been announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the exclusion of Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has left many surprised because he has been an integral part of the Indian team in the short format for a long time now.
Soon the chief selector Chetan Sharma revealed the reason as to why the selection committee headed by him chose not to select Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. He stated that they wanted spinners who can bowl quick so they opted for Rahul Chahar. According to Chetan Sharma, Varun Chakravarthy is a surprise package of team India as a mystery bowler.
Ravichandran Ashwin along with Axar Patel also got the call for the T20 World Cup which means that the Indian squad has 5 spinners including Ravindra Jadeja. Another exclusion which raised eyebrows was of Shikhar Dhawan who played some great innings for the country in the while ball cricket, however the left-handed batsman is going through a crisis in his personal life at the moment.
The Indian team will be led by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be his deputy. KL Rahul will be opening the batting along with Rohit Sharma and team India will have two wicket-keeping options – first is Rishabh Pant and second is Ishan Kishan. KL Rahul may be asked to keep wickets if the need arises and Chetan Sharma also clears the doubts regarding Hardik Pandya’s fitness as he states that the Gujarat cricketer will also bowl his quota of overs from the T20 World Cup. Hardik Pandya was not bowling for some time now due to fitness issues as he suffered a back injury around a year back and was playing as a batsman only.
Jay Shah, the secretary of the BCCI, also made an announcement regarding the inclusion of former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni in the Indian camp as a mentor. He stated that he talked to his colleagues along with the skipper, vice-captain and with Dhoni as well and he gave his affirmation to be a part of the team for the T20 World Cup only.
All the best to the Indian squad!

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian cricket squad for the T20 World Cup which will take place after the IPL 2021 in UAE. Cricket fans are a little surprised to see that Shikhar Dhawan and Yuzvendra Chahal are not a part of this team while Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel have been called back in the squad. However, one thing which has made the Indian cricket fans very happy is that the former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is also back in the team but before you think that he is going to play international cricket once again, let us make it clear that he won’t be playing for India but this time he will be donning the blue jersey for a new role, i.e., of a mentor.
MS Dhoni is certainly one of the best Indian skippers of all times, how we can forget that it was under his leadership that India won the first T20 World Cup which took place in 2007 and after that, he led the Indian team five more times in the T20 World Cups. Mahi is also known for his knowledge of the game and he is also termed as a very smart cricketer who not only has the ability to read the conditions pretty well but he also knows how to make the opposition players commit mistakes.
While the Indian cricket team is a very talented lot, the experience of MS Dhoni will be a great asset for the squad, especially when the IPL 2021 and the T20 World Cup are taking place at the same venue. As the IPL 2021 will end before the T20 World Cup, Mahi will have a pretty good idea about the conditions and though he won’t take the field, his suggestions can be of great help for the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.
As soon as the news got public, Twitter and especially fans of MS Dhoni appreciated BCCI’s decision and celebrated the comeback of Mahi. Here are some of the selected reactions:

The second leg of the IPL 2021 is all set to begin from September 19 and we will once again get the chance to see former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina on the field once again playing for their franchise Chennai Super Kings. Both the cricketers share a great bond as they have played a lot for India as well as for CSK, in fact Raina announced his retirement just after MS Dhoni took retirement.
Recently in an interview, the left-hander batsman spoke about many things including his relationship with MS Dhoni and when he was asked whether he ever got scolded by Captain Cool, Raina said that he had been scolded many times while playing together, especially whenever he (Raina) dropped a catch. Raina added that Dhoni used to tell him to focus particularly when he asked him to field at a particular place and was expecting a catch on the next ball.
In Raina’s words,
“Bohot baar hua hoga. Kabhi match khele honge. Catch chuta tha kabhi. Usne bola ki focus rakh, aa sakta hai catch slip mein. Maine pehle hi bola tha saale aane wala hai. Toh hota hai kabhi na kabhi ek keeper jab aapko ek position deta hai, usi ball pe usne socha, usi ball pe aaya”.
When Raina was asked about the favourite dialogue of MS Dhoni, the UP cricketer said that Dhoni’s favourite dialogue is that a match is not over until it gets over in reality so a player should play with self-belief and make all the efforts till the time the match actually gets over.
In the words of Suresh Raina,
“Unka sabse badia dialogue hai ki jab tak khatam nahi ho match, jab tak khatam nahi ho”.
As far as the IPL 2021 is concerned, CSK is at the second place with 5 wins in the 7 matches that the team has played and it will certainly like to win its fourth IPL title. MS Dhoni is the second most successful skipper of the league as CSK has won the IPL three times under his leadership while the most successful skipper of the tournament is Rohit Sharma as MI has won the IPL five times under his captaincy.
