KL Rahul Praises Sanju Samson, Says “Bowling Against Him Is Difficult, Heart Rate Was High”

The whole India has been gripped by the IPL fever and yesterday’s match between Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings (earlier Kings XI Punjab) has further increased the excitement and guaranteed that the Indian cricket lovers will have a gala time till May 30.

Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings played their first match of the IPL 2021 yesterday at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. RR won the toss and decided to bowl first, however the batsmen of PBKS played superbly and posted a huge total of 221 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. The skipper of PBKS, KL Rahul was the highest scorer for his team as he made 91 runs in 50 balls (7 fours & 5 sixes) and the West Indian cricketer Chris Gayle scored 40 runs in 28 deliveries (4 fours & 2 sixes) but the highlight of PBKS batting was Deepak Hooda’s innings who completed his half-century in 20 balls, Hooda got out at 64 runs which he scored in 28 balls (4 fours & 6 sixes).

In response, RR had a bad start as their openers Ben Stokes got out for a duck while Manan Vohra was able to score 12 runs but it was the newly appointed skipper of RR, Sanju Samson who made everyone’s heartbeat faster with his destructive batting. Sanju Samson has become the first batsman to score a century on his captaincy debut as he scored 119 runs in 63 balls (12 fours & 7 sixes).

PBKS won the match by 4 runs as RR managed 217 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. There was a time when everyone felt that Sanju Samson would take his team home as the winner but it was beautiful bowling by Arshdeep Singh in the final over of the innings that made it impossible for RR to win the match. On the 5th ball of the 20th over, RR needed 5 runs to win but Sanju Samson refused a single to Chris Morris as he wanted to keep the strike and hit a six on the last ball of the match. Sanju played a good shot on the final ball but it went straight into the hands of Deepak Hooda and PBKS won the match.

KL Rahul opened up on yesterday’s match and he was full of praises for Sanju Samson. Rahul said that his heart rate was also high like others but he didn’t stop believing and he knew that the fall of couple of wickets would bring them back in the game. He added that till the 10-11 overs, his team bowled well and even though they dropped couple of easy catches, still they did pretty well as a bowling unit. KL Rahul added that it is really difficult to bowl against Sanju and they were not thinking of the last year’s match which had a thrilling finish as well.

Talking about Dinesh Hooda’s batting, Rahul said that his innings was just amazing and this is the type of batting that they want to see as a team. As per him, his team has a power line-up and they will love to bat without any fear and rip apart the opposition bowlers. RR will play its next match against Delhi Capitals on April 15 while PBKS will be playing their next match against Chennai Super Kings on April 16.

MS Dhoni Fined Rs 12 Lakh For This Reason After His Team CSK Lost First Match Against DC

MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings had a very disappointing IPL 2020 and each fan of the franchise was hoping to see their team make a strong comeback in the IPL 2021. But CSK had a bad start to the IPL 2021 as they lost their first match by seven wickets against Delhi Capitals. The match which was played yesterday at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium witnessed the comeback of CSK player Suresh Raina who scored 54 runs in 36 balls (3 fours & 4 sixes) and helped his team in posting a good total of 188 runs on the board. During the end of the innings, CSK batsman Sam Curran also played a useful innings of 34 runs for which he played 15 balls (4 fours & 2 sixes) but the target of 189 runs was not enough for DC.

The openers of Delhi Capitals, Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan played beautifully as they shared an opening partnership of 138 runs and made it easy for their team to win the match. While Shaw scored 72 runs in 38 balls (9 fours & 3 sixes), Shikhar Dhawan made 85 runs in 54 deliveries (10 fours & 2 sixes). DC achieved the target in 18.4 overs and won the match by seven wickets.

If this was not terrible enough for CSK, the skipper of the team MS Dhoni who was not able to open his account while batting was fined Rs. 12 lakh for the slow over rate of his team. As it was the first offence of CSK in the IPL 2021, the skipper was fined but if it happens a couple of times more, he may also get suspended for one or two matches. The new IPL rules about the over-rate are quite strict and a team has to bowl its 20 overs in 90 minutes.

