Mohammad Amir, the former Pakistani cricketer, is not new to controversies and there have been many instances when he has been slammed by the former Pakistani cricketers and fans. The 29 years old cricketer took retirement from the test cricket in 2020 and soon he called it quit from all forms of cricket after he had differences with head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and the bowling coach Waqar Younis.
Mohammad Amir is presently settled in England and he will continue to play the franchise cricket. Recently, he grabbed eyeballs when he stated that he doesn’t find it difficult to bowl against the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and the Indian short format vice-captain Rohit Sharma who is also known as Hitman. Amir further said that in comparison to Rohit Sharma, bowling to Virat Kohli is tougher and he can get Rohit Sharma out by two ways – by swinging the ball away and by bringing the ball back.
The statement did not go well with the Indian cricket fans as well as with the former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria who slammed Amir for making such a senseless remark. Kaneria says that Rohit Sharma has scored quite a few double tons and he can easily be called a run-machine, adding that there are not many bowlers in the world who can pose a challenge to him. In fact, Danish Kaneria goes on to say that there is hardly any other batsman in the world who plays spinners or pacers better than Rohit.
Danish Kaneria then talked about Amir and said that he no longer has that pace or swing that he used to have and because of this only, he has been dropped from the national team after he was not able to perform for past 2 years. While speaking on his YouTube channel, Danish Kaneria asked Mohammad Amir to make a comeback, perform well and make such statements only when Rohit Sharma is batting against him because only then such statements will be of any use otherwise these remarks hold no value.
While concluding, Danish Kaneria states he doesn’t think Mohammad Amir will be able to get Rohit Sharma out easily because the Indian batsman has a higher class and is far superior to the former Pakistani pacer.
Mohammad Amir was able to get the wicket of Rohit Sharma in the finals of the Champions Trophy 2017 but in 2018, things were completely different when India and Pakistan played against each other in the Asia Cup.
What do you think of the statement made by Mohammad Amir and the opinion of Danish Kaneria in this regard? Let us know your views.

Twitter is one of the best places to share things about life and recently a Twitter user started a trend in which she asked everyone to tell they are married without telling that they are married. She also posted some screenshots of the WhatsApp chats which she had with her hubby and in most of the chats, they were talking about the groceries and other things which are required for a family.
It is completely true that life changes after the marriage and it changes in a big manner after the couple becomes parents and we are quite sure that every married person will find it relatable.
Here is the tweet made by the woman whose Twitter handle is @Miss_Takken with the caption, “Tell me you’re married without telling me you’re married.”

It won’t be wrong to say that there are a lot of options for entertainment on Twitter as many interesting trends can be seen on the micro-blogging site. If you remember, some time ago, a person asked everyone to tell that they are middle-class without saying that they are middle-class just by posting photos. In another instance, a person started a trend in which he shared items which were used by desi mothers for beating their kids such as umbrella, stick, slippers, etc. and people not only laughed out loud but also added their input.
How will you tell that you are married without telling that you are married?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons in the recent past. Earlier it received flak by the social media users for the big difference in the annual contract amounts of the men and women cricketers. Subsequently, the netizens came after BCCI harshly when they got to know that the women cricketers haven’t received the share of their runners-up prize money of the ICC T20 World Cup which took place in March 2020. And now people are pretty unhappy with the board because it has not paid the compensation to the players who played in the Ranji Trophy 2019-20.
The biggest reason for the delay in payments is the absence of proper compensation distribution plan. The BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal stated that payments are also delayed because the state units have not sent the necessary details till now.
During an interview, Dhumal says that the state units haven’t provided them with the details of players, who has played, the number of matches played and who was kept in reserve. He goes on to say that not even a single state has sent them the proposal for compensation. However, Arun Dhumal has confirmed that the payments for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy which was Rs. 35K per match has been cleared.
As far as Ranji Trophy 2020-21 was concerned, it was not organised due to the coronavirus pandemic. In the IPL 2021, there were 73 uncapped players whose earning range from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 10 crore but there are 700 cricketers who are not signed by the IPL teams and they earn Rs. 10 lakh – Rs. 20 lakh in a complete domestic season and a match fee of Rs. 1.40 lakh is paid to them for Ranji Trophy.
A senior BCCI official states that the treasurer Arun Dhumal is absolutely right. He adds the BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has made the announcement regarding the compensation but how to ascertain the players who played 8 or 10 matches in a season and who were in the reserve as half payment is made to the reserve players. The official says that the same amount can’t be paid to each player and giving a lump sum amount to the states is also not an option as it will be very difficult to monitor the states.
Though the coronavirus pandemic has played an important role in the delay of payments, we sincerely hope that the state units act soon and send all the necessary details to the BCCI so that the players can get their due compensation.

Waqar Younis is one of the greatest fast bowlers that Pakistan has produced, in his career of 14 years. The former Pakistani skipper has played 87 test matches and 262 ODIs in which he took 373 and 416 wickets, respectively. After retirement from cricket, he has also worked as commentator and has also served as the coach of the Pakistani cricket team. Presently, he is the bowling coach of the Pakistani squad and his caliber can be ascertained by the fact that he got placed in the top ten of all times based on the rankings given by the ICC.
The International Cricket Council also posted a video in which it celebrated the career of the former Pakistani pacer but it made a pretty big mistake or rather we should say a blunder. India and Pakistan are arch-rivals not only on the borders but also on the cricket grounds and what the ICC did was that it called Waqar Younis an Indian player and also wrote the details of his career period incorrect.
Within the five seconds of the start of the video, the graphic shows Waqar Younis as an Indian player and this error was caught by an alert cricket fan who made no delay in posting it on the micro-blogging site Twitter and trolled the ICC big time.
Here is the tweet of the cricket fan in which he points out the error:

The former skipper of Pakistan who led his team in 17 test matches and 62 ODIs was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the year 2013 and he stated that he is quite proud of standing at the same level as Hanif Mohammad, Javed Miandad and Imran Khan. He added that he is very lucky to get the chance to play with Imran, Miandad and Wasim Akram.
What is your take on the error committed by the ICC?

The young Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw is a special talent but there are times when he finds it difficult to score runs for his team. He had a great outing in the IPL 2021 as he scored 308 runs in the 8 matches that he played for his team Delhi Capitals and DC was at the top of the points table with 6 wins. The IPL 2021 got postponed mid-way after some players and staff members got infected with COVID-19.
Even before the IPL 2021, Prithvi Shaw was in a great form as he scored 827 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy with a high average of 165.40 but prior to that, he performed poorly in the IPL 2020 as he scored only 228 runs and his average was 17.54 which was pretty low for a batsman of his caliber.
The head coach of DC, Ricky Ponting has expressed his unhappiness over the fact that Prithvi Shaw doesn’t like to bat in the nets when he is not scoring runs in the matches. Recently, Shaw opened up on this matter as he said that last year when he was performing well and scoring runs, he wanted to keep on batting but there came a time when he was not able to score runs. He kept on training continuously but no fruitful result was there and he was still not able to score runs after which there came a point when he got fed up and he halted his training as it was not making any sense to him.
While talking to a cricket portal, Prithvi Shaw said that Ricky Ponting sir was talking about the time when he stopped his training for some time and took a backseat after he was not able to score runs in matches.
Prithvi Shaw may have been in an excellent form off-late but still he wasn’t included in the Indian squad which is going to play the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand at Southampton, England in June.

The Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav is one of the finest batsmen of the modern times. He is capable of taking his team home as the winner and this has made him an integral part of the IPL team Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai batsman got the chance of making his debut at the international level under the captaincy of Virat Kohli against England in the shorter format but there has been an instance when he was sledged by the Indian skipper.
The incident took place in the IPL 2020 in a match which was played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. RCB had given the target of 165 to MI and Suryakumar Yadav played an unbeaten knock of 79 runs for which he played 43 balls and his innings included 10 fours & 3 sixes. It helped his team in winning the match with five balls remaining and SKY was also adjudged as the Player of the Match for his sensational innings.
While SKY was batting, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli tried to break his concentration by sledging him and recently the MI batsman opened up on this incident during an Instagram live chat session. SKY said that it was not just about him but Kohli went harsh on every player who was playing against him. He added that he is pretty happy with the fact that Kohli sledged him because this meant that the RCB skipper felt that getting him (SKY) out was necessary for their win because if he kept on batting, MI would certainly win the match.
SKY adds that he is a pretty cool and calm person and usually doesn’t get involved in such rivalries but that one can be counted in his name.
SKY came on the pitch after the opener Quinton De Cock was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj and he got supported by the other MI batsmen such as Pandya brothers and Ishan Kishan. If we talk about SKY’s performance in the IPL 2020, he had a decent tournament with 480 runs which also included four fifties in 16 matches.
SKY will certainly like to perform well in the white-ball series which India will soon play against Sri Lanka as it will help him in securing his berth in the team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been in news of-late for all the wrong reasons, earlier the social media users slammed the board for the pay disparity between the men and women cricketers as even the lowest annual contract for men cricketers which is Rs. 1 crore is double of the highest annual contract for women cricketers which is Rs. 50 lakh.
While this was not enough for people to get annoyed with the BCCI, it was revealed that the Indian women cricket team which played in the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 hasn’t received its share of prize money till now. The ICC T20 World Cup took place in March 2020 and the Indian cricket team was the runner-up as it got defeated by Australia in the finals. The Indian team got the prize money of $500,000 by the International Cricket Council but even after more than one year has passed, the Indian women cricketers haven’t received their share of prize money. As this news got viral, netizens slammed the BCCI once again and now the board has responded in this matter.
A BCCI official said that the board received the prize money late last year by the ICC and most probably all the players will get their share by the end of the coming week as the transactions have been processed. On being questioned in relation to the huge delay in the payments, the official says that it takes usually 3-4 months in processing the payments of the players across all the age groups and the work has also been affected severely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The official added that even before COVID-19 hit India, the domestic season used to get over by March but the players used to get payment by September and in the present conditions, the work has slowed down a lot as the Mumbai office of the board had been closed for quite a good amount of time. He also added that as per his knowledge, the payments are processed at the same time whether it is for men cricketers or for women cricketers.
Undoubtedly, the coronavirus outbreak has affected all and sundry in a pretty bad manner and we pray that the world gets over the pandemic soon.
