Delhi High Court Makes Mask Compulsory Even For People Driving Alone, Twitter Reacts With Memes

The coronavirus pandemic has once again gone out of control as the second wave has hit the country in a more disastrous manner and the records are being broken in regard to the fresh positive cases which are getting registered. The only relief is that the vaccination drive is also going on in full swing but what is making the government worried is the fact that the citizens are not following the safety guidelines in a proper manner.

On 7th April, India registered 1,26,789 fresh COVID-19 positive cases which is the highest count since the start of the coronavirus pandemic while 685 people lost their lives. The situation in few states including Maharashtra, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, New Delhi, etc. is more problematic.

The best way to stop the spread of the lethal virus is to avoid going outdoors but we also have to earn our livelihoods and for this, many of us need to go out of house. In such a scenario, we should ensure that we wear mask, use sanitizer, maintain social distancing and wash hands regularly.

While we all know that wearing mask is an absolute necessity in today’s situation, still many people are not wearing mask while some people are also spotted putting their mask below nose or mouth. Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court has also given a judgment in regard to wearing mask which has made people upset.

Representational Image

Four petitions were filed for challenging a decision of the Delhi government as per which a person needs to wear mask even if he/she is travelling alone in the car. Justice Pratibha M Singh dismissed all the petitions citing that mask is a suraksha kavach and even if a person is sitting alone in a car, he should wear mask as a car is moving inside the city and going places which makes a moving car a public space.

This judgment did not go well with the online community and they expressed their annoyance by means of memes and jokes. Here are some of the selected reactions:

Woman’s Tweet On Fusion Dish Gulaab Jamun Cheesecake Sets Twitter On Fire

The coronavirus pandemic may have made our lives difficult as we were forced to remain inside our houses for the majority part of the year 2020 but it also made many of us discover the cook that was resting inside us. Fusion cooking is something which has gained pace in the recent past during the pandemic as people put an end to their curiosity by mixing two different dishes together and not only tasting them but also posting the pics on the social media networks. While some dishes looked so bad that people wanted to vomit at their sight, there were few dishes which appeared to be so good and tasty that even if we didn’t like the concept, many of us wanted to taste them at least once.

Representational Image

Gulab Jamun is certainly one of the most loved Indian deserts and we love to dig our teeth in the chashni soaked mava balls any time of the day. Well, there are some people who like to have gulab jamun mixed with vanilla flavoured ice-cream too but have you ever heard of mixing gulab jamun with cheesecake.

A Twitter user shared a photo in which gulab jamuns were seen sandwiched between the cake crust at the bottom and layer of cream at the top. It is obvious that this dish will be rich in sugar and fat but it will be a great treat for those who have a sweet tooth.

Soon Twitter users started reacting; while there were some who fell in love with the dish just with a look at it and wanted to know its taste, many felt awful after such treatment being meted out to the delicious gulab jamuns.

How To Make Your Marketing More Relevant

When was the last time you’ve received an email addressed to Dear Sir or Dear Madam? You probably don’t remember when it was or what the email said. There’s a good reason for that. Most of us disregard communication that isn’t personalised. If an organisation reaches out to you while using generic terms, it appears untrustworthy. More often than not, people ignore generic communication. It’s highly likely that the latest Dear Sir email you had landed in the spam box even before you tried to read it.

From a business perspective, no company can survive from generalised strategies and data. Unfortunately, it can be tricky to bridge the gap between impersonal data and the customers’ persona. Making your marketing interactions more relevant begins with the appreciation that your audience wants to feel understood, appreciated, and valued. You’d be surprised to know that the majority of buyers ignore discounted offers that are too generic. But they will be happy to seize the opportunity to use a less profitable offer if they feel it’s been specially made for them. So how can you make your marketing strategy relevant, relatable, and personable?

Don’t use pre-built data reporting

As much as every marketer knows the importance of data, it can be tricky to make sense of your data reports. As a rule of thumb, the average marketing team uses approximately 35 to 50 different marketing tools that collect and analyse data. Needless to say, it’s a lot of information that ends up scattered across multiple reporting dashboards. It’s easy to lose track of what matters when you need to combine multiple data sources to gain a full picture. Therefore, it’s in the interest of every marketing professional to create your own dashboard where you can bring together data from different sources. Not only can you tailor it to highlight the most meaningful information for your business, but you can also reduce time waste and data confusion. Tailoring the report allows you to gain a full understanding of who your customers are and how they interact with your brand. As a result, your team is equipped with the information they need to create personable communication.

Don’t be afraid to mix your channels

When it comes to marketing activities, a lot of companies draw a strict line between each channel, keeping online and offline activities apart. However, the more you envisage your marketing in terms of isolated channels, the more your customers find it hard to identify with your brand. Indeed, we all seamlessly combine online and offline in our day-to-day lives. Shoppers who are in a rush, for instance, prefer to order from an app and pick up their items from a physical shop. Using a mobile app for your store bridges the gap between digital and IRL and saves your customers a lot of time and hassles. Augmented reality is also blurring out the boundaries, bringing digital data into real life, such as furniture hero IKEA has been doing by enabling customers to visualise AR items into their homes. The bottom line: People are comfortable with mixing offline and online every day. Your marketing strategy can only be relatable if it follows the same principle.

Read the comments

There is no denying that social media can be a controversial place. A lot of users agree that reading social media comments is a painful experience that can have serious consequences on their mental health. However, as a company, you cannot afford to ignore social media comments. These could make or break your business so it’s always helpful to know what people think of your brand. As a rule of thumb, it takes approximately 40 positive customer experiences to undo the damages of a single negative review. In other words, when customers leave a negative comment on your social media profile, your priority is to reach out and understand what triggered it. Comments can offer insights into your customers’ mindsets, their expectations, and their struggles. As you learn to engage, you can also use the information to improve the offering and customer experience, building your marketing strategy around social media feedback.

Work with your customer service team

The customer service team works closely with your customers. They are the first in line to receive complaints and queries. Therefore, call centres and experienced customer service professionals are the best source of information for all customer-related matters. They can help identify recurring issues with your products and communication. They provide valuable insights into customers’ expectations and problems. There’s a lot your marketing team can learn from the customer service backlog.

Make it more playful

Should marketing always be a serious business? While you do need a professional approach, that doesn’t mean that you can’t design playful marketing campaigns. Studies show that customers tend to react more positively with playful messages that make them laugh. Indeed, life can be stressful, and most people welcome a fun message. Playful marketing is instantly relatable and beneficial as it can associate your brand with positive thoughts. Funny marketing advertising is more attention-grabbing and also more effective in building a real connection. Ideally, you want to strike the balance between funny, memorable, and on-brand to drive sales and boost the brand reputation.

Diversify your channels

As mentioned above, you should strive to mix online and offline channels to imitate real-life interactions. But it’s also essential to experiment with diverse marketing channels. The days where Facebook and Twitter were the only big players in the social media world are long gone. Nowadays, your customers could be using Discord, Twitch, TikTok, Reddit, and even Forpose (an Indian social networking app that is set to launch in 2021). Being visible where your audience is helps keep the brand relevant to a variety of customer personas.

Don’t fear mistakes

Mistakes happen to everyone. Businesses do sometimes get their messaging wrong or accidentally mess their timing. Yet, customers are more likely to forgive errors if the company is willing to take responsibility. Getting things wrong could turn into a fantastic PR boost if you make it up to your audience. A brand that makes mistakes, apologises, and learns from it is more relatable than ever.

In conclusion, marketing is the art of making corporation speeches and intentions relevant, relatable and personable to your audience. Companies need to be able to connect with their customers and build a trustworthy relationship through their marketing activities. As such, it is essential to nurture data insights, playfulness, channel diversity, and honest interactions.

“Had Maxwell Done Well In IPL, He Would Not Have Played For So Many Franchises,” Says Gambhir

The IPL 2021 is all set to start from tomorrow (April 9) with Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians clashing in the first match of the tournament. Virat Kohli led RCB has not won an IPL title till now but this time, they will certainly look forward to change their fortunes as they have spent a good amount in the IPL 2021 auctions and purchased some big players.

One player for whom RCB has spent a huge amount of Rs. 14.25 crore is Glenn Maxwell. The Australian cricketer made his debut in the IPL in the year 2012 and this is the fourth IPL franchise for whom Maxwell is going to play in the tournament. Well, only time will tell whether he will prove to be of any help for RCB in winning the IPL 2021 trophy.

