UP Bride Calls Off Wedding Because Groom Failed Maths Test & Could Not Recite Table Of 2

There have been many instances in which the brides have refused to get married to the groom during the marriage ceremony because of various reasons. For example, when a bride was pulled forcefully by the groom’s friends for dancing, she got so aggravated that she denied tying the knot with the groom. In another instance, the bride refused to marry the groom as he was very drunk at that time while in one more case, the bride got upset when she saw the groom performing naagin dance and she denied marrying him.

Representational Image

Recently a bride from Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, refused to tie the knot with the groom as he was not able to recite the basic table of 2. All this happened just before the ritual of Varmala (exchange of garlands) when the bride asked the groom to recite the table of 2 but he failed in that and the bride walked out of the mandap, citing that she can’t marry someone who doesn’t even possess basic knowledge of Mathematics. Though people tried to convince the bride, she didn’t budge.

Vinod Kumar, the Panwari Station House Officer, stated that it was an arrange marriage but the bride was doubtful of the educational qualifications of the groom.

Cousin of the bride alleged that the groom’s family cheated them in regard to the education of the groom and he might not have even attended the school in his life. The cousin called the bride a brave girl and said that she called off her marriage without any fear of the society.

Representational Image

No police case was filed in this regard as both the parties decided to compromise on this matter and returned the gifts and jewelry to each other.

This bride definitely needs to be praised for the bold step that she has taken as not everyone has the courage to call off wedding at this stage. More power to you girl! We wish that she gets someone who deserves her soon!

BCCI Suspending IPL 2021 Indefinitely Sparks Twitter With A Hilarious Meme Fest

The biggest cricket extravaganza of the world, the IPL 2021 has been postponed indefinitely by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after COVID-19 breached the bio-bubble and some players and staff tested positive for the virus. Yesterday, two cricketers of Kolkata Knight Riders – Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were tested positive and after that, the former Indian cricketer and current bowling coach Lakshmipathy Balaji also tested positive.

Even after this, the board was in the mood of continuing the IPL 2021 and the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians was supposed to be played on May 4 but then the news of SRH player Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals player Amit Mishra testing COVID-19 positive compelled the board to take the big decision of postponing the tournament.

Earlier, the board was thinking of taking the whole IPL to Mumbai but as the cases increased, the board decided to postpone the league. BCCI issued a statement in which it announced that in an emergency meeting of BCCI and IPL governing council, the decision of postponing the IPL 2021 has been taken.

BCCI has also ensured that it will see all the players reach their homes safely to be with their loved ones. According to BCCI, it won’t compromise on the well-being and safety of the players, the staff members and everyone who is associated with the tournament. The board also added that it wanted to bring smile on the faces of everyone in these critical times but the need of the hour is that all and sundry return to their homes. In conclusion, BCCI thanked healthcare workers, franchises, sponsors and everyone who played a role in organizing the IPL 2021.

One section of Twitter users also used this as an opportunity to troll the fans of Royal Challengers Bangalore as the Bangalore franchise was playing pretty well this time. Though RCB is at the third position as of now with 5 wins and 2 defeats in 7 matches but there was a time when RCB was at the top spot. The skipper of RCB, Virat Kohli is trolled often for his failure in making his team win its first title as he has been with the franchise since the inaugural edition of 2008 and since 2013, he has been leading the team but couldn’t lift the IPL trophy even once.

Blooper Reel: 10 Video Marketing Mistakes To Avoid

Pexels. CCO Licensed.

Video marketing can be a very effective way to promote brand awareness and build customers. A report by Animoto found that video ads were the #1 way consumers discovered a brand they later purchased from. A survey by Wyzowl meanwhile found that 84% of people reported being convinced to buy a product or service by watching a brand’s video.

Like any form of marketing however, video marketing has to be executed properly for it to be effective. A badly produced video ad could in fact cause more harm to your brand than good, potentially driving customers away and costing you a lot of money to make in the process.

By avoiding a few common mistakes, you can ensure that your video ad is a success. Below are just 10 video marketing mistakes to avoid.

Low-quality production

The worst thing you can do is make a video that looks cheap and amateurish – as it will make your brand look cheap and amateurish too. Your video doesn’t have to be a Hollywood production. In fact, if you’re looking for a short video to post onto social media for your small local business, it could be something as simple as you sitting in your office and talking into the camera. However, video production quality has to be good either way.

