Girl Asks People Dumbest Thing They Believed As A Child, Funny Replies Will Make You Nostalgic

As a kid, we are told many things by our parents and some of them are fictional which they tell us in order to keep us away from bad things or for inculcating good habits in us. However when we grow up and think about those days and those fictional things, we are surprised as to how we could be so dumb to believe such things and what is more interesting is that most of us keep on believing those things for a good time even when we are grown up.

Representational Image

Santa Claus, fairies, Sanju ki magic pencil (from Shaka Laka Boom Boom show) etc. are some of the concepts that we have believed for long but believing in such concepts also inculcate positivity in us during our childhood and kept us happy.

One Twitter user gave Indians a chance to revisit the past and made them nostalgic by asking to reveal all the silliest and dumbest things which they used to believe in their childhood and soon the micro-blogging site was flooded with reactions which were funny as well as weird (if we think about them now).

Here is what the Twitter user asked, “What is the dumbest thing you believed as a child?”

Some of them are pretty common such as swallowing a seed while eating fruit will result in making a tree grow inside the stomach or drinking tea will change our complexion from fair to dark, etc. Several users also talked about the false things which we were made to believe such as work hard, get good marks in 10th and 12th and then you will enjoy your whole life or they will get to decide everything when they are 18+ and mom will not interfere in anything. Most of the Twitter users talked about what they used to think on how the babies are born, such as fairies give them or parents get them from hospital or mall or they just appear after marriage without doing anything. Few were even weirder as they used to think that kissing a girl will make her pregnant or actors on TV will come outside if the TV is broken.

Virat Kohli Calls For Best-Of-Three WTC Finals, Michael Vaughan Takes A Dig At Indian Skipper

The World Test Championship was won by the New Zealand team after defeating India in the rain-affected finale by 8 wickets at Southampton, England. It had been one of the most hyped cricketing events in the recent past, especially because very less cricketing action has taken place in a year or so due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Cricket lovers were quite disappointed with the ICC for organizing the WTC final at Southampton because it is quite certain that it rains in England in the month of June and no cricketing action took place on the first as well as the fourth day of the match.

The Indians were the favourites to win the final as they played some really outstanding cricket in the purest format of the game in the last couple of years but many former cricketers and experts were of the opinion that the New Zealand team was better prepared than India as they not only played 2-match test series against England just before the WTC final but also won it by 1-0 and needless to say, this gave them a good idea of the English conditions.

After the loss in the WTC final, the Indian captain Virat Kohli states that he is completely in disagreement of deciding the best test team of the world just on the basis of one test match. He further adds that if it is a test series, it should be a test of character in which both teams should play over three test matches that would give a clear idea as to which team has the capability to make a comeback or completely defeat the other team.

After Virat Kohli made this statement, people started discussing it and while many supported the Indian skipper, there were few who disagreed with him and one of them was the former English cricketer Michael Vaughan.

Michael Vaughan took the micro-blogging site Twitter and made a tweet in which he asked how a test series can be played for the best of final when the schedule of the teams is already packed. He further raised question on the IPL, asking whether the league will reduce their two-week time for that purpose. He also adds that the finals are one-off games in which the team and the players know that they have to deliver as this is what makes them great.

Here is what Michael Vaughan tweeted,

“Where in the schedule would it fit in?? Are the IPL going to reduce the year of the final tournament by 2 weeks so it could fit in? Doubt it ..: Finals are one off games where teams/individuals know they have to deliver… that’s what makes them so great”

The Indian cricket team will now play a 5-match test series against England over there. While the England side will like to avenge the loss of 3-1 which they suffered when they visited India last time, the Indian squad will like to forget the loss of the WTC final and make a new start by attaining victory in the test series.

7 Tips To Save Some Money While Traveling

Cover Image Credit

By moving from one region of the world, you understand the differences between cultures and their similarities. Due to communication globalization and cultural transfers, you can find your lifestyle in any major city across the globe, especially if you are from the Western world. Be that as it may, your traveling experiences should also incorporate learning and engaging in the local cultures of your destination.

You will enjoy traveling if you are an outgoing individual; however, it will cost you a fortune. Since traveling is already expensive, it will help if you sort out budgeting tips and affordable packages to increase your visit to various regions. Traveling on a budget will not be the most luxurious experience if it is not what you mainly do. But the amount of real-time exposure to the local people and language will be worth the trouble.