The former Indian cricketer turned politician Gautam Gambhir has slammed the Aussie cricketer for his inconsistency as he feels that if Glenn Maxwell had performed batter in the IPL, he wouldn’t have played for so many franchises. During an interview, Gautam Gambhir says that Maxwell has played for so many franchises because he has never been consistent in his performances. He adds that there is no base in excuses like he was not provided the freedom by previous teams because when he played for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), he had all the freedom.

Gautam Gambhir further says that most of the teams and coaches think that Glenn Maxwell has the X-factor because of which they try to give him the best platform to perform but what is really sad is that Maxwell has failed all the times excluding the IPL 2014 when he played for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), scored 552 runs in the tournament and helped his team reach the finals.

Gautam Gambhir is of the opinion that if Maxwell had really played well, no franchise would have released him and he gives the example of Andre Russell to prove his statement. Gambhir states that one should just take a look at what Andre Russell has done for Kolkata Knight Riders and the time that he has spent with the KKR squad. If we talk about Andre Russell, he has been associated with KKR since 2014 which is certainly a big amount of time till now.

Talking about Glenn Maxwell, he started his IPL journey with Delhi Capitals in 2012 and scored only 6 runs in 2 matches for the franchise. In 2013, MI purchased Maxwell but they also released him soon after he scored only 36 runs in 3 matches. In 2014, Maxwell was signed by Punjab Kings and he played for them till 2017 while in 2018, Maxwell was again signed by Delhi Capitals but they also released him after he performed miserably in one season. In the IPL 2020, Punjab Kings once again signed him but again he disappointed everyone since he scored only 108 runs in the 13 matches that he played and he was not able to hit even one six in the whole league.

Let’s see what Glenn Maxwell will do for RCB!

Bitcoin vs Litecoin – Which Is Better For Retail Investors?

Introduction

King Alyattes is credited with creating the first known currency in Lydia, now in Turkey, in 600BC. Currencies have always been physical and controlled and monitored by centralised authorities, until now!

Based on blockchain technology, cryptocurrency is decentralised digital money. You can use this to buy goods or services which use cryptography for their security, making it impossible to counterfeit. For many, bitcoin has been synonymous with cryptocurrency. However, there are more than 5,000 cryptocurrencies in existence today.

What is Bitcoin?

Bitcoin, also abbreviated as BTC, is a virtual currency that arrived on the scene in January 2009, but the true identity of the person who created the bitcoin still remains unknown. It is powered by the open-source code known as Blockchain technology.

Here are some ways in which you can buy bitcoin.

  1. Buying bitcoin on an exchange

Many crypto exchanges exist where people buy and sell bitcoins. Platforms like Coinswitch allow you to trade in cryptocurrencies.

  1. Transfer

This is similar to digitally sending cash to someone. People can send each other bitcoins via their computers or mobile apps.

  1. Mining

Do you like solving extremely complex math puzzles? That’s what bitcoin miners do. They use the power of their computers to mine coins. Today, you need extremely powerful computer systems to mine a single coin.

Once you have a bitcoin, you can store it in your bitcoin wallet, which is like a virtual bank that allows you to send and receive bitcoins. One of the best parts about bitcoins is that the identity of the owner of the bitcoin stays anonymous even though each bitcoin transaction is recorded in public logs that are guarded by a private key that can be used for buying or selling.

Tesla, one of the major automakers of the world, headed by Elon Musk, recently announced that people could now buy Tesla cars using their bitcoins. Just like he revolutionised our outlook towards electric cars, he has now taken another leap towards the future, becoming one of the few automakers who have started accepting bitcoin as payment.

Pros

  • There is unlimited growth potential in this virtual currency.
  • You can perform private and secure transactions at any time.
  • The transaction fee is lesser than what is charged by the traditional monetary systems.

Cons

  • It is now backed by any government or central bank.
  • Bitcoins have limited use for now.
  • Bitcoins are decentralised, and no government or central bank has control over it.
  • It uses the longstanding SHA-256 algorithm.

What is Litecoin?

Founded in October 2011 by Charles ‘Charlie’ Lee, which is two years after bitcoin, litecoin has been one of its main competitors. Litecoin is also a cryptocurrency that is based on an open-source global network that is used for payments. It uses Scrypt language, which was also developed by Lee to make large scale attacks on the currency even more difficult. Litecoin is based on Scrypt. You can also trade Litecoin on many crypto exchanges. If you convert 1 litecoin to INR, the value comes down to INR 13,213.

Pros

  • The transaction speed of litecoin is faster than bitcoin.
  • It works on the newer algorithm called Scrypt.
  • Experts believe that since litecoin has a quicker block time, this suggests that it can handle more capacity than bitcoin.
  • Less vulnerable to hacking attempts.

Cons

  • Requires a lot of RAM.
  • There are a lot of other competing altcoins that offer similar benefits.

Which is a Better Investment?

1 Bitcoin = 0.0034 Litecoins

As of March 2021, while litecoin is valued at $13.7 billion, bitcoin is valued at $1 trillion.

Although not many digital currencies have been able to rise in the shadows of bitcoin, also because of the given crowded field making it increasingly difficult, litecoin has silently stood up to the competition.

Given the low price point, for someone who does not have their pockets full or brimming with money, litecoin would be a better choice of investment. The user can easily be tempted to try a small amount and keep an eye on the results. It might even skyrocket and see exponential growth just like bitcoin, for which you might thank yourself later.

Bitcoin, on the other hand, is very expensive to purchase. With values touching sky high figures and something that only the affluent could afford, it is out of reach for the regular people. This could be a good investment for people who understand the market very well and truly understand cryptocurrency. Only after seeing the potential in this virtual currency would someone be interested in buying the currency, which is hovering around its all-time highest price.

Disclaimer: Anything expressed here directly or indirectly is not investment advice. We ask you to do your own research before investing.

Can Digital And Physical Marketing Be Mixed?

Cover Image Pexels. CCO Licensed.

The last couple years have seen marketing divided into two forms: digital and physical. Digital marketing involves using websites, apps, social media, online ads, emails and tricks like SEO. Physical marketing typically involves using events, posters, flyers, business cards, radio, newspapers and signs.

They’re often seen as two very different forms of marketing, but in recent years marketers have been finding ways to mix the two. Technology is now starting to become more integrated with everyday life and it makes sense to merge the two in order to convert more customers. Below are just a few ways to mix digital and physical marketing.

Digitally broadcast physical events

Physical events such as trade shows, conferences and launch parties can now be brought to a wider audience thanks to the internet. This could be a way of encouraging more people to attend the event – for instance, you could post some pictures or videos up on social media of a local trade show to get customers to come along to your stall. Alternatively, it may be a way of connecting to consumers who can’t travel to the event – for instance, you may be able to live stream a demonstration of a new product at a conference to get people more excited.

Create an app for your physical store

You could consider creating a customer app that encourages more people to use your physical store. Many companies have taken the traditional idea of a loyalty card and turned it into an app that can be scanned in-store to collect points. These points can eventually be spent, allowing customers to get discounts or freebies. If you also have an online store, you could also make it possible for customers to use points gained in store via the app on your site. Other options for a customer app could include a menu app in a restaurant that customers can order from or a AR app that allows customers to virtually try on glasses or clothes (such apps are thought to be popular within the next couple decades thanks to the arrival of 5G). An app developer can help you to build an app

Use QR codes to attract website visitors

QR codes are coded patterns that can be printed on business cards, flyers and posters. You can link these codes to your customer website so that when a customer scans them with their smartphone they can access your site on your phone. Scanning a QR code is easier than manually entering a website URL, allowing you to convert more website visitors using print media. You can also track visitors from QR codes to see how people are stumbling across your website. A QR code generator can be used to help you create a code for your site. Many of these generators are free to use.

Convert customers in-person with a tablet

Tablets can be a great tool for converting more customers. You can employ a representative at an event or within your store to approach customers with a tablet and place online orders. You could alternatively get customers to sign up to your mailing list or even get people to follow you on social media (competitions can sometimes be a fun way of encouraging mailing list sign-ups and followers).

This Himachal Pradesh Village Receives Snowfall, Beautiful Pics Will Make You Want To Visit It

The weather is changing all over the country as it is the time for the summers to start but if we go by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the coming time will be tougher for us to pass. Recently, the IMD declared that March 2021 was the third warmest in the last 121 years which means that the weather will get hotter only from here. In fact in many parts of the country, the temperature has already crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark which can be taken as a warning for the future.

However while we are getting soaked in sweat in the hot climate, a village in Himachal Pradesh experienced fresh snowfall today morning. The name of the village is Jubling village which is in the Lahaul-Spiti district of the state and the village got snow clad after there was a disruption in the vehicular movement of the area.

Here are the pics that will make you want to go there as soon as possible to play in snow:
