Glenn Maxwell used to get trolled a lot for his poor performance until the IPL 2020 but in the IPL 2021, we are seeing him in a completely new avatar. Maxwell has played for many franchises till now and has been released by them because of his inconsistent performances. Ahead of the IPL 2021 auctions, Punjab Kings (earlier Kings XI Punjab) released him as he performed pretty poor in the last season of the league.
Despite his poor track record, many franchises were interested in buying him and Royal Challengers Bangalore had to pay a huge amount in order to get his services. However, Glenn Maxwell has proved himself to be a great purchase by playing some really good cricket. In the match against KKR, he played a great knock of 78 runs in 49 deliveries (9 fours & 3 sixers) and set the platform for a huge score.
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is also one of those former cricketers who have slammed Glenn Maxwell for his dismal performances in the IPL but now he is happy with the fact that the Aussie cricketer is playing true to his potential. Interestingly, Viru has also taken a dig at the franchises for whom Maxwell has played in previous seasons.
Sehwag who wanted the franchises not to bid for Glenn Maxwell in the IPL 2021 auctions wrote, “Good to see Maxwell finally play to his potential in this IPL. Meanwhile Maxwell to his previous team owners.”
Good to see Maxwell finally play to his potential in this IPL.
As far as the match between RCB and KKR is concerned, the former won the toss and decided to bat first at the pitch of MA Chidambaram Stadium. Though RCB lost Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar in quick succession, Glenn Maxwell was absolutely on other level and he rip apart the KKR bowling attack. After Maxwell, the former South African cricketer AB de Villiers wreaked a havoc on KKR by hitting 76 runs in just 34 balls and his innings included 9 fours and 3 sixes. RCB posted a huge total of 204/4 in their stipulated overs and chasing the target of 205, KKR managed only 166/8 in 20 overs. As a result, the Bangalore franchise tasted its straight third win in the tournament.
With 176 runs to his name, Glenn Maxwell now holds the Orange cap and it seems that RCB has a pretty good chance of winning their first IPL title this time. What do you say?
In the older days, the career of actresses used to get over after marriage but times have changed now and with the advent of OTT, the opportunities for the married actresses are also pretty good.
Geeta Basra Singh, the Bollywood actress, had a pretty short career before getting married to the Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh in 2015. The couple became parents to a beautiful baby girl in 2016 whom they named as Hinaya Heer Plaha and last month through their social media posts, they announced the pregnancy of Geeta. Recently, she gave an interview in which she talked about many things including the reasons because of which she quit Bollywood.
Geeta Basra Singh said that her mother was a working woman, she raised her pretty well and she is her inspiration. As per Geeta, she strongly feels that women should never give up on their passions. She further adds that the role of mother is certainly the most rewarding and satisfying role that she has played in her life and loved each and every moment spent with Hinaya.
Geeta added that it was her personal choice not to work in movies as she was enjoying the motherhood a lot, especially the special moments such as first walk, first laugh, first word she said, etc. She also said that she just wanted to ensure she is always there for Hinaya and she likes to enjoy whatever she does. Geeta also states that whenever the time is right and she is ready, she will definitely make a comeback in acting.
Because of the coronavirus lockdown, Harbhajan and Geeta spent a lot of time together and she revealed that her friends were cracking jokes by saying that finally they were living like a married couple. Presently, Bhajji is playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 as Chennai Super Kings released him ahead of the IPL 2021 auctions.
Sachin Tendulkar, the former Indian cricketer is undoubtedly the God of cricket for majority of the Indians and his fans love to know each and every thing about him as well as his family members. Sachin’s daughter Sara Tendulkar is also no less than a celebrity as she has a good number of followers (1.2 million) on Instagram. Some social media users also love her fashion sense and keep an eye on her dresses that she wears on various occasions.
Recently, Sara posted a story on her Instagram account with the caption, “@Bluetokaicoffee saves lives” and through this post, she wanted to convey that she loves to have coffee from Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters. While her fans gave her love, there was one hater who tried to troll the 23 years old girl by commenting that she is wasting her father’s money. Well, Sara was also not in the mood to stay silent and she gave a subtle but a perfect reply. Sara wrote, “Ummm… Any money spent on caffeine is money well spent, not wasted LOL (whoever’s it may be)”.
Here is the post:
What is more interesting is that the same online user also trolled Sara’s brother Arjun Tendulkar who has been purchased by Mumbai Indians for the price of Rs. 20 lakh. Some time back when Sara posted a photo of Arjun in which he was seen doing photoshoot for MI while wearing the jersey for the first time, the user made fun of him by commenting, “Least priced money”.
Arjun Tendulkar debuted for Mumbai in the Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament 2021 but he was not able to make much impact as in the two matches that he played, he picked two wickets only.
The excitement of the IPL 2021 is increasing day by day as the franchises are clashing against each other in the first round of the league. However, the franchises are leaving no chance of entertaining their fans on the social media networks as well and recently Rajasthan Royals posted a photoshopped image of its player Riyan Parag which went viral instantly.
The Rajasthan franchise photoshopped Parag’s photo and replaced his hairstyle with that of Sri Lankan cricketer Lasith Malinga. As soon as the pic was posted, social media users started calling him by different names such as Riyanlinga, Relinga, Rasith Paringa, Lasith Parag, etc.
RR captioned the image, “@mumbaiindians fans will say this is photoshopped.”
Lasith Malinga is one of the best pacers of the cricket world of all times and it won’t be wrong to say that he is certainly an icon who is a source of immense inspiration for many. Lasith Malinga has taken retirement now but in the IPL, he played for Mumbai Indians only and helped them a lot in winning the IPL titles multiple times.
Other than his superb bowling, Malinga was also known for his unusual bowling action (slinging) and his curly hair. While he was called Slinga Malinga due to his bowling action, he was also called King of Curls because of his curly hair. In those days, many youngsters tried to copy his hairstyle but now it has become a meme material and RR used it over one of his popular players Riyan Parag who plays for Assam in the domestic cricket.
As far as RR’s campaign in the IPL 2021 is concerned, it has played 2 matches and has won one and lost one. RR will be playing its third match against Chennai Super Kings on Monday.
On April 15, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the list of the players who have been awarded with the annual contracts by the board for the period of October 2020-September 2021. 28 Indian cricketers were awarded these contracts in four categories, the first one is A+ in which a player is paid Rs. 7 crore, the second is A category in which Rs. 5 crore is paid to a cricketer, players from the third category B are paid Rs. 3 crore and the fourth and the last is C category in which cricketers are paid Rs. 1 crore. The final decision in regard to these contracts is made by the President of the BCCI, secretary and the chief selector of the selection committee.
However, some cricket fans were left surprised after seeing that T. Natarajan who is known for his Yorkers was not awarded the annual contract. T. Natarajan made his debut during the Australian series and he became the only player to debut in all the formats in one tour in the recent past. Everyone expected him to make his way in the annual contracts list but he was not able to do that because he didn’t fulfill the eligibility criteria.
In order to get a central contract, a cricketer should have played at least 3 test matches or 8 ODIs or 10 T20Is in a season. However, T. Natarajan has represented India in only 1 test match, 2 ODIs and 4 T20Is because of which he missed the chance of getting the annual contract.
Well, the good thing is that if he plays the required number of matches by September 2021, then also he will be awarded with the annual contract but the money will be paid to him in proportionate basis.
Prithvi Shaw, another young Indian cricketer, also missed the chance of getting the annual contract by BCCI as he has played only one test match while Shubman Gill was awarded the contract as he represented India is 3 test matches.
As far as the A+ category is concerned, only three Indian cricketers come under this category and they are – the Indian team skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the list of the players who have been awarded with the annual contracts on April 15 and BCCI’s decision regarding one player has made the former English cricketer Michael Vaughan a little unhappy. Total 28 Indian cricketers have been awarded annual contracts in four categories: A+ (Rs. 7 crore), A (Rs. 5 crore), B (Rs. 3 crore) and C (Rs. 1 crore) for the period of October 2020 – September 2021.
Only three cricketers have been signed under the A+ category and they are – Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. Only those players are included in A+ category who play for the country regularly in all the three formats (test matches, ODIs and T20Is)
What made the former England skipper angry was the fact that the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was not included in the A+ category and he remained in the A category. As per Vaughan, it is a disgrace that Jadeja is not in the biggest bracket along with Virat Kohli.
Reacting to the tweet in this regard by a cricketing portal, Michael Vaughan wrote, “Disgrace … he should be on the biggest behind Virat …”
Ravindra Jadeja has been representing the Indian team in all the three formats for quite some time now but he was ruled out in later part of the Australian series due to the injury and he was also not able to play against England as well. He has now made a comeback on the field as he is playing for MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings.
Not just Michael Vaughan but the former chief selector MSK Prasad was also not able to understand as to why Ravindra Jadeja was not included in the A+ category. Prasad says that Jadeja is genuinely a candidate of the A+ category as he plays in all the three formats and has good ICC rankings as well.
Prasad further states that he can’t see any reason to not include Ravindra Jadeja in the A+ category. In fact as per Prasad, Rishabh Pant will also be included in A+ category, though he may not be regular now yet ignoring him will be difficult for the board.
On the other hand, Hardik Pandya has been promoted from Grade B to Grade A and the newcomers Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj have also made it to the Grade C.
What do you think could be the reason of not including Ravindra Jadeja in the A+ category? Let us know your views.
The world is facing the crisis of not only the coronavirus pandemic but also bizarre dishes which are being prepared by the food enthusiasts. While one chef comes up with Grape Pizza, another one tries to convince us that popcorn can still be crunchy even if it is mixed with vegetables, mayonnaise, sour cream and what not in the popcorn salad. Well frankly speaking, people may survive COVID-19 by following the safety guidelines but they just can’t save themselves from these weird dishes which are prepared by those who have the ability of thinking not only out of the box but out of the world as well.
Maggi is not just a food item but an emotion for many of us and nowadays a number of people are playing with our emotions (Maggi) by making unusual dishes with it. Today we are going to tell you about laddoos which are made by Maggi and surprisingly, they have both versions – sweet and spicy.
In the sweet version, the crushed jaggery is cooked with cardamom powder and butter in a pan, then crushed Maggi is mixed in it and round laddoos are made from it.
Here is the video which will spoil your mood if you are a Maggi lover:
In the spicy version, the boiled Maggi is mixed with capsicum, bread crumbs, oregano, cheese cube and chilli powder. The balls are made from the mixture, then it is put in the flour batter and later rolled in the crushed Maggi and ultimately it is fried.
There's Chinese dessert Darsaan made with sweet noodles. Made with honey. Adding icecream is optional. But needs unsalted noodles, so Maggie will not work.
