The Indian Premier League (IPL) is certainly one of the most awaited and most watched sporting events of the world but there are times when some former cricketers have slammed the league for spoiling the game of cricket. There is no denying the fact that IPL is a cash-rich league and this is why it is being said that many cricketers prefer to play IPL rather than for their own country as the former is more rewarding.
Now Eoin Morgan, the England cricketer who leads the team in the shorter format, has opened up on IPL. He accepted that the England players got benefitted a lot by playing in IPL and it also helped them to a great extent in winning the ICC World Cup 2019.
Eoin Morgan who is presently in India leading his team in the five match T20I series says that he and rhw England players are thankful for the improvement that has come in their game after playing in IPL. He feels that the England cricketers should continue playing the biggest T20 tournament of the world especially because two T20 World Cups are just around the corner.
While speaking in a virtual press conference, the 34 years old skipper says that the players get benefitted a lot by playing with the best in the world and they also undergo the pressure of being an overseas player in the tournament which further develops them as a player. He calls the experience of playing in IPL as priceless in many ways.
Eoin Morgan is one of the best batsmen of the world as he has scored 7598 runs in 242 ODIs with the average of 39.6 and in 98 T20Is, he has scored 2278 runs with an average of 30.4. As far as IPL is concerned, he has played 66 matches and has scored 1272 runs with the strike rate of 126.3. Eoin Morgan is the skipper of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders and hopefully we will see him in IPL 2021 which is going to start from 9th April.

The England cricket team started the 5 match T20I series against India by winning the first match by 8 wickets and took the lead by 1-0. In the match which was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, the visitors won the toss and decided to bowl first. The England bowlers performed superbly and restricted the Indian team to 124/7 in the stipulated 20 overs, Shreyas Iyer being the highest Indian team scorer with 67 runs. The England team comfortably won the match as they achieved the target with 8 wickets in hand and 27 balls remaining in their innings.
As there are still four matches remaining in the T20I series, the Indian team may make a comeback but their one of the biggest concerns is repeated failure of the Indian skipper Virat Kohli who once again got out on duck in the first T20I match. Virat played five balls and gave his catch to Chris Jordan on the bowling of Adil Rashid.
The former England cricketer Michael Vaughan has now opened up on the matter of Virat Kohli’s batting and he is of the opinion that if the Indian team has to win the T20 World Cup, the Indian skipper has to behave a little selfish. Vaughan says that Virat should give himself some time on the crease initially in order to set in. He adds that Kohli should give himself 10 deliveries even if he leaves 3-4 balls, a couple of boundaries and he will be back to be the same Virat Kohli who we all know.
While talking to a cricketing portal, Michael Vaughan states that he is not worried in regard to the form of Virat Kohli as he doesn’t seem out of form as far as his movements are concerned but there is something going in his mind which is not correct but he just needs 10-15 balls and he will get his rhythm back. Vaughan adds that there is no need for Virat to take many risks when he goes to bat.
Let’s see whether the Indian side will be able to make a comeback in the series by winning the second match or the England team will make their position stronger with victory in the second match as well.

The India-England T20I series started yesterday and England may have lost the four match test series by 3-1 but they started the 5 match T20I series on a positive note by winning the first T20I by 8 wickets. The match was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, and the toss was won by the visitors who decided to bowl first. The England bowlers proved the decision of bowling first absolutely correct by sending the Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul back to the dressing room at the score of 4 and 1, respectively.
If we talk about the Indian batting, only Shreyas Iyer was able to make an impact as he scored 67 runs in 48 deliveries including 8 fours and one six. Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya scored 21 and 19 runs, respectively and no other Indian batsman was even able to reach the two digit mark. Eventually, the Indian team managed only 124/7 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. While the Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma was rested for this match, the Indian skipper Virat Kohli performed miserably as he was out for duck. Virat played five balls and got out after Chris Jordan took his catch on the bowling of Adil Rashid.
The Indian Twitterati was not happy with the performance of Virat Kohli and Uttarakhand Police also used this as an opportunity to educate people about sensible driving but meanwhile they took a dig at the Indian skipper too.
In a tweet that featured Virat Kohli while he was returning to the dressing room, the official Twitter handle of the Uttarakhand Police wrote in Hindi that it is not enough to wear helmet, a person has to drive in his senses otherwise he can also get out at zero like Virat Kohli.

As far as the match is concerned, the England batsmen achieved the target when 27 balls were remaining and they had 8 wickets in hands. England batsman Jason Roy was quite unlucky as he missed his half-century just by 1 run while Jofra Archer was adjudged as the player of the match for his superb bowling; he took 3 wickets and gave only 23 runs in his 4 overs.
After the match, Virat Kohli praised Shreyas Iyer and said that other than Iyer, the Indian batsmen didn’t give much time in understanding the conditions and as wickets fell quickly, it became difficult to reach 150-160. He also says that when a batsman has played a good amount of international cricket, he will certainly have good and bad phases and he has to accept them all. He says that for him, it is always about being positive while playing cricket and talking about the problem of shifting gears from test cricket to T20I. He further adds that it is not difficult to get accustomed as per the format as they have done in the past as well.
The second T20I will be played tomorrow (14th March) at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Guramrit Singh states that he will first talk to his teachers before applying for April or May sessions. He adds that he is presently focusing on the Advanced and CBSE exams and another try in the JEE Mains will help in getting ready for the further challenges.
A leading daily quoted him saying that he will like to pursue computer science engineering from IIT-Bombay or IIT-Delhi. He also states that JEE Mains help in preparing for the board examination subjects – maths, chemistry and physics and for other subjects such as English and Physical education, he has two months to prepare.
As soon as this news got public, the Indian Twitterati reacted in a quite funny manner as there are many who are not even able to score good, leave aside scoring 100 percentile.

Sometimes we get to see or find out about such incidents which seem to be based on the story of movies and one such incident took place in Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur. A complaint of robbery was filed on February 24 by a transplant doctor Dr. Sumit Soni in which he stated that boxes containing 400 kg silver had been stolen from his house. What makes it more interesting is that these boxes were buried in ground, floor was constructed over it with tiles and there was long tunnel in his basement.

As police started the investigation, it was found that the doctor’s neighbouring house was purchased in the month of January by the thieves for Rs. 90 lakhs and it was on February 12 that they started making the tunnel. A 20-feet long tunnel was dug by the thieves after which they cut the boxes and stole sliver slabs and jewelry that may value in crores.
Police was quite sure that there is someone close involved in this heist and as the investigation proceeded, it was found that the neighbouring house which was purchased by the thieves was originally of a jeweler Shekhar Agarwal based in Jaipur and he is the same person who advised the doctor to make huge investment in silver.

The robbers were also introduced to the doctor by Shekhar and even more interestingly, these robbers used to work as labourers in the farm-house of the doctor in the daytime. Police has taken 8 people into custody till now; some of them were caught in their native villages of Madhopur and Tonk.
Police is still investigating the case and several more arrests may take place.

Jasprit Bumrah, the young Indian pacer who has become an integral part of the Indian team is not going to play the 5 match T20 series and 3 match ODI series against England as he has made himself unavailable for the selection. Before the last test match of the 4 match test series, a statement was issued by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that Jasprit Bumrah opted out of the series because of some personal reasons. Later an official of the board has confirmed that the Indian pacer is all set to get married and he wants time to help in arrangements of the D-day.
Neither the BCCI nor Jasprit Bumrah has officially confirmed the news of marriage but it is being said that Bumrah will tie the knot on 14-15 March in Goa in a very private affair. There are some speculations regarding the bride as well; while earlier the name of south Indian actress Anupama Parameswaran was doing rounds, now it is being said that Jasprit will get hitched to Sanjana Ganesan, the former Miss India 2014 who was also seen in dating reality show MTV Splitsvilla 7. Presently, she is working as a cricket presenter with the sports channel Star Sports and is also said to be working for the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders.
As Sanjana Ganesan’s name came into light, cricket fans started gathering information about her in order to know her better and in this process, an old tweet of Sanjana that involves Jasprit Bumrah got noticed by Twitterati.

Michael Vaughan, the former England cricketer, is known for his statements against the Indian team and he was certainly very unhappy when India defeated England in the four match test series by 3-1. Michael Vaughan made no stone unturned in declaring that the Indian pitches, especially for the second, third and fourth test matches, were not suitable for a five day match.
The former England cricketer is once again making news but this time he has targeted an England cricketer and that concerned player has also responded in quite a strong manner. Michael Vaughan along with some other former England cricketers targeted the England pacer Jofra Archer for his poor form and commitment.
Archer has not been able to make any impact in the longest format since 2019 and in the India-England series also, he could not make his presence felt much. In the first test match against India which was won by England, Jofra Archer took three wickets but then, he missed next two test matches because of his elbow injury. He played in the last and fourth test match and was able to take only one wicket as the spinners completely dominated the game.
The England pacer responded to the criticism in a column written for a leading daily. He expresses his anger on the fact that a player starts getting criticised and his commitment is questioned as soon as he is not at his 110 percent. Jofra writes that he read an article by Michael Vaughan that he (Archer) doesn’t like test cricket and England needs to find out the reason behind it. Archer further writes that he has never talked about cricket with Michael Vaughan so he finds it a little odd as the former England cricketer has no idea what ticks him or what drives him (Archer).
Jofra Archer goes on to write that there is no change in his attitude towards playing for England and he again repeats that he wishes to play in all the three formats. He adds that he has always dreamed of playing the purest form of game and he doesn’t feel that he is playing bad but people get doubtful of him if he is not able take four or five wickets in an innings.
According to Jofra Archer, everyone has to make a start somewhere and he is still new to test cricket. He writes that he is trying to make his place in the England set-up just like the two great England bowlers – James Anderson and Stuart Broad. He also writes that he is happy with his performance in bowling with an average of 31 as he knows that he can improve as he plays.