The point that needs to be noted is that now the 20th over should also get bowled within the 90 minutes while earlier the 20th over should have started on or before the 90th minute. In simple words, a team has to ensure that it bowls 14.1 overs per hour. If a team is found guilty of slow over-rate second time, the skipper is fined Rs. 24 lakh and each team member is fined Rs. 6 lakh or 25 percent of the match fees whichever is less. If the same offence takes place the third time, the skipper has to pay Rs. 30 lakh as fine and he is also banned for one match while each team member has to pay Rs. 12 lakh or 50% of the match fees (whichever is less) as fine.

Well, this was the first match only and hopefully CSK will soon give their fans something to cheer about. What do you think?

“I Did Dhoom, Phir Hera Pheri, Hungama, Golmaal & I Had Role Of Furniture In All,” Says Rimi Sen

Rimi Sen, the Bengali beauty who sizzled on the big screen in 2000s, was missed by her fans when she decided to retire early but recently she talked about the choices that she made and also expressed her regret for not struggling enough.

Rimi Sen has worked as a child artist before getting the chance to appear as the lead actress in films. She acted in not only Hindi flicks but Bengali and Telugu movies as well and “Hungama” which got released in 2003 was her Bollywood debut movie. She worked in some big projects, such as “Dhoom”, “Garam Masala”, “Phir Hera Pheri”, “Golmaal: Fun Unlimited”, etc. but she soon retired and bid goodbye to the industry.

In an interview, Rimi has stated that she is not one of those who always want to be in limelight; in fact she is a simple person who has no wish of being in front of the camera. She also revealed that even in her school days, she was like a backbencher, adding that she gets uncomfortable if she gets attention.

Talking about the old days, she said that she wasn’t a mature person and she chose to go with the flow. She said that money was the only thing for which she was there in the industry and as she was not even a graduate, getting another job wouldn’t have been possible for her.

On the matter of working with the A-listers of the industry, Rimi Sen said that she wasn’t even worthy of what she got as she worked in some music videos before getting the big chance of working with Aamir Khan in an advertisement and then made her debut with “Hungama”. Rimi further said that most of the movies that she got were comedy such as “Dhoom”, “Phir Hera Pheri”, “Hungama” and “Golmaal” and added that she was just like furniture in them.  Rimi said that in those days, the film industry was dominated by males, not like the present times in which the content is the king.

Talking more about her career, Rimi stated that she also worked in movies like “Shagird” and “Johnny Gaddaar” but they bombed at box-office which further discouraged her. However now she feels that if she had struggled for 3-4 years more, things would have been different. As per her, her mistake was that she didn’t wait and refused to struggle but now she feels that she should have worked with other directors which must have helped her in getting successful. The “Baghban” actress further expresses her regret saying that now when she watches her movies after 10 years, she feels like she has achieved nothing.

She also opened up on how the film industry has changed over time and said that in those days when an actress used to cross 33 years of age, her career used to get over and she was restricted to only side-roles. She thought that the same would happen with her and she was not able to foresee the changes that have taken place now as actresses are getting chance to play some powerful roles, for example, Vidya Balan in “Kahaani”, Shefali Shah in “Delhi Crime”, etc. Rimi added that in her times, there used to be no script as director used to say that script was inside his mind.

Rimi Sen also took part in one of the most controversial reality shows of Indian television Bigg Boss in the year 2015. However, she used to think of it as a useless show and she signed it just for the sake of money as she was getting paid well. She added that she used to believe that in this show, people just shout and drink coffee and it is a sort of paid holiday but when she entered the show, she learnt that the makers play with the minds of the contestants in a big manner which is not shown on TV. What make the contestants lose their minds are the food restrictions, tasks which they have to perform in late hours and lots of other things. She said that she took Bigg Boss as a rehab for herself in which she used to do two things – wash utensils and meditate.

While concluding when she was asked what advice she would like to give to her younger self, she said that she would certainly advice to have some patience, struggle more and fight back. She added that she would tell her younger self to deal with people in a more effective manner as she used to be so honest that many producers avoided calling her for interview. In the end, she said that she is still honest but a little better now.

Which is your favourite Rimi Sen movie?
