ICC Posts A Hilarious Tweet As An Uninvited Guest Comes At Galle During England Vs Sri Lanka

The England cricket team is presently in Sri Lanka but it will be facing the Indian cricket team soon in the 4 test matches, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is. While the Indians are high on confidence after defeating the Australians in their home, the England cricket team will also be pretty confident post whitewashing the test series against Sri Lanka in their home by 2-0.

However, a strange incident took place in the second test match which was played at Galle International Stadium. Till now, we have seen dog, birds, etc. wandering on the field because of which sometimes the match has to be halted but in the second test match between England and Sri Lanka, a monitor lizard was noticed by cameraman on the boundary.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) also took a note of it and made a funny tweet in which it wrote that the council is reviewing reports of the Sri Lankan team using an extra fielder in the second test match.

The official Twitter handle of ICC posted the photo of monitor lizard with the caption, “The ICC is reviewing reports that Sri Lanka used an extra fielder against England in Galle today. The situation will be ‘monitored’.”

Shikhar Dhawan Created Trouble For Boatman As He Shared Pics Of Feeding Birds Amid Bird Flu

The Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan is one of the best openers in the limited overs format but recently he found himself in the center of controversy during his visit to the Varanasi city. Recently he took to Instagram to share some photos in which he was seen taking a boat ride in the river Ganga during which he was feeding birds.

As Shikhar Dhawan shared the post, it went viral for all the wrong reasons and soon it came in the notice of Kaushal Raj Sharma, the District Magistrate of Varanasi. While talking to a news portal, DM Varanasi promises that an action will be taken against the boatman once he is identified because the tourists are usually unaware of these things but the boatmen have been given instructions by the administration and policemen that they should not allow the tourists to feed the birds. DM Varanasi says that the boatman will be served notice and he will also need to tell why his license should not be cancelled; however, the tourists need not worry about anything.

Shikhar Dhawan was not a part of the Indian test team but he played an important role in India’s win in 3-match T20I series. He returned India after the limited over series got over but there were many fans who felt that he should have been included in the test squad considering the fact that Virat Kohli was scheduled to return after the first test match and Rohit Sharma was also not fit at that time.

As of now, India is getting ready for the England team against whom they will play 3-match ODI series, 5-match T20I series and 4-match test series at home starting Feb 5.

Tim Paine Again Got Trolled On Twitter For Carrying Water For Batsmen In A BBL Match

The Australian cricket team is going through a tough phase as they are getting slammed badly after losing the 4-match test series against India by 2-1. What is making their fans angrier is the fact that Australia lost the fourth test match which was played at Gabba, Brisbane, where they hadn’t lost any test match since 1988.

Things are more difficult for the Aussie skipper Tim Paine as it was under his leadership that Australia lost the test series and he also became the only Australian skipper to lose two test series against India at home while in 2018-19, he was the first Aussie skipper to lose a test series against India at home. Tim Paine was slammed for not only his wrong decisions and poor wicket-keeping but also his bad behaviour which he displayed in the Sydney test match when he engaged in a verbal duel with Ravichandran Ashwin and also used an abusive word for him. He was further trolled for his “See you at Gabba mate” comment after India defeated Australia at Gabba, Brisbane, and won the series too. Not just the Indian cricket fans but R Ashwin and his wife Prithi Ashwin also did not miss the chance of taking a dig at Tim Paine.

Tim Paine again got trolled when he was seen fulfilling the duty of water boy for his team Hobart Hurricanes during the Big Bash League. Tim Paine joined his BBL team after the test series but didn’t get a berth in the playing XI and on Sunday during a match, he was seen carrying water for the batsmen of his team. This was more than enough for the social media users to pull his leg once again.

It all started after the official Twitter handle of Hobart Hurricanes posted a tweet with the photo of Tim Paine carrying drinking water and captioned it, “Australian Test Captain Water Boy” with tick marks.

Soon, Twitter outpoured with trolling tweets and while many were confused as to how the Aussie skipper didn’t find place in the playing XI, there were few who were taking a dig at Tim Paine by saying that he also dropped water. Some users also lashed out at Hobart Hurricanes for making fun of the skipper of a country on social media.

“I Felt Heat Each Day But I Segregated From Social Media & Focused On Game,” Says Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is getting a lot of praises after the recently concluded four match test series against Australia which India won by 2-1. Rishabh Pant played an important role in India’s victory as he scored 274 runs in the three test matches that he played which also made him the 3rd highest scorer of the series. Pant played a beautiful innings of 97 runs in the Sydney test match while in the Brisbane test match, he scored 89 runs not out and made sure that he remained on the pitch till his team won the match.

However, the 23 years old cricketer has faced a lot of criticism in his short career as during the IPL 2020 also, he was trolled for his poor wicket-keeping as well as his weight. He didn’t get the chance to show his talent in the limited over formats against Australia and despite hitting a century in a practice match, he was not included in the Indian squad for the Adelaide test match. But when Pant got the chance to prove himself, he made proper use of the opportunity and at the moment, even his critics are calling him a talented cricketer.

Recently, Rishabh Pant gave an interview in which he talked about how he did not let the criticism affect him in a negative manner and kept working hard. He said that he was feeling the heat each day but it is a part of the game and he just ensures that he doesn’t stop believing in himself. He added that he was fortunate enough that there were few people with him who kept him telling that he should believe in himself and keep working hard.

Pant further stated that during the tough times, he understood one thing that if you are moving forward, it means you are improving. He also revealed that he focused so much on his game that he was not able to notice other things but as it was almost impossible to ignore all the noise which was created on the social media, he distanced himself from it.

There is no denying the fact that Rishabh Pant has been trolled a lot and it has happened more with him because he has replaced former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni behind the wickets and Mahi has undoubtedly been one of the best wicket-keepers and a great batsman as well.

Greg Chappell Lauds Team India, “They Are Capable Of Producing Best Five Teams In World Cricket”

The Australian cricket team and the management have some serious brainstorming to do after losing the test series to India by 2-1, especially the fourth test match which they lost at Gabba, Brisbane, where they were invincible for the last 32 years. The Australian cricketers are getting slammed big time but the former Aussie cricketer Greg Chappell who also worked as the Indian coach in the past has come pretty hard on the Cricket Australia for not investing much in the Australian domestic cricket and for not nurturing the young talent in a proper manner.

Greg Chappell feels that the Australian youngsters are not competitive enough in comparison to the Indian youngsters. He calls the young Aussie cricketers weekend warriors as they don’t face many challenges in comparison to the Indian youngsters who have to prove themselves from the time they start playing in the under-16 group. In a column written by Greg Chappell in a leading Australian daily, he asks the Cricket Australia to invest more in young cricketers just like the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Greg writes that while BCCI is investing millions, Cricket Australia’s investment is only $44m dollars on the Sheffield Shield and the difference is equivalent to the size of Indian Ocean. He also gives a warning that if the Cricket Australia doesn’t realise the importance of being competitive in test cricket and doesn’t bring a change in its attitude, the Australian cricket will be left far behind.

Talking about the brilliant performances of the Indian cricketers, Greg Chappell states that he is not surprised to see the Indian young cricketers performing well and others should also make it a habit of seeing them doing well in pressure situations. He goes on to say that cricket fraternity should not worry about team India becoming the best team of the world because the Indian cricket has the capacity of giving five best teams to the world.

Greg Chappell also writes that he won’t blame the Aussie skipper and the bowlers for the loss in the series as the batsmen didn’t live up to the expectations. According to him, some may be slamming Tim Paine but he is one of the five Aussie cricketers who can easily find a place in the Australian team because he may not have had a good series with the gloves but still he averaged around 40.