Of course, the budgeting will start before the trip and extend into your stay period. An early start gives you time to research and get a mental picture of your experience. Luckily, there are several offers online for budget-friendly travel to all coveted destinations. However, during high seasons, such as summer, the prices skyrocket. Consequently, it would be best to travel to less popular regions when the demand is very high in the top-ranked destinations.

If you travel during the low season to a sort-after destination, here are tips to guide you as you stick to a budget.

Rent Your Place

You might get pressure to book a hotel room; they are beautiful and very attractive on their websites. In most cases, the view from your hotel room might be out of this world. However, your budget should propel you to a cozy and airy Airbnb. Technically, you will have a home to yourself for the amount of time you will be staying. Apart from the privacy a rented home offers, it is also affordable.

If you want to get a good view, spend some extra time comparing all the rentals available and select the one that best caters to your needs. The available options might blow your mind because investment property owners are pretty considerate of your needs. After all, they understand your compromise and seek to provide a better experience than a hotel.

As if that is not enough, you can share a rental property with friends, or your host can connect you with another tourist willing to share costs.

Use Public Transportation

Get acquainted with the local transportation systems that are available in the new state. More often than not, it is relatively cheaper to use a bus or train than to hire a car. Furthermore, through constant contact and communication with the locals, you will learn the language and get other tips on maneuvering the area. After all, what is the point of traveling to a place you do not get to experience fully? In some cities, these idealist perceptions will be futile because the crime rates are high.

In such a location, have a local guide with you at all times or get a little more insight on the areas to avoid. Although the spirit of adventure will propel you to more remarkable opportunities, do not risk confronting danger. It would be best for you to return home safe and sound.

Nonetheless, there is no place on earth that is entirely safe; therefore, do not harbor any limitations for yourself. The best alternative to public transport is car hire. There are a plethora of companies that can deliver the car to your doorstep, such as CarsRelo.com. They will guarantee you will receive your hired vehicle, and if you are not satisfied, they will provide several options for you.

Eat the Local Food

Sometimes, the delicacies of your province, state, or country may not be available in your destination of choice. But, in some cases, if it is available, it is overly overpriced because of the imported technique and ingredients. Ultimately, your budget cannot support the ridiculous prices these foods might cost. Moreover, use this opportunity to learn about the local delicacies; who knows, you might fall in love with them.

While you immerse yourself in the food, take it easy on the first few days, however tasty. Your digestion system might need readjustment to the foreign ingredients. However, the ingredients used in food around the world are relatively similar. Save for the culture that uses little to no spice; you are likely to assimilate very quickly. But, if you give yourself two to three days, your stomach will be ready for most of the local cuisine.

Haggle Like a Pro

A 90% guarantee predicts that someone will try to sell local products to you at a higher price because you are a tourist. Therefore, there is no chance that you will know the cost of every little product available at your destination.

As a result, always assume someone is trying to overestimate the value of a product. Nevertheless, convenient stores and brick-and-mortar stores never have a special price for tourists. This instability is from independent sellers or brokers because if you pay, they will get a commission.

Shop at Local Supermarkets

These local stores are not only convenient for you but also secure. You cannot get lost in a supermarket or grocery shop. It wouldn’t hurt you to try the open-air markets. Open-air markets provide the services a mall would but the variety is overwhelming. You can come across vintage souvenirs for your friends and family at an open-air market at a favorable price.

Depending on the location, you might need a guide around the area. But in most places, it is straightforward as far as the entrance and exit. Since it is open-air, you can walk towards the stall with whatever you need. These locations are exceptionally convenient for fruits, vegetables, and other groceries.

As mentioned earlier, haggling is much more practical at an open-air market than any other place. The vendors will attend to you; this is an excellent opportunity to make your needs known. In a supermarket, the manufacturer is never around to advise you on the product.

Carry Pocket Wi-Fi

Getting an internet service provider might take ages in a new location because you are neither a national nor know the process. In some rural areas around the world, the internet is inaccessible. Alternatively, rent one Wi-Fi to go at the airport. They are comparatively cheaper and more reliable than café or the hotel’s Wi-Fi.

If you are lucky, your Airbnb might have Wi-Fi; this is usually a standalone case and only if your Airbnb is next to a cosmopolitan city. Otherwise, a cabin in the woods will not offer you the same luxuries. Regardless of the situation and to avoid any inconvenience, come fully prepared with your pocket Wi-Fi. Furthermore, you will need an internet connection while away from the house you are renting.

Open a Specific Travel-friendly Account

Naturally, while on the go, you will need to make a few withdrawals here and there. Since your stay is unpredictable, the expenses might surpass the expectations. Therefore, in such a case, your regular cashouts should not only be unlimited but free. As a result, the accumulated cost of withdrawal charges might be more expensive than the actual travel costs.

At the same time, large withdrawals at once will not be prudent. Firstly because of security unpredictability, your money should stay in the bank. Secondly, you will become tempted to spend more of the money that is always in your pocket. If you do not have to make an effort to go and get your money, you might spend it all in a day. That is not impossible, because the temptation to buy beautiful souvenirs is very intense.

Aside from the exotic experiences of traveling, it would help if you grew more thrift with time. You will need money to get to most places around the globe. As much as there are different travel packages, they do not cover every aspect of the trip. Therefore, whenever possible, use these packages to save the rest of the money for other personal exploration.

Final Thoughts

When you take the bold step of leaving your comfort zone and venturing into a world of the unknown, keep in mind that you have a responsibility to be thrifty for yourself and your loved ones. Do not waste all your money to get into places you cannot afford. In most cases, entry into those places is free; it is just your accommodation that is expensive.

You have the option of living in a packaged location or a rental for the same amount you would use for one night at a resort. Take the former choice, and visit the resort during the day for the view and refreshment. Your budget and vision for your experience determine your stay in a foreign location in the long run. If it is not a cross-country trip, you can opt for mountain hiking. Also, you can make your journey a road trip; it is all entirely up to you.

Twitter User Shares How Tapu Sena Is A Far Better Event Organizer Than ICC & It’s Bang On

The World Test Championship final was one of the most hyped cricketing events but all the excitement of the cricket fans got spoiled after the final match between India and New Zealand was marred by the rains to a great extent. Though the International Cricket Council kept a reserve day for the final match, there was no cricketing action on the first day and the fourth day of the test match which left all the cricket fans angry and annoyed.

The apex body of cricket, ICC got slammed by not just the common public but many former cricketers too for selecting Southampton as the venue for the WTC final despite knowing that it rains in England in the month of June. Twitterati has been trolling the ICC for the past few days but one Twitter user has gone one level ahead and compared the organizing skills of the ICC with Tapu sena.

Well, there is hardly any chance that you don’t know about Tapu Sena but if you are actually not aware of it, let us tell you that it is the name of the group of kids which features in one of the most popular sitcoms of the Indian television, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah. The kids of this serial celebrate each festival in a grand manner and they also organize cricketing event Gokuldham Premier League (GPL) each year. Frankly speaking, the comparison leaves no doubt in our minds that Tapu Sena is a far better organizer than the ICC despite the fact that the kids in the show don’t have as much resources and time as the cricket body.

Here is the tweet:

There is no denying the fact that Tapu Sena organizes any event successfully even if they have only one day for preparation while the ICC fails even when they had aroud 2 years and nobody can argue in regard to the fact that Tapu Sena is also better than the ICC in deciding the venue. The Twitter user also pointed out that though Tapu Sena has fewer resources (money, technology, etc.) than the ICC, their success rate is 100 percent while the cricket body has proved to be a failure more than once. It also states that Tapu Sena organizes an event in such a manner that the society gets benefitted in monetary terms as well while the ICC not only wastes its own resources but the sponsors also suffer losses.

We also agree with this Twitter user as Tapu Sena gets praised all the time but on the other hand, the ICC’s working style makes it suitable for getting slammed only.

As far as the match is concerned, the Indian team has scored 170 runs in their second innings and New Zealand was given the target of 139 out of which they have already scored 19 by the tea time without losing any wicket.

We sincerely hope this tweet is seen by the ICC as well so that it also learns from Tapu Sena as to how to organize an event in a better, effective and successful way.

Man Got Parle-G Biscuits In Place Of What He Actually Ordered From Amazon, See His FB Post

The online shopping has almost become a necessity in the times of the coronavirus pandemic as people are advised to stay indoors as much as possible and go out only if very necessary. The medical experts have also emphasized on practicing social distancing along with wearing mask as the COVID-19 virus is contagious in nature and the chances of a person getting infected increase if he comes in contact with a COVID-19 positive person.

