Suryakumar Reacts To Heated Argument With Kohli In IPL2020, Says “I Was Happy He Sledged Me”

The Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav is one of the finest batsmen of the modern times. He is capable of taking his team home as the winner and this has made him an integral part of the IPL team Mumbai Indians. The Mumbai batsman got the chance of making his debut at the international level under the captaincy of Virat Kohli against England in the shorter format but there has been an instance when he was sledged by the Indian skipper.

The incident took place in the IPL 2020 in a match which was played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. RCB had given the target of 165 to MI and Suryakumar Yadav played an unbeaten knock of 79 runs for which he played 43 balls and his innings included 10 fours & 3 sixes. It helped his team in winning the match with five balls remaining and SKY was also adjudged as the Player of the Match for his sensational innings.

While SKY was batting, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli tried to break his concentration by sledging him and recently the MI batsman opened up on this incident during an Instagram live chat session. SKY said that it was not just about him but Kohli went harsh on every player who was playing against him. He added that he is pretty happy with the fact that Kohli sledged him because this meant that the RCB skipper felt that getting him (SKY) out was necessary for their win because if he kept on batting, MI would certainly win the match.

SKY adds that he is a pretty cool and calm person and usually doesn’t get involved in such rivalries but that one can be counted in his name.

SKY came on the pitch after the opener Quinton De Cock was dismissed by Mohammed Siraj and he got supported by the other MI batsmen such as Pandya brothers and Ishan Kishan. If we talk about SKY’s performance in the IPL 2020, he had a decent tournament with 480 runs which also included four fifties in 16 matches.

SKY will certainly like to perform well in the white-ball series which India will soon play against Sri Lanka as it will help him in securing his berth in the team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021.

BCCI Reacts After Facing Backlash For Not Paying Indian Women’s Team ICC T20 WC Prize Money

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been in news of-late for all the wrong reasons, earlier the social media users slammed the board for the pay disparity between the men and women cricketers as even the lowest annual contract for men cricketers which is Rs. 1 crore is double of the highest annual contract for women cricketers which is Rs. 50 lakh.

While this was not enough for people to get annoyed with the BCCI, it was revealed that the Indian women cricket team which played in the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 hasn’t received its share of prize money till now. The ICC T20 World Cup took place in March 2020 and the Indian cricket team was the runner-up as it got defeated by Australia in the finals. The Indian team got the prize money of $500,000 by the International Cricket Council but even after more than one year has passed, the Indian women cricketers haven’t received their share of prize money. As this news got viral, netizens slammed the BCCI once again and now the board has responded in this matter.

A BCCI official said that the board received the prize money late last year by the ICC and most probably all the players will get their share by the end of the coming week as the transactions have been processed. On being questioned in relation to the huge delay in the payments, the official says that it takes usually 3-4 months in processing the payments of the players across all the age groups and the work has also been affected severely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The official added that even before COVID-19 hit India, the domestic season used to get over by March but the players used to get payment by September and in the present conditions, the work has slowed down a lot as the Mumbai office of the board had been closed for quite a good amount of time. He also added that as per his knowledge, the payments are processed at the same time whether it is for men cricketers or for women cricketers.

Undoubtedly, the coronavirus outbreak has affected all and sundry in a pretty bad manner and we pray that the world gets over the pandemic soon.

TN Couple Ties The Knot In Plane With 161 Guests Because Of COVID Restrictions On Ground

The country is fighting against the second wave of COVID-19 and almost all the states have imposed lockdown in order to stop the spread of the lethal virus. Many restrictions have also been imposed in regard to the number of people who can attend an event; for example, most of the states have restricted the number of guests in a marriage to 50 while only 20 persons can attend the last rites.

However a couple from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, found out a unique way of getting married in a grand manner and celebrating it with their family and relatives. We are talking about Rakesh and Dakshina who rented a chartered plane and got married in the presence of their 161 relatives inside the airplane.

As per the sources, on Sunday morning at 7 am, the flight took off from the Madurai International Airport and the airplane was in the air for around 2 hours. The couple got married when the airplane was flying in the air around the Meenakshi Amman temple.

The photos of the wedding ceremony have gone viral on social media networks in which nobody is seen wearing masks and social distancing is also not practiced in the airplane.

The Superintendent of Police has called it an unusual violation and said that it is still to be decided whether the case has to be registered in the city or in the rural limits. The airline service whose chartered plane was rented has also been asked to give an explanation regarding the huge number of people present in its flight.

He also admits that there is no doubt that the COVID-19 precautionary norms have been violated by the people inside the flight.

The couple claimed that each guest had undergone the RT-PCR test and every person’s report was negative. However, the collector has stated that an investigation has been launched into the matter and the suitable action will be taken after the probe gets completed.

Wisden India Asks Which Player Should Play In India Test Team, Jaffer Replies With Virat’s GIF

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli is known not only for his wonderful batting, captaincy or his fitness levels but also for his expressive and aggressive nature as it helps him in performing better. In the words of the Indian pacer Mohammad Shami, if there is anyone who can match the energy levels of the fast bowlers then it is only Virat Kohli. Shami says that Kohli celebrates the dismissal of the batsmen more than the bowlers, adding that there have been instances when he has asked Virat whether it was his or Kohli’s wicket. Mohd. Shami also states that there have been times when Kohli has asked him why he is not celebrating and he tells the Indian skipper that he has already celebrated on his part.

