The Indian cricket team is back in the country after performing well on the Australian tour and the players are getting a grand welcome which they certainly deserve after defeating the Aussies by 2-1 in the four match test series when nobody gave them a chance of winning even a single test match, leave aside the series.
The Indian side started the series by getting defeated by 8 wickets but after that, they turned the tables upside down with the help of their superb performance under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane. The Indian skipper Virat Kohli returned to India after the first test match as he took paternity leave for being with his wife Anushka Sharma for the birth of their first kid.
While majority of cricketing experts felt that without Virat Kohli, this Indian team didn’t have a chance to win the test match, the Indian squad proved all of them wrong and won the second and fourth test matches and ended the third one with a draw.
32 years old Ajikya Rahane has a 100 percent win record as a skipper as in the five test matches in which he has led the team, the team has won 4 and one has ended in a draw. It won’t be wrong to say that everyone is in the awe of Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership and many are also demanding that he should be made the full time captain in the longer format.
However, numerous others also feel that removing Virat from the post of test skipper won’t be correct as under him, team India has performed pretty well and International Cricket Council also adjudged him as the Test Captain of the Decade.
The former Aussie cricketer Brad Hogg has now opened up on this matter and he feels that removing Virat Kohli from captaincy will ruin the culture of team India. In his opinion, Virat bats better when he is the skipper so if he is removed from captaincy. it will certainly affect his batting in a negative manner even if he tries not to let it happen.
Brad Hogg feels that Ajinkya Rahane may have led the team in a superb manner in Australia but he is certainly good as a vice-captain only. Hogg also adds that Virat is a perfect leader as he leads from the front and it is not easy for the opposition to mess with him.
Do you agree with Brad Hogg or do you think Rahane will be a better captain? Let us know your opinion.
There is no denying the fact that inflation is constantly increasing gradually and it is making lives of people difficult. General public is pretty much affected when prices of things used in everyday routine rise which eventually burns a hole in their pockets and spoils their budget.

Petrol and diesel are quite important for all and sundry as almost all the transportation depends on them. The cost of fuel also affects the prices of the things which are vital for our daily lives because if the prices of the fuel will increase, the cost of transportation will also amplify which will ultimately affect the rates of groceries and other items.
The cost of fuel has further hiked and on 22nd January, there was an increase of 25 paise in both petrol and diesel. The rate of petrol increased per litre from Rs 85.20 to Rs 85.45 while diesel’s rate was increased from Rs 75.38 to Rs 75.63 per litre. The prices that we talked about were in the national capital while the rates in the financial capital, i.e., Mumbai were Rs 92.04 (petrol) and Rs 82.40 (diesel) per litre.

The continuous increase in the rates of fuel has left people a little frustrated and unhappy and they took to social media to express their unhappiness. Some also found humour in this situation and came up with hilarious memes that will tickle your funny bone. Here are some of the tweets that will make you laugh and cry at the same time:

There is similarity between petrol prices and my crush ke Nakhre ..
There is no denying the fact that hard work and determination are quite important when it comes to achieving success in job or business but in some cases, knowledge of a particular language also plays a significant role. However it is also true that nobody has the right to make fun of another person just because he doesn’t have the knowledge of a particular language.
A video is going viral on the Internet and social media which shows the owners of a Pakistani café making fun of their manager who has been working with them for the last nine years just because he is not able to speak fluently in English.
We are talking about the café which is known as Cannoli By Café Soul that is in Islamabad. The owners of this café are Uzma Chaudary and Dia Haider and in a video which was posted by them on the café’s Instagram handle, they are heard making fun of their café manager Owais who has been with them since the start of the café.
In the video, one of the owners is heard saying,
“So, this is our manager who has been with us for nine years. And this is the beautiful English he speaks. This is what we paid for… and a very good salary, mind you.”
The video has been deleted from the Instagram handle after people slammed them for making fun of Owais but it found its way to the micro-blogging site Twitter as a leading Pakistan daily posted it on its Twitter handle and people left no stone unturned in trolling the two owners for their pathetic behaviour.
First of all, watch the video:
A video purportedly showing the owners of a high-end restaurant in Islamabad giving a dressing down to the manager of the establishment for his inability to speak in #English has gone #viral. pic.twitter.com/rgS7ibk1pf

Twitter users were also angry because the owners were not following the COVID-19 protocols while the manager was following the safety guidelines in a proper manner. Soon people started trending #BoycottCannoli and here are some of the selected reactions:

Guarantee you these women would LOVE my horrible Urdu while they mock a working man who speaks multiple languages.
It's good to see many ppl supporting the manager of Cannoli. I hope someone offers him a better job.
Women struggle in many ways, so it's truly sad to see 'empowered' women treat one of their loyal employees of 9 years this way. https://t.co/aAAQHI1Siq
English is just a language, not a parameter for measuring your intelligence. So if you don't know English, it's okay. That doesn't undermine your intellectual faculties.
تف ہے ایسے لوگوں پر جو پیسہ آنے پر اخلاق و مقام کھو دیتے ہیں۔ اللہ نے برحق فرمایا کہ دولت ایک آزمائش ہے!
To the female owners of Cannoli who filmed this man Awais and made FUN of his English, this is called WORKPLACE HARASSMENT and what you two privileged BURGERS did is the most DISGUSTING thing. ENGLISH IS NOT THE MEASURE OF INTELLIGENCE!!!!#BoycottCannolipic.twitter.com/LLuqUUONiI
May be I am overthinking this but I think some of us would boycott this place (as its the easiest thing to do). But the first one to suffer from this would be their staff. A better but not the easiest way would be to help their staff find another job & then boycott the place.
Some deciding to boycott this place. Don’t do that. The manager will face. Rather go there & give 5 star to this employee. He managed this Restaurant without knowing English. He deserves applause.
Disgusting and shameful!
what a sick mentality, I think language is just a way of communication. However, in different country, speaking Eng makes you feel elite or a kind of superior than others. English is just a language not to define how capable someone is. #BoycottCannolipic.twitter.com/bA7XmyQB1D
A language can be learnt. Decency and empathy can't. Pls convey my msg to these ladies : "hatt!"
And to the brother: "You've managed your workplace for a decade despite not being as privileged as the owners. Great job. When the fools talk, say words of peace & ignore."
Both these aunties may speak fluent English but portrays third class mannerism, he is doing a manager’s job not an English literature professor’s job … angreezi ka sath thoori tameez bhi sekh lateen auntie
Owais looks more educated then these ladies. He is in mask and following SOP.
He has been running the restaurant for 9 years with the same language and making money for your inferiority complexed souls. Shame on you low lifes.#BoycottCannoli#Shamefulpic.twitter.com/rtG9xG4XOw
It's not English country where you need to speak English. Staff just need to take your order. When you go to Europe. Most of the restaurant's staff don't know English. These pure evil ladies are abusing this gentleman
The owners of the café did realize their mistake and issued an apology if they have offended anyone; however they also cited that it was a normal chit chat between them and their employees and there was no intention of hurting anyone.
The IPL 2021 is going to start from April 11 tentatively and the IPL franchises have already announced the names of the players whom they want to retain and whom they have released. Some big names have been released by the franchises this time; for example – Rajasthan Royals has released their skipper Steve Smith and appointed Sanju Samson as the skipper, Mumbai Indians has released Lasith Malinga and Kings XI Punjab has released Glenn Maxwell, Jimmy Neesham, etc.
The franchises have also started trading players and MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings has signed Robin Uthappa who was a part of Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2020. Robin Uthappa was not able to make any impact in the last season of the IPL but he seemed to have regained his form in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in which during a match, he played a brilliant knock of 91 runs for which he played only 54 balls.
CSK has a reputation of having players who are quite aged because of which the team is referred to as Dad’s Army and 35 years old Robin Uthappa certainly fits in this age bracket.
The online users have a good time trolling the Chennai franchise for signing Robin Uthappa as they feel that the senior batsman has been signed just because of his age.
Here are some of the selected tweets:

last ipl season thala dhoni made it clear to handover csk to younger players. and today the first step has been taken. robin uthappa got traded to csk, a player who is younger to thala dhoni by a total of 4 years!
I thought finally csk are moving away from old players and focus on youth but here comes Robbie robin Uthappa to chennai super kings.
Some things never change#WhistlePodupic.twitter.com/VU3ksnAt3O
Dhoni's ego trip to prove that he can win IPL with veterans is gonna cost the careers of jagga, ruturaj, Sai kishore. Well done dhoni. Even if u win the title with this old fools, its still a massive failure. IPL was created to be a platform for youngsters not for this shit.
I think you still haven't learned a lesson from last season. Why u r not looking at youngsters who will be a great asset and can do a excellent job in the field. May be we are wrong if you have a policy to hire only aged lions who can't roar and upgrade.
yaaa… Why are they doing this. He is not playing any international matches too. He is aged 35. We want young CSK. I don't know what this management is thinking. Hopefully he perform well.
CSK has a nightmarish IPL 2020 as it was the first time that the franchise was not able to enter the play-offs and MS Dhoni was also slammed for his poor performance and wrong decisions. The star batsman of CSK, Suresh Raina along with spinner Harbhajan Singh pulled out of the IPL 2020 which further increased the problems of CSK. In this season, while Raina has been retained, the Chennai franchise has released Harbhajan Singh and Shane Watson as well.
Do you think Robin Uthappa will be able to play an important role in changing the fortunes of CSK in the IPL 2021? Let us know your views.
The Australian cricketer Steve Smith has performed pretty well in the India-Australia test series, however his team ended up losing the series by 2-1. But what was more unfortunate was that Steve Smith found him in the center of controversy in the Sydney test match.
The Sydney test match was the third test match of the series and for the first four days, the hosts had an upper hand but on the fifth day, India displayed an exemplary fighting spirit and the Indian batsmen put up a great show which helped in ending the test match as draw. The young Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant played a brilliant innings of 97 runs before getting out and in the drinks break, Steve Smith was seen scuffing the crease which made many believe that he was trying to erase the batting guard of the set batsman Rishabh Pant. The act of Steve Smith was caught on the stump camera and he was slammed by the social media users in a merciless manner.
Later on, Steve Smith also expressed his disappointment over the incident and he was supported completely by the Aussie skipper Tim Paine and head coach Justin Langer as they rubbished all the allegations that Steve was trying to erase the batting guard.
Now the former English cricketer Sir Alastair Cook has opened up on this matter and he feels that it has been blown out of proportion. As per Cook, considering the fact that in what Steve Smith was involved in the past, everything that he does now will come under scanner. He further adds that only Steve Smith knows whether it was intentional or unintentional but it will certainly make everyone suspicious.
Sir Alastair Cook praised India for showing the others how to defeat the Aussies as he said that it was not easy but India gave no chances to the Australian team and ultimately brought them down for which all credit goes to the Indian team. He also adds that England also has strong depth which can go and play well over there and India has shown the way of how to play against the present Aussie side.
What do you think of Steve Smith incident? Do you agree with Sir Alastair Cook? Let us know your views.
The recently concluded Australian tour of team India is one of the most memorable tours as India not only ended it with a test series win of 2-1 but it also broke the record of Australia of not losing any test match at Gabba since 1988. What made this tour more special was the fighting spirit shown by the Indian squad in critical moments and the brilliant manner in which the youngsters performed when the majority of the seniors got injured and were not able to play.
Mohammed Siraj is one of those youngsters who rose to the moment and performed in an exemplary style to make his team the winner. However, it won’t be wrong to say that Siraj handled himself quite extraordinarily as just before the series, he lost his father but he chose to stay in Australia and fulfill the national duty. It was certainly a tough time for youngster and he accepted that it took a toll on him mentally but he was fortunate enough that he got the support of not only his family and fiancée but also of the members of the Indian team.
He said that he talked to his family members who told him to play and make his father’s dream come true. On returning to his home-town Hyderabad, Siraj said that he became emotional as he went to his father’s graveyard straight from airport to pay respects. His mother cried seeing him as he entered the house and after a long time, he was able to eat home-cooked food.
How wonderfully Siraj performed can be understood by the fact that he took 13 wickets in the three test matches that he played including his first five wicket haul that he took in Gabba, Brisbane. However, it was not easy for Siraj as he got racially abused in the Sydney test match by the Australian crowd and that too twice.
Siraj told that the abusing which he faced made him stronger mentally and he ensured that his performance did not get affected because of it. He added that it was his duty to inform his skipper about it which he did and the umpires even gave them the option of walking out but the skipper Ajinkya Rahane refused to walk out as he said that they respect the game of cricket.
India made one of the biggest comebacks as in the first test match, India suffered a humiliating defeat by 8 wickets and in the second innings, the Indian squad got all out at the score of 36 which is the lowest ever by team India.
With youngsters like Mohammed Siraj, the future of the Indian cricket is certainly bright. What do you say?
The Indian cricket team has certainly made the country proud by winning the four match test series against Australia by 2-1 under the leadership of Ajinkya Rahane. The Mumbai cricketer captained the team in the last three test matches because the Indian skipper Virat Kohli returned to India as he had taken paternity leave for the birth of his first baby. The Indian team displayed a lot of courage, determination and grit and performed in an impeccable manner even when everything was going against them.
The Indian cricketers have now returned to the country and it is kind of obvious that they are getting grand welcome by the countrymen, relatives, neighbours, etc. Ajinkya Rahane also got a heartwarming welcome and his neighbours also arranged for a cake to be cut by the cricketer.
However, the cake had a kangaroo shape edible figure on the top of the cake because of which Rahane refused to cut the cake. It is quite understandable that cutting the kangaroo would have been insulting towards the Australians as their national animal is kangaroo and the Australian team is also referred to as Kangaroos sometimes.
This was quite a nice gesture from Ajinkya Rahane and the whole incident was also telecasted by TV9 Marathi, a Marathi news channel.

Ajinkya Rahane has a 100 percent winning record as a skipper as he has led the team in 5 test matches, out of which 4 have been won by India while one has ended in a draw. In limited overs cricket, Rahane again has a 100 percent win record in ODIs as India has won all the three ODIs that have been played under Ajinkya Rahane’s captaincy but in T20I, he has led the team in only one T20I in 2015 which India lost to Zimbabwe.
There is no denying the fact that winning a test series against Australia and that too in their home is certainly a very special act. Moreover, we can’t forget the fact that the Indian side in the Brisbane test match was quite less experienced in comparison to the Australian squad and almost every cricketing pundit was sure that the Aussies would win the Gabba test.