A few low quality production indicators to avoid include:

  • Dim lighting
  • Shaky camera work
  • Low quality picture and audio
  • Bad editing and graphics

If you haven’t got any video-making skills, it could be a sensible option to hire professionals. This could be a professional live action video production company or an animator depending on the type of video you’re looking for.

If you’d prefer to do it yourself, make sure that you’ve got all the right tools. When shooting a live action video, such equipment should include a video camera, external microphones, lighting and video production software. If you’re looking to make something grand and stylish, you may want to invest in some cooler tech such as this DJI Air 2S drone to create some aerial shots. When it comes to creating an animation, make sure that you have high quality animation software.

No script

Whether you’re making a TV ad or a short announcement video to upload onto Facebook, it’s worth always scripting out your video advert. A video that is improvised is not only more likely to contain errors, but it may come across as rushed – which may suggest that you don’t put much care and attention into your brand.

Even if you’re producing a quick video tutorial on a product, it could be worth loosely scripting out what you plan to say so that all the important points are covered. For bigger video adverts, you may want to hire a script writer to help get your points across in the most snappy and engaging way.

Poor acting

Poor acting can be cringeworthy and sometimes unintentionally comical. It could make your advert stand out for all the wrong reasons – consumers may end up not taking your brand seriously and your reputation could suffer.

This is why it can be a good idea to hire professional actors if you’re going to be portraying characters in your video. Even when it comes to animations, hiring an actor to do a voice-over could be beneficial for making sure that the intonation is as convincing and gripping as possible. Don’t try to do any acting yourself unless you’re professionally trained. In fact, even if you are professionally trained, it’s probably not a good idea to play any characters if you’re the face of your brand.

Slow introduction

The first few seconds of your video are so important – particularly when publishing it online. If you want your video to be displayed as a Youtube Ad, you’ll literally only have five seconds to grip viewers before they can ‘skip’ it. When it comes to posting videos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, you have to grab people’s attention as they’re scrolling down, giving you even less time.

Make sure that the first few seconds count. This is known by video marketers as creating a ‘hook’. A few effective hooks include:

  • Starting with a question
  • Starting with an interesting fact
  • Starting with fast action (humans are hardwired to immediately notice things that are moving fast)
  • Starting with faces (a close-up of a facial expression can be a great way to grab people’s curiosity).
  • Beginning a story (this could include using the fairytale ‘once upon a time’ opener or introducing a character with a line such as ‘this is Jeff’).

Too long

If your video is too long, your audience will lose interest. Just how long is too long? It depends very much on the type of video.

If you’re creating a product tutorial for existing customers, you don’t want the video to be anywhere over 20 minutes (the ideal length is 3 to 6 minutes). If you’re creating an explainer video for outlining your product on your website, it should ideally be no more than 2 minutes (90 seconds is the sweet spot). If you’re making a video ad to be played on YouTube, social media or TV, it should ideally be no more than 30 seconds. In fact, with most ads, the shorter the better. Different platforms have different requirements for minimum length – YouTube ads need to be at least 12 seconds long while an Instagram ad could be as short as 3 seconds.

No captions

85% of Facebook videos are watched on mute. If you’re planning to publish your ad on Facebook and you don’t provide captions, you could fail to get your message across.

The likes of Facebook now have an automatic captioning tool, although it can sometimes be better to write out your own captions (this could minimize captioning mistakes). On top of making sure that everyday consumers can watch your video on mute, providing captions could make sure that deaf consumers are still able to absorb your videos.

Too much hard selling

If you’re creating a video advert, then the objective of the video is to convert customers. However, you should still avoid being too ‘salesy’ in tone. Studies show that hard selling is becoming increasingly less effective as a marketing tactic, in many cases putting people off.

More customers now prefer a ‘soft sell’ strategy when it comes to video content. Instead of listing off what your product can do or telling people to get in touch today, try a more indirect approach. This could include showing customers what your product can do instead of telling them. The story approach is one of the most popular ‘soft sell’ strategies – this could include telling the story of a customer solving a problem by using your product or the story of how your company came to be. Behind-the-scenes videos can also be popular in some industries.

