The Indian cricket fans must be very disappointed as India had a good chance of winning the first test match of the 5-match series which was played at Trent Bridge between India and England but the match got drawn due to the rain. The toss was won the by the hosts and they decided to bat first, however the Indian bowlers didn’t let the English team score many runs and got them out at 183.
In response, the Indian team scored 278 runs with the help of brilliant knocks by KL Rahul (84) and Ravindra Jadeja (56). In the second innings, the England team performed a little better and managed to put up a score of 303 runs of the board. The English skipper Joe Root who scored useful 64 runs in the first innings, made a century (109) in the second innings and India was given the target of 209 runs to win the match.
On the fifth day, it was the Indian team which had upper hand as they had already scored 52/1 and needed to score merely 157 runs more with 9 wickets in hand. Well, the weather spoiled everything but still it won’t be wrong to say that the Indian team has certainly proved that they are fully prepared to deal with the English team in their backyard. Moreover, we have to praise the Indian bowlers who made it difficult for the English batters to take the benefit of home advantage.
Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian pacer, also played an important role in this test match as he dismissed total 9 wickets in both the innings. In the first innings of England, Bumrah took 4 wickets in 20.4 overs and gave away 46 runs while in the second innings, he took a five-wicket haul in 19 overs and gave 64 runs. Bumrah was going through a rough patch for some time and he was criticized a lot when he was not able to take a single wicket in the finals of the World Test Championship which was played between India and New Zealand.
However, KL Rahul found it a little awkward when he heard people saying that Bumrah has made a comeback. Rahul says that Jasprit Bumrah has proved his mettle in every game that he has played for the country and he has been the number one bowler of the Indian team. KL Rahul further states that they are very happy with what Bumrah has been doing for the team since he has started playing test cricket and he has once again done what he does the best.
Though Jasprit Bumrah started playing for the country in shorter formats in the year 2016, it was in 2018 that he made his debut in test matches and since then, he has taken 92 wickets in the 21 test matches that he has played.
Talking about the match, KL Rahul said that England had the advantage after winning the toss but the discipline with which the Indian bowlers bowled was superb. He added that Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami started in a great way and later on Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur also continued in the same manner.
The English skipper Joe Root was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his superb knocks of 64 and 109.

Cricket is said to be the gentlemen’s game but in modern times, behaviour of the players and the spectators have changed so much that this statement about the game does not seem to be true anymore. Cricket is said to be originated in England and till now, no cases of racial hurling during a match were heard in the stadiums of England but in the first test match between India and England, the English spectators crossed that limit as well and made it clear that they would not let cricket remain the gentlemen’s game.
While the Indian cricketers have not registered any formal complaint, a British Indian female who was also in the stadium during the match has narrated the horrible experience on Reddit. She wrote that racial abuses and slurs were constantly hurled on the Indian cricketers, while the Indian skipper was called “Wanker Kohli”, the pacer Mohammad Shami was called as “Sh**ty Shami”.
When the English fans didn’t stop making obscene gestures and indecent remarks, one woman asked them to behave properly after which the English fans questioned about her nationality and when this 31 years old British Indian woman also intervened, she was told to go back to India. She made a complaint to the steward and the ground officials and she along with her family was shifted to the stand where the Indian supporters were in majority.
Some English spectators were also seen shouting Delta, a COVID-19 variant which was earlier called Indian variant. This is certainly a serious matter, especially when the England and Wales Cricket Board has been making some great efforts to create awareness about racism.
As far as the first test match of the 5-match test series is concerned, the match ended in a draw due to the rain. England gave a target of 209 runs to the hosts to win the match; India had scored 52/1 and needed 157 runs but rain didn’t let the players set foot on the field on the fifth day.
Hopefully, the ECB will take a note of the racial incidents and take strict actions against the culprits.

Jasprit Bumrah was the target of his critics for not being able to perform well in the recent past, especially in the finals of the World Test Championship in which he didn’t even take a single wicket. When he was asked about the adjustments that he made in order to regain his form, the Gujarat pacer said that he didn’t make many adjustments, he just made some adjustments in his mindset and not technical ones.
He further stated that he stopped looking at the end results too much, adding that he is trying to give his best in the present and is backing his existing skills along with learning new ones.
As India was in a good position, when he was asked how they would take things from here, Jasprit Bumrah said that when a player starts playing, he has to believe in himself and also believe that he is playing to win. He adds that they are not looking very far ahead at the moment and will like to play session by session tomorrow with a positive mindset.
India needs 157 to win with nine wickets in hand as they are chasing the target of 209 on the fifth and final day of the first test match. Hopefully, rain will stop and we will get a result in the first test match.

The Indian cricketer stated, “Shardul teaches Bharat Arun more bowling than what Bharat Arun teaches Shardul”. Moreover, things turned more interesting when his statement was shared on the micro-blogging site Twitter by an online user.
While some online users praised Shardul Thakur for his bowling, few said that DK spoke the truth in a funny manner. DK is one of those few cricketers who have started doing commentary before taking retirement from the international cricket and he will be seen on the field in September-October when the remaining matches of the IPL 2021 will be played in UAE.

Robbers have been targeting the Automatic Teller Machines, which we usually refer to as ATMs, for a long time now as these machines are full of currency notes and while some of them are guarded by a guard, there are many which are not guarded and are open even in the night time. However, there have been some incidents in which ATM robberies have gone wrong and they have resulted in giving some really funny moments for us to laugh.
Many times robbers have uprooted the ATMs and taken them to another location in order to steal money from it but in a couple of incidents, robbers have taken the passbook printing machine mistaking it to be an ATM. In another incident, robbers got so frustrated with all the cutting that they left everything midway and ended up stealing poor guard’s phone only.
Recently, an incident of ATM theft took place in Tamil Nadu which once again left people laughing hard as the theft attempt backfired on the robber and police had to rescue him before taking him into custody.
The incident took place on Thursday morning in Aniyapuram, Namakkal district, in which the thief managed to reach at the back of the machine by cutting the plywood board.
However, people heard the noise when the thief tried to open the ATM by breaking it using stone and they called police. When cops reached the spot, they found that the thief was stuck between the wall and the ATM.

The thief has been identified as M Upendra Roy who is from East Champaran district, Bihar, and he has been sent to judicial custody at the Namakkal sub-jail.

It is a good option for those who want to take their office team or friends for a party or treat and is also ideal for the business of the food outlet.
However, the staff at one of the McDonald’s outlet in Australia was in for a shock when they got a huge order amounting to AUD 3,400 (Rs 1.86 lakh approx.). The details of the order were posted on Facebook by a staff member which left many stunned.

The order included 70 Angus Clubhouse burgers, 39 McFamily Boxes which has 234 burgers, 39 packs of 20 McNuggets, 69 large fries, 2 packets of small fries, a small Vanilla Coke (no ice) – and a Cheeseburger without pickles along with 100 drinks.
While the manager of the outlet must be pretty happy, the kitchen staff must have been pretty tired after having worked so much as they had to provide all the dishes at the same time considering the fact that everything should remain warm at the time of serving or delivering.
The staff should get one day off at least after such hectic work! What do you say?