Virat Kohli doesn’t hesitate from using curse words and in the modern times with hundreds of cameras focusing on the players, it has become impossible for the players to hide their emotions or what they say. Many times Virat Kohli has been found using a curse word which resembles with the lip sync of an England cricketer’s name.

Yes, you guessed it right! We are talking about the English cricketer Ben Stokes and his name once again figured on the social media networks when the former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer posted a meme. It won’t be wrong to say that Wasim Jaffer has become a Twitter sensation as he makes people laugh with his funny tweets and memes in regard to various issues related to cricket.

Recently, Wasim Jaffer reacted to a tweet which was made by Wisden India in which it asked Twitter users about a player whom they will like to see in the Indian test team if international transfers are allowed.

Wisden India tweeted, “If international transfers were allowed in cricket, which player would you have loved to see in the Indian Test team?”

Wasim Jaffer replies with a GIF in which Virat Kohli is seen celebrating a dismissal with his teammates and speaking the same Hindi expletive which resembles the lip sync of Ben Stokes’ name.

The Indian team will be playing the finals of the World Test Championship against New Zealand in Southampton, England, and after that, India will play a test series against England.

Do you agree with Wasim Jaffer’s choice or do you have any other cricketer in mind? Let us know your opinion.

Gujarat Officials Post Clip Of South Africa Lions & Say It’s From Gir, Twitter Made Them Apologise

The coastal states of India faced the wrath of the cyclone Tauktae recently and five states – Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Gujarat were the most affected. There was a huge loss of property, some lives were also lost due to this natural calamity and many people were concerned about the wildlife in these critical times too.

As many people were concerned about the wildlife, Dr. Rajiv Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary of Forest & Environment Department, Gujarat, posted a video on the micro-blogging site Twitter in which pride of lions was seen crossing the river that was surrounded by the tall Savannah grass. The tweet was later deleted but in that tweet, Dr. Rajiv Gupta wrote that the lions are absolutely safe after the cyclone Tauktae and the field staff has been monitoring their movement constantly.

Dr. Rajiv Gupta’s tweet was soon shared by Prakash Javadekar, the BJP politician who also handles the ministry of environment, forest and climate change. He showered praises on the Gujarat forest department for monitoring the lions on a constant basis.

Many people praised the Gujarat forest department for their prompt action and for being responsible even in these tough times but there were some who had an eye for detail and they soon caught the blunder which was made by Dr. Rajiv Gupta by posting the video. While some were doubtful that this video is from Gir, many were sure that the lions are not Asiatic and there were few who declared that the video is from the Mala Mala game reserve, South Africa.

The reality is that the video clip is from the Mala Mala Game Reserve which is the largest and the oldest game reserve of South Africa and it was shared in Feb 2021.

After this, Dr. Rajiv Gupta deleted the video posted by him earlier and also gave a clarification. He tweeted, “It is regretted that a wrong video was posted along with statement of Lion safety in Gir landscape. PCCF (Wild Life) Sh Shyamal Tikadar has apologized for his lapse & indiscretion. Inconvenience &confusion caused is sincerely regretted with an assurance for double caution in future.”

Later on, the Chief Conservator of Forests, Junagadh Wildlife Circle, DT Vasavada posted a video in which he stated that there is nothing to worry as all the lions of Gir-Brihadgir are safe and not even a single lion has gone missing after the cyclone Tauktae wreaked havoc in Gujarat.

The Gujarat Forest department also came into action soon and issued a letter as well as posted the photos of two lions wandering in their habitat.

The mistake was quite silly in view of the fact that they have such a big responsibility on their shoulders. What do you have to say in this regard? Let us know.

Telangana MLA Jokes Shashi Tharoor Has Named Unpronounceable Medicines, Shashi Tharoor Reacts

In the times of the coronavirus pandemic, we have learnt a number of things such as cooking, gardening and so on. It won’t be wrong to say that we have become more responsible towards our body and have started caring it in a better manner than we used to do earlier by increasing our immunity. The situation in the second wave has been quite serious and we have got to hear the names of many medicines and injections which are quite necessary for saving a COVID-19 positive patient.

The names of some medicines are very difficult to pronounce and one MLA from Telangana, K.T. Rama Rao brought up this issue on the micro-blogging site Twitter in a funny manner as he asked who has come up with unpronounceable names for the medicines.

KTR tweeted, “On a lighter note, any idea who comes up with this unpronounceable names for meds?- Posaconazole, Cresemba, Tocilzumab,  Remdesivir, Liposomal Amphoterecin, Flavipiravir, Molnupiravir, Baricitinib, And the list goes on…”

In his second tweet, KTR suggested in a funny manner that Congress politician and MP from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, may be behind naming these medicines. KTR tweeted, “I suspect @ShashiTharoor Ji Pakka has a role to play in this”.

Shashi Tharoor is known for his impeccable English vocabulary and it won’t be wrong to say that sometimes it is impossible to understand what he said or wrote without the help of dictionary.

Soon the tweet was noticed by the Congress leader and he made it clear that he is not behind the names of these medicines but in his own style as he wrote, “Not guilty! How can you indulge in such floccinaucinihilipilification, @KTRTRS? Left to me I’d happily call them “CoroNil”, “CoroZero”, & even “GoCoroNaGo!” But these pharmacists are more procrustean….”

Twitterati also expressed its thoughts and views and here are some of the selected reactions:
