Kapil Dev Talks About Rahul Dravid Vs Ravi Shastri Debate & You’ll Agree With Him

We have seen cricket teams having two skippers for different formats, for example – Joe Root leads the English cricket team in the purest format of the game while Eoin Morgan is the skipper in ODIs and T20Is. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made two separate teams for different formats.

While Virat Kohli led Indian squad which comprises of senior Indian cricketers such as Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, etc. will be playing 5-match test series against England in their backyard, Shikhar Dhawan led team which is relatively a young squad is on the tour to Sri Lanka where they will be playing 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Indian team which is in Sri Lanka now and the head coach of this squad is the former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid.

Rahul Dravid has already earned a lot of respect and praise for the manner in which he has coached the junior teams and a section of the Indian cricket fans starting talking about removing Ravi Shastri from the post of the head coach and getting him replaced by Rahul Dravid.

Now the former Indian cricketer Kapil Dev under whose leadership India won the 1983 World Cup has opened up on this matter. The 62 years old former skipper says that he feels there is no need to talk on this topic at least till the time we get to know how our team performs in Sri Lanka.

He adds that there is nothing wrong in grooming a new coach but at the same time he questions that if Ravi Shastri has done a good job as the head coach, what the need of removing him is. Kapil Dev further says that unnecessary discussion on this topic will further increase the pressure on our coaches and players so it is better not to discuss it.

Kapil Dev also talks about the Indian bench strength and says that Indian bench is pretty strong and if both the teams can perform well and win in England and Sri Lanka, it will be the best thing for the Indian cricket. However, he adds that the BCCI and team management will have to decide whether two teams should be maintained for playing different formats or not.

Should Rahul Dravid replace Ravi Shastri or not? What are your thoughts in this regard? Do share with us.

From No Bed In Hospitals To No Room In Hotels, Twitter Sarcastically Roasts Manali Tourists

The second wave of the coronavirus pandemic had hit the country in a pretty big manner and once again many lives were lost but this time the situation was so bad that hospitals were full with patients and many patients didn’t even get bed in hospitals. Some people also lost their lives due to the lack of oxygen supply and several necessary medicines were also out of stock. All the states of the country imposed lockdown or lockdown like restrictions in order to stop the spread of the lethal virus.

However, the good thing is that now the situation is under control and almost all the states have started the unlock process. While few states are still asking for RT-PCR reports for the travelers who are coming from other states, some states such as Himachal Pradesh has even withdrew this condition and now people just need to have an e-Covid pass in order to enter the state.

With the temperature on the rise, many tourists decided to travel to the famous hill stations of Himachal Pradesh and the visuals that we are getting from there are quite scary as people have gathered in huge numbers over there and they are also not following the COVID-19 protocols.

The photos of Manali are doing rounds on the Internet and social media networks, showing the streets of the city are heavily crowded and it won’t be wrong to say that it is just like an invitation to the third wave of COVID-19.

A Twitter user shared the photos of Manali with the caption, “Pics from #Manali, where beds are running out in hotels. If we go on like this, soon there will be another episode of ‘No beds in Hospital’ will hit the reality soon! I know it’s hard not to go out and all, but people this pandemic is a real nightmare. Please be responsible”

The Indian Twitterati soon lost their cool and started slamming the tourists for their irresponsible behaviour. Here are some selected reactions:

Neither the government nor the medical experts will be able to control COVID-19 if people behave so irresponsibly and with such a careless attitude. This kind of conduct is highly condemning and proves that people haven’t learnt from their past mistakes and experiences.

Dhoni Fulfills Fan’s Dream & 13 Years Old Wish While Vacationing In Himachal Pradesh

The former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni has a huge fan base and even though we are not able to see him playing cricket at international level anymore, the memories of his match winning knocks are still alive in our hearts. The former Indian skipper who still leads his IPL team Chennai Super Kings was in Himachal Pradesh recently where he enjoyed vacations with his family.

Dhoni and his family stayed at MeenaBagh Hotel, Ratnari, and it was like a dream come true for the staff at the hotel as they got the chance to get clicked with their favourite cricketer. One staff member named Dev requested the hotel administration to transfer him to Ratnari as he was employed in MeenaBagh Hotel, Shimla, so that he could meet Mahi.

The administration granted his request and Dev not only served as steward to Dhoni but also got clicked with him. Moreover, Dev took the cricketer’s autograph on his mobile cover and stated that now he would never change the Dhoni-signed mobile cover.

This was not the first time that Dev tried to meet the CSK skipper as he tried his best to meet MSD and get his autograph in 2008 also when the legendary cricketer visited Rohru (Himachal Pradesh) for playing a cricket match but Dev was not able to fulfill his desire at that time due to security reasons. However, the good thing was that his almost 13 yrs old wish got fulfilled this time and MeenaBagh Hotel wrote about his story in one of their Instagram posts.

MS Dhoni will soon be leading his team Chennai Super Kings in the remaining matches of the IPL 2021 which will be played in UAE in the months of September-October. CSK was at the second spot in the points table with 5 wins in 7 matches when the league was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

KL Rahul’s Bullet Remark On Dhoni Begins A War Of Words Between Dhoni & Kohli Fans

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is undoubtedly one of the best Indian skippers that the Indian cricket team has had and he is loved by not only Indians but the cricket lovers all over the world.

What makes MSD stand apart from other captains is his cool and calm attitude along with the impeccable manner in which he used to marshal his resources. Many young talented cricketers have made their debut under Dhoni and some of them have been quite vocal in regard to the support and guidance that they have got from the former skipper.