Lack of brand consistency

The branding in your video needs to align with branding used in other forms of advertising. If there’s not brand consistency, customers may assume they’re two different products altogether.

Think about the color scheme and the tone of voice used within the rest of your branding and try to replicate this in your videos. For instance, if you tend to use lots of reds and yellows in your branding and you tend to use a warm and informal voice, make sure that this is also projected within your video.

No CTA

While you want to avoid being too ‘salesy’, your video still needs to have a clear CTA (Call-to-action). This is either audio or text telling your audience where to go to buy your product or find out more information. Without a clear CTA, customers won’t know where to go to follow-up if they are interested.

There are different ways to add a CTA to a video. You may be able to use a voiceover or text within the video itself telling people to visit your website or call a number. Alternatively, you may be able to use an ad overlay if you’re creating a Youtube ad. There may also be the option of putting information in text below or above the video. For example, you could post a video as a Tweet along with a URL to your site directing people where to buy your product. This guide at Convince and Convert offers a few more tips on using CTAs.

Lack of performance tracking

It’s essential that you track the performance of your videos. Without tracking performance data, you won’t know how successful your video has been. Such information could be important when launching future video campaigns as it could help you to focus your efforts in the right direction.

The likes of Facebook, Twitter and YouTube all offer analytics on who is interacting with your videos. You may discover that your video gets more interactions among a certain age group or that it converts more leads on a certain platform. This could allow you to create another campaign aimed at that particular age group on that particular platform to help maximize leads.

Manoj Tiwary Revealed Why He Joined Politics & Trinamool Congress Party

Cricketers turning into politicians in India is not a new trend as there have been quite a few examples when the Indian cricketers have tried their luck in politics and the most recent example is Manoj Tiwary. The Bengal cricketer fought elections on the ticket of Trinamool Congress and won from Shibpur constituency defeating Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate Rathin Chakraborty by more than 6K votes.

If we talk about Manoj Tiwary’s cricketing career, he has had a short international career in which he has played 12 ODIs and 3 T20Is for the country. He has played total 98 IPL matches for Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings (earlier Kings XI Punjab) and Rising Pune Supergiants (now defunct). Last time he played in the IPL, it was in 2018 for Punjab Kings and after that, he has not been able to find a buyer despite the fact that he performed decently in the domestic circuits.

During an interview with The Telegraph, Manoj Tiwary said that he got the offer from BJP also but he didn’t pay attention to them because after seeing the plight of migrant workers and the manner in which the central government handled the coronavirus pandemic, it would have been against his ideals to join BJP. Tiwary further added that BJP never fulfilled any promise and incidents such as people losing their lives on railway tracks left him devastated and made him not to respond to BJP’s call.

Manoj Tiwary also thanked the Trinamool Congress leader and chief minister Mamata Banerjee for calling him when he was recovering from knee injury because of which he wasn’t able to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Tiwary said that he had 4-5 months at disposal because of his injury which he thought of using in a constructive manner.

We wish all the best to Manoj Tiwary for his new innings.

David Warner’s Instagram Story After Being Sacked From SRH Captaincy Will Make Fans Emotional

The Hyderabad franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad is going through a very tough phase in the IPL 2021 as it has been able to register only one win in the seven matches that it has played and as a result, it is placed at the bottom of the points table. The continuous failure in the tournament compelled the management to take the big decision of changing the skipper and Kane Williamson was appointed as the skipper of the team in place of David Warner.

The Australian cricketer was also dropped from the playing XI in the match against Rajasthan Royals which SRH lost by 55 runs. The director of cricket of SRH, Tom Moody stated that though David Warner was shocked and disappointed, he came to the terms and understood the reason behind it along with what the team wants to achieve. As far as David Warner’s batting performance in the IPL 2021 is concerned, he has scored two half-centuries but his strike rate has been a matter of concern for the team management.

There are some speculations too as per which the team management didn’t like it when David Warner stated that dropping Manish Pandey was the decision of the selectors. However, nothing can be said with confirmation in regard to whether David Warner was having some problem with the management or not.

As the news of David Warner’s removal from captaincy spread, his fans started looking at his social media handles in order to find out how he would express himself in this critical phase. The Aussie batsman also took to his Instagram and posted two stories – in the first one, he shared the photo of the Hyderabad ground, the home ground of SRH, and stated that he is missing playing over there while in the second story, he thanked a fan for making his painting.

Here are the stories:

Kane Williamson Faces Wrath Of SRH Fans For His Mediocre Captaincy Against Rajasthan Royals

Sunrisers Hyderabad is having a forgettable IPL this year as the team is at the bottom of the points table with only 1 win and 6 defeats in the 7 matches that it has played. The IPL 2016 champion is finding it tough to reverse its fortunes even after making the big decision of changing its captain. The Australian batsman David Warner used to lead the team but in the match against Rajasthan Royals, SRH was led by Kane Williamson, the Kiwi cricketer.  It was quite surprising as the decision of changing the skipper in the middle of the tournament may backfire as well and David Warner has been performing decently with the bat.

There are speculations that David Warner was not happy with the dropping of Manish Pandey and the management got a little upset when Warner made the statement that Pandey had been dropped by the selectors. It may be a co-incidence that David Warner was removed from the post of the skipper just a couple of days after he made the statement.

The match was played yesterday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, and the fans of the franchise didn’t seem to be much impressed with the captaincy of Kane Williamson. The Kiwi cricketer won the toss and invited RR for batting first. However, the fans and the cricket lovers felt that Kane Williamson was not fully prepared to lead the team and he made some mistakes while taking tactical decisions.

SRH’s bowling was quite good in the first 11 overs and one of the main reasons behind it was that out of the 11 overs, 4 were bowled by the ace-spinner Rashid Khan. In the third over of the innings, Rashid Khan took the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal and in the same over, Kane Williamson took a DRS which went the other way. However, what hurt SRH the most was that in the next over of Rashid Khan, he got Jos Buttler lbw out and though the on-field umpire didn’t give him out, SRH also didn’t have the option of DRS as it wasted its chance earlier. Jos Buttler went on to make the best score of T20I career as he scored 124 runs for which he played 64 balls and his innings included 11 fours and 8 sixes.

Another mistake that the fans feel that Kane Williamson made is that by the 11th over of the innings, Rashid Khan had bowled all his four overs because of which he had to use Vijay Shankar and Mohammad Nabi in death overs and they gave away a lot of runs.

RR managed to put up a huge total of 220/3 on the scoreboard but SRH ended their innings at 165/8 in their 20 overs.

James Neesham Finally Breaks Silence On His Golden Duck Against CSK

The IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings which was played on May 1 was undoubtedly one of the most thrilling matches of the IPL history as it kept everyone on their toes until the last ball. Though the match was won by five times champions MI, it won’t be wrong to say that both the teams played like champions. Batting first, CSK gave a target of 219 runs to MI with the help of beautiful knocks of Faf du Plessis (50), Moeen Ali (58) and smashing knock of Ambati Rayudu (72).

It was Kieron Pollard’s blistering innings of 87 runs not out that sealed the victory for his team MI. Pollard faced only 34 deliveries and his innings included 6 fours and 8 sixes. Moreover, he was adjudged as the player of the match for his superb batting and bowling too as he took 2 wickets.

However after the match, the social media users are talking a lot about the new player of MI, James Neesham. The Kiwi cricketer was with Punjab Kings (earlier Kings XI Punjab) last year but he performed pretty badly in the IPL 2020 because of which the Punjab franchise released him ahead of the IPL 2021 auctions. In the match against CSK, James Neesham came to bat after the dismissal of Hardik Pandya and he faced the last delivery of the 19th over. On the very first ball, James Neesham tried to play big shot but got caught at long leg by Shardul Thakur on the bowling of Sam Curran.

Many online users were of the opinion that Neesham’s dismissal for a golden duck increased the pressure on the in-form batsman Kieron Pollard and some slammed Neesham also for his irresponsible shot.

Now the Kiwi cricketer has opened up on this issue and given a perfect reply to the trollers by tweeting, “Here’s the thing a lot of you don’t seem to understand: I would rather get a golden duck taking an option that gives my team the best chance of winning, than get a not out taking an option that preserves my personal record.”

MI is at the fourth spot in the points table with 4 wins and 3 defeats in the seven matches that it has played and after the win against CSK, it seems that the Mumbai franchise is getting its rhythm back.

Hopefully, all those who wanted to troll James Neesham would have got a good reply.
