Neeraj Chopra Creates History, Wins Gold In Javelin Throw, Twitter Showers Praises

Today is a very big day for India at the Tokyo Olympics as Neeraj Chopra, the Indian track and field athlete who competes in Javelin Throw has scripted history by winning the Gold medal for the country.

With this, Neeraj Chopra becomes the second Indian sportsperson to win an individual Gold after Abhinav Bindra who won Gold in shooting in 2008 Beijing Olympics. What makes Neeraj Chopra’s achievement more special is the fact that it is the first Olympic medal won by an Indian in track and field event.

The 23 years old athlete who is a junior commissioned officer in Indian Army left the whole athletics world in a state of shock by producing the second throw of 87.58m in the finals. Neeraj Chopra is from Khandra village, Panipat, Haryana and he belongs to a family of farmers. This is certainly a great achievement not just for him but for the nation as well and with this Gold medal, India has won seven medals which is also the best performance of India in the Olympics after 2012 London Olympics in which India won six medals.

While Neeraj Chopra won the Gold, Jakub Vadlejch of Czech Republic won the Silver and Bronze went to Vitezslav Vesely of Czech Republic. Neeraj Chopra will be the flag bearer for India at the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics.

The celebrations have started in the country and at Neeraj Chopra’s house as well and we are pretty sure that he will be getting a grand welcome on returning to the country which he certainly deserves as well.

This Mumbai Cop Has Won Hearts On Social Media With His Superb Dance Moves

The Indian police has played an important role in helping the government fight the lethal COVID-19 virus and it was the Indian policemen who stayed outside their houses but ensured that everyone else remained inside their homes so that the citizens stayed safe and transmission of virus could be stopped. Mumbai Police is known as one of the best police departments of the world and it has also taken many initiatives for helping the Mumbaikars during the tough times. “I Survived All Politics & Powerful Opposition,” Manoj Bajpayee On His Struggles In Bollywood

Manoj Bajpayee, the veteran actor who not only worked in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu films but also in TV shows is certainly a household name in India and many times he has impressed movie buffs and critics with his wonderful acting performances whether he played the lead role, a supporting one or a negative character. Manoj Bajpayee has been in the industry for nearly 25 years now and he has won many accolades in his journey such as three National Awards and four Filmfare Awards. Apart from these, he has also been awarded with the fourth highest civilian award, i.e., Padma Shri.

Recently during an interview, Manoj Bajpayee opened up on his journey and stated that it was just like a roller coaster ride as it was not an easy one but full of ups and downs. In fact, he goes on to say that he hopes no one else has to face so much as he has faced because his whole career has been a struggle to get good movies and good roles.

Talking about self respect in Bollywood, Manoj Bajpayee says that there is a lot of cutthroat competition in the industry and anyone who wants to work with self respect and believes in his dreams has to face many enemies because most of the people expect you to work as per them and fulfill their dreams. As per the “Aiyaary” actor, he was here not to fulfill dreams of other people but to make his own dreams come true because of which clashes happened but finally he managed to survive in the industry for 25 years.

The “Family Man” star revealed that in the earlier part of his career, he used to pick all the phone calls irrespective of the time, sometimes people used to call him at the odd hours such as 12:30-1:30 am and some of them used to bully him while few made fun of him as they used to be under the influence of alcohol.

Manoj Bajpayee further says that now he silences his phone at 7-7:30 pm and doesn’t pick up any call. He also tells the interviewer that he is talking to him at this time because it is his job otherwise he wouldn’t have picked up the call in late evening.

The “Gangs of Wasseypur” actor states that he is trying to become a better actor and a better human being all the time, adding that he is happy by the grace of the God and considers his journey to be a miraculous one. He concludes by saying that in 25 years, he has faced politics, tough opposition and many blind items but ultimately he is here and will be there till he will like to be as he is a tough nut to crack.