KL Rahul is also one of those cricketers who made his debut under Mahi and recently in an interview, he praised Dhoni for his captaincy as well as for the respect of his teammates that he earned during his career. KL Rahul goes on to say that whenever someone says ‘captain’, he gets reminded of MSD and many players can take bullet for him without giving a second thought.

The current skipper Virat Kohli also made his debut under Mahi and the former has always lauded the latter for lending him support even when Kohli was not in form and for giving him enough chances to prove himself. Though Kohli and Dhoni are two different cricketers and their style of leading the team is also very different from each other, their fans have always been debating on the matter of who the better skipper is.

While Dhoni has proved himself by winning the three ICC trophies – 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy, the team has performed well under Virat Kohli but hasn’t won any major trophy and the recent defeat in the ICC World Test Championship final has further left the Indian cricket fans annoyed.

One more point in which MS Dhoni has an upper hand over Virat Kohli is that they both have been associated with their respective IPL teams since the inaugural edition of the IPL but Dhoni’s team has won the league three times while Kohli’s team is still waiting for their first IPL win. MS Dhoni has been leading Chennai Super Kings in a superb manner since 2008 and it is the second most successful IPL team after Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians which has won IPL 5 times. On the other hand, Virat Kohli has been leading Royal Challengers Bangalore since 2013 but has failed to lead his team to victory in the tournament even once.

The defeat in the WTC final and then the statement made by KL Rahul in regard to MS Dhoni have once again started a debate between the fans of Kohli and Dhoni. While some have agreed with Rahul’s statement and called Dhoni GOAT or the best skipper of all time, fans of Kohli consider Rahul’s remarks as a dig at Virat. Aakash Chopra Gives An Apt Reply To Arjuna Ranatunga Over Second String Comment On Team India

The Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli will be playing 5-match test series against England starting Aug 4 at Trent Bridge while another Indian cricket team is already in Sri Lanka where they will be playing 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is starting July 13. The Indian squad which has gone on the tour to Sri Lanka will be led by Shikhar Dhawan whereas Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been appointed as the vice-captain of the team.

However, absence of the senior Indian cricketers has not gone well with some former Sri Lankan cricketers including Arjuna Ranatunga who has called this Indian squad as the second string team and also added that sending a second string team to Sri Lanka is like showing disrespect to the Sri Lankan cricket. Arjuna Ranatunga has also slammed the Sri Lankan cricket board for allowing this Indian team to play the series for the purpose of earning revenue through the broadcast of matches.

The Sri Lankan cricket board was quick to react on this matter and reminded the former Sri Lankan skipper that this Indian squad has a pretty good experience at the international level and it is certainly a strong team.

Now the former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has reacted on the comments made by Arjuna Ranatunga. He says that the team has players like Shikhar Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, etc. who have played a good amount of international cricket and the he questions the experience of Sri Lankan players.

Aakash Chopra adds that it is true this team doesn’t have Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammad Shami, etc. but it can’t be called a B grade team because the players of this team has played 471 international ODI matches in total. He goes on to say that it will be interesting and exciting to match the experience of the Indian and Sri Lankan players who will be playing against each other.

Aakash Chopra did not stop here and also took this as an opportunity to remind the Sri Lankan cricket about the problems that it has been facing; for example – the Sri Lankan team has not won any international tournament or series for quite some time now and has lost all the matches easily to the England cricket team recently. The Sri Lankan cricket has also faced the problems of bio-bubble breach lately plus they are having contract issues as well. The former Indian cricketer also reminded the Sri Lankan cricket that it is they who have to play qualifiers for playing the World Cup and not Afghanistan which is relatively new in the international cricket in comparison to Sri Lanka.

Looking forward to some exciting cricket, what about you?

MS Dhoni, Son Of Sachin Tendulkar, Applies For Job Of English Teacher In Chhattisgarh

There have been many Indian cricketers who have inspired the youngsters but two former Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni are certainly from different league.

The legendary Sachin Tendulkar is considered as the God of cricket by the Indian cricket fans as he has played many match-winning innings and created so many records out of which most of them seem impossible for any other cricketer to break.

On the other hand, MS Dhoni is certainly one of the best skippers that we have had as he is the only skipper to win the three ICC trophies – 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions trophy. The best thing about Dhoni was that he never lost his cool even in pressure situations and had the capability and courage to take bold decisions which not many skippers can do.

These two former Indian cricketers are again making headlines, not just on social media networks but also in print and electronic media. Quite interestingly this time, they are in news not for cricket but for the fact that their names are being used by a mischievous person for applying for a job of a teacher.

Many young aspiring teachers of Chhattisgarh state are already annoyed and agitated with the slow process of recruitment of 14850 posts of teacher and now a case has come in light in which an applicant’s name is Mahendra Singh Dhoni while the name of his father is Sachin Tendulkar.

This MSD who applied for the post of teacher in Raipur was among 15 candidates who were shortlisted for the interview on July 2 by the authorities but when he didn’t appear for the interview, the officials got suspicious and decided to make a call on the phone number given on the application. Obviously the number didn’t get connected and the officials realised that the application was fake so now they are planning to lodge a police complaint against the fake applicant.

As per the application which is going viral on the Internet, this fake MSD is an engineering graduate from Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Durg.

Well, that’s quite a bizarre yet funny case and it will be interesting to see how real Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar react to this matter, if they do.