Representational Image

The best thing about online shopping is that the person doesn’t need to go anywhere and the goods are delivered at his doorsteps. It is also seen that the e-commerce sites give good discounts and the goods can be bought at lower prices in comparison to the local stores which mostly sell things on MRP. However, one big setback with online shopping is that there are many fraudsters who are always looking for targets and leave no stone unturned in robbing a person of his hard-earned money.

In many cases, an online shopper gets something which he has not ordered, for example there have been instances in which a person who ordered an iPhone got bricks inside the packet and so on.

In a similar sort of incident, a Facebook user Vikram Buragohain informed his friends and followers on the social networking site that he has received Parle-G biscuits instead of the item that he ordered from Amazon.

The surprising thing was that Vikram Buragohain was not at all angry and he was so positive that he wrote, “Ab Chai Banana Padega” (Now I will have to make tea).

Here is the post:

In the comments, someone asked Vikram what he actually ordered and he replied that he purchased a remote controlled car.

Parle-G is the most popular biscuit brand of India and its taste along with its cheap price makes it one of the most sold and most loved biscuits of India.

Mohammed Shami Wearing A Towel On The Field In WTC Final Sparks Memes Fest On Twitter

The rain-affected final of the World Test Championship is into its last day of the match and the Indian batsmen are struggling at the moment as in the second innings, India has lost 5 wickets at the score of 134. Though India has taken a lead of 102 runs over New Zealand, it doesn’t seem to be enough especially because the Kiwis have a better understanding of the English conditions as they have already played two-match test series against England before the WTC final.

It won’t be wrong to say that the bowlers of both the teams have performed better than the batsmen as in the first innings of India, the Kiwi bowlers got them all out at just 217 with Kyle Jamieson taking a fifer for 31 runs. The Indian bowlers struggled initially in the first innings of New Zealand but they soon made a comeback and restricted the Kiwis at 249. Mohammad Shami was the pick of bowlers for India as he bowled superbly and took 4 wickets.

While Mohammad Shami was already getting praised on the social media networks because of good performance, he started trending for one more reason which was quite unusual as well as funny.

During the match, Mohammad Shami was seen wrapping himself with a towel and this led to a hilarious meme fest on Twitter.

See the Instagram post by the ICC:

This is how hilariously Twitter reacted after spotting Shami in the towel:

There is no denying the fact that the weather in Southampton is quite cold and due to rains, it must have got colder so Shami might have needed to keep his body warm in order to bowl well. Mohammad Shami was just trying to keep himself warm by wrapping towel over himself which gave everyone a chance to laugh a little in the serious situation of the WTC final match.

Jasprit Bumrah Wearing Wrong Jersey In WTC Final Made Fans Go Crazy, Funny Tweets Outpoured

The cricket teams of India and New Zealand are trying their best to win the final of the World Test Championship in order to become the champions despite the fact that the match has been marred by rains in a big manner. With one day play remaining in the match, the chances of draw are high until and unless the Kiwi bowlers deliver a magical performance and get the Indian team out at small score and then their batsmen chase the target successfully.

If you remember, the ICC came up with new dress for the WTC final and the players of both the teams were supposed to wear that dress only in the match. However on the fifth day of the test match, the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah was seen wearing his regular white BYJU’S jersey which he must have worn by mistake. After seeing Jasprit Bumrah in the wrong jersey, majority of the Twitter users got reminded of their school days when they used to get scolded by their teachers for not coming dressed up in the correct dress as mostly on Saturdays, we all had to wear whites.

A little later, Jasprit Bumrah was seen running back to the dressing room in order to rectify his mistake and wear the proper dress.

As netizens leave no chance of having fun at the expense of someone, especially a sportsperson and celebrity, they went crazy over Bumrah wearing the wrong jersey. While some said that Bumrah is out of form in the dress selection too, many others said that his jersey might have not dried due to rains or he might be feeling more energetic in BYJU’S jersey. Here are some of the selected reactions:

As far as the match is concerned, a lot depends on the Indian middle order now as the Indian team has already lost their four top order batsmen. By the time this article was written, the Indian team scored 103/4 with Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant on the crease and India is leading by 65 runs. Kyle Jamieson who took a fifer in India’s first innings has taken 2 wickets in the second innings along with Tim Southee who has also taken 2 wickets.

The Indian batsmen were not able to put up a good show in the first innings as the whole team got out for 217, however the Indian bowlers performed well and restricted the Kiwis at 249.

Which team do you think will win the match or will it end in a draw? Share your views in this connection.