Well, completing 25 years in the industry is indeed praiseworthy and we wish that all his dreams come true, if any remained unfulfilled.

Gambhir Slammed For Demeaning India’s World Cup Wins While Wishing Hockey Team For Bronze Win

The whole nation is going gaga over the Indian men’s hockey team as it has won the Bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics after defeating Germany by 5-4 in a thrilling match. What makes this win more special is the fact that India has won a medal in hockey after 41 years as last time India won an Olympic medal (Gold) was in 1980. The Indian hockey team led by Manpreet Singh was down by 3-1 at one moment but it made a strong comeback in the match and won it to break the 41 years old jinx.

Many people including the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cabinet ministers, politicians, Bollywood and sports celebs and common public took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to congratulate the Indian men’s hockey team. The former Indian cricketer turned politician, Gautam Gambhir also congratulated the Indian hockey team but the manner in which he congratulated did not go well with cricket fans as Gautam Gambhir called this victory of the Indian hockey team bigger than the 1983, 2007 and 2011 cricket World Cup wins.

This is what Gautam Gambhir tweeted, “Forget 1983, 2007 or 2011, this medal in Hockey is bigger than any World Cup! #IndianHockeyMyPride”

Netizens have not liked the former Indian cricketer’s tweet considering the fact that cricket and hockey are different games and comparison of any sort between them is highly unnecessary and doesn’t make any sense either. India won the first cricket World Cup in 1983 under the leadership of Kapil Dev and at that time, Indians were considered to be the underdogs. However, they defeated the West Indian team which had already won two World Cups and were the favourites to win the 1983 World Cup. So it would not be wrong to say that the 1983 World Cup win was the turning point for the Indian cricket.

If we talk about the 2007 T20 World Cup, it was the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup and what made it special was the fact that the Indian team was going through a critical phase at that time. MS Dhoni led Indian side won the T20 World Cup and brought a new lease of life in the Indian cricket.

The 2011 World Cup win is also special for Indian cricket fans as it was after 28 years that the Indian cricket squad won the World Cup under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

What surprised the Indian cricket fans more was the fact that Gautam Gambhir himself was a part of the 2007 and 2011 World Cup winning teams, so how he could demean these wins. This is how Twitter lashed out at Gambhir for his tweet:

From PM To Celebs To Sportspersons, Twitter Lauds Indian Men Hockey Team For Bronze Win After 41Yrs

Today is certainly a big day for Indian hockey and its fans as the Indian men’s hockey team has broken the 41 years old jinx and won a medal in the Tokyo Olympics. The Indian team defeated the German hockey team by 5-4 in a thrilling encounter and won the Bronze medal for the country. With this, we can now hope that glorious days of Indian hockey will be back as last time the Indian hockey team won a medal at Olympics was in 1980 when they won Gold for the nation. Hockey has given us 11 medals till date out of which 8 are gold.

Manpreet Singh is the skipper of the Indian hockey team and it won’t be wrong to say that the team has performed well under his captaincy in the last four years as it won Asia Cup in 2017 and Asian Champions Trophy in 2018. The Indian hockey team also reached the finals of the FIH Series in 2019 and quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup.

The victory is also special considering the fact that there was a time when the Indian team was down by 3-1 but they made a strong comeback and won the match by 5-4. The Chief Minister of the Indian state Odisha needs to be mentioned specially as he and his government pitched in to help Indian hockey when it was going through a crisis. In 2018, the official sponsor of Indian hockey Sahara pulled out and the Indian hockey teams were left with no sponsors which meant no competitive games for the Indian hockey teams. It was then that the Odisha government headed by Naveen Patnaik decided to sponsor both the Indian men’s and women’s hockey teams for five years and stuck a Rs. 100 crore deal with Indian hockey.

Naveen Patnaik used to play hockey in his school days and he was the goal keeper of his team when he used to study in Doon School, Dehradun.

Congratulations to the Indian hockey men’s team, we are proud of you!
