The Indian cricket team which is in Sri Lanka at the moment is facing a new problem as the Indian cricketer Krunal Pandya has tested COVID-19 positive and he won’t be playing further in the T20I series. The 2^nd T20I which was scheduled to take place on 27^th July was postponed and re-scheduled to be played on July 28.

However, the Indian camp will now have difficulty in selecting the playing eleven because eight Indian cricketers who are found to be in close contact with Krunal Pandya have also been sent to isolation as a precautionary move despite the fact that they have tested COVID-19 negative.

With this, the nine Indian cricketers won’t be available for selection and now the Indian fans are coming up with their views as to how the Indian team management can form a playing eleven for the second T20I.

The former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has also come up with a suggestion for this purpose but in a funny style as he has shown in his meme that the head coach of the Indian team Rahul Dravid will call the former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman and other former Indian cricketers for facing the Sri Lankan squad in the remaining matches.

Rahul Dravid is undoubtedly one of the finest batsmen of all times but the former cricketer who is also known as “The Wall” by his fans took retirement in 2012 and obviously he won’t be taking the field as a player in any situation.

The young Indian cricket team led by Shikhar Dhawan has been garnering praises for their superb performance in Sri Lanka as the squad which was called a second string team by the former Sri Lankan skipper Arjuna Ranatunga has won the ODI series by 2-1 and has also won the first T20I of the 3-match series.

During the Sri Lankan batting, the debutante Varun Chakravarthy was bowling the 18^th over of the innings. On one of his deliveries, the Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka got beaten and the ball went straight into the hands of Ishan Kishan. Dasun Shanaka also lost his balance, Ishan Kishan took the advantage of it and removed the bails in a swift manner because of which the Sri Lankan skipper got dismissed.

Sri Lanka needed 42 runs to win the match when Dasun Shanaka got out but after that, the hosts lost wickets quickly and India won the match by 38 runs.

As far as the match is concerned, the toss was won by Sri Lanka and they decided to bowl first. India scored 164/5 in their stipulated 20 overs with the help of Suryakumar Yadav’s fifty and a useful innings of 46 runs by the skipper Shikhar Dhawan. The Sri Lankan team was all out for 126 runs in 18.3 overs and India won the match by 38 runs. The Indian vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar was adjudged as the player of the match as he took 4 wickets for just 22 runs.

The second T20I will be played tomorrow and while the hosts will leave no stone unturned in winning tomorrow’s match to level the series, the Indians will like to win it in order to take an invincible lead.
